abatically:
That is a silly comparison right there. 1994 was out golden era and we haven't produced real talents since the class of 1994. In fact the only world class player we had post 94 was KANU nwankwo and since then we never had a world class player.

But since u want names, I can tell u that Chidi nwanu never played in the 1994 nations cup but was an integra part of 1994 world cup.
Some of you here just claim to be wise. Who were our key players then ? Yes Chidi Nwanu was included but he was not an inexperienced player. He was already mature. Can you call that rebuilding? He was a fantastic player no doubt about it but did Westerhoff change the whole setting ? Yekini was still our points man, Amokachi, Okocha, Finidi were amongst our best attackers. That's why the team became so good because the played 2geda for a long time.

My point is, where are the players that won the NC ? Now do you use green horns to execute a match you need to win at all cost ? Even if we have to build a team, this is not the right time.

Keshi's fault or the FA? They were the ones promising to make him the highest paid coach in Africa to persuade him from resigning. When he chaged his mind and said he wasn't resigning again, no contract again. Instead we're hearing rumours of a german coach. Keshi's coaching is rubbish but our FA is also rubbish.
He should know who he's dealing with. U don't make promises based on mouth. It should be in black and white.
They are putting him through this mess because he did't leave at the right time.

After Nigeria won the 1994 AFCON, Coach Clemens Westerhof invited new players to the camp to try out for a place in the World Cup squad. The same squad of the Nations Cup made it. However if any of the new players were as good as the old ones, they would have broken in.

Our Super Eagles team is not top notch, so more players will be invited till the coach is satisfied. Even after then, he has to keep the chosen team on their toes by letting them know their positions are not permanent.
How many changes did Westeroff make in the USA 94 squad? The first 11 in the Nations Cup was the same in the WC. And those were the best we had in the country that time.

But u can't blame keshi. No contract since the worldcup when they promised him heaven and earth. Nobody knows if he's being paid sef. Plus all the rumours that the federation is approaching German coaches everywhere to take over his job. Who works under conditions like that?
Why didn't Keshi renew his contract? We heard SA was interested in him. Why didn't he sign for them? I don't understand how Naija dey do their thing ?

Mata was the best player at Chelsea for two seasons. Mourinho let him go because Mata did not suit his pattern.

Experienced players you want for Keshi might not be suitable for the kind of team he is try
ing to build.

After being appointed Coach Of Barcelona, Guardiola offloaded Zambrotta, Giovani dos Santos, Edmílson, Deco, Ronaldinho, Lilian Thuram, Oleguer Presas, Santiago Ezquerro, Marc Crosas.

You must not keep experienced players to do well. Victor Ikpeba just wamt us to return to the NFF list where there would be no opportiunity for unknown players.
Your analysis is different from that of Keshi. Keshi has been a fantastic coach so far, but I don't understand what's his game plan. You don't keep changing players at every instance.
What about those players he used @ the world cup ? What about those in the Nation Cup ?

No one knows why he just discards players that are doing fine in Europe and bringing on debutantes. I used to support him for his disciplianry actions against certain players. But now no one knows what exactly is happening.

The team that won the NC are not old, so why is he overhauling the team?

djeezy: So true. Nice thread for those caught up in the friendzone. It's not friendzone until you love/like the girl and want her for yourself. Basically for me, no girl can friendzone me.
Just the way guys can be friend zoned, women can also be friend zoned and they don't like it.
But the best thing any guy can do is to make the lady know ur intention before anything.

kay29000: People are fighting OP because of this topic...they feel these are just the ones that got lucky, and that they are a larger fraction of people who never went to the University that are living in poverty. Well, my Dad didn't go to the University, but he rose high in one of the banks still standing in Nigeria right now in the 80-90s. Guaranteed that things have changed, but I still strongly believe that proper secondary school education is enough for anyone to be super successful in life, as long as he knows what he wants to do.
When U mentioned your dad, I thought you were going to say he is an entreprenor. Who will employ you as an SSCE holder in this day and age ?

With the way Nigeria is, it's not that easy for one to find that "job" that will fit in perfectly. For instance, I'm yet to find someone who loves marketing for a bank with a passion. If you have tell me.
Sometimes a man will settle for what will pay his bills and he trains himself to love it.

sauer: Nigerians are really just as foolish as they come. A pastor says mas.turba.tion is no sin, it's business as usual. A pastor curls his hair and probably spends more on that hair than the average Nigerian spends on food, it's business as usual. A pastor dresses lavishly and invests tons of money on 'looking good for Christ', it's business as usual. The same pastor moves about with bodyguards, unable to call on his so-called God to protect him, yet it's business as usual.
The very same pastor now divorces his wife, slanders her, and puts himself on the pedestal against his obviously very quiet, unassuming wife; yet IT'S BUSINESS AS USUAL. DAMN!!!

Romance › Re: Why Nigerian Girls Should NOT Be Obsessed With Men's Height? by vislabraye(m): 9:44pm On Sep 19, 2014
Onyiridike: I am a Nigerian lady with a lot of experience about life especially when it comes to relationship and marriage. Experience is NOT just passing through a situation but what you did with the situation.

Obviously, our young ladies always list ridiculous criteria that a man they will date/marry MUST possess. Among those ridiculous criteria, height is always a priority. Gone are the days when character is placed above physical appearance.

When I was an undergraduate, a certain young man approached me and told me how he loved me and wanted to date me. He is an enterprising young man, very intelligent and handsome. However, he is not very tall; just 5ft. 7 inches in height. Of course, young ladies don't take decisions independently. This is why they are easily influenced by friends and relatives. My friends then said: "Never! My man MUST be 6ft and above, so tell him capital NO". I rejected the young man.

Today, he is happily married with a lady who is by far more beautiful and talented than me. I almost shed tears on their wedding day. Meanwhile, all the so-called very tall men that I dated are ONLY interested in my vagina.
So far I have learnt the following:

1. Most tall men believe that their height is a 'master' key to every ladies heart and therefore, their ONLY achievement is ' I am a tall dude and ladies are dieing for me'.

2. Most tall guys are NOT caring because they have this notion that a lady should count herself lucky to date them.

3. I am yet to understand that unique or remarkable thing about tall men.

Fortunately, I repented because it occured to me that all those times, I was ONLY playing my friend's script. I wanted to feel among and brag that my boyfriend is equally tall. I gave a guy who is not very tall a chance and I started enjoying my paradise on earth. We are married now. All my life, I have not come across such a wonderful person. He has it all:

1. He is God-fearing and generous.

2. He is handsome and a great orator

3. He is educated and intelligent

4. He cooks for me when I am tired (caring)

5. He satisfies me sexually ( oh! What a heavenly feeling)

6. He got a good dress sense

7. He is social

8. Among others

I am not in any way trying to say that tall guys are bad. As a lady, I am only advising other Nigerian ladies to see a man beyond height. The height issue is over-hyped and even unnecessary. You may NOT get a second chance like me.

Finally, based on my experience, I have come up with a quote:

"A man is NOT known by his height but by his heart (bravery) and meritorous achievements".
Eeya very touching. I am a tall guy and that's almost the first thing they see in. Fact still remains that almost every guy wants to bleep a woman so the taller guyz will exploit this to their advantage.

But the truth is that you need good friends to advise you. Your friends are also to be blamed. At least they should have linked U up with a tall and successive dude.

Culture › Re: What You May Not Know About Americans by vislabraye(m): 11:46pm On Sep 15, 2014
Sweetlemon: Yeah we all think America is a liberated, free country for all. But what we do not know is that to some extent, there are things that Americans still practice despite all the feminism and human rights movements, some even outdated.

1. Ain't Nothing Like Gender Equality: Yes there are a few superwomen here and there. Beyonce there, Oprah Winfrey there, female supreme court judges, etc. But there is a line drawn somewhere. Do you know that there are still many jobs that pay men more than women for doing exactly the same thing? Business policies are more male-tailored, also the percentage of female CEOs of top companies in Nigeria for instance is far more than that of the US. That's why they have so many laws protecting women to make up for this.
Also, it will be easier for a female president to come out from Nigeria than US (black or white) Let's bet this. Hilary Clinton fans take note of this.

2. They Actually Have a Deep Rooted Culture; Thanksgiving and 4th of July are traditions that will remain till thy kingdom comes and they follow it religiously. They also have certain kinds of music, food, and ways of partying that are strictly American. Apart from their atheists, they collectively say grace at the table during every family meal. They also have a tradition they observe in the weddings. Their weddings are more like trad and white rolled into one.

3. There Are Probably More Percentage Of Housewives In The US Than In Nigeria (minus rural settings); Go to high brow areas like Bel-air where there are wives of successful lawyers and and surgeons doing nothing all than taking care the kids and going shopping. Not just high brow but almost all classes of people. There are more and more housewives choosing to stay back and take care of the home. Some work from the house though.

4. There Are Lots Of Gold Diggers; This is for the "Nigerian girls and money" criers. American and Russian babes no dey carry last in the area of god digging. Marrying an American woman is like getting ready to loose more than half your wealth because in case of a divorce, the courts will give her most of your wealth which you will have to work hard to replenish. Sometimes it"s worse if she already has her own money, she will make sure she gets a good lawyer to squeeze you dry. But American billionaires have ways of making new money so they are coping. Lol. Do you know there are many, many young even middle aged attractive women with the sole aim of marrying wealthy men?

5. Straight Guys Hate Gay Guys; With a passion! Go to American sites and blogs and see anonymous comments from straight guys about gay men. You will coil! Words like "gay asss" or "gay" are used to ridicule them codedly. Gays can NEVER have equal rights in America. Politicians just use them to score points. They all know that homosexuals cannot actually live like and get all the benefits of straight people in all American states.

6. An American Guy Will Choose A Virgin Over A LovePeddler As Wife; Unless, of course love comes in, contrary to what people think that American men don't care about morality in their women, they will pick an inexperienced girl over a LovePeddler any time any day. Not like they are looking for virgins, but they need and crave decent women. If you don't believe me, watch BAGGAGE on Dstv 127 almost every evening. Also visit American blogs and forums. Yes the Average American guy can't resist some one night stands here and there but he can't marry her. Yes they can have baby mamas and even live with them, but they don't marry them.

7. There Are Actually More Percentage of Virgins In America Than In Most Countries In Africa; Some of them are the miss-goody-two-shoes, no makeup, no fancy dresses types while some are the party girl types. They chose to remain virgins not for religious reasons or because they are good girls but because they chose to preserve it for that special man, or to auction it off! Lol! Is it not oyibos that auction that virginity? Some as old as 26 years old!

8. American Guys Go To Meet Their Girlfriend's Families Long Before Nigerian Guys Are Ready For Such; They are also old-fashioned when it comes to serious relationships. Opening car doors, taking you out on several dates, and even meeting your folks before taking you to his house or asking you to come to his. Unlike our Nigerian niggas who get your number today and the next thing they are asking when you will come to see them!

9. Most American Grandmas Are Just As Prim And Proper As Ours; They take care of grandkids and give all the advice and lectures and are just as protective and desirous of grandkids as our own grandmothers.

If you doubt any of these, do some research.
I agree with the gold digging part a lot but I'm not sure about them having many virgins. I don't think so. They are as generous if not more generous as their Nigerian ladies counterparts.
