the more the sanctions bit, everyone looses at the end. it would be naive to say that one country will loose and another wont.
Sanctions is a 2 way street. Lithuania and Poland are already complaining as well.
Russia just signed a 5 year deal with Iran to ease sanctions and have increased food imports from Turkey to compensate what they would be loosing from European markets. no one would win a sanction war, everyone has aces up their sleeves. Sanctions only work on African countries like Zimbabwe Thank you a lot. People forget that Russia is a strong country. They have China and other nations to trade with. |

According to the woman she said, the good samaritan that got her out of the danger zone said, the traditionalist needed 14 male and female heads. Please spread the news and save lives!!! Pls spread the word to these NL nincompoooops in the like of Pagan and Dragon who don't see anything wrong with killing people in the name of tradition. 2. You complain that movement will be hindered for something that ended around 6am or so but the traffic gridlock being caused by religious camps along the expressways for hours and days does not hinder movement to you and you see it as okay?
3. To the bolded, because 2 black people were missing the next day after a traditional rite, you decide to push the blame on our tradition? Why didnt your brain ponder if it was a normal kidnap, or one of your pastors or imam kidnapped such individuals for their coded sacrifices.
4. Nigerians wont be begging for cure for ebola virus if we accepted our own beliefs, values, practices and norms..Have you ever thought that before white men came to africa the only major disease we experienced then was malaria..but since the day people like you abandoned your traditions to accept foriegn gods, we have no other choice than to succumb to the pathetic case we are in now. Apart from that, you hear some motivational speakers tell you that spending 8hours to sleep means you have spent 1/3 of your life in bed. So everyone wants to sleep between 4-6 hours of sleep a day. |

The civillain casualty in Palestine is too great. Israel is going to a great extreme because USA is backing it. UN even decried the extent of damage suffered by the innocent children and defenseless women. Obviously America can never broker peace btwn Israel and Palestine knowing fully well that America funds the Israeli army. Even some senators openly threw their weight behind Israel.
This is not a Moslem vs Christian war so it should not be compared to what ISIS is doing in Iraq. If people should protest the killing of Palestines, they should also do same against ISIS. |

But of recent, Ukraine is contemplating joining NATo forces (which is another name for USA). This wont be in the interest of Russia who does not want US presence in its region. Another problem is that there are Russians living in Ukraine Are marginalized. This led to the conflict between the Russian speaking Ukraineans and the actual Ukraineans. So Russia as a country would want to defend its ethnic group. But USA is not helping matters at all. |

Career › Re: Top Lies Nigerian Job Seekers Tell In Interviews by vislabraye(m): 11:06pm On Aug 03, 2014 |
Jarus: It is very difficult to be 100% truthful in interviews – if not lie, there is a very strong urge to embellishes – exaggerate or understate - actuals.
However, this is not to say everyone lies or embellish in interviews. I once coached a young man for an interview who really impressed me. We were trying to anticipate how he will handle the question, has there been a time you led a team to success, or something like that. He couldn’t give an example, and he said many of his friends who had sat for that interview told him he better craft one. He said it was just difficult for him to lie – his body language alone will be enough to give him away on the spot as lying. He said he will stutter, shake and easily confuse things. I commended him, and advised him that he should stick to his principle, that there is nothing like saying the truth. He got that job.
That said, while lying in interview is wrong, there is nothing wrong in packaging what is true to look glossier.
So, here we go. Top Lies Nigerian Job Seekers Tell:
◾I am multi-tasking - Hmmnnn, even when the guy cannot handle two assignments at the same time.
◾I love challenges – Really? The last candidate also said that. In fact, everyone I have interviewed today said that. So you all love challenges? No one hates challenges
◾I was born in 1991 - Hahaha, Alhaji. More than half of Nigerian job seekers, especially at entry level, use “football age”. Even with those moustache.
◾I plan to grow with this company: Serious? Even if Shell comes with mega offer next week? Chai, there is God o.
◾I have always wanted to work for this company: Even if the guy has never heard about the company before that advert was published.
◾You (the interviewing company) are one of the market leaders: Aba market or which market? Where is your source? Where are the stats? Even the recruiter knows you’re flattering him.
◾I am trying to work on my weakness: So that your sister you slapped on the interview morning was an error. What of that stick you smoked at the corner the night before? Okay, how about that woman you cursed in traffic on your way to interview venue? So much for working on weakness.
◾Pay is not my motivation: Really? Even after opening thread on Nairaland asking how much the company pays. God is watching you o.
◾I am a team player: Every Nigerian job seeker is a team player. No one is a loafer.
◾I quit my former company voluntarily so as to gather further experience: Just ensure the HR Manager of your last company does not hear that.
◾I am a go-getter: Ask the guy the meaning of “go-getter” and don’t be surprised he doesn’t even know the meaning.
◾I pay strong attention to details: Only that this quality was on holiday when you were preparing your CV. Because the CV in front of me – with all the errors and inconsistencies in fonts – says opposite.
Any other one I have missed?

Nairaland General › Re: 7 Reasons Why Women Live Longer Than Men by vislabraye(m): 6:45am On Aug 02, 2014 |
Hackerjay: https://www.uncoverdiscover.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/13.jpg?89b997
#1 – Unhealthy Habits
Excessive smoking, alimentation rich in fats, sedentary activities and consumption of alcohol are typical to men, and partially explain their developing of serious diseases (cardiovascular diseases, cancer, hepatic affections). On the other hand, women are more careful with their eating habits and more concerned about their health. They are not as avid consumers of any kind of drug.
#2 – Genetics
Women’s immune system ages more slowly; the aging process differs from various reasons. Women have more estrogen, which protects them from cardiovascular affections until menopause. Also, they are more protected from Alzheimer disease and certain types of cancer
#3 – Motherhood
Women who give birth after the age of 30 apparently possess longevity genes, according to researchers. They can live up to the age of 95 or more. Having babies later on probably means that the reproductive system is healthy enough, so the rest of the organism ages more beautifully. However, babies delivered after the age of 40 risk developing serious disorders, such as Down syndrome.
#4 – Chromosome X
Another possible explanation for women’s longevity (and for many other differences between men and women) is the fact that they have two chromosomes X, while men only have one. There are structures in our RNA (Ribonucleic acid), which practically tell genes what to do; they play a fundamental role in the immune system’s capacity of removing infections and diseases. Most of these structures are found in chromosome X. Thus, it can be said that women are programmed to be healthier and live longer than men.
#5 – Testosterone
When they reach the age of around 20, men have high levels of hormones such as testosterone, which can induce a dangerous behavior. Young men are careless about many aspects: they drive fast or don’t wear seatbelts, they drink a lot of alcohol, they can become aggressive etc. This kind of behavior leads to higher rates of mortality.
#6 – Stress & Depression
It is proven that happy people live longer. Older men, in particular, go through serious episodes of depression. Their suicide attempts are also more successful than women’s. Stress is usually omnipresent in a man’s life, since they need to provide for their family, to work more and to assume more responsibilities. As known, stress can launch diseases, such as cancer.
#7 – Environmental Factors
Leaving aside occupational hazards which men are exposed to, life expectancy is 70% influenced by environmental factors, namely our behavior and the atmosphere we live in. The rest is owed to genetics. Women, who usually engage in much simpler jobs, or are largely housewives in certain countries, are not exposed to as many dangers or to excessive stress.
