Standardized test wasn't required for the course and yes GVSU is one of the top institutions in USA. YES I'M AWARE of the interview for both session.. No I've no ties but I will appreciate if you give me few reasons for all the questions you asked here

I quizzed you for obvious reasons.... your transcript sounded like one whose case was already decided before even going for the interview. I dont want to derail this thread but know that the test is one of the major factors that is used to determine genuine students. Choose Institutions that require it. Lastly you can't get the visa without ties even as a student. Get these figured out before reapplying.

Why must your friend book a hotel when she is going for a cousin's wedding?
She should be more concerned about her own ties. The visa officers will be more interested in knowing what will make her deport herself back to her home country after the wedding and not whether she stays in a hotel or not.

Did you write the standardized test and what was your score?
Is GVSU one of the top institutions in USA ?
Are you aware that there is a time frame for the interview for both sessions?
From your ds160 do you have any ties?
Sorry about your denial but you can always reapply.
I will advise you to go through the student's thread and meet with fellow students like yourself.

For F1 visa it is not a must to have travel history. You can always reapply.

Good morning all. I applied for a family visa of 4. My husband, I and two kids. Our interview was on Wednesday June 6. My kids and I were turned back due to the barcode issue and we were given a paper to reschedule our appointment and fill a new DS_160 . It was only my hubby that went for the interview and he was denied. My question is this......will my husband denial affect our interview and lead to denial......thank you #ladyG seyewest justwise omobendel and other gurus in the house

It will have been more apt for your hubby to have gone back with the family rather than being interviewed alone. They wont fuss over him because it was meant to be a family interview.

Your travel history is very weak and you should start working on it.

You can glean through this thread to learn from people's experience but you need to earn stellar pay to talk of having a good job tie. Dubai and south africa are not strong travel histories.

Was invited to my bestfriends wedding, he is a permanent resident and is married to an American, the wife sent the invitation letter and they stated in the letter that they are accommodating me for 10days, but that I am responsible for all other expenses.

Your ties are not very strong.
Your purpose also.
You were denied student visa so you might be seen as an intending immigrant even though your visit application is not untimely.
How did your best friend get there?

I was at the U.S Consular office in Lagos yesterday and was rejected, I noticed so many people were rejected just the oldies were given Visa.

below is my transcript.

In my DS 160 form I filled Rhode Island and New Hampshire as locations am visiting .,my uncle stays in Rhode Island and my sister schools at New Hampshire. But what I think the VO thinks am I might be a redflag is cos New Hampshire is a border state to Canada ,just 1 hour 40mins drive to Montreal, Canada.

Gurus in the house what do you think went wrong .

Can you tell us what you do that you have a monthly target of 5 million. Also, when a visa officer reiterates a particular question they usually dont expect a one liner response the second time.
