Everything I've posted here can be related to FPL A few days ago I gave Arsenal news - person talk say this no be Arsenal thread be this. Then I gave City and Pool news - person talk say why I dey show my hand for FPL. Then just again person talk say na spam I dey spam. Say, make mods do their job. Watin I do una sef. . . Why e be say na only for naija thing must dey complex? Go any good FPL forum and see. . . Everyone discusses football. . . Is that not why we are all here? I know that's why I signed up. . . Yeah, I realize that some of you are seasoned FPL managers and have done very well in past seasons but why do you insist on calling me out? If you are not interested in my posts or what I have to say, please move on and read the next post. . . It really isn't that hard! I leave facebook and tweeter for chit chat. . . This is where I want to discuss FPL and players with my fellow Nigerians. Please stop, I do not appreciate it! It's so not cool. . . P.S I know the whole "Bruce Gervinho Lee" thing was meant as an yab, but I'll keep that it has a ring to it!

@Ibime I hear hear you brother. At the same time bro, no be everybody way de go school dey learn something. Mate, differentials, most times are not star player. They are mostly cheap players casual FPL managers generally don't look at in time e.g "Seamus Coleman" last season classified as a defender but played mostly in midfield. Scored 116 point and first valued at 4.5mill. Now that's what I call a differential not someone like Luis Suarez who the whole world knows is a quality player. Thanks for the comment though, nothing do me.

Man City vs L.A Galaxy pre-season is on the way, For FPL managers who are interested you can catch the match on- http://www.fromsportcom.com/v-2/10/198/v-319832.html Not knowing what will happen with Tevez in terms of his transfer saga, it may be wise to watch the rest of the team and get a little perspective on how they may line up next season if their free scoring talisman eventually leaves. At least we can assess Dzeko and Balotelli. By the way Uruguay are up 2-0 in the Copa America Final. FPL darling Luis Suarez got the first goal you can watch the rest of the match on - http://www.fromsportcom.com/v-2/10/196/v-319726.html

@mykali If you like read if you like no read, Watin concern me ![]() You said you're sure half the people here don't give a ''bleepin' bleep'' if Gervinho had brought guns to the pitch and 'stolen the show' Stop being selfish, the other half probably do give a ''bleepin' bleep'' if Gervinho had brought guns to the pitch and 'stolen the show' Anyway it's not about that, I'm just saying!!! @ritchboy Na wa for you sef. Abi you no know say everything na by the grace of God? Ask and you shall receive, ![]()

@mykali My guy abeg no vex, no be fight. Why the gra gra? I'm just giving some pre-season news. If you want to succeed in FPL you have to follow ALL teams and take a look at new signings who are performing well for their clubs in pre-season friendlies in order to steal a march on the opposition, Nothing stops you from giving pre-season on your club or any other club for that matter, Open your eyes and learn something young man, this is fantasy football ALL team news is relevant.

Thanks mate, I got the code ![]() Look out for "Rapid Viagra ®"
|
I know this has nothing to do with FPL but as Nigerians I'm sure you'll be happy to know that "Ideye Brown" got another brace for his club, http://www.fcdynamo.kiev.ua/en/dynamo/news/32063.html
|
Gervinho has been added (9mill) to the game ![]() Can't seem to make up my mind on Taarabt, Buzsaky or Ephraim, Would have been a lot easier if Taarabt was sure to stay at the club. Ephraim is doing well in pre season friendlies 4 goals in 3. Buzsaky, I feel can be a quality prospect if only he can stay fit.
|
@ Eldee, My guy, I am still waiting for the code, "Rapid Viagra ®" I've been anxious all summer for FPL to start. It would be nice to be a part of this league, Last year I missed out on this Nairaland league! a beg now, abi you wan make I kneel down over internet ![]() Finished in the top 100k last season out of over 2mill so I am no Tom, Dick and Mumuni ![]()
|
A beg make una send me the code make I join, My team name is "Rapid Viagra ®" |
I know it's almost 8 weeks into the prem but if this is the official Barcleys Fantasy Premier League then I'd love to have the code to join the Nairaland league, I've been playing since game week 1 so the game will just slot me in. Currently in the top 200k so I'm not really a threat but would love to compete with my fellow Naijarians ![]() |
17? This girl looks younger than that, Looks more like 15 or 16 at most! Anyway well done Naija, |
My fellow Nigerians, abeg make una no shake! I know what truly bothers us even subconsciously is WHAT will HAPPEN when Nigeria face Argentina at the WC, All eyes will be on the Eagles as they take on the North Koreans in their final friendly before the WC begins. I can not wait! We all know that friendlies don't count for much. However, they help us gauge our strengths and weaknesses. Will Lagerback shock us by playing Martins as the right full back or will he start Kanu in goal? These are some of the questions we might be asking ourselves at the moment, after seeing what he did on the right wing in our last friendly, which in my opinion was not a bad move. I do believe Sani Kaita took a few shots at goal from not too optimistic angles! I remember 2 of them where embarrassingly off, but on a good day who knows!! |
@na_so, Kgdavid and Dr Kitaun Thanks guys you are great! Thanks for taking time out to read and comprehend what I was trying to say. @Sagamite and honeric01 My brothers, I honestly have nothing against our local coaches. I am all for us black people excelling, But please ask yourselves this one question: If Siasia was coach would fans complain? I personally would have loved to see Siasia take our team to the WC. Amodu had so many chances to make us forget the past but he kept letting us down. How many times did he get the chance to be the head coach of our team? Siasia has managed to give us fans confidence in the future of Nigerian football Amudu did NOT!! I am not here to promote Lars Lagerback but quite honestly, the players appear to want to play for him, maybe it is the new coach syndrome! Besides, it would be folly to think Amodu and Lagerback are on the same level technically. Thank you for reading. |
Dear Nigerians, Not everything is a conspiracy theory, but I guess when it comes to our beloved Naija almost everything is (Anichebe injury) I do not do PR for the NFF as some of you may want to believe. The NFF in my opinion are a bunch of grown men who do not have a clue when it comes to football management. As a Nigerian it is my duty to do all within my ability to boost morale and confidence in my fellow Eagles supporters by pointing out some things that can easily be over looked when judgments are made based on sentiments, I would also like to seize this opportunity to say a big I TOLD YOU SO to all the people who had doubts about Dickson Etuhu making the final cut! I strongly believe he was the coaches choice and not the NFF. This coach is good! You guys should STUDY our last 2 matches. You will see the difference in team chemistry. Who would have thought Sani Kaita could play on the right wing? Certainly not Amodu, Let me educate you on the implications of that move, keeping in mind that Lagerback like Clemens Westerhof and Jo Bonfrere are all believers in the 4-4-2 formation. Our fullbacks are VERY average, so in playing Kaita on the right side of the midfield puts an extra ball winner who has the ability to play out wide on the pitch. This is to help neutralize opposing attacks coming down the flank. That may also account for Chidi Odiah on the right having less to do defensively than Taye Taiwo on the left flank during the Colombia match. Football is about balance! You can not attack all the time without having to defend at some point. Keeping in mind the 4-4-2 formation, do not be surprised if we see a scenario where Taye Taiwo is playing on the left wing and maybe Yobo or whoever playing as the left fullback… I know this is a BIG WHAT IF!! If you have been following Lagerbacks statements from day 1 of camp, you will notice he said he was going to lay emphasis on the defense then the attack and improve the speed of the team, THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE FORMULA FOR FAST BRAKING COUNTER ATTACKING FOOTBALL Talk to Jose Mourinho!! My people, abeg even me sef dey a bit disappointed with some of the team selection but watin man go do? The coach has a strategy and has visualized every scenario in his head over and over again. He has watched these boys in camp. It's his backside on the line. Who tell you say he wan dey unemployed after WC? Abi you think say he no like the salary wey we dey pay am? How did our English Premiership Eagles do at club level last season? Anichebe featured in 11 out of 38 EPL games for Everton playing 45 minutes or more in 6 and 90 minutes in just 1. He featured in 4 of Everton's last 5 games. With an overall total of 4 shot on target out of 7, 3 chances created, 1 goal and 2 assists. He also saw 481 minutes of Premiership action all season. He would have added another dimension to our game, similar to how Fabio Capello dropped 24 goal scoring Darren Bent for a 3 goal scoring Heskey in his final 23. Mikel featured in 25 out of 38 EPL games for Chelsea playing 45 minutes or more in 21 and 90 minutes in 11. He featured in 7 of Chelsea's last 10 games. With an overall total of 46 tackles won out of 62, 17 chances created and 1740 minutes of Premiership action all season. He played in a holding role and not attacking midfielder for Chelsea last term. It’s the same Chelsea medics that ruled Essien out of the WC, why would they lie about Mikel not being fit if he was only out for 4 weeks, not 7 months. Utaka featured in 18 out of 38 EPL games for Pompey playing 45 minutes or more in 12 and 90 minutes in 8. He featured in 6 of Pompey's last 10 games. With an overall total of 6 shots on target out of 24, 18 chances created, 1 goal and 3 assists. He also saw 1054 minutes of Premiership action all season. He was also used mostly as a wide midfielder and not a striker much of last season by Pompey! Papilo featured in 23 out of 38 EPL games for Pompey playing 45 minutes or more in just 7 and 90 minutes in only 3. He also featured in 5 of Pompey's last 10 games. With an overall total of 3 shots on target out of 10, 14 chances created, 2 goals and 3 assists. He also saw 840 minutes of Premiership action all season. Note that he played less than 30 minutes in 12 of the 23 matches he was involved in… Old age Etuhu featured in 20 out of 38 EPL games for Fulham playing 45 minutes or more in 14 and 90 minutes in 12. He also featured in 5 of Fulham's last 10 games. With an overall total of 34 tackles won out of 47 and 1336 minutes of Premiership action all season. He was ever present in the midfield for Fulham during the Europa Cup. Yobo featured in 17 out of 38 EPL games for Everton playing 45 minutes or more in 13 and 90 minutes in 12. He featured in 4 of Evertons's last 10 games. With an overall total of 19 tackles won out of 25 and 1183 minutes of Premiership action all season. He played the full 90 minutes in all but 2 of Everton’s first 13 games. However of the 4 games in their last 10 he played less than 5 minutes in 3. Yak featured in 25 out of 38 EPL games for Everton playing 45 minutes or more in 10 and 90 minutes in only 4. He also featured in 9 of Everton's last 10 games. With an overall total of 16 shots on target out of 32, 21 chances created, 5 goals and 4 assists. He also saw 1095 minutes of Premiership action all season… Maybe with his future at Everton hanging in the balance, he may decide to show his true potential at the WC. Oh well, stats don’t win games but Anichebe looks to me like he did more with his limited playing time than most others though, injury prone. Hopefully he can stay fit through next season. One more thing before I forget, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi please STOP lying to your father. There is a huge difference between a cracked shin and a bruised shin! Thank you for reading. Most of these stats can be found at the Official Barclays Premiership website. Not pro Lagerback Not pro NFF Just pro Super EAGLES!! |

We have started again…. COMPLAINING!! COMPLAINING!! COMPLAINING!! After the Saudi match… What are so, so and so doing on the pitch? After the Colombia match… Lukman can be the highest goal scorer at the WC if Lars uses him as the top 9! After the final 23 were announced… How can Mikel be on the list and Peter Utaka not? Please my fellow Eagles fans, SOME of you should open your eyes and stop judging football management through the limitations of your own understanding. This is NOT fantasy football. This is quite clearly a similar side to what Amodu would have chosen. So the tools are pretty much same ol same, but remember that using Vincent van Gogh's brush does not mean I can achieve great things in art. Perceiving the psychology and moral of your team is probably 50% of your job as a coach. Some of these boys are playing for their careers and that IDEALLY should make them pull up their socks. There is no amount of money the NFF can give these players during the course of the WC that will rival the monthly wedges some of our boys get at their respective clubs. SO saying that the NFF should give the team extra bonuses for beating Argentina is just a laugh! My point is: Take a player like Yakubu for instance, regardless of him being popular with most Nigerian fans or not. When your coach David Moyes lights fire under your nyash by signing Jermaine Beckford and is still in the market to signs more strikers in a WC year + the presence of a fit Luis Saha who will be there early for Everton's pre- season, will you not be motivated in fear of being traded to a lesser club in the summer and having to take a pay cut? This is his last window of opportunity to sell himself before the transfer floodgates are fully flung open. Look at the match against Colombia, we all caught glimpses of what a dedicated Yakubu looks like. Let us be honest with ourselves, did you not see hunger in his eyes? That same hunger that has been missing for sometime now. I believe the manager would want someone who is fighting for his survival in the trenches with him… This same theory concerns SOME of our other boys who have taken a lackadaisical attitude towards the Eagle in the past… Besides have any of you been present at their training sessions? The inclusion of Kanu should not come as a surprise to all. Not because we can not do without him at the WC, but the fact that the sentimental card was played. He looked so comfortable on the bench in the Colombia match spotting a Philadelphia Phillies baseball hat looking smug. This despite being less than impressive against Saudi… Don’t be deceived, he already knew he had the ticket! Anichebe is the sad story here. I do not believe he is better than a motivated Yakubu but I feel he could have added a deferent dimension to our game and would have played his heart out for Nigeria. I think the guy can still be a fan favorite for club and country in the future. He should hold his head up high and enjoy his holiday’s then report early for pre-season training. I salute him as a Nigerian brother! Regardless of who made the final cut, it is going be a very difficult WC but if the coach is capable of blending this team tactically and mentally the second round is not beyond us. Thank you for reading. |

@Mcgbola Thanks for reading my post and no I'm not a publicist just a real fan of the Super Eagles like yourself. meanwhile, @Ranoscky & akyns I also want to thank you both for your lack of comprehension, it makes my point all the more clear! |
Hello all, I have just joined his forum and I’m quite excited to put some of my thought down here for the first time. Excuse me for asking, but why are most of us Nigerians so fickle? Let me clarify; this time last week after the Saudi match 75-90% of you out there where either questioning our manager, the NFF or the players in camp. After today’s game those same people seems to have started singing a different song!!! However, there are some of you out there that have been quite mature and articulate with their opinions… Thank God for some sensible Nigerians. The Nigerian National Football team is one of the most envied teams in Africa with an abundance of talent but no discipline. Lars Lagerback coming to our shores is the best thing that could have happened to our football in the past 10 years or more. I will not bore you with his credentials because I know that any serious Super Eagles fan would have already looked him up on google or Wikipedia. He may not be the most decorated coach out there, but what he brings to our team is structure and balance. Sweden as a country is one of the 10 best places to live in this world according to world experts. This has all to do with their ability to be organized and on time. Even England as a football nation can attest to this known fact. As a football lover I know this Oyibo man will DO HIS POSSIBLE BEST to make naija shine at the WC not withstanding the tools which he has been handed to work with. All you so called coaching experts out there did not even see what he was trying to do in our first game against Saudi… My people abeg make you realize say IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS!!! I have read a few of you’re posts today and noticed most people were not TOO anxious with our defense. This can partly be attributed to a good understanding of our defenders but also Dickson Etuhu in that holding role was SOLID. I know not too many of you out there will agree with me on the bases that he does not really posses twinkle toes and is not flamboyant enough but please know this my fellow football loving family, he is strong, he sticks to his assignment (discipline), he is NOT slow, he does not play himself or team mates into trouble and generally keeps it SIMPLE (ask Roy Hodgson). Most great teams have a good strong simple player like him in there midfield even Barcelona and Man U. This is a good example of having balance in your team. If you get a chance to watch this game again, this time without any tension, please notice how the Colombians found it difficult to get past him (Yusuf Ayila was not very useful) before even bothering the central defenders and also how Haruna Lukman had the confidence to go forward without braking the structure of our attack to compromise our defense. Our defensive worries today were more down the wings that central. Any of you out there that followed the EPL and Europa Cup this past league campaign can attest to the confidence Etuhu gives Fulham in midfield to allow more creative players do there thing. This guy will start alongside Mikel in the midfield… Lukman will be one of the few aces Lars Lagerback has up his sleeves! Do you really think this Swede will show the whole world his hand before the WC? My football loving family out there, I want you all to realize that there are 2 or 3 payers that will be in the final list who did not feature in any of the friendlies but have already impressed the coach in training… Let us ALL wake up and smell the ogbono soap, All you non believers out the will soon come down with a serious case of STOCKOLM SYNDROME!!! |
I may be a noob on here no doubt but pedigree on the global stage
