igbodefender:Ah, another long rant from you!! Try not to kill yourself over this issue of illegal refiners. Show me the principle of jurisprudence that supports illegal refining of stolen crude. Maybe then, I will take you seriously. |
MrAcube:Am not twisting anything. Hypocrisy runs in your veins which is why you are so ready to tag others with that silly label. Did Firdaus tell you she was ignorant of the proper mode of dressing for lawyers? Didn't she know that the head covering or hijab was not part of the prescribed dress code for lawyers, when she started studying law all the way to the law school? As for the pictures you showed in your previous post, I was unaware that a Sikh judge or Sikh lawyers were allowed to wear turbans as part of their dress code to appear in court. So how can someone be tagged a hypocrite, on account of something he is totally unaware of? Apart from that, I just learnt that Sikhs were allowed to wear their turbans as a result of a court ruling enacted in 2015. Does such a similar court ruling exist in Nigeria?? You are the one that needs to receive sense and stop twisting issues, o! Even Mariam Mukhtar Aloma who is a former Chief Justice of Nigeria from July 2012 to November 2014 and was called to the English Bar in November, 1966 did not wear a hijab under her lawyer's outfit to court, did she? |
MrAcube:These men are Sikhs. I didn't realise they were allowed to wear their turbans in court. I just saw an article now about how Sikh turbans were just allowed in the workplace in England, in 2015 following a court ruling. Does such a ruling exist in Nigeria? Kindly note that these Sikh men did not just show up in court one day, demanding to be given the right to wear their turban as part of their lawyer's uniform. But the Muslim Lady Firdaus you are defending attended University of Jos and Law School Abuja, and never made a fuss about wearing her hijab under her wig and gown until the day she was called to bar. Was she unaware of the strict dress code for lawyers, when she enrolled to study law? Why didn't she kick up a fuss when she started studying law or make a case for the adoption of the hijab as part of the lawyer's dress code, when she entered law school? She obviously likes needless controversy. Maybe hypocrisy runs in your family, but not in mine. Like another respondent called Daboss stated earlier: "Ignorance, nay stupidity is when you say something about someone you don't even know on a faceless forum with so much conviction." Now run along and go display your 'hypocrisy' somewhere else where it will be appreciated. No need for name calling. Maybe you are used to being a hypocrite, which is why you find it so easy to tag others as one. Thank you. Last word: the EU court has ruled against such types of religious dressing. Quebec in Canada has also refused to allow the use of head coverings such as turbans in the workplace. Anyway, the UK is no longer part of the EU, is it? It might have had to reverse its decision, if not for Brexit. Politicians on the right have welcomed a ruling by the EU’s highest court that allows companies to ban staff from wearing visible religious symbols, as a long-awaited legal judgment ricocheted into the French and Dutch election campaigns. |
igbodefender:Eewo! This matter dey pain you well, well o! Are you sure you are not one of those illegal refiners? I support entrepreneurs who do legitimate businesses, not the ones who break pipelines to steal crude and refine such stolen oil, illegally. There is no tribalism in my cobtributions. If the illegal refiners come from my tribe, I would say the same thing. Illegal miners of solid minerals come from my tribe, and I have never supported them once. This is about what is right, and what is wrong! Stop justifying illegitimate stealing and refining of crude. It says a lot about the kind of values you hold as a person. Oya, rant a bit more and release another long epistle! |
Bifrost:Wrong. Students in public universities do not have a sense of ownership, simply because of the way such public universities are run and the attention paid to students welfare. It has little or nothing to do with how much money such students pay as school fees. Even the amount you consider to be small, appears to be huge when you talk to indigent students from poor homes. The private universities have a more hands on approach to their students. It isn't possible in most private universities for a student to miss lectures for a month, without eyebrows being raised by all and sundry. But this can happen easily in a public uni and no lecturer would notice or be bothered, until it is time for tests and exams. Private universities give their students more "close marking" than public ones. |
Toosure70:How much do you earn? And how much have you saved up in your bank account?? |
Desyner:What about Babcock? Their school of medicine is one of the very best in Nigeria. Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State recorded a milestone in 2015, when their own first heart surgery operation was performed in the institution’s Teaching Hospital, by its doctors. The operation lasted six hours. The Tristate Heart and Vascular Centre, Babcock University Teaching Hospital, made history when they solely performed Cardiac Catheterization at the centre, earlier this year in March 2017. |
Elthugnificent:Hehehe.....hahaha....let us wait for his response. I was expecting to see the word "hijab" in black and white inside that verse. It only talks about how women should draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms). The wig is more than enough to cover the hair. The white collar can also be pulled higher up to cover the neck. And the gown does a good job of covering the bosom. So what else is left?? That Firdaus girl was just making a mountain out of a molehill. She attended Unilorin and NLS Abuja campus. Why didn't she lead a protest there asking for the hijab to be incorporated into the lawyer's attire, way back then? Why did she wait until the day of the call to bar, before raising the issue? She likes needless controversy, jare. |
MrAcube:Do not lie. Which lawyers and judges in UK put on items other than wigs, in court? Am not talking about outside the court, o! |
MrAcube:Please quote in black and white, the relevant section and clauses of the constitution that you are referring to, which supports your claims. Thanks. |
embraze5:Agreed! You have said it all!! |
Elthugnificent:Please I am right here beside you, waiting for him to show me the verse in the Quran that states women must wear a hijab. I have only seen references to modest dressing being made. And the wig and gown is modest enough, isn't it? |
emmie14:Your response just confirmed that you are actually the one with "little senseless exposure," which is why you launched this tirade that made little sense. I asked if you had been to Mombasa, Eldoret and Kisumu, after you had earlier lied that Nairobi was the only nice city in Kenya. Instead of answering the question, you exposed your lack of understanding by citing unrelated issues. For your information, I went to Kenya and different countries in East Africa on business, and also toured South Africa, Namibia and other parts of Southern Africa as well. Each of these countries is beautiful, in their own way. They each have their high-brow areas, and their slums like every other nation in the world.Hosting a world cup, is not an evidence of how beautiful or great a country is. Switzerland is one of the richest and most beautiful countries in the world, but had never hosted a world cup. So can you see how faulty your reasoning is? ![]() It would take a while to list all the foreign countries in Europe, America and Asia that I have visited. My career takes me round the world, so getting a visa is not a problem in my line of work. It is little kids like you that get tripped by such things. |
igbodefender:Each time you are asked a question, you come back with a long half-baked epistle full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. I have asked you questions about what the illegal refiners want, a few days ago, you could not answer. Now, you have gone back to square one to recycle the same empty rhetoric you were spinning earlier. When people lack valid points they resort to insults, just like you have done. Thank God, everyone here on this thread can read, and they can all see that the only "shameless heartless, myopic folk" here, is only you. It is not by force to run a refinery, so stop supporting illegality blindly. And yes, it will take me another 24 ,hours to respond to you, because I am busy earning good money from a legitimate job, unlike you who does nothing but defend illegal refiners, all day. Go and get a life! |
loshybab:NYSC has shorts that extend to the knee. Most corpers actually amend or adjust their NYSC uniforms to make it look fitted, shorter or more attractive on them. My own NYSC standard issue sportswear, given to meany years ago, ended at knee level. It was rather large for me. I had to take it to a tailor to adjust it to.my size. |
bamidelee:What human right? When she enrolled in the university to study law, was she told that a hijab is part of the official dress code for lawyers? Why try to change the dress code, at the last minute? Why didn't she start a campaign to be allowed to wear her hijab as part of her court dressing, when she started law school? profmallor:You do have a valid point. An Adamu Orisha adherent maybturn up wearing the outfit of an Eyo masquerade in court, one day. Abi, how you take see am....? |
Standardcosting:What is baseless about his comments? I don't get it, o!! The prescribed code of dressing for Nigerian lawyers has not changed. It is still the wig and gown. It is not (and has never been) the wig, gown and hijab . |
double0seven:No, he believes it is transparent and inadequate. Hahaha.... ![]() |
Standardcosting:Kindly stop comparing apples with coconuts. Before the Firdaus Amasa lady enrolled in a university to study law, wasn't she aware that the wig and gown was the prescribed mode of dressing for qualified lawyers? Did she see any guideline, regulation or circular stating that lawyers could wear their wig, gown and hijab? After spending a number of years to study law, she then decides to add the hijab to her lawyer's outfit. And she expects to be applauded for this??! |
emmie14:You have obviously not been to Kenya. Nairobi is not the only nice city they have. What about Mombasa?? What about Eldoret and Kisumu? Guy, step out of your enclave and visit other places, o! Don't confuse yourself by making claims about countries you know nothing about. |
igbodefender:You have just described yourself perfectly by saying you are an "empty vessel that makes loud noises." You even went further to call yourself a mumu. You then capped it all by confirming that "your own stupidity is so humongous." Very good. Keep it up. We all knew exactly what you were already, judging from the half-baked responses you kept churning out in each of your posts. Now that you have acknowledged it openly, you are on the right track to seeking a cure. ![]() And yes, it takes me a whole day to respond because I have a great job that keeps me busy, unlike you whose destiny begins and ends on Nairaland. Grow up. Get a life! |
pmc01:Do you know the job of a physiotherapist?! Why are you exposing your ignorance like this? |
igbodefender:Begged...who?? You? God have mercy! What have you been smoking? Did I not tell you to get out of my mentions, only for you to look for an excuse to get my attention again? Anyway, thanks for telling us in your own words, that you are nothing but a "dog that returns gingerly to its vomit as if it is ice cream, because you hadn't eaten and were hungry. " It explains a lot. You tried to show off initially, as if you had something important to say, only to later end up not making any sense whatsoever. What a pity. Your contributions have exposed how little you have upstairs. Accept my condolences. It is time for you to go back to school. |
okway:Wicked!! ![]() |
See the ugly mannerless yahoo-yahoo thing! Any girl that takes him up on this offer is daft and heading towards disaster.... |
AkpaMgbor:Abeg, I no fit laugh again.... Your statement just reminded me of how Moses received the 10 commandments on the mountain from the hand of God.Do you expect Martineverest' to go up to the mountain like Moses, to receive his own set of 'translations? |
raumdeuter:Oh no....this is too much! You are making me laugh so much. It isn't fair...stop it, please! ![]() |
igbodefender:See this kindergarten toddler. No be your fault. Na me even descend to your level. Everyone can read all the shallow, illogical, half-baked comments you have made on this thread. Nonsense and ingredients.... |
gentleiphy:Read the girl's comments again. She is not attracted to the doctor for a lot of reasons. But she definitely likes the Canada-based guy, even though she has not seen him. So my advise was for her to get to know all she can about him, before she makes up her mind. But I also let her know, that she might get to meet him, and lose interest in him at first sight. The 3rd option, is to start meeting single guys here. But she needs to have discarded the first two guys before she can proceed with this 3rd option. She needs to be free from both of them, before embarking on this course of action so she doesnt get confused, or end up cheating on anybody. Now, what is wrong with that? |
igbodefender:Quit mentioning me, joker! ![]() |
Sanchez01:I see.... ![]() |
igbodefender:Good, I am so glad that you said you do not want to hold discussions with me, as it is obvious that you have nothing tangible or sound to offer. All your examples are founded on conjecture and emotional outburst. ![]() You didn't even know there were govt approved guidelines in place to govern establishment of refineries until I pointed it out to you. Then you went off tangent and started contradicting yourself, by citing inaccurate examples. Oh, the illegal refiners cannot afford huge amounts as registration fees?? So what do they want? They want to set up their illegal refineries free of charge and be allowed to continue stealing crude from pipelines which other companies have spent huge amounts drilling and piping? They want to be left alone in order to operate their illegal refineries, with stolen crude? They want to be exempted from the technical specifications, regulations, engineering standards, environmental impact assessment tests and safety rules that govern the setting up of refineries? Or what? Wow!! Were you a court jester in your former life? Your comments are a good source of comic relief. ![]() |

. Won't be surprised though, because you sound like someone who would have multiple awards for Mumu Of The Year hanging all over his house as if mumuism is a good thing.
