Oops! maybe coz i'm very good at it n rarely go for local dishes... i'd rather we talked more about 'killer' ideas than food, dish, amala et al.... ok, lemme start... what if we have: 1). A reality tv show about real life debates like these or, 2.) TO MAKE IT IN LIFE, WE HAVE TO LEARN TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT BACKGOUND. I'm actually trying to make friends from 'every where' |

Whom you are most attracted to reflects the biology of your brain as much as the heat of your heart. And it may not have to do with us—it's all about the kids. By Helen Fisher, The most discussed traits of temperament are the "big five" personality factors: openness to new experience, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (or anxiety). These traits are stable across the life cycle; if you're curious when young, you're likely to be curious when older. Twin studies, as well as the universality and stability of these personality styles, point to a genetic basis. Since antiquity, poets, philosophers, and physicians have classified people into four styles of temperament. Plato called them the Artist, the Guardian, the Idealist, and the Rational. I theorize that these very broad basic styles of thinking and behaving are biologic trait clusters linked with specific constellations of genes, neurochemicals, and brain pathways, perhaps best described as genetic profiles. I hypothesize that we unconsciously gravitate to individuals with a somewhat different genetic profile—a strategy that evolved in tandem with human pair-bonding to enable our forebears to produce genetic variety in their young and raise infants with a wider array of parenting skills. ---------NOW..., WHERE WERE WE CONNECTED?----------- Moremi in Yoruba history loved and seduced the Igbo. While many were forced to change their confrontations and assimilated; marauders were expelled. The Yoruba method of accommodation and assimilation to attract other ethnic groups squarely fall on their skills in traditional medicine, mathematical skill counting into thousands to millions, marks as beauty on women and men bodies where they cannot be easily visible and of course in arts and carvingsthat others recognize as tattoo, ethnic marks to the distinguished. ---------NOW------- I think our Chemistries are rebonding... |
PROUD!!! VERY VERY PROUD... people love us, they envy us, they want tobe like us, they want to learn from us, they wish there boyfriends are like us, they pray there male children are like us, they accommodate us, thry cant be proud. Most of it all, we havr more than a bargaining power |
Oops! Rasicm is alive, even in Nigeria @tpia... despite the fact that the negative effects can be more conspicous, you still have to know that it has its advantage: versatality (even in people's background) is a very useful weapon. It gives people like us the ability to see two sides of a coin(s). you see... i speak yoruba, my mum's tongue and a lil hausa. I now see its positive effects as i now speak German, French and a lil spanish inclusive. You see... VERSATALITY!!! It really helps 'if you are willing to let it' so... everyone, how i wish you enjoy what i'm enjoying... ![]() lady: Sprechen sie Deutsche? me: ja, meine Deutsche is sehr gut... lady: wow that's great. hmm... can we hook up tonight.. me: hmm, imma be busy buh 2mao nite will be perfect. lady: Ok, I'll come around. me: Tchùs lady: smiles* Imagine that! Versatality comes in handy in different and every aspect of our daily interelationship. ![]() Wish for it, my friends. |
sounds cute n direct but, hmmm... stuffs like these get really wierd you know-? well... i'm actually working on not caring 'bout people's opinion in my personal life again as the only people i'm acttracted to (nowadays) are those that believe and uphold my cause'. no matter what whoever is |
well... truely said!!! despite the fact that our environment has influences on how shapened our lives are (including our utterances and how we couple them into our individual lives), we are still who we are. while i was still in Nigeria, i had an igbo girl i was seeing-: my parents didnt complain about it at all but... the friends (ext. family) n 'well-wishers' who are all yorubas have their reservations. considering whom my father is, i tried to satisfy both sides (balancing yoruba and my beloved igbo). I'm sure you know that when things come to this... one has to be reservatively smart in handling the situation as everything might bounce back on my mum(who is not a yoruba). This puzzle you are trying to solve is a very clumsy one, putting in mind that most of these people's education levels are low. |
Hmm... cool thread!!! Lemme say, from my point of view... Meine mutti ist aus central Nigeria und vati, a typical yoruba man. No big deal at home, although, as the OP had said-, tribalistic shits happen at home sometimes but non of them has in any way preached to me against any relationship with the easterners.... not until my paternal grandfather and some of my dad's friends sat me down(as the first child and only son). They told me specifically not to ever get married to an igbo woman. I asked several questions to know why it became as serious as they tagged it--,, all they had to say had a common tag "mo gbó (i heard) or wón so mí (they said)". I personally believe that despite the fact that we have our differences, history had its cut against the relationship some igbos (or "tagged" igbos) had had with foreigners. like boiling them alive or sacrificing of any sort.... them say, them say |
baysol: V official: You hardly can distinguish between immorality and immortality and yet you want to comment like an intellect that you are not. why comment on issues you are incompetent to judgenor have a clue to decifer accurately. Alot of you guys cannot even atticulate on issues except to derail them because of their moral and intellectual ineptitude but want to be seen as a commentatator. If you must know, their are great stories that can come from high schools in Nigeria no doubt but most of our stories should not be centred on negative things as mentioned earlier as a lot of negative legacies have started doing their rounds in Nigeria education system nowadays.young man, people like us gain from people like you. learn to criticize constructively and make a reputable contribution to whatever ur cause is- so that everybody can gain from ur upgrade. produce the movies u will be proud of and i'm sure u'll become a chief in ur village in no time... |
Hey guyz.... I jus remembrd som'n a friend of mine did buh i dunno if tz possible from Nigeria. Abroad, like in america or europe-, you can serve as an intern in companies you desire... lets say u love a particular company, u can apply to them for internship (even with only high school diploma: our SSCE©: ) :::: I guess that might also be applicable for people interested in movie production [although, u still need to have some bargaining powers(when the short movies come in handy)]. Just search for, lets say....."movie production companies in New York". pick a company at a time, go to their websites... find and click where you can see "careers" or "job" or "work here". After reading their criteria, make a cute and enticing CV/ resumé (research hard for that or contact me for advise), then... get a cute and also enticing "cover letter", "motivation letter" or whatever name tz given. Apply, stating bodly the link(s) to your youtube page(s). ...then, Pray hard to whatever or whoever you believe in-, coz tz not easy dealing with 'we' Nigerians. Good Luck!!!! |
adorebee: kip it up!!!and pls dnt listen to any1.including you? :-! |
...so cute someone likes it. @all, keep it flowing guys.. drop ideas and contribution, say whatever u're thinking out... |
@Guys, I'm thinking of som'n and i actually started working with my grannies (both)-, i'm trying to create a "virtual Nigerian musuem online". I basically dunno where to start at the moment buh i think any body with cute ideas about it should get back to me. Thanks. |
baysol: You mean we should teach the would through high school movies how to cheat in exams. How teachers mess around with female students for marks and other pervertive tendences in Nigerian Education system. Mine is let the head that is sick (GEJ and his croonies) be healed first and the society sanitised then only then will I support these kind of films or movies. Haven't Nigeria tought the world enough negative lifestyle in witch craft which is now being revived worldwide and still spreading like wild fire because of uncensored NOLLYWOOD movies.Just like saying americans are advertising immotality, right?... when u c or hear new ireas from people interested in real change, dont criticize unless its constructive-, i'm sure you're one of those people that cant do without borrowing those "bad nollywood" film from ur neighbours ![]() |
@mimi ...jus checkd through ur post, gues u've gotn some fool ideas or u jus hiding under collars of ur brozs n sizs- any, If it's for entertainment-, i think Calabar is a v.nice destination coz of the popularity Tinapa gained for the City buh considering the profitability, imma advice Abuja (if the people involve are really willing to invest) people in the City are rich and are willing to pay for comfort (not forgetn the fact that the comng park must beat he existing ones). 2.)Talking about profitability, a top Class Casino is the best in Abuja 3.)I gave the idea of Hostel to a "daddy friend". might be useful... 4.) The best is to sell Nigeria to the highest bidder, if ur uncle and/or u are interested, i'm willing to give anybody the formula ![]() ... I've gotn some cool ideas if ur really interested. Tshüs |
