Many Fear Dead As Petrol Tanker Explodes in Ondo State
Tragedy struck on Sunday when 15 persons were reportedly burnt to death after a tanker exploded at Ore, Odigbo Local government area, Ondo State.

According to a source in the area, who spoke with divinevibestv, the explosion occurred when the fuel was ignited by a spark from a phone held by one of the people who was scooping fuel that spilled from a tanker.

The source, who gave her name as Nireti, disclosed that the incident happened along Showboy Road, adjacent to a filling station in Ore.

She narrated that after losing control, the truck spilled its contents on the road, after which people began to rush in order to scoop fuel.

The source, a trader in the area, added that over 15 bodies were roasted in the inferno, including three children and a pregnant woman.

She said: “I was in my shop when I heard the tanker fall. The rain was also falling. People were taking fuel when fire started after a spark from a phone.

“Three children died, and we have counted over 15 bodies. A pregnant woman who wanted to buy the fuel also died. The money is still with her.”

Meanwhile, another eye witness identified as Cyriacus said they were inside the church when the tanker fell and spilled its contents on the road.

Cyriacus stated that some persons rushed to scoop fuel despite being warned by their Cleric.

He said: “We were inside the church when we heard that tanker fell. The rain was also falling. People were taking fuel when fire started after a spark from a phone.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, when contacted, said she was yet to get details of the incident.

A new Operation, Hakorin Damisa IV has been launched in Mangu local government area, Plateau State by the Nigerian Army as a launchpad to tackle the emerging insecurity in the local government area.

That is the way you build confidence and trust. As your COAS, my philosophy will be driven by leadership, operational effectiveness and sound administration.

You are not deployed here to play but to conduct an operation and you must do that and be guided by the rules of engagement. Whoever is carrying a military-grade weapon or any other w£apon, you must recover those w£apons from them. You must not take sides. Lagos port on fire, millions of Naira lost

There was pandemonium on Thursday evening at Terminal C of the Tin-Can Island Port, which is under the management of Port & Cargo Handling Services (P&CHS), a subsidiary of Sifax Group, following a fire outbreak which razed a crane that was positioned near a container vessel at berth.

Details of the cause of the fire couldn’t be ascertained as of the time of filing in this report, but a source inside P&CHS told newsmen that the fire was put out within thirty minutes that it started.

The Police on Thursday said they have arrested a suspect over the Oct. 21, 2022 attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministeries along Benin-Auchi road.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said this at a media briefing in Abuja.

Adejobi said the suspect was a member of the seven-man gang responsible for the attack on the convoy of the clergyman where six people, including three police officers were gruesomely murdered.

He said the suspect was apprehended following intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy, adding that he will be charged for conspiracy, attempted murder and murder.

Adejobi said five AK47 Rifles, 2 K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and four suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) were recovered from the suspect’s apartment.

Four Killed In Auchi Polytechnic Cult Clash



No fewer than four persons have been reportedly killed, following a renewed cult war between rival groups in Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, the Administrative Headquarters of Etsako West Local Area of Edo…

It was gathered that the victims were killed in different locations during a violent clash between the and Supreme Vikings confraternities.

It was learnt that the incident that led to cult killings occurred on Saturday, June 24 when a National Youth Service Corpse member alleged to be a member of the confraternity was shot by the rival Supreme Vikings Confraternity.

The alleged NYSC member according to sources was later rushed to the hospital for treatment and had since been discharged.

It was scooped further that in a reprisal attack, a member of Vickings group was reportedly killed around Mr. Biggs in Jattu, Auchi

While three other victims were shot dead around Mechanic Site, Vacchi and Winners Road, all in Auchi.

However, there was a report on Friday morning alleging some lecturers of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi to have abandoned invigilation of SPAT Examinations over their alleged involvement in cultism.

But in a quick response, the Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Mrs. Adebola Ogunboyowa, debunked the allegations, maintaining that the school ended its SPAT examinations on Friday as students are expected to vocate hall of residence on Saturday.

She said: “The allegation is not true. But in the first place, whatever is happening, maybe the issue of cult clashes, nothing happened in the polytechnic community.

“As I speak to you right now (to our Correspendent yesterday), I am in school and nothing is happening within the polytechnic community.

“Whatever is happening outside the polytechnic community because we have surrounding host communities, we have no power over it”, she said

A video going viral on social media has shown moment a coffin was being carried to a house with the pallbearers claming the deceased has refused to be buried and instead, was leading  to the house of the person who allegedly killed her.

Gunmen kill RCCG pastor, abduct seven worshippers in Ogun state

Seven people, who were abducted in an attack during night prayers at an RCCG church in southwestern Nigeria, have been rescued, officials say.

The pastor of the church was killed in the attack which will challenge the new security chiefs recently appointed by President Bola Tinubu.

Gunmen had stormed the church in Ogun State and killed a preacher before abducting the worshippers on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Abule Ori, Obafemi Owode municipality.

Police said they tracked down the suspects shortly after the attack and fatally shot one of them.

“The seven victims were rescued unhurt, while one of the kidnappers was killed and many of the suspects sustained serious injuries during an exchange of gunfire,” Ogun State head of security, Soji Ganzallo, said.

Southwestern Nigeria has witnessed several cases of abductions and killings, prompting six governors from the region to launch a policing initiative to support and supplement the national police service, “but not replace it.”

In 2020, the governors agreed to regularise the operations of Amotekun, a security network previously outlawed by the Nigerian government.

In efforts to tackle insecurity, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu on June 5 asked security officers in the country to share intelligence among themselves, saying hoarding such crucial information was counterproductive to the war against insurgency.

“The effort of the entire armed forces of this country must be put together in a way that there will be one single focus on securing the country,” he said in the capital Abuja, when he visited the office of the national security adviser.

“You can’t have disharmony in an orchestra. We must focus on one tunnel: coordinate, share information, share intelligence and work harder,” added Tinubu.

Gov Adeleke storms out of Eid after clash with ex-Senate spokesman

Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke left the Osogbo Eid prayer ground angrily after he clashed with ex-senate spokesperson, Ajibola Basiru over sitting arrangement.

Basiru arrived the Eid prayer ground with Asiwaju of Osogbo, Chief Tunde Badmus and other prominent sons of Osogbo to observe two rakat congregational prayer.

@goldmynetv learnt that Basiru sat on the reserved front-row seat but a protocol of Adeleke approached to inform him it was the seat kept for the Governor.

Basiru then changed his seat to another front row seat, which the protocol still kicked against.

Just about then, Governor Adeleke arrived the Eid prayer ground and Chief Badmus left his seat to welcome him from the gate of the prayer ground.

On his arrival, it was noticed that the protocol of the Governor insisted that Basiru should leave the front row, which some indigenes resisted on the basis Basiru is one of their prominent sons.

The scene led to an uproar and Adeleke left the area back to his car.

After some minutes, he returned and noticed that Basiru was still sitting in the front row. He then left angrily without praying.

Shortly after the Governor left, Police operatiws arrived the prayer ground and shut the gate, worshippers that they were to arrest Basiru on the instructions of the Government.

The worshippers resisted and forced the gate open.

The Turakat prayer was observed by Basiru and other prominent indigenes of Osogbo after which they all left the prayer ground.
