Police arrest over 100 suspected homosexuals holding gay wedding in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has arrested over 100 gay suspects carrying out a gay wedding ceremony in a hotel in the state.

A statement issued on its official social media accounts on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, said the suspects will be paraded this morning.

“Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects," the statement read.

Emefiele dragged before court over alleged N6.9bn procurement fraud

The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, appeared before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja over N6.9 billion alleged procurement fraud.

His arraignment was however stalled due to the absence of the second defendant who are said to be indisposed.

Although Emefiele who is the first defendant was present in court, the second defendant, a female CBN employee, Sa’adatu Yaro, was not in court.

Following an application for adjournment, the Presiding Judge, Justice Hamza Muazu adjourned the matter to August 23, 2023.

Emefiele will be arraigned alongside Yaro and her company, April1616 Investment Limited on 20 charges of procurement fraud, conspiracy and conferring corrupt advantages on his associates.

Emefiele has been accused of conferring corrupt advantages on Yaro, a director in April 1616 Investment Ltd.

In the charges signed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mohammed Abubakar; Deputy Director, Public Prosecution, Mrs Nkiru Jones-Nebo and eight other ministry officials, the three accused persons were alleged to have bought a fleet of over 98 exotic vehicles and armoured buses valued at about N6.9bn.

Sharing the reason for the fallout during a meeting with PDP members, Obaseki recalled how the Shaibu refused attending a meeting for selection of Commissioners, but instead travelled to Abuja.

The Edo state Governor said upon his return to the state and after the state house of assembly was inducted, Shaibu allegedly called APC chieftains, telling them that he has five PDP members that are loyal to him and who will work with APC state lawmakers to produce a speaker.

Obaseki who described this as a coup, said he convened a meeting with PDP members at his private apartment after being told of Shaibu’s alleged dealings.

He also disclosed that Shaibu tried barging into the meeting which wasn’t held at the state house, but was turned back because he now knows they don’t have a common interest.

Obaseki described Shaibu as a desperate man who can do anything to become Governor. He also accused him of lying in the affidavit filed before the court, to stop any impeachment proceedings against home.

Suspected Cultist Kills A 20-Year-Old Man For Wearing Red Beret In Delta State

Sele-ebi, a native of Torugbene, was killed on Friday as he visited Tuomo community both communities are in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.


 
A 20-year-old Nigerian man, Sele-ebi Ware-ebi has been killed by a suspected cultist.
 
The victim was repeatedly stabbed for putting on red beret in Tuomo community of Delta State.
 
According to Vanguard, Sele-ebi, a native of Torugbene, was killed on Friday as he visited Tuomo community both communities are in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
 
Vanguard gathered that the cultist was later tied with the corpse of the victim before being lynched by aggrieved mob of his community to prevent what could lead to communal crisis.
 
According to a source, the cultist demanded N5,000 from Sele-ebi for putting on his cult’s coloured beret, failure of which the cultist brought out dagger and stabbed the man to death.
 
The source added that the beret worn by the victim was meant for church activities before the cultist attacked him.
 
In his words, “A Tuomo man, who is alleged cultist, stopped a Torugbene man, who wore a beret. The cultist asked the Torugbene man why he put on this group’s beret.
 
Argument then ensued between both in which the Torugbene man said it was his church’s beret.
 
“Then the Tuomo man demanded N5,000 before he would let the Torugbene man go. The Torugbene man said he doesn’t have money. Then, the Tuomo man brought out a dagger and stabbed the Torugbene man to death.
 
“Tuomo community people then tied their son down and rushed the victim to hospital. Unfortunately, the man died. So, they tied their son with the dead body and was later beaten to death.”

MC Oluomo, rolls out relief package for Lagos bus drivers, passengers

Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages (LASPG), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) has announced relief packages to cushion the petrol subsidy removal pain.

The packages, he said, cut across commercial bus drivers and passengers.

He said the tickets given to drivers at parks for N800 will now be sold for N600.

For passengers, Akinsanya said routes where transport fare is N500 has been reduced to N300 while those paying N200 for fare will now pay N150.

He added that commercial motorcycles (Okada riders) and tricycles (Keke Marwa) operators will gave 25 per cent reduction in the tickets bought from the union.

He announced a task force team that would monitor the implementation of the directives.

Akinsanya warned various parks and garages’ executives to ensure compliance, stating that sanctions would be meted on defaulters.

The task force will be led by all members of state executives, parks’ chairmen and selected union leaders.

He said that the agency will do all it could not to inconvenience the masses, hence the timely intervention.

Chopper crashes into residential area in Lagos

A chopper has crashed into a residential area in the Oba Akran area in Ikeja, Lagos State. The helicopter immediately burst into flames after landing. Officers of the Lagos Fire Service, RRS, LASTMA, FAAN are all on ground at the scene.

Two people believed to be the pilots of the helicopter have been rescued. It is however unclear if there were other passengers on board the ill-fated chopper.

Residents of Imo state have celebrated men of the state police command for swiftly preventing a robbery incident at a jewelry shop in Ikeneagbu area of the state on Saturday, July 29. Confirming the robbery incident, the spokesperson of the command, ASP Henry Okoye, said the assailants numbering about seven, armed with sophisticated weapons and with some of them in military apparels, came with a white Hilux covered plate number and were robbing a Jewelry shop situated at Ikeneagbu in Imo State.

‘’On the receipt of this information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, psc(+), promptly mobilized the Command’s Tactical team and personally led the operatives to the scene.

On sighting police operatives, the hoodlums opened fire but were overwhelmed by the dexterity showcased by the gallant operatives who professionally maneuvered into vintage position and return fire which forced the hoodlums to succumb to their superior fire power. In the gun duel that ensued, one of the hoodlum was neutralized, two were arrested while others escaped with various degrees of gunshot injuries.’’ Okoye said

He mentioned that items recovered from them include Two(2) pump action guns, Four (4) locally made pistol, Eight rounds of live cartridges, one (1) expanded cartridges, a white helix used for the operation with reg.no BRR 586 XA i.e. after removing the black cloth used in covering the plate number, Jewries valued millions of naira, Two military under polo, Two special forces t-shirts, Face Mask and bags containing other stolen items were recovered.

Niger-Delta leader, Asari Dokubo has said that he will become the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He made the declaration during a trending video, saying that when the time comes he will take the highest seat in the land even if people call him a “thug or terrorist”.

According to him, the constitution clearly states that all citizens are equal and have the right to contest for political office.

Soldiers announce a coup in Niger Republic on National television, President Bazoum regime has been toppled with this military coup

Colonel Amadou Abdramane, who appeared to be among the leaders of the coup, took the centre position during the announcement, with nine other officers in military fatigues standing beside him.

Mr Abdramane addressed Mr Bazoum directly, saying the soldiers seized power to “put an end to the regime that you know due to the deteriorating security situation and bad governance.”

Mr Bazoum was eventually ousted despite widespread condemnation that greeted his detention. President Bola Tinubu quickly rejected earlier attempts by the military to seize power and sent a delegation to the country, which is Nigeria’s neighbour to the north.

Mr Tinubu had warned earlier this month that West African nations would no longer tolerate violent seizures of power in the sub-region.
