Mother was killed by his Son in Rivers for refusing to give him N20,000

A young man identified as Owate Bode has k!lled his mother for refusing to give him N20,000 in Rivers State. 

The incident happened in Aleto community, Eleme Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, May 13, 2023. 

The  man said he approached his mother requesting for N20, 000 to enable him attend a funeral in the community but could not get the desired response from the woman. 

He claimed his mother after withdrawing N20,000 from "his account," only gave him N10,000, which he insisted was not enough.

Things however went out of control when The boy now picked up a hoe and hit his mother on the head. The woman’s head was ripped open and she fell in a pool of bl00d. She d!Ed instantly.

The suspect was thereafter, apprehended by the community youths and handed over to the police, while the corpse has been deposited at a morgue in the area.

During interrogation, Bode who didn't seem remorseful for k!lling his mother, claimed to be mentally unstable. He said he choose to "finish" his mum for refusing to give him his money and insulting him. He further stated that he is tired of living and wants to d*e.

Spokesperson of the state Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident said that the younger man is in police custody.

Couple arrested for allegedly using pestle and heated knife to assault their 9-year-old househelp

A Nigerian woman simply identified as Blessing and her husband have been arrested for allegedly assaulting their 9-year-old house-help identified as Idinma. Videos of Idinma with a swollen face and different body injuries surfaced online on Friday, May 12. Nigerians have taken to social media to condemn the action of the couple after the viral videos showed serious injuries inflicted on Idinma allegedly by the couple.

According to reports, the nursing mum who welcomed a set of twins in March, allegedly gave the minor the beating of her life after she fell one of her babies that she was cradling. Skit maker, Lord Zeus, who has been following the case, said Idinma among many things was denied access to education as her benefactors stopped her from going to school. He also shared a video of Idinma currently in a hospital receiving medical attention for the injuries she sustained from the assault allegedlly meted on her by her benefactors.

Former Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor popularly known as Saint Obi dies after a prolonged illness.

The iconic actor, 57, reportedly passed away on Monday May 7, following months of visiting the hospital for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

He was said to be staying in his sister's home in Jos when he died. Details of his passing is being kept under wraps by his family.

Moment the Ekweremadus and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, were sentenced by a judge at the Central Criminal Court also known as Old Bailey.

LIB reported that the soldiers invaded the head office of the company on Saturday, April 29, 2023, over 'disconnection' of electricity at Dukku Barracks in Birnin Kebbi and allegedly beat up customers and staff on duty.

Abdulazeez Abdullahi, Head, Corporate Communication, Kaduna Electric, who condemned the incident in a statement on Sunday, said the military never lodged any complaint regarding its services or any perceived grievances it might have had with the company before attacking its staff.



“We condemn in strong terms the molestation of our staff by men of the Nigerian Army in Birnin Kebbi. The armed soldiers invaded our premises Saturday afternoon and unleashed mayhem on unsuspecting staff and customers alike,” he stated.

A yet-to-be identified self-acclaimed pastor has been paraded for allegedly impr£gnating his church members in Umuidoko Ogrute In Enugu Ezike, Enugu State.

It is reported that he was caught on Friday, April 28, when one of his female members revealed to her family that her pastor was responsible for her pregnancy.

A source reports, “This man has a church and goes to the mountain with his female church members for prayers. It was revealed that 99% of his church members are women who aren’t from the community. He always gives them visions to help them get married to rich men. The women desperate for a miracle, visit his church for solution and never return home to their families.

We gathered that he takes them to a mountain where he built a small hut and sl££ps with them on rotational basis. When the victims get pregnant, he will order them to t£rminat£ it.

Unfortunately for him, one of his victims was accosted by her family members and she explained how she got pregnant. Her revelation made irate youth pay the church a courtesy visit.

Police arrest kidnappers in police vests for abducting a man in Anambra

Three members of a criminal gang of kidnappers have been arrested by a joint security operatives in Aguata Council Area of Anambra State for abducting a man at Mkpuota.

They were arrested on Thursday April 27. The arrested hoodlums are: Chinonso Offor, Hycent Ugwuike, and Samuel Sunday.

The suspects were arrested after a g¥n duel between them and security operatives. The victim was rescued in the process.

It would be recalled that in a trending video. men in a prado jeep double-crossed the man in the grey Lexus jeep then forced him into their Black Prado car. They then zoomed off with the man and his car. The eyewitness who filmed the video said he doesn't know the group responsible for the abduction but they were wearing the police polo. “They are wearing police polo but they are not police officers. They are kidnappers. They are thieves," the voice filming is heard saying in the video.

Confirming the incident to the Press, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikéngà said that the hoodlums confessed to the Anambra State Police operatives as being members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Federal Government, on Wednesday, said it has spent $1.2m to deploy 40 buses for the evacuation of about 2,400 stranded Nigerians out of Sudan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Minister said the amount for the evacuation includes the provision of security cover for the eight-hour journey from Luxol to Cairo and the eleven-hour trip from Aswan to Cairo, Egypt.

He said that the outcome of the proceedings at the council meeting was overshadowed by plans of the Nigerian government to safely evacuate its citizens from the w@r-torn sudan. Although the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces agreed to halt hostilities at midnight Monday, local media reports that fighting had resumed even as a hospital was shelled on Wednesday.

Onyeama, who noted that no Nigerian lost their lives in the conflict, said there are no talks about alternative plans for continued education for the evacuees, most of whom are students of the University of Khartoum.

Recall that about 40 buses were sent to move Nigerians out of Khartoum and other troubled parts of Sudan early Wednesday.
The Nigerian Diaspora Commission had explained that the evacuation planned for Tuesday failed due to logistic challenges. Chairperson of the Commission, Hon.
