Religion / The Epidemiology Of Greed-by Azemobor Gregory by VOICEOFDIVINE: 12:42pm On Apr 13, 2020
The Epidemiology of Greed

By Azemobor Gregory

Epidemiology is a specialized branch of medicine that deals with the incidence, distribution and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health. The immense contributions of this branch of medicine to society, particularly in discovering the causes and treatments of various infections that had hitherto plagued our contemporary world, cannot be overemphasized. We are all aware that presently, the world is battling to curtail the corona virus pandemic, and that medical researchers and epidemiologist have assiduously gone to work , day and night, to unravel and find a lasting cure to this pestilence in the midst of a total lockdown declared by various governments of the world. And hopefully, a solution is in the offing and this plague will certainly pass away!

But while acknowledging the exploits of medical researchers for their landmark advancement in public health worldwide, this discourse would however, specifically beam a searchlight on a subtle global pandemic that is annihilating humanity. This ailment is deadlier than COVID-19, the novel corona virus, which has infected millions of people and killed hundreds of thousands, as I write this piece. Ladies and gentlemen we are all familiar with this sickness, we often use the word casually in most of our daily conversations and many of us even sermonize with it. This popular but largely disdained moral indisposition is called GREED.

But sadly, this nocuous malady that is plaguing the world has not only evaded the scientific observation and detection of sophisticated medical science, but has also developed into a culture that is validated and strengthened by the politics and socio-economic ecosystems of the world. No government or international organization has ever declared ‘greed’ as an epidemic not to talk of being a pandemic in spite of its depredating effect on mankind

Now greed is defined as an intense selfish desire to acquire and accumulate what we do not need for basic survival. Such craving is abnormal to our original nature as humans. it is a contamination of our essence. The negative impact of avarice on the overall health of society is seen in the prevalence of deprivation and poverty mostly suffered by the less privilege . Comparatively, poverty ranks with some of the most prominent causes of death in the world. Numerous people die daily as a result of hunger, malnutrition and inability to afford basic health care.

Now, let me show you some statistics on hunger as a leading cause of death, released by www.theworldcounts.com: This statistics on their website show that about 9 million people die every year of hunger and hunger-related diseases. This is more than from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

-A child dies from hunger every 10 seconds .

-Poor nutrition and hunger is responsible for the death of 3.1 million children a year. That’s nearly half of all deaths in children under the age of 5. The children die because their bodies lack basic nutrients.

-Globally, 822 million people suffer from undernourishment.

Another statistics on the incidence of poverty is even more horrific: Nearly half of the world population- more than 3 billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty- less than $1.25 aday. Coming to Nigeria, the figure of people living in extreme destitution is even frightening- over 90 million people are extremely poor- surviving on less than $1.00 a day.

This quantum of fatalities attributed to hunger and hunger-related conditions is indeed appalling and mindboggling. But the pertinent questions we should be asking ourselves are: Why should people go hungry and even die in the process? Does it mean there is an acute shortage of food in the world for them to eat? No! The truth is that we have enough supplies to feed anybody that is famished. But hunger will persist as long as long as greed exists in the heart of men. Mahatma Ghandi was right afterall, when he asseverated that

“The earth has enough to meet our needs not enough to meet our greed”.

Now hear this. Greed is a terminal moral ailment that afflicts the soul of man. It contaminates the heart and poisons our compassion to love and share with one another. It is a moral ill-health and the symptoms are manifested in lustful cravings for material possessions and inordinate accumulations. It is cancerous and contagious. Humans were created with the heart to love – to love means to share our lives with others, to give of ourselves to support the livelihood of others. This is called the principle of fruitfulness. In others words, your life ought to produce ‘fruit’ (provision) to sustain the existence of others. Can you imagine what will happen to man and animals if plants refuse to bear fruit for us to eat. Do you know what that means? But ironically many of us are living ‘fruitless’ lives occasion by greed.

The bitter reality is that many of us go about chronically infested with this injurious virus called greed, and we are oblivious of the health implication on our souls and the negative impact on society.. Greed is not a novel disease because its occurrence dates back to time immemorial. Its malignance has festered over the years because we don’t understand its epidemiology. Unlike covid-19 which is an infection of the physical body, greed is a contamination of the soul.

Medical researchers who study the incidence, distribution and control of diseases lack the expertise to unravel the epidemiology of greed because it is not an ailment of the body. Religious teachers who are supposed to be authorities in moral issues are themselves consumed by the pestilence of greed. The society is not left out either. Our social infrastructure is built on the malady of acquisitiveness. The economic system has also institutionalized cupidity using materialism and primitive accumulation as a parameter for wealth and success

The time for self-diagnosis as individuals is now! Check your desires and cravings. If the only thing that makes meaning to you in life, is to have money and more money only for selfish use, my dear you are sick. The virus of greed is ravaging your soul. You must learn to differentiate between wants and needs. You can do without your wants- things you acquire for the sake of your ego and luxury.

Fortunately, greed has a ‘cure’. Are you surprised? Yes the cure for greed is ‘giving’- giving back to society and offering selfless service to humanity. Why do you think that most extremely rich people like Bill Gate and Warren Buffet and many others, after amassing so much wealth, set up foundations or initiatives to impact society with their riches? They understand the therapeutic effect of such gesture to their afflicted souls. You may not need to be extremely rich to practice a lifestyle of giving. Learn to share the little you have right now with someone that has none. Make a daily commitment to give joy and hope to the needy and the less privilege around you. Therein lies the perfect health of your soul.

Religion / The God You Seek Is Within-by Azemobor Gregory by VOICEOFDIVINE: 5:13pm On Apr 11, 2020
The God You Seek is Within!

By Azemobor Gregory

The bewilderment that awaits many of us that are religious zealots, is the ultimate realization that religion is an organized scam, a man-made boondoggle designed to delude mankind from the knowledge of the true God. Many of us grew up tutored and programmed to accept the religion practised by our parents, and this to a large extent shaped our piety and beliefs. Also, the part of the world where you were born would invariably influence your religious orientation and affiliation.

The greatest malfeasance of religion, however, is the misrepresentation of God to mankind. The account of the identity and nature of God given by religion is a subtle chicanery to hoodwink humanity. To put it plainly, many us have no knowledge of the true God other than the imaginary picture painted by our religion. The ‘God’ we think we know as religious devotees, is an invention of man, and not the true God. I know this truth could be difficult for many of us who are hypnotized by religious doctrines to comprehend, and in fact the salient message of this piece could be dismissed as the ‘ranting of an anti-Christ’. But before you wave this ‘revelation’ away, let me show you how your religion has misled you into worshipping an ‘unknown God’. Follow me……..

The difference between the True God and Religious ‘God’

1. The true God is the supreme being who is the creator and owner of the universe, The religious ‘God’ is a human concept , a man-made phenomenon

2. The true God is one indivisible entity. The religious ‘God’ has a plural identity. Every religion, sects or denomination have their unique ‘Gods’ that is different from one another

3. The true God does not recognize any religion and He is not the author of any religion propagated by man

4. The true God is real, He is the Force of life behind the universe. The reality of this ‘Force’ is seen in His ubiquitous creations. The physical earth is a sublime evidence of His actuality . The religious ‘God’ is fake, unreal and a mere deception

5. The true God does not need any ‘holy book’ to communicate with us. He speaks to our hearts as our ‘ moral conscience’ ‘Holy books’ are man-made written fables, traditions and doctrines designed to brain wash and control the minds of people

6. The true God operates by natural laws or principles that govern the universe. They are unwritten and infallible. They apply to every of God’s creation. The religious ‘God’ operate by creed and doctrines codified in man-made ‘holy books’

7. The true God does not dwell in man-made temples. He dwells in the heart of men

8. To serve humanity is no serve the true God. Service to religious ‘God ‘is done through complicated rituals and activities

9. Righteousness before the True God is defined by a life of purpose and service to humanity, but religious righteousness is a measure of your adherence to man-made doctrines

10. The true God created us to manifest his creative and moral nature on earth. but religion is preparing his followers for an ‘imaginary heaven or paradise’

11. The true God communicates and speaks to us directly in our hearts. He does not need the intermediary of clergymen, who are mere custodians of organized religious traditions

12. The true God does not discriminate among humans, we all belong to him. He is God to all. The religious ‘God’ is God only to the faithful believers of each religion

The true God is a spirit that dwells in our heart, who constantly seeks expression in our moral conduct and good deeds to others. This is the concept of SPIRITUALITY!

You have lived a lie all your life!!!

IT IS TIME TO FREE YOURSELF FROM THE DECEPTION AND BONDAGE OF RELIGION.

The God you seek is within!

How Nigerian Banks Rob the Poor

BY DR. OLUFUNMILAYO
'I have lived in UK a few years now and NEVER has my bank ever charged me one penny for bank transfer.
NEVER. NOT ONCE.

I’m sorry. But that 52 naira 50kobo that Nigerian banks deduct per transaction, what exactly is it for?

Why is no one speaking out against this blatant fraud?

Next is the fraudulent “Card Maintenance Fees” by our Nigerian banks. Please how are you maintaining a card that lives in my wallet?

I have about 3-4 UK Bank Cards here. Both credit cards and debit cards.
I have NEVER paid any such thing as a “Card Maintenance Fee”.
NEVER EVER.

The Nigerian Banking Sector is an unfortunately over-bloated industry that thrives on systemically entrenched policies that terribly defrauds us Nigerians and lives on cheating the average citizen of the hard earned money that is entrusted in their care to help save and invest.

You want to send money to someone from your Nigerian bank account and you first have to plan an extra 52 naira 50kobo.

Money that is electronically sent from one Nigerian bank account to another Nigerian bank account

What exactly is the charges for?
Why is this fraud tolerated?

Someone said the charges goes to NIPOST. I want to believe it is mere trolling as it makes absolutely no sense.

Please, How is Nipost involved in an ELECTRONIC money transfer?
Did I put the money in an envelope and post it? Or what?

We deserve better.
This is systemic cruelty.

When I applied for ATM Cards in UK (both debit and credit), I was NEVER charged a penny.
The card is given free.
And “maintenance”, if there’s any such thing, is done free.

IF we never get the chance to see how things happen in other places, we won’t know we are being cheated.

When I applied for an ATM Card in Nigeria, I was charged 1,000 naira plus VAT 50 naira to have one.
And I’m being charged some extra regularly in the pretence of an imaginary “Card Maintenance Fees”.

This is systemic corruption and a fundamental banking fraud aimed at impoverishing us Nigerians.

Let’s do a little maths, dear friends.

According to NIBSS, as at December 2017, there was almost 65,000 daily Electronic Fund Transfers in 2017.

At 52.50 naira per transaction, that’s over 3 million naira a day.
And about 1 billion naira a year.

Should this fraud continue?'

Bank will send you birthday text and seasons greeting and still charge you for it.

Religion / Love For Others Will Reduce Depression And Suicide In Nigeria-azemobor Gregory by VOICEOFDIVINE: 3:13am On Jul 17, 2019
UK based Volunteer Group & Widows Empowerment Project Organizes a Walk against Depression and Suicide
Amidst the high spate of depression and suicide in Nigeria, a humanitarian initiative tagged, Widows Empowerment Project in collaboration with a UK –based Volunteer organization- Making Noise Group, recently organized a Walk against Depression and Suicide in Ikeja, Lagos-Nigeria, to lend their voices to these social malaise that is plaguing our society.
Recent statistics estimate that over 60 million Nigerians are prone to depression. This is extremely worrisome, especially against the background that many cases of suicide recently have been linked to depression and mental illness. There is an urgent need to stem this dangerous tide according Apostle Azemobor Gregory, the convener of the widows Empowerment Project, “ The major cause of depression and consequent suicide amongst other factors, is extreme poverty. When people have no means of basic sustenance, they lose their sense of self-worth and enthusiasm for living. They become prone to depression and may attempt to take their lives”
Speaking further, Azemobor said, “Another reason why people become depressed is because there is nobody to share their pains and burden with. We live in a society where most people are selfish and self-centred. No love amongst us. If you have a serious medical challenge for example that requires huge money to pay the hospital bill and you are poor, chances are that you could die, because the government hospitals are not free and greedy individuals are not ready to help. How many times have you seen a public campaign on television to raise as little as one million naira to save somebody’s life, and it could run for months without realizing the fund? So sad! I would recommend , that to reduce depression and suicide in Nigeria, the government should as a matter of urgency, develop a robust social security system to cater for the poor and the vulnerable. Religious organizations should also do more to entrench the culture of love as the main focus of their ecclesiastical activities”
“Our widows’ empowerment activities within the last one year has also brought us in contact with the sufferings and agony that many poor widows and indigent mothers pass through, and many of them die due to depression unnoticed by society.
Mr. Theo Ogbhemhe speaking on behalf of the Making Noise Group based in Orkney-Scotland, who came to Nigeria to participate in the event and also execute numerous social support projects for schools and communities, said “ We are a volunteer group in United Kingdom, campaigning against mental illness and suicide and encouraging young people to speak up. We also have cases of depression and suicide in our country but the factors responsible are different from what is obtainable in Nigeria. We are here to support this initiative put together by the Widow Empowerment Project because it aligns with our activities in the Uk”. The other members of the group include, Frankie Gauld, Anna Mackay, Liam Flannigan.
The Widow Empowerment Project is an Initiative of Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach, a non- profit humanitarian organization based in Lagos, Nigeria . The rally had in attendance volunteers and members of the organization who walked along Obafemi Awolowo Way , Ikeja to sensitize the public on the need to support individuals who are passing through depressive moments.

Religion / UK Based Volunteer Group Support Widows' Empowerment Campaign In Nigeria by VOICEOFDIVINE: 2:46pm On Jul 15, 2019
Well -meaning Nigerians and the government have been urged to pay compassionate attention to the plight of poor widows and indigent mothers in our society and to economically empower them so that they could provide for themselves and their families. This was the focus of a campaign rally held in Ikeja recently, organized by a humanitarian group, Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach in collaboration with a Uk- based Volunteer organization, Making Noise Group, Orkney, Scotland.
Apostle Azemobor Gregory , who is the leader of the humanitarian group told news men during the rally, “ The reason why we have unprecedented rate of crime, violence , depression and suicide in Nigeria in recent times, is because we do not have the culture of love. We as individual citizens do not show love to one another. Everybody is busy selfishly living for themselves without considering the welfare and the wellbeing of their neighbours. Most people in government are worse! They are only there to enrich themselves at the expense of the welfare of the masses. Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world because of our collective greed, in spite of our stupendous resources. I have always maintained that the best approach to fight insecurity in Nigeria is through a robust social welfare system. The government should ensure that nobody lacks and concerted effort should be made to lift people out of poverty. I honestly do not think we could have peace when 80 million Nigerians go to bed hungry”
Speaking further Azemobor said, “poor widows and indigent mothers are suffering untold hardship as they are being neglected by society and the government, and that is why we initiated the Widows Empowerment Project last year to economically empower them with business opportunity training and free cash grant to ensure they run thriving petty businesses to cater for their family upkeep”
“This project is aimed at equipping indigent widows with petty business opportunities, skills and free capital to support start-ups or boost existing businesses with the objective of improving their livelihood ,Widows already running thriving petty businesses will receive a free grant of N20,000 ($60) to boost their businesses Widows interested in starting petty businesses will be trained, assessed and supported with a start-up capital of N20,000 ($60).This scheme is targeted to empower 10,000 widows and indigent mothers, between May 2018- December 2025
It is a fact that most widows have children and other dependents, whose livelihood will be positively impacted with this project. Over 150 widows and indigent mothers since the inception of the project last year, have received free cash grant of N20,000 each, either to start or boost their petty businesses.
Also Speaking at the event, the leader of the Uk-based organization – Making Noise Group, Mr. Theo Ogbhemhe, who came to Nigeria with some members of his group-Frankie Gauld, Anna Mackay, Liam Flannigan, to participate in the event, said, “We are here in Nigeria to support this noble initiative because of its far reaching impact in alleviating poverty and empowering indigent mothers. Let me urge kindhearted individuals and the government to always support the poor and the weak in order to create a better and a peaceful society. My group and I greatly appreciate what the Widows Empowerment Project is doing in Nigeria and that is why we decided to volunteer our support. We also have a numbers of projects to execute in Edo state (Benin City,& Auchi), We shall be visiting Abuja, to build a toilet facility for a public school, we brought a lot of books to share for indigent students, we shall also be organizing a seminar to educate female secondary students on self-development amongst others.” Mr Ogbhemhe concluded.

Religion / Poverty And The Culture Of Greed-by Azemobor Gregory by VOICEOFDIVINE: 7:45am On Jun 30, 2019
Poverty and the Culture of Greed
By Apostle Azemobor Gregory

It was the great spiritual leader, Mahatma Ghandi, who once observed “The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed.” This certainly is one of his best-known quotes. Its moral import challenges the economic inequity that plagues our society today. Our 'must-have, must-buy' capitalist propensity is eating into the planet's resources like never before, precipitating a society that is ravaged by acute global poverty. This unfortunate development is not attributed to the lack of universal resources to meet our collective needs, but to our greedy dispositions, both as individuals and organization, and this has permeated our social milieu
At the root cause of the phenomenon of global poverty is the entrenched capitalist system with its inherent twisted ideologies that negates God’s economic laws. For example, the capitalist concept of ownership and definition of wealth is completely antithetical to God’s economic truth. The capitalist notion of individual’s ownership of resources is fallacious because the truth is that nobody on earth owns anything except God who is the sole creator and real owner of everything. The false sense of ownership promoted by the free market ideology is the reason for our unbridled quest for primitive accumulation.
Now hear this! Your physical self is a temporary manifestation in time and space. In this context, whatever you generate is never fully yours because it's going to be there long after you. In essence, you are only its caretaker". Clinging to material wealth is therefore a redundant pursuit. So too, by the same logic, is an economic system that exists exclusively to generate such wealth
Gandhi who was a renowned moral philosopher posited that life is a transitory affair. The higher purpose of which he spoke could be described as "god-realisation" or, in less spiritual parlance, "self-realisation". That idea shapes Gandhi's ethics, namely the pursuit of love, compassion, self-knowledge, duty, self-control, and so forth, as the root to such realisation. It also has implications for wealth creation: what, after all, is wealth for?
The second sophism peddled by the capitalist philosophy is the computation of wealth based on possessions otherwise known as ‘net-worth’. This means the amount of worldly goods you have determines how rich or wealthy you will be appraised by society. This notion of prosperity is contrary to God’s proposition of wealth. God’s idea of riches is premised on giving to help others. I like to term it ‘net-giving’. The fallout of capitalist-induced appetite for material agglomeration as a parameter for worldly riches is the evolution of a greedy culture whereby the individual becomes self-centred and avaricious. Self-gratification becomes the ultimate goal of our life pursuit. Everything then become about ‘me, myself and I’. As long as the society continues to encourage and even adulate primitive acquisition, the end result would always be deprivation suffered by the weak and the vulnerable. This vividly explains the root cause of poverty in the world.

The orchestrated fight against poverty by the world economic bodies and governments to me is an exercise in futility as their analysis and commentaries are often riddled in paralogism. As long as the capitalist ideals rule our economic firmament, poverty will continue to exacerbate. A system that promotes excessive possessions cannot guarantee equitable distribution of resources to enhance the wellbeing of the weak and the vulnerable. Although the concept of taxation was instituted to compel individuals and organization to give back to society for the cause of the common good, history has shown that the utilization of the proceeds from taxation has not been largely successful in creating an egalitarian society. Even in developed societies that practise proportional taxation, unbridled quest for possessions has not been deterred.

It is therefore unthinkable that, recently my beloved country, Nigeria, has attained an ignoble status of being the poverty capital of the world, inspite of the billions of dollars we had earned from crude oil since 1959 when oil was first discovered at Oloibiri in Bayelsa state. While many nations like UAE, and other Arab countries have used the proceeds from crude oil to enhance the quality of life of their citizenry, Nigerians have continued to languish in abject pauperism induced by the acquisitiveness and rapacity of their rulers right from Independence in 1960.
Ours has become a society where everybody is helping their selves with the ‘national cake’. Almost everyone in government is there to steal. The cumulative effect of this ‘culture of greed’ in the public space and even in our private lives is the impoverishment of a vast majority of our people who go to bed every day hungry. Statistics paints the grooming picture of over 80 million Nigerians living below the poverty line. This is indeed alarming!
For those who care to know there is a nexus between the ravaging deprivation in the land and the spate of the recent upsurge of violence and criminality that is bedeviling our great nation. What we are witnessing now is the revolt of the poor against the rich and a society that validates oppression and injustice. I think the time has come for us to begin to deconstruct the false values of capitalism and dismantle the entrenched pervasive culture of greed. The people in government must uphold the ethos of service to humanity. The desire to serve must be the motivation for public office seekers. The individuals must begin to embrace the pristine ethics of love for others. Let us all learn to be charitable to others, as Pope Frances once admonished “To live charitably means not looking for our own interest. but carrying the burdens of the weakest and poorest among us”. We must shun a lifestyle of greed, because greed is an infectious virus that destroys the soul.
Christ warned us in the bible that Life does not consist in the abundance of material possessions-Luke 12:15. True satisfaction is not found in money but in what we do to add value to the life of others. Christ amply taught his disciples the principles and values of the kingdom of God and he mandated them to propagate those ideals on earth after his departure to heaven. The economic model carried out by the early Apostles in the bible was a prototype of God’s economic system. The Apostles redefined the concept of wealth and disrupted the capitalist order. We were told that many of the brethren that had great possessions went ahead to sell everything they had and brought the money to the apostles who then distributed it to each person according to their needs. This is awesome!
They set out to alter the prevailing worldly culture by imposing a superior system of godly lifestyle. No wonder the people in Antioch who witnessed their ‘weird’ manner of living derisively tagged them ‘Christ-like’ because they were followers of Christ and this purportedly is the origin of the word- Christian which gave birth to the Christian religion of today.

But unfortunately, the archetypal ideals of the gospel the early apostles exemplified have been denigrated by the modern day ‘commercialized’ psudo-Pentecostal movement, which is at the vanguard of promoting materialism and greed deceptively disguised with the euphemism of the ‘ gospel of prosperity’

In closing, let me reiterate here that the ‘culture of greed’ is the root cause of global poverty (forget all the bogus postulations by the world economic bodies), and until we entrench the ‘culture of love’, the world will continue to suffer social upheavals and turbulence. May God help us!

Religion / An Indigent Evan.receives N20,000 Free Cash From Ngo To Boost Up Her Petty Trade by VOICEOFDIVINE: 3:42pm On Jun 17, 2019
Join us to lift 10,000 widows and indigent mothers out of poverty!

I met Mrs Betty Asemota some weeks ago when I visited my big sister in Agege-Lagos. She came to my sister's house with an elderly man to evangelize the 'gospel'. I patiently listened to them as they quoted scriptures upon scripture and recited the usual rhyme of 'giving your life to Christ'.
I would have allowed them to go quietly for a job well done of 'sharing the gospel'. But their closing remark provoked my anger.
"we are Inviting you to come and worship with us and your life will never remain the same again"
At this point, I could not hold back my outburst
' So the reason you came here to preach to us was to invite us to your church and not to preach the kingdom of God or the gospel of love. So tell me" why should I come to your church? (by the way, the church they represent is one of the biggest old generation churches in Nigeria)
I queried further, ' how is your church supporting you and your family? Can any of your children attend the university owned by your church?. Does your church support your family when you are in need? ......... "
As I confronted them with all of these facts and questions, they fired back in defense of their church refusing to see reasons with me.

At this point I realized that I needed to preach a superior gospel that would shatter their bondage of indoctrination.
I observed closely that Mrs Betty Asemota looked very emanciated and needy. It was obvious she was overwhelmed with family challenges and from her lean and pale stature she probably was not feeding very well and she looked malnourished. You could tell she was struggling to survive. I was moved with deep compassion for her!!
"Madam I want to show you how we preach the gospel of Christ, now take some money. I am sure you would need this to buy some food for your family"
As she recieved the money, she could not hide her excitement and she knelt down thanking me for the kind gesture.
'Please stand up ma, It is God that said I should bless you. What do you do for a living?
" I am a petty trader, selling in Agege"
"OK, don't worry, we would come and visit you and see how we can support your business"
On hearing that her face brightened up with a big smile as she left with her colleague.

Mrs Betty Asemota, 51 yrs old, who is from Edo state, lives with her husband and 7 children in a one room apartment in Agege-Lagos. The husband who is jobless and the 7 children depend on her petty trading for survival. According to her the total capital she uses for trading is about #15000. and this is what the entire family depend on.
However, today, her joy knew to bounds as the team of Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach visited her in the market and gave her a free cash grant of N20, 000 to support her business.
To God be the glory.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

Our target is to empower 10,000 Widows and indigent mothers with free cash grants, to enable them to start or boost their petty businesses. The goal of this project is to economically empower poor widows and indigent mothers to improve their livelihood so as to be able to cater for their families.

Religion / You Cannot Deceive God With Your Religion-by Azemobor Gregory by VOICEOFDIVINE: 7:08am On Jun 15, 2019
You Cannot Deceive God with your Religion!
By Apostle Azemobor Gregory

Corey Booker’s famous quote about the hypocrisy of religion vividly encapsulates the signification of this discuss:
“ Don't speak to me about your religion;
first show it to me in how you treat other people.
Don't tell me how much you love your God;
show me in how much you love all God's children.
Don't preach to me your passion for your faith;
teach me through your compassion for your neighbors.
In the end, I'm not as interested in what you have to tell or sell as I am in how you choose to live and give”

Corey Booker’s submission did only cast aspersion on organized religions but at the same time exposed the underbelly of their false virtue. Let me state here unequivocally that God is not the author of any religion neither does He certify or asseverate any of them. Organized religion is an invention of man and not God’s idea. I know this truth is hard for some fanatical religious folks to swallow. But before you crucify me, let me ask you some pertinent questions: why should my religion tell me that I am different from the other person simply because he or she does not belong to my religion? Are we not created by the same God, who is our father? I am asking you, answer me!

Now let me address my fellow ‘Christian brethren’ who will not hesitate to throw ‘scriptural stones’ at me for daring to utter such a ‘heretic statement’- that religion is not God’s idea. If you like you can characterize me a ‘renegade’ or a schismatic but I will stand by the truth. The truth anyway is iconoclastic; it does not posture with popular beliefs. But please do me a favour. Kindly read through the entire new testament bible and show me where Christ founded the Christian religion. None! Rather the core of his message was about the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth and the entrenchment of the culture of love. And that was the mandate of the great commission He gave to us:

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” – Mark 16:15-16

He was not a religious leader. He even opposed and reprimanded the Jewish religious leaders who he derisively labeled impostors. What about his disciples? They never practiced the Christian religion. They were called believers and not Christians. The focus of their activities was to advance the kingdom culture on earth. Their lifestyle was strange and alien to the world system. They disrupted the capitalist economic system and redefined the concept of wealth and true prosperity.

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they shared with anyone who was in need.” –Act 2: 44-45

Christ proposed the concept of spirituality as the ideal communion with God our father

“But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him”

He made this assertion when his disciples accosted him to contemplate the grandeur of the Jewish religious temple.

“As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, look at the magnificent stones and buildings!” all these great buildings?” Jesus replied. “Not one stone here will be left on another; everyone will be toppled.” Mark 13: 1-2

His sarcastic remark underscores the preeminence of spirituality over and above nugatory man-made religion. Spirituality, essentially, is the disciplined practice of expressing the nature of the spirit of God in us. God dwells in every one of us irrespective of the religion we profess. The spirit of God in us is the ‘still voice’ that nudges us to good deeds. Some call him conscience or the voice of morality and the emotion of that spirit is compassion
.
The early apostles practiced full spirituality. We were told that the Spirit of God descended on them during the Pentecost and they became different beings who were energized to preach and live the gospel. Apostle Paul even alluded to the concept of spirituality when he said:

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”- Roman 8:14

Now those of you that think that belonging to a particular church denomination, attending regular church services, rolling on the ground and lifting up holy hands during worship songs, paying your offering and tithe to your church, becoming a worker in the church, doing evangelism by sharing flyers containing concocted miraculous testimonies and the picture of your pastor and his wife, would earn you express ticket to heaven, should better have a rethink about your life and get yourself free from religious bondage and deception

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’ “ Matthew 7: 23
Now let me show you two scriptures that will aid your spirituality and communion with God:
James1: 27
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
Matthew 25:34-36
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Beloved, you do not need to subscribe to any religion in order to be righteous, Your righteousness before God is directly proportional to your humanity. Christ preached spirituality and humanity. This was affirmed in the parable of the Good Samaritan where ‘an unbeliever’ demonstrated humanity to a fellow brother who was at the point of death. The religious leaders who saw him failed to show him love, because they were so preoccupied with their religious engagement.
Is that not what you do as a Christian today? You prefer to sow your tithe and offering to a church expecting a bountiful harvest, instead of using that same money to help the poor. Repent! God is watching you.

Finally, statistics have shown that almost everybody, out of the estimated 7.3 billion people on earth practice one form of religion or the other. Christians remained the largest religious group in the world , making up nearly a third (31%) of Earth’s 7.3 billion people, according to a new Pew Research Center. . Now, here is the paradox: How come this massive population who profess to religions that purportedly link them to one God cannot live together as one global family of humanity? Why this morbid religious acrimony? Why do we fight and kill ourselves in the name of religion? It is on record that religiously motivated wars have killed more people than any other war in history. So sad!

The time to abolish religion is now! It is an evil invention that has extirpated our common humanity.
The question I have often asked is this: is God divided? Even within Christendom, there is an alarming proliferation of church denominations to the extent that you could see five branches of the same church in one street. Let us not even talk of the mutual mistrust among churches that profess to be the followers of Christ
When I consider the level of deception and hypocrisy exhibited by those of us who avow to be Christians, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that the set of people that have done the greatest damage and disservice to the gospel of Christ are the Christians. No wonder, the great soul Mahatma Ghandi once opined,
“ I like your Christ, not your Christians, because your Christians are unlike your Christ”
Food for Thought!

Religion / A Poor Widow Receives Financial Assistance That Changed Her Life by VOICEOFDIVINE: 3:40pm On Jun 04, 2019
The Widows Empowerment Outreach in Benin City during the Last Christmas and New Year Celebration (2018)

“God has sent His ‘angels’ to visit me”, A poor widow, Mrs Josephine Okeke, exclaimed in tears as she received ₦20,000 to enable her to start a petty smoked-fish business.

Mrs. Josephine Okeke who hails from Ekpoma, Esan-West LGA, of Edo State lost her husband to kidney disease. The man was a machine operator in a printing firm until death separated him from his lovely wife and 3 children. Since then, life has been difficult for Mrs. Okeke and her kids. To put food on the table for the kids, she moves from house to house to wash clothes for people, who at the end of the day pay her very little for her services, and if she is lucky, some would give her food to eat.

When the Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach Team accompanied by our sister organization, Pick a Child Africa, visited the widow where she lives around Medical Road area of Benin City, we observed that the family live in a very deplorable condition: the one-room apartment they live in was in a state of squalor, the widow and the children looked hungry and sickly. It appeared they had not eaten for many days. It was obvious they had no hope to celebrate the Christmas. Their pathetic condition moved us to tears. She also owed the rent for her apartment, and the pressure from the landlord further exacerbated her plight.

So when the sum of ₦20,000 was presented to her to enable her to start a petty business, she could not hide her excitement, as tears of Joy flowed freely from her eyes. The team also promised to pay the sum of ₦36,000 for her 1-year house rent.

A mother of twin, Mrs. Uche Benjamin today received a cash donation of ₦20,000 for the payment of school fees of her twin- Joy and John Benjamin. The twin whose education is been taken care of by the Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach over the years past, were so happy today coming along with their mother to receive the money from the organization which was presented to them by Mr. Peter Benjamin – the administrative officer of the organization, on behalf of the International Coordinator, Apostle Gregory Azemobor.

Mrs. Uche after receiving the cash thanked the organization and her donors for always coming to their aide and praying that wherever the money is coming from will never run dry. She also went on to pray for the Apostle of humanity, Apostle Gregory Azemobor, that for being true to his kind deeds, he will live long to reap the fruit of his labour on the lives of the less privileged. She also went further to promise that the money will be used judiciously for what it is been given.

join us to lift 10,000 poor widows and indigent mothers out of poverty!

" ………So surprise to see you'' those were the words of Mrs Adebimpe Adelakun when the Voice of Divine Truth Network empowerment team paid her a visit.

Mr Adebimpe Adelakun a mother of 3 children is a 41 years old widow who sells Pepper, Tomatoes, onions and other cooking condiments in Pakoto Village, Ifo, Ogun State.

She lost her husband 5 years ago to the cold hands of death through a motor cycle accident within the community. Since the death of her husband, the responsibility of feeding and paying school fees for the children and also providing shelter for the family rested solely on her, and she has been struggling to carry the burden alone with the petty trading she does.

On the day of our visit, we observed that her wares were scanty on the table she sells, so the empowerment team decided to give her a free cash grant of N20,000 to buy more goods so that she can sell and make more profit to take care of the family. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Our target is to empower 1000 Widows with free cash grants, to enable them to start or boost their petty businesses. The goal of this project is to economically empower poor widows to improve their livelihood so as to be able to cater for their families.

Religion / Hope Restored To A Hopeless Widow- She Can See A Brighter Future Again by VOICEOFDIVINE: 4:27pm On May 27, 2019
join us to lift 10,000 widows and indigent mothers out of poverty!

Mrs Ngozi Udeh a 46 years old window was left broken after the demise of her husband, before the death of her hubby, they lived happily; together they ran a thriving restaurant business in the heart Congo Brazzaville.

In 2016, after much deliberation by the couples to relocate to their motherland (Nigeria), they planned to do so in steps: firstly, that the husband has to travel to Lagos and rent an apartment for them to settle in and so the husband move swiftly, came to Lagos and rented an apartment at No: 11, Asimou Bamgbose Street, Akesan, Lagos.

While Mr Udeh was in Nigeria for the short stay, he fell ill and was admitted in the hospital; every effort by relatives to get him back to his feet couldn`t save him and so he died after a brief illness in 5th July 2016.

The news of her husband death got to her in Congo Brazzaville as a shock, she quickly packed her baggage, together with their only child traveled to Nigeria to mourn the demise of her husband and to observe the funeral rites. While still in Nigeria, for a period of 3 months, she received another call from Congo Brazzaville that her apartment was taken over by the landlord, her personal and household properties were taken out and put outside her living space and so this compounded her grief.

She traveled back to Congo Brazzaville to see what she could do to salvage the situation, she found out that it was better to return back to Nigeria and so with the help of the "Nigeria Union" over there who paid for flight ticket back home; she finally relocated to Nigeria.

Presently, she lives in the apartment which her late husband had rented before he died. Since she returned to Nigeria life has been a constant struggle to survive, she sells second hand clothing popularly referred to as "bend down select, na only mumu dey go boutique" on her street, sales has been very dull because she buys only the "clearance" clothing which are really not as beautiful as the "1st grade and 2nd grade" clothing that are more appealing to buyers. The meager money she gets is not enough to feed, take care of her child and pay accommodation rent. Even in this moment, she is currently facing ejection because her house rent is due and she cannot renew the rent.

The Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach paid her a visit today to financially empower her with a free grant of N20,000, to invest in her petty trade, this will enable her buy the grades of clothing which are more comely to buyers so that she can sell more and make more money.

Religion / Hope Restored,a Poor Widow Receives N25,000 To Resuscitate Her Smoked Fish Trade by VOICEOFDIVINE: 3:57pm On May 27, 2019
Join us to lift 1000 widows and indigent families out of poverty.

Mrs Margaret Sambo lost her husband to the cold hands of death 10 yrs ago, a bitter experience that left her completely devastated. Ever since, she had to fend for her 5 children all alone without any support from the husband’s family. Before the demise of her husband she was running a thriving smoked fish business, using the proceeds to support the family. But after the death of her husband, the enormous responsibility to cater for the children put undue financial pressure on the business and it eventually collapsed in 2015. She then resorted to doing menial jobs in factories in order to provide for her family. This she did for many years until she met The Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach team members recently, in a Widows event organized by our beloved sister, Bunmmy Olu.
After a counseling section with Mrs. Margaret Sambo, when she visited our office recently, the team decided to support her with a free cash grant of N25,000 to enable her revive her smoked fish business which she stopped in 2015. Today, our team member, Miss Queeneth chris accompanied her to a cold room in Ogba-Ikeja to purchase some cartons of fish to commence her business once again.

Religion / A Widow Was Economically Empowered To Expand Her Restaurant Business. by VOICEOFDIVINE: 11:16am On May 25, 2019
This is Mrs Kilanfe Taiwo a widow with 4 children, a petty food trader who became the bread winner of her family since the cold hands of death snatched her husband away on 1st March, 2017. The difficulty in feeding, clothing and paying for her children school fees and the enormous, unforeseen, financial demands swallowed her business capital, so she could not continue to do her food business for months. She had to borrow the sum of N2,500 with interest to be paid from a colleague to start business again.

Hurry! When she heard about the opportunity to be empowered with a FREE grant of N20,000, she jumped at it by making a passionate plea to the Voice of Divine Truth International for financial help to boost her petty food business.

The team, lead by the International coordinator - Mr Gregory Azemobor visited her today at No.: 15, Shoremilekun Street in Aboru community of Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, her place of doing business. She was given a FREE grant of N20,000 to boost her petty.

The Voice Of Divine Truth International also encourage her to work hard and also pay up her debt and invest the remaining money into her business, we believe this will enable her to buy more raw foodstuffs, cook more food, sell more food and make more money to take care of herself and her children.

Glory be to God.

Religion / Financial Support Given To,the Herbal Medicine Seller To Boost Her Petty Trade. by VOICEOFDIVINE: 10:57am On May 25, 2019
As the Voice of Divine Truth Network International Outreach team moved to another location in Pakoto Community in Ifo, Ogun State, we met another window who shared with us, her plight of struggling to cater for herself & her four (4) children.

Mrs Oluwafumilayo Adebayo a petty traders who produce & sell native herbal medicine, popularly known as "Agbo" in Pakoto village lost her husband almost 2years ago. Prior to the death of her husband, she had spent her entire savings on medical bills for her late husband who was seriously ill and admitted in the hospital, despite her effort to see her better half get well; Mr Adebayo could not make it – he died. Since then, she has been the breadwinner of the family with no help from her in-laws.

And so, the widows empowerment team gave her a free cash grant to buy more raw material which she uses for producing the herbal medicine, we believe this will go a long way to boost her petty trade and she will make more money to take care of her family.

Religion / An Industrious Indigent Mother Of 3 Whose Husband Abandoned, Get's Succor. by VOICEOFDIVINE: 3:21pm On May 24, 2019
"A True Life Story"

Meet Mrs. Stella Akhigbue a 48 year old indigent mother with 3 children, who was abandoned by her husband 7 years ago to cater for their children alone, She narrated her ordeal with great pains in her heart, ".... my family was the best in the world, living happily and peacefully in a 4 bedroom flat apartment until one faithful Sunday when my husband friend visited our home with a strange lady, I gave them a warm reception and made them felt comfortable in my home. It was after that day, my night of DOOM came as she snatched my husband away from me. My husband automatically changed, he started keeping late nights and later left the house to live with the strange lady. Meanwhile I was a full time house wife since my husband was capable of taking care of our family needs.

My grief began as I had nothing doing, the welfare and responsibility of my children and I rested solidly on my shoulder, I struggled to moved to a room apartment with my children to reduce the burden of paying for exorbitant house rent, still the hardship and suffering was too keen because I had no money to take care of our needs. One day I visited my sister who gave me ₦1000 to buy food stuffs but I remembered I needed a means of livelihood so I made a decision to start selling second hand clothing popularly known as (okirika) with the ₦1000 my sister gave to me. Every day, I hawk the cloths street to street for sales, sales has been very dull because I can only afford the clearance clothing of the okirika which is not beautiful and appealing to customers, this is due to lack of finance to buy the first grades clothing that sells faster.
This has been my means of struggle for survival for the past 7 years with my children"..

The Voice of Divine Truth International outreach visited her home to financially support her with a FREE cash grant of ₦20,000 to boost her petty business, we believe this will enable her purchase the quality of grades clothing that will increase her sales for more profit.
