Yes I was in secondary school then and still remember his issues based campaign. It was like a breath of fresh air on a useless country but the politicians hated him and spread a lot of lies and propaganda against him. They told lies that Abiola said he will throw all Bibles into the sea and convert every igbo to Muslim, told lies baba gana kingibe wasn’t a Nigerian..when Babangida annulled that election was when I knew satan was in charge of Nigeria and saw no hope for Nigeria. They wanted to make it look like Abiola won only Yoruba land by announcing a few states and suspending the rest but Humphrey Nwosu defied them and announced almost the whole results but IBB soldiers took him and beat him until he fainted . Abiola only crime was being from the south and if incompetent Tofa had won they would have given him power. After that elections I told my dad back then I wanted to leave Nigeria he refused because I am his first son. Nigeria is a tragedy and I am not sure good leadership will ever to come to Nigeria
This your story makes me angry more & more, why?

The southern Nigeria can never learn.
The Hausa fulanis in northern Nigeria had created created over 60% of the problems currently facing Nigeria.

If you could remember the Gideon Orkar's coup in April 1990:
Gideon Orkar, was a TIV by tribe.

He & his team of young soldiers almost toppled Babangida, but the coup failed at the last minute.

The summary of that coup was, they wanted to push-out some northern states out from Nigeria.

Just like Ojukwu, Gideon Orkar & his team complained of lack fairness, Justice & equity.
They especially accused the northern elites of being behind of the problems facing Nigeria.

Half of the names benefitted from Abacha regime without regrets. But I am lost on their link to betrayal and annulment of June 12

Prof. Nwosu promised to write a book on June 12 annulment. Not sure it's ever going to happen
Well,I hope he do.
The most painful person who betrayed him was his VP.

How can your running mate abandoned you in the TICK of your battle to recover the aborted mandate?..
That's Babagana Kingibe for you.

The tragedy of wrong leaders runs for generations. Abiola was addressing issues that was facing Nigeria while tofa had no concrete manifesto. They denied Abiola the mandate because he wasn’t a northerner. Abiola had plans to build more power stations and refineries and revamp local industries and make sports and entertainment a foreign exchange earner but the people like Abacha and co cabal who pushed Babangida that denied him power based on ethnic bigotry. How far? Under Abacha Nigeria 4 refineries collapsed including power stations instead of repairing them he moved Nigeria to importation of fuels and generators. Before Abacha if stationary stores or Julius Berger or rangers or shooting stars. Is playing a match tickets are sold out a day before but under Abacha our players started leaving home clubs for overseas . Basics infrastructure collapsed except for the road repairs he started with buhari under PTDF ..twenty years after Nigeria is still suffering the same problem. Peter Obi came to contest addressing Nigeria’s issue but they still denied him. The question is has tinubu addressed issue of how he will tackle any of Nigeria’s problems?…raising up two hands during national anthem, licking microphone etc doesn’t portray him as being in the right mental state to lead Nigeria out of the current problems of massive debts and poverty, insecurity where people can’t travel from one town to another without fear of being kidnapped and killed, no jobs, high food prices etc
Exactly the points!
The criminal structures Peter Obi is talking about.

This structure has terrorized, intimidates, underdeveloped, robbed Nigerians dry from top to bottom.

Ignorant guys need to be reminded of the names of those that participated to abort the 1993 election.

I'm surprised that enemies of history always omitted the name of Professor Humphrey Nwosu, the NEC chairman who conducted the June 12,1993 election.

2days before the election,Arthur Nzeribe went to court to obtain an order from Justice Bassey Ikpeme, restraining the NEC from conducting the 1993 election.

However,in defiance, Humphrey Nwosu went ahead & conducted the election.
As the results trickled in, which clearly showed that Abiola had won the 1993 presidential election.

2days after the election, justice mamman Saleh upheld the Court order earlier obtained by Arthur Nzeribe, restraining NEC from the conduct of the 1993 election.

It's a long story which I won't go into now.
But my question is,why are other peoples names not mentioned?

The Yorubas, Igbos, hausa fulani & some other tribes in Nigeria HEAVILY BETRAYED ABIOLA.

NAMES:
Ibrahim Babangida.
Babagana Kingibe.
Arthur Nzeribe.
Walter Ofonagoro
Uchechukwu Merieje.
Arisekola Alao.
Lamidi Adedibu
Tony Anenih.
Justice Bassey Ikpeme.
Justice mamman Saleh.
Tom Ikimi.
Lateef Shofolahan..etc..

After the June 12 annulment and the Epetedo declaration, people who were old enough at that time will recall that the Igbo began to leave Lagos in droves, some getting involved in accident due to the traffic down east, yet its not Christmas when we do have Igbo movement homewards.

What was said then was that the Igbo were going for new yam festival. I was a secondary school student at the time, the country was so hard that there was no paper currency in circulation and people were spending coins. there was no day without rioting and protest, with heroes of democracy fighting Abacha. Tinubu was one such.

Our brothers were leaving us at this crucial time because, June 12 is Yoruba and Hausa show. at that point in time, Lagos was not "no man's land", it was part and parcel of Yorubaland and its not worth the empathy of the Ndigbo who must move homeward, because well, its very clear that its a matter of time before another civil war break out.

What does the Igbo movement portend? its a calculative expectation, a wrong signal that says it is left for the Yoruba to face the Hausa and they already have a battlefield big enough for the show. Who knows why Abacha was stockpiling money offshore in every country you can think of? At the end, the Yoruba endure and lost their own, MKO.

The recent event of the gubernatorial election simply implies that if the Yoruba were in the position of the Igbos in Lagos, the Igbos will do exactly the same thing Yoruba thugs did. None of the people do stand in the gap for the other as history have shown, as Abiola equally won a landslide election across naija but who campaign for the annulment?

It might be very fresh what the Yoruba thug did, but it is not just started of recent.

Association for better Nigeria, over to you.
It's the highest form of wickedness if you deliberately EXCLUDE" Professor Humphrey Nwosu, who DEFIED the order of president Ibrahim Babangida & announced the June 12 results.

Go & read the role Professor Humphrey Nwosu played at that June 12 saga.

Good morning buddies ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Honestly I getting very furious and outraged at the tribalism attacks on GRV. This is the lowest of the lows. Certain things are beyond politics.

How can you attack a person based on their genetic formation? How can you attack a person based on their DNA? That's moral crime and utterly reprehensible.

How can you criminalize, socially ostracized, exclude and maliciously cancel him from his father's heritage just because he was born to an Igbo woman?

They basically want him distanced and deny his mother 👩 😈🤬🤬

Mostly annoying the crazy folks spewing all these garbage aren't from Lagos State.
You being from a south western states doesn't make you Legosian enough to drag an indigenous Legosian.

What's wrong with some of these people drifting down to the dark hole of ancient times of primordial tribalism? That's diabolical mehn🤬🤬

He's been accused of every crazy thing on the devil's book 🤬🤬🤬.

He wasn't a Legosian- He's a full Igbo throwing shade on his paternity.
He was born out of matrimony and raised by his single mother and father absent in his life
LIES LIES LIES- just listen to his dad.
He's gubernatorial race is a secret Igbo agenda to take over Lagos, lands and dethrone obas.
He needs to go back to south east to run for gubernatorial.
He doesn't speak Yoruba while he speaks Igbo fluently again LIES LIES.
He's trolled and bullied by his Igbo name Chinedu given by his mother.
How does anyone believe these stuff?

I am so embarrassed and actually very sad for the intellectual regression of some of our folks. Our politicians has really caused a lot mental and psychological damages for a lot of people.

And to think they're fighting for the same governor and party who has kept them impoverished and uneducated leaving them hanging on the thread 8 and 4 years respectively.

That's Apc's brand of politics.

They brought Muslim Muslim Satanic ticket, but criticized Peter Obi for going to church.

It's not your business if Ilorin indigenes are OK with Alimi brothers. The Yorubas allowed the Alimis because Ilorin was like a rebel camp.
We put them in their place when they tried to go beyond. That's the reason why they're confined in Ilorin, in the middle of Yoruba Towns.
At Shao junction, you'd see a sign post with "This place is Yorubaland, not an emitate".
The Ilorin people are satisfied with their lives, it's nobody's business, as long as you stay on your lane.
Trying to drag land with a Yoruba person is one of a thousand ways to die, so if you guys love yourselves and want peace, stay out of our politics. Enough said.
With the way we always hear, leave our land, go back to your land.

Now, you feel at home with the people who killed one of your king & occupied his throne, but always threatening another who has not done the same thing always

Anyway,as you said,na your land, whoever you like you can choose.

Kwara Governors have always been Yoruba. Lagos Governors have always been Yoruba, and will remain so.

Compare A to A, not A to P
So why the threats of Igbos should leave Lagos.

All those contesting for Lagos governorship seat are all Yorubas on the platforms of LP,APC,PDP.

Don't forget that the Alimi's in Kwara state choice of a candidate cannot be the same with some Yorubas yet, the Alimi's had never been threatened the way Igbos are being threatened..Why so?

Ask your brothers that live in Ilorin, Ilorin emirate ends at Sobi barracks in the North, Olunlade in the South, Oke Oyi in the East and Airport in the West.
Go to Baruten or Lafiagi or Patigi or Offa or Omu Aran and tell them they answer to Ilorin emirate and see if your head would still remain on your shoulders.
Now, are you telling me that Kwara state is controlled between who & who?

Alimis brothers controlling some parts of Kwara, while you control the remaining parts.?

We always hear of Emir of Illorin.

Illorin is the political capital of Kwara state,

Illorin,is were the political destiny of Kwara state is decided & Alimi's brothers controls it.

The Igbos of South Eastern region of Nigeria, is the most attacked tribe in Nigeria, for the good & bad decisions they had made.

Probably, because the Igbos are much more closer to all tribes of Nigeria, more than they are closer to the Igbos.

The recent threat & attacks against Ndigbo in Lagos for pitching there tent with LP, is what I don't really understand.

NDIGBO,IS PART OF LAGOS & NOT THE OWNERS OF LAGOS...

If an Igbo man/woman dies in Lagos, his/her corpse would be transported to the South Eastern region for burial. No Igbo man/woman would want his/her dead relative to be buried in Lagos.NONE!...so,why the threats & attacks?

That some Igbos said: Lagos is no man's land, doesn't translate to Igbos owning Lagos.Ndigbo knows where they came from...no tribe in Nigeria celebrates XMAS SEASON in there native land more than NDIGBO!

Secondly, I'm surprised why no attention is been paid to Kwara state?

Kwara state,200yrs ago was 100% Yoruba land.
But today, Kwara state is being controlled by Alimi's relatives.

According to history, Afonja was betrayed by Alimi & since then Alimi's brothers has been IN POWER in Kwara state.

Finally, what would be the outcome if Alimi's brothers have the type of population Ndigbo currently has in Lagos State?...

Or which other tribe would my dear Yoruba brothers prefer to Ndigbo,to have a LARGER POPULATION in Lagos?

Black man and fellow Nigerian, know this and know peace that there is no GOD.

Tinubu has proved himself to be more powerful than your so called God by gaming and cheating and all these prophecies that he won’t be President is a lie.

I supported Donald Trump and I was hurt when the democrats cheated him out and I was believing in prophecies that one God will stop the inauguration of the fool Joseph Biden. The so called God did not help Donald Trump’s supporters and no God will help Obidients. In this case, Tinubu is God because he has defeated the institutions in Nigeria.

I was born a Christian but I don’t go to church again because there is no God. Nigeria is now an Islamic country because Muslims are more serious than the so called Christians. All your GOs are criminals who have adopted mercantile Pentecostalism and have forgotten about the Christian values of the founding fathers of the United States which is primarily that a Christian family must depend or rely on a Bible, a gun, and strong national institutions—not a f*cling pastor, prophecies or a church.

All the men of God running churches in Nigeria are frauds who have fooled Nigerians for years and now we are about to be an Islamic state. Even though religion is an opium and there’s no God, I feel Muslims understand political control more than Christians. They don’t rely on just God. They also kill to advance their interest.

So called Christians need to reevaluate their values and stop depending on any sky daddy and take their own future in their hands. And always remember the American brand of Christianity: The Bible, Guns, education, and strong national institutions.

Bleep any sky daddy because it doesn’t exist!!!
I am the Lord thy GOD, said JEHOVAH!
The creator of the Heavens & earth.
I AM, the first & last, beginning & the end.
I AM, the Alpha & Omega, declaring the end from the beginning!

God is infallible.
God is immortal.
God is invisible, but HIS works are visible to human being to see!

His ways are not the ways of men/women.
His thoughts are also not the thoughts of men/women.
