It is a beautiful thing when you find someone that your heart warms up to, someone compatible, understanding loving, caring, kind and compassionate. Keeping such relationships is generally advisable because it is not the kind you find easily; for this reason, I came up with 10 (ten) relationship advice that can help sustain any relationship……..

1. NEVER START A RELATIONSHIP WITH LIES: Lies kills trust in relationships. Once trust is missing in a relationship, such relationship is the case of a sinking ship. The problem with relationships based on lie is that the defaulting partner will always tell more lies to cover up former ones. From experience, relationship based of lies and deceit do not last because most defaulting partners do not have the courage to admit the truth to their partners.

2. KEEP IT REAL: I realize that most relationships are based on fairy tales or the experience and testimonies of others. I believe it is wrong to use other people’s relationship as a yardstick for yours. It is important to know that every relationship is unique in its own way. Keep your relationship real. Make it unique.

3. ACCEPT EACH OTHER’S DIFFERENCES: I have this opinion that there is no perfect person on earth; every perfect person is imperfect to another. One of the reasons the world is an interesting place and has continually evolved and developed is because people do not behave the same way…. Imagine if everyone on earth behaves the same way, the world would be messy. In relationships we need to learn to accept people the way they are. If the way they are is unethical, we can gradually try to make them see reasons to change. Never force anyone to change. It would only bring bad blood to the relationship.

4. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PATNER: One of the major reasons relationship ends up in wrecking ball is usually because there lack of communication. Communication is an important factor in whatever relationship we keep. Every relationship no matter how perfect have bad days, but a healthy communication helps couple overcome bad days and obstacles in relationships.

5. ADDRESS EVERY ISSUES IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITHIN A SHORT TIME: Fights are bound to happen in every relationship. What makes our relationship stronger is the power to look pass our anger and address issues as soon as possible. This avoids allowing very trivial issues aggravate into something serious. When settling issues amongst couple that you find out that most of the time, they do not remember what started their fight because they fail to address the issues within time.

6. LEARN TO APOLOGIZE: Apology have saved a lot of relationship and has also destroy a lot. Apology goes a long way to address issues. Do not be too proud or egoistic to apologise to your spouse or partner. Learn to accept your mistakes and show remorse for them. When we are doing this, we should make sure it is sincere and not just because we want the other person to get off our back.

7. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PARTNER FOR GRANTED: Some people argue that once there is love in a relationship, your partner cannot take you for granted. Yes this is right. But we should also have it in mind that some people naturally are nonchalant about things generally. The spouse or a partner of a nonchalant person may often feel that he/she is being taken for granted. People like this should make extra effort to see that they are less nonchalant about their relationships.

Occasionally, activists from different part of the world create movement against rape, and encourage rape victims to report their offender to the appropriate authorities.It is reported that over one in three women had experienced a Sexual assault and that only 6% of Sexual assaults were reported to the police. That is why this movement is made to create awareness to rape victims.
This is also the case in Nigeria. Statistics shows that between 11 and 55% of Nigerian female child most especially adolescent are victims of rape. Today at LTV (Walk Against Rape) had an awareness walk on rape. KADUNA IMPOSES 24-HOUR CURFEW ON JEMA’A, KAURA COUNCILS

The Kaduna State Security Council has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Jema’a and Kaura Local Government.

The government said the curfew became necessary to protect life and property and avoid a further breakdown of law and order following the recent attacks.

A statement by Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s media aide, Samuel Aruwan, said: “All security agencies on special operation in the two councils have been directed to ensure strict compliance. Only essential workers and those on humanitarian services are allowed movement after due clearance by security agents.”

A traditional ruler in Kaninkon, a community under attack on Monday, Mallam Tanko Tete, said his chiefdom would expose enemies of unity in the land and restore peace.

He spoke when he received officials of the Global Peace Foundation Nigeria at his palace in Bakin Kogi, following the attacks on Bakin Kogi, a community in his chiefdom.

Tete called on relevant agencies to ensure the perpetrators were apprehended and prosecuted.

Northern Co-coordinator of Global Peace Foundation Nigeria Rev. John Joseph Hayab said the visit was to condole with the people of Kaninkon and Southern Kaduna for the attack on Bakin Kogi.

He condemned the attack, saying the foundation would spread its vision of “One Family Under God” by brokering peace and harmony among the people of Southern Kaduna.

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has kicked against the 24-hour curfew, saying it had done more harm than good in the past.
President Musa Kaptain Solomon said: “I want the position of SOKAPU to be clear. We are in support of any lawful measure that would bring peace. We are not against any curfew if it would make us more secure, but our experience in the past few weeks has shown that anytime a curfew is imposed, it keeps our people at home for the marauders to attack easily.

“It was under a curfew and the heavy presence of police that Goska, a short distance from Kafanchan, was attacked last December. It was also a 24-hour curfew that some youths were killed in Samaru Kataf in January.

“The curfew in Zangon Kataf lasted for two weeks. People stayed indoors, markets and schools were shut. The victims of the violence were further punished while the killers roamed freely. It became very difficult for many to feed their households. If this latest curfew will lead to arresting the murderers, good and fine. But if it is just to add to our suffering by being forced to stay at home, then we beg to differ,” he said.

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has continued taking a swipe at actors in the Nigerian movie industry. In his new post, the actor claims that most single nollywood actresses don’t wear pants while on set.
According to him, he personally knows 4 star actresses who do that, and it is giving him headache. The actor also went ahead to share a story of what happened, while on set in Asaba.
Here’s what he wrote;
“Its so shameful and disgusting… Why is it that most female celebrities, especially Nollywood actresses who are single have developed the habit of not wearing pants to movie locations?
I can tell you of 4 different star actresses I had personally confirmed, and this is really giving me headaches because, aside the very fact that it is suspicious, its also disgusting.
That’s why most of our directors are always losing concentration when they are directing on set, the worst is that these group of actresses are fond of spreading their legs wide unnecessarily just to seduce fellow actors and directors…

OUTRAGE AS PRESIDENCY BUDGETS N60M FOR GRASS CUTTING

Members of the House of Representatives expressed shock on Tuesday that the Presidential Committee on North-East Initiative budgeted N60m to award contracts to cut grasses in communities ravaged by Boko Haram insurgents this year.
The development is coming while the controversy generated by a similar contract worth over N200m awarded by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David-Lawal, has yet to abate.
The N60m in the 2017 budget of PCNI is to cover contracts to cut “shrubs, grasses and trees” along the Maiduguri-Mama Road alone.
Lawmakers picked out the figure when the PCNI appeared before the House Committee on Internally Displaced Persons to defend its N45bn on humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced villagers.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Sani Zoro, and other members were alarmed over the allocation.
“You can’t travel this same way (awarding contracts on grasses) again; it is not acceptable.
“Why can’t you assign this duty to the military to do it for you?
“They can use their personnel to clear the grasses and you can drop this idea of awarding contracts with N60m.”
Members were also worried that most provisions in the N45bn budget were for “security” and procurement of equipment for military services as against providing shelter, food, hospitals and schools for displaced persons.
“Your duty, from what we understand, is to provide succour for the displaced persons. These people are traumatised and they need urgent basic amenities as they return home. Rehabilitation has to do with their survival as human beings first,” Zoro added.
Members said several provisions appeared questionable.
Zoro noted,
“Maybe, you must first give us the mandate of the PCNI. You have N184m for screening programme for humanitarian activities.
What does that mean?
“There is N150m on advocacy and early warning system and N165m for conflict management.
“You are going to deliver security equipment for N200m. What type of security equipment? Then another N2.5bn for security outfits.
“Are you telling us that part of your role is to fund the operations of the military in the North-East? The military have their own budget already.
“Why are you not talking about food, shelter, medical care and schools for these IDPs?

It was gather by an eyewitness reporter of Eyes Of Lagos (Irawo) who narrated that a Lagos Danfo driver recklessly hits another at Meran Bus Stop Alagbado Lagos State, trailing him off the road towards Adura Bus Stop. This however did not end there. Instead of settling the matter amicably amongst themself, Both bus drivers called out their thugs and this escalated into a serious street riot. Thank God no lives were lost in this ridiculous riot

A 24-year-old female television worker, identified as Emma Hulse, has claimed that she was sacked from her job because she was ‘too good looking’.
According to Mirror UK, Miss Hulse who was hired as a freelance runner, claims production firm UNIT TV, located in Soho, told her to go home during a shift because ‘she should be on a catwalk’. She was however sent a message by her agent barely five minutes after starting work telling her she was ‘no longer required’.
In her words she said
“I was quite disappointed to be sent home. I didn’t really know what to do. Maybe that company employs plain looking people and maybe if you don’t look that way they don’t take you, maybe I was a distraction.”
She went on to say that she did not wear anything provocative as many may have have thought – she said she was wearing a shirt and trousers and ‘did not look inappropriate’ and had never been sent home before ‘because of her looks’.
But the company owner, Adam Luckwell, told the Mirror Miss Hulse was dismissed following a three month probation period. He said there were a number of things they found out in which they were not happy with.

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday presided over a meeting of the Presidential Task Force on Rice and Wheat as part of Federal Government’s efforts aimed at food security.


Those who attended the meeting included four state governors -Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Agricluture, Audu Ogbeh; and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, also attended.

Bagudu later told State House correspondents that the meeting reviewed the government’s wheat programme and what can be done to increase production.

He said, “This is the meeting of Presidential Task Force on Rice and Wheat and we reviewed the wheat programme and what we can do more to support states in order to increase production of wheat.

“We also want to ensure that our farmers who have responded to the call are supported in terms of getting good price for their output in order to sustain their interests.

“We reviewed where we are with rice production. The Acting President noted with satisfaction all the efforts be different stakeholders to attain sufficiency in the shortest possible time.

“The Acting President assured the meeting that the Federal Government will continue to support the drive towards self sufficiency in food security. He said the government, of necessity, will support the farmers, the millers and other stakeholders involved in the value change‎.”

When asked to confirm the claim that Nigeria is the second largest producer of rice in the world, the governor said he did not have the data.

He however said farmers have responded and about 32 states have showed readiness to increase production.

“I think we have done very well. We have remarkable increase in the number of states that have produced wheat from the last season.

“Last season, we had about five states but today we are hearing reports from about 11 states‎ and the increase in output per state is quite significant as well.

“So we believe that with sustained trajectory that we are seeing, we will be able to achieve our self-sufficiency,” he added.

MOTORISTS GROAN AS CONTRACTORS ABANDONS WORK ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE

The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has come under heavy criticism from residents in Lagos over the abandonment of the repair works in the Third Mainland Bridge and other adjoining roads.


The Agency, last month had begun repairs on both carriage ways of the Bridge, scrapping the asphalt on some section of the bridge, but had vacated site for over two weeks, leaving motorists to contend with the current state of the road.

Motorists had attributed several accidents which had occurred on the Bridge in recent times to the uncoordinated method by which FERMA was carrying out the repair works.

But investigations on Friday, however, showed that though the sum of N10billion was voted for FERMA in the 2016 Budget of the Federal Ministry of Works, the contractor engaged for the job was yet to be mobilised.

With the March 31, 2017 date for the end of the implementation of the 2017 budget fast approaching, FERMA had hurriedly moved the contractor to site, however its failure to mobilize them led to the repair works being stalled.

Some motorists in the State are however calling on the Minister of Works to rise up to the challenge and ensure that the Agency completes the repair works so as to save motorists the nightmare and the incessant accidents caused by the present state of the Bridge.

Mr. Babajide Kasali, a motorist who plies the axis on a daily basis, decried the long hours of traffic occasioned by the slow pace of the repair works, saying that it was gradually taking a toll on his health and productivity.

Another motorist, Mrs. Abidemi Otegbola said FERMA’s inability to carry out its duties was due to lack of proper monitoring by the parent ministry.

Acting EFCC Chairman may be rejected by the Nigerian senate for the second time.


According to reports, against his Senate confirmation as substantive Chairman of the anti-graft agency appear to be unwilling to back down.

They are even contemplating heading to the courts to ensure that Magu does not get the job.

"I am aware of talks of fresh petitions being received against the confirmation of Magu as EFCC boss. Aside the DSS report that nailed him the last time, it appears he will have some explanation to make whenever he appears before us," a source reportedly said.

“From what I learnt, the new petitions contain weighty allegations. Of course, the Senate will be properly guided by the rules in handling the matter. It is not for me to say whether the allegations are true or false. But I can tell you that we will expect the nominee to painstakingly convince us of his innocence in all the matters raised against him.”

Magu's initial nomination was shot down last December by the Senate citing a security report by the Department of State Security (DSS).

Commander of the task force, Major General Rogers Nicholas, said the group which specialises in producing babies for onward sales to other states of the federation was intercepted after intelligence report by the troop.

According to him, the group comprised of eight men and three women operating in Jos, north central region of Nigeria.

Giving details of their operation, one of the suspects said the group has a network spread across the country and they usually entice unsuspecting young ladies with mouth-watering offers and in other cases drug them with substances that lead to forced labour.

As investigations continue into the activities of the syndicate, it is important for security outfits to extend its network across the states especially places where the babies are being sold, so as to apprehend those involved in the heinous crime.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has reacted to Ali Modu Sheriff's threat to kick him out of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.


Addressing people of his state on Ekiti Radio-91.5FM and EKTV on Saturday, Fayose said he does not talk to “monkeys.”

“On that comment by Sheriff that he will kick me and Gov Wike out of PDP, I don’t talk to monkeys. That Appeal Court judgement is just a phase, it will fizzle out. All things will work together for good for me, that’s what the Bible says,'' Fayose said.

''All the Governors, National Assembly members, BOT, etc are on this side. So who is he going to be leading? Whether he is being backed by whatever forces, be it external or internal, good luck to him.

he operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an 18-year old serial phone thief in Oshodi. Sadeeq Wasiu, who had been imprisoned 7 times, was re-arrested on Tuesday, after several months of being on the operatives’ wanted list.

Wasiu, alias “Omo Eiye”, was arrested at Oshodi Under Bridge while trying to escape after snatching an Infinix Note 3 from an undergraduate. Before his arrest, Wasiu had been fingered to be the master minder of four phone thefts and two bag snatching attempt in Oshodi.

Sadeeq, who disclosed to interrogators that he was released from Potoki Prison, Badagry in January, 2017, said he ran away from Ikire, Osun State when he was 15 years old. “I was 15 years when I came to Lagos to work as a conductor in 2014. My parents were not aware I am in Lagos,” he stated.

He disclosed “My popular name is Eyie. I steal phones from people at Oshodi. We were three in my group; Ahmed alias Oyi, Tombolo and I. We have stolen more than 45 phones as a group and I have stolen countless number of phones individually.

I used to sell the phones at Idi-Oro, Mushin. I sell the phone according to their make. I sell some N10,000.00 and N8,000.00. I have gone to jail seven times. I sell Indian Hemp too. I buy it from Spider in Lagos Island and I resell in small raps to over 50 of my colleagues in Oshodi. I can buy N4,000 and brake into small wraps and sell for N8,000”

Governor Ambode Says FG Can’t Solve Nation’s Energy Sector Challenges Alone …32 Communities In Badagry To Be Connected To National Grid By March Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday said the quest by the country to achieve energy security can no longer be left for the Federal Government to address alone, just as he revealed plans by the State to attain 24-hour power supply through generation of 3000megawatts of electricity by 2022. Speaking at Lagos House in Ikeja after receiving the report of the Embedded Power Technical Committee constituted by the State Government with representatives from the public and private sector, Governor Ambode said while the Federal Government continues in its efforts to resolve the power crisis, the sustainable solution going forward would be the pulling together of commitment and resources of all stakeholders in the power value chain. AMBODE While explaining the rationale behind the embedded power initiative of the State Government, Governor Ambode said the major bane of the power situation in the country has always been with transmission, adding that the initiative was designed to permanently resolve power crisis in the State and by extension in the country. He said: “The reason why we embarked on this initiative is that we believe strongly that if the power problem is solved in Lagos, it is technically solved in the whole of the country and so because Lagos has more or less tested a solution that works, we can scale this up and also address it on a national scale. “The problem of power in Nigeria is the problem of transmission and that is the truth. Yes, we have generating companies and we have distributing companies and they say power is in the hands of the private sector but we know technically that that is not totally true. “We also know that transmission is hundred per cent owned by government but we have tested here in Lagos and we have been able to provide 48 kilowatts of power without transmitting it which means that we generate and then distribute. “So, if that works for 48 kilowatts, can we put Lagos into clusters and actually use embedded power initiative to drive the business of Lagos? That is what this initiative is all about and I want to thank all the stakeholders for submitting their business template into what government sees as the right step to take so that we can join hands together to say in the next two to five years, we can actually power Lagos and then grow our GDP.” Governor Ambode said the target of the State Government is to generate up to 3,000MW of power through accelerated deployment of various embedded power plants in strategic locations in the State within three to five years. Out of the 3000MW, the Governor said 350MW would be delivered by Q1 2018, additional 850MW by Q4 2018, and the balance of 1,800MW not later Q3 2022, while the State Government will support the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to be signed between the Distribution Companies and the embedded power providers, to enhance bankability of the projects. He said the embedded power will be distributed off-grid within Lagos State through the network of Eko and Ikeja Distribution Companies, while the State Government will support the Distribution Companies in upgrading their distribution infrastructure and installation of smart prepaid meters in the areas where embedded power is deployed. Other areas of collaboration, according to the Governor, would include support for collection, appropriate legislation and enforcement of power theft laws. Besides, Governor Ambode said his administration will collaborate with operators of oil blocks in the Lagos area to accelerate the extraction of gas feedstocks for power generation, adding that alternative sources of fuel would be explored to sustain uninterrupted power supply in the medium to long term, including partnerships on investments in gas pipeline infrastructure through the State’s owned oil and gas Corporation – Ibile Oil and Gas. While recalling the success of the Light Up Lagos Project with installation of over 47,000 poles of street lights, and connection of about 67 communities in the Ibeju Lekki axis to national grid after about six years off grid under the rural electrification project, Governor Ambode said another 32 communities in Badagry which have not had access to electricity for over sixteen years would be connected to the grid within the next 21 days. Responding on behalf of Distribution Companies (DISCOS), Chairman of Eko Distribution Company, Mr. Charles Momoh commended Governor Ambode for the embedded power initiative, saying it was the best thing that has happened to Lagos State in recent times. He also expressed the confidence of DISCOS in the ability of the Governor to see to the success of the initiative. Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai has disclosed that the Nigeria Army would recruit 12,000 men in 2017 to help fight insurgents and other uprisings across the country.


Buratai was speaking during a budget defence session with the House of Representatives Committee on Army.

According to him, the recruitment exercise would take place after the Army’s 2017 budget proposal of N152.8 billion is approved.

He further revealed that the exercise would be in two batches with 6,000 men first and another 6,000 later.

The army chief further explained that the Army was currently engaged in different operations in almost all the states of the federation, combating criminalities such as kidnapping, terrorism, pipeline vandalism, cattle rustling, among others.

He complained that delay in release of funds was frustrating military operations nationwide, adding that the morale of troops must be boosted regularly.

Edo State Police Command has arrested four persons, Aluma Sunday, Peter Olotu, Philip Ogeneka and Sunday Ogono, for allegedly killing a hunchback for money rituals. .

One of the suspects, Aluma, was said to have been nabbed during a stop and search operation by the police at Sabongida-Ora. Aluma was said to be taking the victims’ hunch to the native doctor’s residence in Ondo State. .

Speaking during a parade at the police headquarters, the suspects said it was poverty that drove them to look for where to make quick money. Aluma said he lived in the same Arue village with the victim and that it was Peter that killed the victim. .

On his part, Peter told journalists that he told the victim to accompany him to the farm where he strangled him and cut off the hunch. He said he left the body to rot away.

Peter said he took the hunch to Aluma who placed it inside a pot of honey for preservation before they were arrested. The native doctor, Philip, however denied asking them to bring a hunch back parts for money rituals. .

Philip said he only told them he heard from his father that there were some persons that could carry out the act in Ife. Police Commissioner, Haliru Gwandu, said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation

Since the commencement of the Treasury Single Account in September 2015, over 20,000 accounts with Deposit Money Banks belonging to Ministries, Departments and Agencies have been closed with a total sum of N5.24tn moved into the TSA.


The Accountant General of the Federation, Ali Ahmed Idris, gave the figures on Tuesday in Abuja, while speaking at the opening session of a two day retreat on TSA.

The event which was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal among other top government officials had as its theme, “One year anniversary of Treasury Single Account: Benefits, challenges and way forward.”

The TSA is a platform which was used by the government to unify all its accounts by ensuring that all monies belonging to the federal government are kept with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The initiative which took off fully in September 2015 had been complied with by over 900 agencies of government.

Since the commencement of the TSA, there had been series of job losses in banks owing to decline in deposits.

But the Accountant-General while speaking at the event described the implementation of the TSA as one of the success stories in the management of public finances.

For instance, he explained that through the policy, the government has been able to block leakages and abuse which had characterised the public sector before its commencement in October 2015.

Apart from blocking leakages, Idris said the TSA initiative has assisted the government to overcome the burden of indiscriminate borrowings by MDAs thus saving government a lot of bank charges associated with these borrowings.

For instance, he noted that prior to the full commencement of the TSA, the government was incurring about N4.7bn monthly on bank charges, adding that this has been eliminated through the TSA initiative.

He said, “The TSA journey started way back in April 2012. That journey could not see the light of the day as no significant gains were recorded largely due to the lack of political will.

“However, the issuance of TSA circular in August, 2015, coupled with the political will and enforcement, enabled us to achieve considerable progress on the TSA implementation.

“As at the 10th of February,2017, the total inflow of funds through the mop-up and direct debits by the Central Bank of Nigeria amounted to N5.24trn.

“We have successfully eliminated multiple banking arrangements, resulting into consolidation of over 20,000 bank accounts, which were spread over Deposit Money Banks across the country.

“This has further brought about transparency and effective tracking of government revenues.”

Security guard caught having sex with 10-year-old in generator house

A security guard with a restaurant in the FESTAC Town area of Lagos State, Covenant Dako, escaped death by a whisker after he was attacked by an angry mob for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl, The Kogi State indigene would have been lynched, but for the intervention of the policemen from the FESTAC Town division who responded to a distress call from the management of the restaurant.

He was subsequently rescued and taken into custody.

The 45-year-old had lured the victim with N50 and had rounds of sex with her in the restaurant’s generator house on Friday, February 3.

He allegedly took the victim again on February 6, and was having sex with her when he was sighted by a passerby who alerted residents.

He was beaten to a pulp before the police intervened. A source said the incident happened around 3pm.

He said, “The man works as a security guard with a restaurant on 22 Road, FESTAC Town. Around 3pm last Monday, he took a girl into the generator house and had sex with her. Somebody who was passing by, saw them and alerted people around. That was how he was caught in the act.
The girl who is in Primary 4, said it was the second time that he would defile her. She said she sometimes asked him for money and he always give her N50. She said the first time he defile her was on February 3. And when she asked him for money again four days later, he took her into the generator house and defile her.” A police source said the victim also lived in the neighbourhood, adding that her parent had been identified.

He explained that the minor, who strayed from home, had been taken to Mirabel Centre of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where test were conducted on her. “We are awaiting the results of the tests. But the suspect has confessed to the crime. He said the girl tempted him by always asking for money,” he added.
