Chai! I don miss this woman die! Na now I know sey I love her!!! Faka mama!!! |
Moderator please help move this to the proper place. Happy Democracy day to naija and happy birthday to me! Hi Nairalanders, I would love to celebrate my birthday by celebrating, my mother, your mother, our mothers with this epistle. Maternal Instincts Iyaniwura iye bi iye, Iya ko se fowo ra, O loyun mi fun osu mesan..... I woke up this morning in the cold region of the western world feeling strange just like every morning, only that this morning am feeling strangely excited. I have been away from home for years and I have been so far away from you, mother. Haa!!! iya mi owon! Going back the memory lane, today mark another year that you brought me into this world. You did not just give birth to me like any other primates but also nurtured me into a man, 'abi bawo? mo ti wu irugbon now'. I remembered how you breastfed me until I was three. Even then I had to dragged my few months old sister. E jeun omo pe lagbara Eledua!...... Father left the land of the living before I could read ABC and you were left to cater for us all, sending us to school even up to university level 'no be moimoi abeg'. Eba mi ki mama ku ise ojare! iya eni losa eni oosa bi iya osi. Eyin ara mi: Iya ose ropo! Gba be!!! Won so be motu tunwi!!! Itumo: To every one reading this: Mothers are irreplaceable! I remembered the day I beat Leke, the only son of iya Yetunde, 'wo iya jemi lojo naa'. The woman locked me inside her compound and she and her 4 daughters beat the crap out of me using cudgels, stones and others. I managed to escape by scaling a 6 feet fence to avoid story that touches the heart of mosquitoes. What happened sef? I went into her compound to woo one of her daughters, the youngest and the most pretty. Apparently, Leke did not like the idea so he got overprotective and confronted me. As a sharp guy I quickly used him to 'gba' star. To my greatest surprise, the girl I went to woo joined hand in beating me...afi bi film trick ni lojo naa.. Just few days ago I played a game, called Dixit, with a group of people including a mother and her son. The game has a simple rule of picking a card and saying a word that describes the card but in a coded way. Then others have to drop similar cards that fit the description of the original card. Finally, the cards are turned and each individual try as much as possible to guess the original card. In summary it is a psychological game that involves understanding the thoughts of others. The only mother that played the game with us defeated us all. Despite the fact that we were more familiar with the game(as it was her first time). She defeated us simply because she is a mother who understands how we think giving that she has a son within our age range who also played the game. That mothers are natural psychologists is left for the random variables be it Bayesians or the Frequentists. ...awon lomo emi ti wi temi.......Maternal instincts..... hmmmmm.. Ko tan sibe o! Who sat and watch your infant head When sleeping on your cradle bed, And tears of sweet affection shed? .......... I love you before me.....and I will always do forever and a day, mother. You did not only protected me from external forces but also from myself. I remembered the 'igbaju' and 'ifoti' that you normally used to reset me to my natural default whenever I wanted to 'yayakuya'. Oooh! Let me share this: When I was a boy, I would go to be with my pals and only come home when things go wrong. This fateful day, an older boy bullied me and he got a stone at the back of his head...'mofoko fo weyrey lori danu'..... Then as usual I ran home and pretended as if all was well. Later in the day the guy came to claim damages but mother protected me after I lied to her that I was not involved...... 'mo mope iro oda'.... but this is justifiable, lobatan!... When the guy and his parent left, mother beat the hell out of me for lying to her and for fighting.....'iya yi poo'....... When she was calmed I asked her how she knew that I lied and she said just this : Se mi ko mo bi e ni?....Am I not your mother? In otherwords, I know what you are capable of, son. I learnt my lesson never to lied to her again albeit in a hard way. Oro po nu iwe kobo amo, e nje danu duro. Lastly, These and many others are the reasons why it breaks my heart when mothers commit crime against the nation. Such as is evident in my lovely country. How could a woman and a mother that was supposed to care for the nation as she would to her children be found wanting?..... Ojukokoro lofa! oju to ti mu epo yo.....How could a woman that was supposed to back us and tie us with wrapper lest we fall....yakata...... blinded us with it instead? Ibeere, e je agbe yewo. Iyaniwura iye bi iye, Iya ko se fowo ra, O loyun mi fun osu mesan..... Emi omo ana ti wa ndagba bayi o! Mo ni dagba oshi mo deni yayakuya!! Gbogbo wahala awon obi wa lori wa oni jasasan o!!! Ase! Ase!! Ase!!! Loruko whatever you are serving..... Bo se jeni yen o! I love you mother! |
Darayola:The population in Sweden is not even up to that of Lagos and yet they make as much money as we do. |
Sweetguy25:Hi Sweetguy25. Am interested in the offer if you don't mind. |
ceejayluv:Well said! I couldn't agree any further! El-Rufai and Ribadu are one of a kind; Fearless, Intelligent and Unpredictable. Dora Akunyili? R.I.P Lets just hope that Buhari is the man we all want him to be. |
jaybee3:You are not far from the truth. Too many Nigerians in that so called school. Some of them will not even be offer masters in naija unis. |

Insiders alleged that the governor is deeply troubled with the recent development in his state. The first trouble he is dealing with is the impeachment move being put together by 19 APC lawmakers. Secondly, the man has bite the finger that fed him. He has offended President Goodluck Jonathan greatly and the man has decided to leave him to his fate. Sources inside the Presidency alleged that Fayose’s trouble with President Jonathan started during his re-election campaign. It was alleged that Jonathan entrusted his N21 billion campaign fund into Fayose’s hand which he allegedly mismanaged. Why President Jonathan Turns Down Request To See Fayose On His Visit To Aso Rock PDP sources said the President is angry with Fayose over mismanagement of campaign cash and image problem the governor caused him by his relentless attacks on the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, which soared support for the retired General while diminishing the profile of the President. Security sources said Fayose compounded problem for himself while condemning President Jonathan for not using soldiers for the election. “Security officers were holding a meeting with the governor and he was told to ensure adequate security to douse tension. Carelessly, the governor said he was not sure whether “that stupid President will agree like he refused to do during the presidential election”. “Unfortunately, Fayose did not know that he was being recorded. The tape was sent to the President who after listening to it decided to leave Fayose to his fate. Yesterday, Governor Ayodele Fayose was said to have sensed the danger coming for being rude to his political god-father, the man who brought him back into Ekiti State House from exile. Conspiracy theories here and there. Na real wa o! His administration is corruption personified simple! Its not what he did but what others did because he let them. Embezzling public fund is one thing but giving presidential pardon to wanted criminals is a signal to the rest of the world that the Jonathan government condone stealing of public funds. From a religious point of view who are we to judge? Perhaps the Otueke fisherman is trying to act like the biblical Jesus. But again one needs to be submissive to higher authority and last I checked Nigeria operates the rule of law and at such the law is the highest authority which everyone must submit to. As much as I like the man I do not like his administration for one bit. Well, there is still time for redemption, sir. Just expose the thieves in your administration to the General and he would handle things from there. Just so you know sir, we are aware of some names that should top the list e.g madam petrol. |

Stabbed 11 times!? This is not murder but execution. Its so unfortunate that her life was wasted in such manner. A message to all is that we should all be careful of who we relate with especially when it comes to love affairs. This could be a consequence of failed/jilted love affairs. Some peeps don't really know how to handle disappointment in relationship. Volatility |
So much for a first lady! In professors Soyinka's voice: Be a lady first before being a first lady! A wise woman keepeth her mouth and take care of her home but not my first lady. Just know that your husband needs more than goodluck to retain his presidency and all your rants will only damage him politically. I can never vote for a man with a tout as wife!!! Volatility |
Lamba Lambo: An untold story of Love and Hatred. An unforgettable coincidence It was in the middle of September 2001. School had just resumed and everyone is ambivalence. Some are happy to see their friends while others are sad to be back to another term of mental stress which could perhaps be described as torture to some. I on the other hand was apathy. My life is complicated everywhere and so it doesn't make any difference where I am at any point in time or space. Back at home I have a much more older lady that is taking advantage of the non-availability of my parents to constantly and repeatedly violate me every now and then. More so to that are my wicked step siblings who would send me on any absurd errands like washing females undies, buying of Indian hemps and many more. I just have to do what I have to do to survive. During the first week of resumption, there is always little or nothing to do other than cleaning the school environment and fighting for chairs and desks. Such were the characteristics of the then Schools. Just like every other students, I went looking for furniture here and there and finally found one. Before I could gather it together; three senior students comprising of a male and two female emerged from nowhere to claim it. I look at their intimidating heights and calculated my chances. I left there disappointed and went my way in search for another. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any and so I had to improvised throughout the term. A week later, I was on my way to school on a Monday morning and as my usual routine, I branched at Iya Basirat(a popular food vendor in the neighbourhood) shop to have my regular breakfast of Bread and Beans. Just as I finished collecting my plate of food I turned around to see that I had mistakenly poured someone else's food on the floor with my school bag. Her face looked quite familiar but something else caught my attention. Well, you guessed right! Her beauty! She was tall, dark and slim like a movie star. She has a beautiful face with super shining well arranged white set of teeth. Her pair of little beautiful eyes were complimented by a well shaped pointed nose. Before I could say sorry the victim had already retaliated in equal measure. I stood there for a few minutes perplexed. Beauty is good but character is better. As a well brought up African child, I could recalled vividly how my mother used to admonished my beautiful sisters on character. Beauty might get you to your husband house but good character will make a beautiful home, she would say. When I regained myself, I apologized and offered her all the money I had with me. She collected it, hissed and went to get another plate of food while I went back home and changed to a new uniform. I got to school late as a result of the incident and I was punished together with other 'late comers'. Meanwhile, it did not occur to me that she was a member of the team that deprived me of a chair.
