the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is opening a call for 3 (three) scholarships within the framework of the National Programme “Deutschland-Stipendium” for the funding period October 2018 to March 2020 (three semesters).
Especially high-achieving and highly motivated students of the MA Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights with excellent study performance can be supported with a monthly grant of € 300 over three semesters, independent of personal income.
50% of the scholarship is paid by private funders, dedicated enterprises or organisations and 50% by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Thierry Henry has agreed a deal to replace Leonardo Jardim and become Monaco's new manager, according to Sky sources.

Jardim was sacked earlier this week with Monaco - who reached the Champions League semi-finals and won Ligue 1 in 2016/17 - languishing in 18th place with just one win from their opening nine matches.

The move will be Henry's first into management, and will see him leave his role as a member of Roberto Martinez's backroom staff with Belgium.

The former Arsenal and France forward was linked with the Aston Villa job following Steve Bruce's sacking last week, but that job eventually went to Dean Smith.

Henry will be returning to familiar surroundings at Monaco, having begun his professional playing career with the principality side.

He left his role as a pundit with Sky Sports in the summer, saying he wanted to focus on his ambition of becoming a manager.

Lawyers representing Kathryn Mayorga have urged Cristiano Ronaldo to hand over any evidence that backs up the claim that key documents related to the alleged rape were fabricated.

Ronaldo has "vehemently" denied the rape allegation made by Mayorga, saying he had "consensual" relations with his accuser.

The lawyer representing Ronaldo said on Wednesday that the documents were stolen by a cyber criminal in a hack in 2015 and significantly "altered or completely fabricated".

A statement from lawyers, Larissa Drohobyczer and Leslie Stovall, representing Mayorga, said: "We thank Cristiano Ronaldo's latest lawyer for confirming and admitting in his October 10, 2018 statement that the 'Football Leaks' documents were obtained from Cristiano Ronaldo or individuals acting on his behalf.

"We look forward to reviewing any evidence that tends to prove, as Mr Ronaldo's lawyer asserts, that some of the 'Football Leaks' documents were altered, fabricated, or contain false/inaccurate information.

"In both civil and criminal cases, disputes regarding the accuracy of documents are generally questions of fact to be decided by the jury. A jury determines the accuracy of disputed documents by: 1) Comparing of the different versions of the disputed documents; 2) Listening to the testimony of the individuals who wrote, prepared, transmitted, and stored the disputed documents; 3) Considering the circumstances under which the documents were written, prepared, transmitted, stored and maintained; and 4) Listening to the testimony of forensic experts who have examined the disputed, and the devices upon which the documents were written, prepared, transmitted, and stored.

"In a civil case, discovery is conducted to obtain evidence regarding these matters through the exchange of disputed documents, the forensic examination of disputed documents and devices, and the examination of witnesses under oath. In criminal cases, the prosecutors rely upon investigator's review of disputed documents, the forensic examination of devices and disputed documents, and questioning of witnesses.

"Any document or information under the control or in the possession of Cristiano Ronaldo should be immediately turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and the offices of Stovall & Associates to expedite the investigation and resolution of the alleged discrepancies in the 'Football Leaks' documents."

Mayorga filed a lawsuit late last month in Nevada saying she was raped by Ronaldo in Las Vegas in 2009.

The Belgium star backed the Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder to claim the top individual prize this year

Luka Modric will win the Ballon d'Or as reward for his "wonderful season", according to Belgium and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Modric, 33, is the favourite to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's dominance of the award, which one of the greats has won in each of the past 10 years.

The Croatia captain led his nation to the World Cup final after helping Real Madrid win the Champions League in 2018.

Hazard – another contender for the prize – said Modric, named FIFA's Best Men's Player last month, would deservedly win the award.

"I don't think I'm going to win it. In my opinion, Modric deserves it," he told a news conference.

"There are three to four players. I could say [Madrid and France defender Raphael] Varane because he won a lot too. I could deserve it too, let's not lie.

"But seriously, I think that Modric will win it. It is going to be a reward for his wonderful season in the Champions League and the final of the World Cup."

The Blues talisman admits he remains unsure over where he will be playing his football next season, as he opens up about his future

Eden Hazard says that he is finding it a 'hard decision' over whether to renew his Chelsea contract and has reiterated that moving to Real Madrid is something he has dreamed about.

Chelsea are keen to secure Hazard on a new deal following a summer of interest from Madrid, but the Belgium international has so far been reluctant to renew a contract which has less than two years left to run on it.

The 27-year-old has been central to Chelsea’s impressive form this season, with Maurizio Sarri’s side second in the Premier League on goal difference after eight games going into the international break.

Hazard is the Premier League's top goalscorer with seven goals after his strike in Sunday’s 3-0 win at Southampton and he admits that his next decision could define his future.

"Yes, that's why I spoke after the World Cup and I said that I think it is time to change because I played a great World Cup," Hazard told reporters at St Mary's Stadium. "I am really in the game, I am playing good football at the moment. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don't want to lie today.

"It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club. We will see. I don't want to talk about this every day. I don't have time, but we will talk about my future soon. I think so. It is also when you have a dream and you want to make it happen.

"It is like I have said a lot of times, if I leave I will be happy. I know if I stay, I will be happy. It is not like if I go I am happy and if I stay that I am unhappy."

Hazard's close friend Thibaut Courtois has become a pariah among the Chelsea fanbase after a series of press conferences has left them frustrated.

Chelsea fans now have a number of unflattering chants for their goalkeeper, who ran down his contract to force a £35 million summer move to Madrid, and Hazard says he is wary of tarnishing his reputation, like Courtois, should he leave Stamford Bridge.

"I don't want that," he added. "I want what's good for me, but I want what's good for the club because the club has given me everything. I don't want to say, 'yes I am signing a new contract', and then in the end I don't end up signing. So, I will see.

"In my head, sometimes in my head I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and I will turn 28 in January."



Chelsea regard Hazard as their most marketable player and a contract renewal could see their star man become a real club legend. He already ranks in the top 10 goalscorers of all time at the club, while he has won a host of honours already at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard would land a new five-year deal in west London on around £300,000 a week upon a contract renewal but he is still unsure if there is any one thing Chelsea can do to finally close the deal.

"I don't know," when asked what it would take to convince him to stay. "I am happy and I don't need anything. It is not trophies. Of course, when you play, you want to win, but I just want to enjoy things on the pitch, like I am at the moment. Then, I am happy.

"I could talk now. If they come to me, then I will talk. I don't want to say that I am not talking (at all) with the club or the owner. I am talking a lot with them. So, we just need to find a good solution."

What is clear is that Chelsea are becoming reliant on Hazard, who has been involved in 12 goals in his last 11 appearances, scoring nine times and providing three assists.

Hazard was asked whether he was fed up with questions about his future and contract situation but signed off in honest fashion.

"No, this is part of journalism, you know," he added. "It is better to talk about football but it is okay, no problem."

Jose Mourinho delivered a short press conference on Friday morning to preview Manchester United's match vs Newcastle , with no signs of his mood thawing.

A poor display in the goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League hardly snapped his side out of their poor run.

A 0-0 Champions League draw had the Old Trafford outfit's boss bemoaning the lack of quality in his side against a top-level team

Jose Mourinho questioned the "technical quality" in his Manchester United team following Tuesday's goalless draw with Valencia at Old Trafford.

United made it four games without a win in all competitions after another limp performance in their second Champions League match of the season.

There was some improvement on last Saturday's display in their 3-1 loss to West Ham, but Valencia were not unduly troubled by the United attack and could have taken all three points had they made the most of opportunities on the break.

Speaking afterwards, Mourinho seemed to warn United fans not to expect much success from 2018-19 and claimed he could not be honest in his assessment for fear of further criticism of his methods.

"I think there are things that is difficult for me to say and if I say something funny, I'm leaving myself... it would be another reason to criticise me and I think you have enough," he told a news conference.

"So, I prefer just to say that when last season we finished second and we finished runners-up in the FA Cup, we won our group in the Champions League. I thought it was a fantastic season. I knew why."

Earlier, Mourinho appeared to suggest it would be difficult for United to improve upon their achievements of last season, when they finished second in the Premier League to Manchester City but failed to win a trophy.

He told BT Sport : "I told in pre-season that last season was phenomenal. To finish second, reach the FA Cup final, win the group in the Champions League... I said it was a very, very good season and I don't say more than that."

Mourinho felt the draw was a fair result but again seemed to question his players' quality by claiming his side lack defenders capable of building attacks.

"Frustrating, because it's not the result we want," he continued. "There were some improvements in our performance. [We knew] if we don't perform at least at an acceptable level, we would lose and defeat would leave us in a difficult situation.

"In such a difficult group, if you cannot win, you don't lose. We were the team that tried more, that had probably a couple of big chances to win, but I accept the result as a fair result.

"The players, they tried, they raised the level of their effort, they raised the level of their intensity. We tried to play but in some crucial phases we didn't have the technical quality to build from the back.

"We knew we would not create 20 chances. Our attacking players are not in their best moment of confidence and individual performance level, so we thought with three or four chances we would score and win the game, which we didn't.

"It's not a bad result but it's not a good result. We have Newcastle before the league stops [for the international break] and after that we have Chelsea and Juventus in three days. It would be really good for the team if we can beat Newcastle."

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore,has explained why he decided to form an alliance with the All Progressives Congress,APC ahead of Thursday Osun State rerun election.

Omisore who had been visited by PDP and APC leaders for an alliance on Wednesday finally announced his decision to join APC.

On why he signed alliance with APC, Omisore in a letter he personally signed on Wednesday, titled: ‘Formation of Coalition Government and Rerun of Governorship Election on Thursday 27th September, 2018, on Osun State,” said his decision to form an alliance with the APC was because of its readiness to adopt and implement SDP’s programme.

The letter reads, “Our decision to form a coalition government is based on a party that is ready to work with SDP to adopt and implement the core values of our party which is social justice, equity and good governance.

“The PDP and APC parties have approached us for coalition based on our performance and grassroots network, especially in the seven units earmarked for rerun.

“Our core values and philosophies as indicated in our SDP manifestos, ‘Restoration Agenda,’ have all been presented to the APC and PDP representatives who have approached us for support and formation of a coalition government.

“The core party’s programmes include: “Professionalism and Performance in the Public Sector,” which by interpretation, “Workers must be motivated and trained; Payment of the accumulated salaries; Pensions and arrears within the first three months of the administration; to be followed by payment of full salary to all categories of workers.

“Revamping of Education Sector; Equity in Access to Services across Osun State; Local Content and Innovation in the Investment and Development of the state; Focus on robust and Effective security of all and sundry.

Popular prophet and founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele has predicted that a well-coordinated coalition of opposition parties would dethrone the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, but warned that the ruling party may still win on technical grounds such as relying on loopholes in the nation’s electoral laws.

Primate Ayodele had made the predictions in his annual book of prophecies, entitled: “Warning to the Nations” 2018/2019 edition. The book was launched some months ago in Lagos.

The prophet had said: “In Osun State, some natural resources will boost the economy if the state will be discovered and harnessed. The state needs prayers against debts. I foresee that the people will kick against the present government of the state. The coning election will be tough. I forsee that the APC, PDP and ADP will be the prominent political parties. The APC and PDP should be focused because either of the party will be enthroned. There will be series of political gang ups in the state. The APC needs to win in technical ground so as to retain the the governorship seat otherwise ADP or PDP will take over.”

The cleric had also predicted the political travails of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, advising him to seek the face of God: ” Lagos State needs prayers for divine intervention. The governor will face some political challenges. The governor will face political conspiracy. Let us pray against explosion and flood in Lagos,” he said.

The APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had been wooing the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator lyiola Omisore as he is believed to hold the key to either side winning in some polling units among the ones the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) penned down for a re-run on Thursday.

Omisore has now announced an alliance with the APC.

Following controversial reactions trailing INEC’s declaration of the September 22 election as inconclusive, the PDP national body on Sunday, called on INEC to announce the party’s candidate, Ademola Adeleke as governor-elect on the grounds that he had the highest vote count in the Saturday’s governorship poll in the state. It accused INEC of colluding with APC to rob its candidate of victory at the poll. APC has however denied colluding with INEC, stating that the electoral umpire’s decision was taken in the best interest of democracy and fairness.

Speaking about the general elections in 2019, Primate Ayodele urged Nigerians to brace up for more challenges as the Government of the day would not tolerate criticism. He hinted that some forces behind the Federal Government would take concrete measures to ensure they hold on to power beyond 2019 even though Nigerians will decide otherwise.

“Nigerians need to seriously seek the face of God ahead of the 2019 general elections. There are forces in the present government who would do anything to ensure the current Federal Government does not lose power,” he said.

The PDP in a statement said the Buhari Presidency and APC, having realized that there is no way they can muster the constitutionally required two-third votes of the 109 senators (representing 73 senators), engaged in underhand tactics, including the invasion of the National Assembly, which turned out a disgraceful adventure.

Even before then, Nigerians were already aware of moves to use humongous funds to induce lawmakers to trigger crisis in the National Assembly and pave the way for the removal of presiding officers. Now that they have discovered that there is no way they can achieve their devious intentions, they have commenced a war of blackmail, distortions of fact and media trial against the Senate leadership, which, of course, will end up as another wasteful venture as Nigerians are aware of the long-drawn desperation of the Buhari Presidency to annex the legislature.

Even among the ranks of the depleted APC senators and members of the House of Representatives, there is a huge aversion to the underhand tactics being deployed by the Buhari Presidency and the APC to force out duly elected presiding officers of the National Assembly.

As such, such lawmakers are fully aligned with Nigerians, the PDP and the National Assembly leadership in the protection of the independence, sanctity and integrity of our parliament and all democratic institutions in our land. It is therefore instructive for both the Buhari Presidency and the APC to know that there is no way they can remove the leadership of the National Assembly, particularly the Senate.

Consequently, the PDP cautions the Buhari Presidency and the APC to stop overheating the polity with their outbursts and shed future perverse attempts to circumvent our rules and constitution, as such will not help them or change the resolve of Nigerians to vote them out in 2019.

Former member of the National Assembly, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has urged all security agencies in the country to learn from the recent siege to the National Assembly which led to the sack of Lawal Daura as the Director-General of the Department of State Service, DSS.
While speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja on Friday, he regretted that instead of professionalism, the incident demonstrated how security agencies were used by politicians, and also depicted an abuse of power by the DSS.
Amori, who is currently the political adviser to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, applauded the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for his swift action on the issue “which saved Nigeria from ridicule before the international community’’.

“The prompt sacking of Director-General of DSS by the acting president restored Nigeria’s honor and immediately obliterated the odium the security operatives’ action brought on the country.
“The acting president acted very well in checking that coup against democracy. He did quite well to restore the country’s integrity,” he said.
Speaking further, the former lawmaker stressed that overzealous and partisan security agencies should not be tolerated, adding that “from what we have seen in the incident, this country is just too big for anybody to paint black’’.

Amori said, “What happened in Nigeria on Tuesday was a big shame to the country. They were wielding guns and barring everybody as if they were going to war.
“Imagine the number of members of the international community that condemned the action. It was a minus for the country.”
He urged the Presidency to take serious steps to check the excesses of the security apparatus, saying that, “I don’t think that they are doing the APC government any good by their actions.
“The security agencies are more in the news than politicians and government.
“In civilised societies, we never saw what happened in Nigeria there; it is because our own people are not exposed.
“In the UK or US, you never heard of an IG or so, but here, every day, the IG, DSS and others are all over the place. It is hardly heard of in any society,’’ the former lawmaker said.

A man, MyrddinBach shares a report that claims the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has been solved.
The Bermuda Triangle is a loosely-defined region of water between the southernmost tip of Florida, Puerto Rico, and the island of Bermuda to the north.

British oceanographers now believe that "rogue waves" are responsible for the disappearance of a number of ships in the region. VICE News reports:
So what are rogue waves? Basically, they're abnormally large and unexpected waves in open sea. Dr Simon Boxall, an Oceanographer from the University of Southampton who led the new study, explained on a Channel 5 documentary The Bermuda Triangle Enigma: "there are storms to the South and North, which come together... we've measured waves in excess of 30 meters.
The bigger the boat gets, the more damage is done." His team re-created the intense surges of the 30 meter waves by using indoor simulators.

Then to see what such a wave would do to a large ship, they built a model of the USS Cyclops, a carrier that went missing in the Bermuda Triangle in 1918 and claimed the lives of 309 people.

Rochas Okorocha, the Imo State Governor has said he stands a better chance of becoming Nigeria’s President in 2023.
Okorocha, who is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, made the declaration while addressing newsmen at the state’s Government House in Owerri, the state capital, yesterday.
”I stand a better chance of making the Presidency in 2023 but my greatest challenge will come from the Igbo. It is our character.
“It will be a foolish thing to imagine that the Igbo will support me,” he said.
The governor noted that people of the South East political class has the “pull-him-down syndrome where they never support or believe in anyone from their region.”
Okorocha stated that the support he required to achieve his presidential aspiration will come from other regions.

National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole announced Senator Godswill Akpabio as the new leader of the party at a mega rally in Ikot Ekpene that formally received Akpabio into the party.
Oshiomhole described Akpabio as an uncommon transformer for pulling a mammoth crowd to the Ikot Ekpene Stadium. To him, the sea of heads at the stadium, the energy of the youth, their sheer determination, as evidenced by the fact that they had been waiting since morning, were indicators that they wanted a change in the state.
Oshiomhole said: “today (yesterday) is historic in the life of our party (APC). For too long, when I was governor of Edo State, even now my successor, Godwin Obaseki, we have always said that in the whole of the Southsouth, it is only in Edo State that APC has a governor. The chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Walid Jibril has said it was the action of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that made the PDP donate former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio to the APC.
According to him, it was the response of the Acting President to the security siege at the National Assembly that made the opposition party allow Akpabio to go.
He, however, said that the PDP wants Akpabio to learn from the past.
He also said the PDP was happy “donating ” the former Senate Minority Leader, to the APC.

Walid said it was within his right to decamp to another party, adding that there were competent hands in the party to take over from him.

“The recent attempt to tamper with the legitimate function of the National Assembly by selfish individuals who attempted to block the Assembly should be condemned and appropriate action taken against the intruders,” Walid told reporters in Abuja yesterday.
“In this respect, the Acting President Osinbajo should be praised for taking a decision to do away with the DSS boss, promising that the situation will be further investigated.
“The purported resignation of our minority Leader, Godwill Akpabio is also an act of democracy.

“Therefore, considering the recent action taken by Acting President Osinbajo, the PDP is happy to donate Senator Godwill Akpabio to APC through him with great pleasure, as we have many PDP Senators to do that job which has been upgraded to majority leader.

“On behalf of the BOT we wish Akpabio bye-bye and safe journey, advising him to learn from history especially from those that left us and are now returning in droves,” he said.

Recall that Mrs Oluremi, who is the wife of a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu was ordained assistant pastor during RCCG’s 66th Annual Convention yesterday.
In attendance was the APC’s National Leader and former governor of the State.
The APC National Leader also met with the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Reacting to Mrs Tinubu’s ordination, Freeze in a tweet wrote, “Congratulations to Mrs Tinubu, did she ordain Adeboye into politics..or is it the other way around? I didn’t quite get the story, congratulations anyway, we wish them well!”.
