Get a large bin with tight cover. After pouring manure into it, put a carbon source(smooth sawdust, dry grasses, shredded papers, etc) on top. You turn the mixture together once in a week. And cover up. Like that for 6 months.

By then, the pathogens would have died off and it will be odourless. You can then mix with soil for your nurseries or as side-dressing on your farm.

The highest I did when applying poultry manure was wrap something around my hands, although I think spraying insecticide might require the nose mask.

However, my search for rabbit manure still continues, aside it has been said severally here to be better than poultry, I'm also damn sure it won't be as heavy as poultry manure, cos poultry manure is so so heavy to carry, walahi

So my people total harvest numbers from this cucumber planting season:

Jorad section: 146 bags
Cu999 section : 324 bags
Total harvest: 470 bags

We didn't quite make the 500 bags but I am so grateful to God. More than 100% return on total investment in approximately 8 weeks. However there is plenty of room for improvements. Another area of my farm is currently been prepared, it is slightly smaller at about 4 plots than the one used to get the quoted harvest, but the target this time is 500 bags.

PS. Bros Emeka, have you planted yet? You definitely need to install drip irrigation on your farm because with this system in place you can definitely get your target of 50 bags over an half plot area (and with fertigation it should be relatively easy). I am working on putting some useful material (cucumber planting instructions, best practices and the recipe I am currently using and still developing) together for the public audience in this thread. Means you got an average of about 6 fruits per seed for the Darina f1. It's cool. You'd have probably gotten more bags with Murano 2 or Cu999. Cos the Darina f1 is small in size. Cu999 fruit is almost twice Darina fruit.

at 120 pieces per bag,I am projecting 6.5 cucumbers per plant,not a bad production considering the relentless attack of downy mildrew this rainy season and the medium size of the cukes,it's a good production,but I think if you did Murano it may yield more, because Murano is bigger than darina.

Plantzyme by Biostadt is truly a wonderful seaweed extract foliar fertilizer. I have used it before and you see the obvious difference after it's foliar application. I was seriously looking for their product one time in abuja but I didn't find. Even their expired product is still very effective.
I love using GENUINE seaweed extract based foliar products.

well you can plant without manure,it will germinate and if the soil is good,it will boost it for at least 2 weeks before you can apply fertilizer,but I will not advice putting fertilizer before planting ,we have tried that and all the seeds did not germinate,NOTE you can only try the no manure before planting on a fertile soil,if it's our type of soil,hmm!!

The whistle had been blown and the race is on, between monalisa and cu 999 we will know which one that will cancel the other,in every contest there must be a winner,we used a standard measure bowl that dispenses 1 kg of pig manure per hole so all the crops will have equal ration of nutrients ,all the crops are planted on may 2,so we will know which one will flower,fruit and mature first.we planted 500 monalisa and 1200 cu 999,but we pegged off a portion that has 500 cu for the test.

Like he rightly pointed out, most likely the Fertilizer applied, and yes, it doesn't have to cut across for all. Could just be that particular one. Moreover, when did it occur? Was it before the application or after? Nevertheless, it's nothing serious I insist. If it's just a plant like you right said, why not uproot and discard. But while at that, let's have look at the roots for further evidence (just a picture of the root structure will do).

remove the root and snap for better diagnosis. If its NPK you will see the end stem thin(burnt)

FMCASH:
might be the NPK if closer to the plant. If your irrigating tank its for you plant only, fertigation is your best bet.

This ain't leaf roll if what I am seeing is actually what I am seeing Nevertheless, it still looks like a withered plant due to lack of water or soil root issues!!! Did you apply fertilizer lately? or any applications of any thing lately?
