Hi everyone, hunee, africankel etc. please I do need your advice. I intend to have family trip to SA this December. Our last visit was 2023. It was hectic because everything was sudden etc. I wish to know the best time to apply for visa. I usually apply for sticker visa from their embassy.

Do kindly advice.

Reason was given to them. The time the visa got out. The program has finish. No need of travelling. Yet they denied the visa. Maybe it's luck

This is so strange. Perhaps there was something else amiss with the application.

I’ve had about 3 or 4 Schengen visas now. The first one I used was Portugal-issued, I used it and in fact Rome was my first point of entry (there’s no direct flight to Lisbon and this was the shortest route). I was worried I wouldn’t get it the second time (since I wasn’t stamped in by Portugal authorities at all)

This time it was tourist and I used only my statement, I got it from France. Life happened and I didn’t use it because the trip I booked was linked to a London trip and I never got the visa for that so had to cancel it all.

I applied again, I was scared I wouldn’t get it because I didn’t use my first French-issued visa, but I got it (bank balance a little over 2m). I’ve just applied for another one (I even dared to ask for a longer validity in my cover letter) so let’s see how this comes out. Summary is I’m not sure they can deny a visa just because you didn’t use a previous visa but then again, I recall explaining in my cover letter why I didn’t use that visa though.

I don’t think a country should penalize you for not using a tourist visa. The visa fees have been taken from you and if they reject you, it’s non-refundable. In that same vein, you should be allowed to exercise your right to use the visa or not.

Even after first visa, it doesn't get any easier. Got first visa travelled came back and apply together wily family twice no visa. They are just doing random stuff

It is possible to spend 120k monthly. Very possible. I don't doubt that. The main issue is your statement of account.

Forget the 3 Countries you have travelled to. A list or no A list. UK visa officers don't get carried away with all of that. I know people with US valid visas that UK denied. Travel history does help - but other things must be in place. Especially your statement of account. After your first visa, it gets easier...

Work on your statement of account and ensure you can defend the inflow. They don't care much about outflow.

Why would you go and buy ticket especially for France. They can deny even frequent traveller not to talk of first timer:. Do not be discourage shaa. But next time do not pay for flight till you get visa. France are acting up lately denying visa and granting first timer as well. Seems it's a random thing for them now.

Edit and print refusal already in their system. Just paste applicant name and details and print.

Partially, they were the reason I didn't travel. I made application earlier and they keep the application untouched till 2 days when the program I want to attend has started and it's visa validity of 15days and I receive my passport on the 3rd day. So I can't start travelling on the 3rd day of the event that suppose to last for 5days. Meanwhile I have valid canada Uk and china and SA on the passport. It's their choice. I only apply for visa when am in need of it.

There is this "crase" amongst these vo.s ; if you get issued a visa once or twice and you dont use it , be rest assured of hammering the 3rd time unless your case is justifiable will you be pardoned.
I best believe visas are planned for before initial applications but for contingencies or change of plans, most people do not make these trips. It is however not the story on the other end as they seemingly see it as a waste of slot or supposed "quota" to those who needed it at that time.


In summary, apply for visas when one is most likely certain to travel or have a pressing desire or event then target certain seasons.

If you apply for vacation now against the ember months , there are higher chances of approvals.

No I didn't . I don't have much need for France for now.

yes. It's 100 percent possible. I use my first visa. Got the second one didn't use it. Apply the 3rd one and was refused.

No oroblem. The mail was not actually for help. Just wanted to tell you my experience at OR Tambo how their immigration wanted to obtain bribe from me because our flight was changed to next day and we will be over staying by that 1 day. Men Nigeria immigration is better than them in OBT
