Responsibilities:

•     Monitor passengers' travel request, and ensure that tickets are issued promptly and accurately.

•     Make reservations, bookings and advise customers on reservation status on or before flight departure.

•     Prepare tickets sales report on a weekly basis.

•     Ensure that seats are not duplicated by coordinating all outlets.

•     Manage a dedicated team of customer care representatives in the delivery of their daily responsibilities.

•     Ensure strict adherence to laid down business policies and procedures.

Requirements
Education:

•     A minimum of B.Sc. in Social Sciences, Business Administration or any other related field.

Experience:

•     At least 2 years ticketing & reservation experience in travels and tour agency.

Competences
Knowledge:

•     He/she must have completed an IATA course on Fares and Ticketing.

•     Ability to use the Amadeus, Sabre and other booking platforms on GDS is COMPULSORY

Skills/physical Competencies:

•     Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

•     Ability to listen and effectively communicate accurately important information to prospective clients.

•     Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

•     Ability to work with little or no supervision.

•     Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with new customers, and maintaining them over time.

Behavioural Qualities:

•     Great Interpersonal Skills

CharlyG1: Ok.. I did mine just lastweek.[Merchant Aquisition Specialist position]. Dey asked me when i cud start.. And dey asked me how much i wanted.. Then dey said dey'll get back to me dis week but i havnt seen any of their mails or phone calls..
We were abt 10pple present for d interview. I think dey're still interviewing others,mayb dats wat's causing d delay. D guy dat interviewed me told me dey had even interviewed others b4 me.
Mayb we shld b patient till nxtweek.

After recently having 2 phone interviews I think more companies should embrace that method for the first stage and save their own and people's time and money.

my thoughts exactly, you can't call some all the way from abuja to Lagos for a position thats meant to be abuja for interview, after the whole thing nothing tangible may come out of it. I think they should device a proper way to conduct their 1st stage interview.
