The Mbaise people are the root of Catholicism in Nigeria. I have studied the news from both sides and I think the Pope didnt do a nice job by not listening to the Mbaise people.

The moment you keep imposing Priests from other tribes who are not Catholics but by virtue of Nigeria's tribal nepotism allow one tribe to lord over the very known Catholic tribes, then you cause trouble.

I am proud that Mbaise people disobeyed the Pope. They are the root of Catholicism in Nigeria and in fact Africa. They have so many Priests but none was considered worthy enough, but a different tribe and people are always choosen and imposed on them.

It is time that Catholic Church stop using this language of 'annointing' to cheat Africans. You are using our money to develop Vatican and you want to impose people on us.

It wont work.

Hardly comment on this forum but my heart skips reading your comment. Jesus!!! Are you really a Christian? You take pride in disobedience of a people to a Pope? You feel Bishops are selected on tribal basis? Please check how many Igbos are Bishops in places outside Igbo land in Nigeria and at least, broaden your knowledge! Do you also take pride that it is easier for an Igbo priest to be a Bishop outside Igbo land than in Igbo land? Which of your "money" is being used to "develop" Vatican? It sucks really reading this from someone who presumably went to school but I'm sorry, school never passed through you.

Business / Re: GTBank Has Refused To Reverse A Fraudulent Transaction Made On My Account by wagzyl: 1:00pm On Mar 03, 2017
Nmercy:
Hi Guys,

I have a very serious issue regarding a fraudulent transaction that occurred on my account in the first week of Feb. this year 2017. I got an alert early that morning that a new beneficiary has been set up on my account and the next alert came in almost immediately saying total of one million naira has been transferred from my account to the beneficiary account. I quickly rushed to the nearest gtb branch and complained.

Fortunately, the transfer was made to a gtb account and so they were able to freeze the account. After all questioning as to if I knew the beneficiary and if I made the transfer, they eventually told me to get a bank order to enable them reverse the transfer.

I quickly sent an email to my account officers to intimate them about the situation while I get the bank order to which they responded that they will do the needful when I get the bank order. I employed the service of a lawyer who was able to get the court order on Friday 17th Feb and subsequently submitted the court order at the head office Lagos the following week.

I waited for about 4days for the reversal but nothing happened. I followed it by sending a mail to my account officer who claimed that they are still awaiting the court order. I responded by saying the court order has been submitted to the head office already and that he should check but up till now he never responded back. Another copy of the court was then submitted again to the head office 3days ago but nothing has happened since.

I have read some thread regarding similar case on nairaland and I am coming to the conclusion that I may have to escalate this issue to cbn but I do not know the appropriate email address. Please, I ask concerned one here on nairaland to help me on this case.

thanks

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) said in Abuja that it enrolled 362,000 new citizens the nation over inside the most recent couple of months.

Administrator of the administration, Mr Babatunde Fowler, unveiled this while instructing newsmen after a budget defence session with the Senate Committee on Banking and other Financial Institutions.

He said that the administration was focusing to meet 90 percent consistence with tax paying.

“The honest truth is that when it comes to payment of Value Added Tax (VAT), less than 10 per cent in terms of numbers actually are remitting on VAT. If those people who are benefiting from Nigeria and actually have the love for Nigeria can do the right thing by paying their taxes they will be empowering government to provide services.

“We intend to make sure that we get at least 90 per cent compliance. Over the last few months, we have added over 362, 000 new tax payers and then our job is just to make sure that we enforce payment,” he said. Fowler added that the service planned to recruit 1,250 new staff once its budget was approved.

President Buhari presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting and approved N6 trillion expenditure for 2016 Budget under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF). Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.‎ According to him, an oil price of $38 per barrel of crude oil and 2.2 million production barrels per day were projected in the framework.

"At today’s Council, the Council approved the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF which sets out the policies of government over the next years. It sets out the fundamental economic underpinning of the budget. The highlights are as follows: we project and we are working with $38 crude oil price, we consider that to be very conservative but because of the uncertainty, we felt that we should start with a conservative crude oil price."he said

"This is political witch-hunting. Bode George and Odili are formidable PDP stalwarts. All these dictatorial tendencies of PMB is taking Nigeria way back to 1984 and making a mockery of the significant progress GEJ made in strengthening Nigeria's democracy. I expect the children of hate to come and spew their usual diatribe above. Anyone supporting the illegality and inhuman political witchcraft practiced by PDP goons should have his/her head examined. This issue is beyond party affiliation, tribe, ethnicity or religion no matter whose ox is gored. Looting funds meant for protection of the country while people (Armed Forces and Civilians) die and lose their loved ones and properties is the height of witchcraft and should be cured by witch-hunt!!! I don't know when things will be okay in this country! Worse still is seeing young people like myself sticking out their necks for these bastards and insulting those who dare oppose their views. It is more ironic that it is the same young people who rush to kill petty thieves and rejoice over their deaths that still worship those who have looted us dry. From Buhari to Tinubu to Atiku to El-Rufai etc., all have dirty linens no doubt, but what I find unacceptable is how we Nigerians cry wolf whenever any attempt is made to bring someone to justice by whatever means (witch-hunting, persecution, etc). No one can witch-hunt or persecute the innocent in Nigeria politics for this long. May God bring these evil men chronic shame and collapse of their evil empires.

Politics / Ban Eze Ndigbo Title Outside Igbo Land - Igbokwe by wagzyl: 2:27pm On Oct 26, 2015
The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, has called for the abolition of the Eze Ndigbo title outside Igbo land.

He said the craze for title by the Igbo indigenes outside their states of origin was making a mockery of the Igbo tradition and culture.

Igbokwe, who said this in an article titled, ‘Eze Ndigbo title outside Igboland: A needless distraction’, on Sunday, advised the Ohaneze Ndigbo to end the embarrassment caused by the Ndigbo title by issuing a policy paper that compels the Igbo to abide by it.

He said it was unfortunate that politicians outside Igbo land exploit the Eze Ndigbo to their own advantage, especially to win elections.

He said, “A situation where drug kingpins, armed robbers, kidnappers, failed businessmen hide under the Eze Ndigbo title to continue to embarrass us calls for immediate attention and concrete actions. We cannot continue to pretend that all is well when these pretenders sow seeds of discord between our people and the host communities.

“We need to have the courage to do away with this dangerous trend which tends to cause disaffection between us and the host communities across Nigeria. Let us abolish this Eze Ndigbo title outside Igboland for peace to reign.”

It will be recalled that the Deji of Akure, Oba Kole Aladetoyinbo, recently banned the Eze Ndigbo title in Akure after a disagreement with the Eze Ndigbo of Akure, Gregory Iloehike.

According to Igbokwe, the Deji of Akure and other Yoruba rulers see the holders of the Eze Ndigbo title as a threat to their sovereignty due to the way they “carry themselves about with noise and arrogance.”

Igbokwe said most of the Eze Ndigbo title holders were common traders who needed political power to raise their status both at home and outside Igbo land.

He also said some of them were failed businessmen seeking to earn a living and political and economic patronage.

He said, “I suggest that Igbo leaders, especially the Ohaneze Ndigbo, move into action now and stop this nonsense forever. We must produce a paper on it and compel our people to abide by it.

“We must do the needful before it gets out of hand. Our people must care about the feelings of other Nigerians outside Igbo land where they do businesses and must be told in the strongest terms to respect the rules of engagement and rules of business anywhere they are.

“This craze for titles outside Igbo land is making a mockery of our tradition, culture and cherished ideals.

Dear OP, don't know if you will get to read this. If the woman in question is the woman of your dreams as you claim, please go back to her, shift grounds and make it work. 99% of guys out there and in this forum may not agree with this and say it is a stupid thing to do, you're not man enough, you're being controlled, blah blah blah........ My brother, you will be surprised how much authority wives, sisters, brothers, parents, etc wield in the lives of those advising you to be "man" enough. it's easy to advise others and play God. In all honesty, I have had fixed dates for introduction and marriage dashed! Was supposed to be married on my birthday, October 2 this year!!!! My Dad changed his faith and joined my mum in the Catholic Church. Don't make a big deal out of this I beg you in God's name. Shift your ground, make things work with the love of your life, shun all those discouragement. No one can ever Control your home on account of your change of faith. They'll rather respect you more and your wife n children will ever cherish you for the length you went to bring them to life. I'm a living testimony.

Hello everyone,

I find this topic so interesting and I wonder why I didn't come across it when I was planning to have my baby who is about 1yr+4months now. I had her in Westland, Michigan and d cost was around $6,000 though I stayed with my sister for that 3months period. I used Dr Anthony Udo, a Nigerian from AkwaIbom state who has been in the US for over 30years now. He proposed the Hospital (Oakland) and i had to pay upfront ($4500 for Vaginal delivery).

I had some complications on the d-day which could have led to CS but this Dr knew just what to do and thank God my baby came out healthy and cute. I must confess that I ate everything eatable in that hospital after my baby's birth; i ate and drank as if i had never eaten before.

Now, I have a question:

My Visa expires in July and I intend to go visit my sister for like 2weeks this month end, I want to know what to say in case i'm being questioned as regards my last visit which lasted about 3months as against the 2weeks that I told the Entry Clearance Officer. A friend of mine with a similar story was delayed at Abu Dhabi (Preclearance) with series of questions but she was eventually allowed to fly into the US. I'm flying Delta and the POE is Atlanta, I really wish to know how the airport security check is so I can prepare myself well to avoid any unwanted issues. My sister is having a baby and she wants me around.

Thanks people.
