Men like you are why this country is where it is today. I don't even know where to start with this dumbass old age thinking of yours that's not patriarchal but downright selfish,I pity the women in your family i.e if you have any because this is the advice you will give them,to take crap all in the name of marriage

Well, it's a faceless forum so you can insult as you please. I'd have expected you to at least contribute to the conversation intelligently and argue your points with some grace and candour, perhaps you could convince us about your 'selfless' thought process and offer another perspective.

My life is a success and I'm a happily married faithful man. I choose to be that way with pride and grace. My sisters, mom and other women in my family are highly successful and happily married to the glory of God. You can save your pity for the men and women in your life and the pitiable state of your pitiably pitiable bitter soul who cannot make a few sentences online without expressing the state of your family tree.

Sincerely, this warped mentality (my man cheats, I must cheat too. what a man can do, a woman can do better) is the reason why our society especially Southern Nigeria continues to deteriorate massively in the name of being 'educated', 'woke', 'not taking nonsense'. Whether you like it or not, both genders are wired differently. The success of any marriage depends a lot on the maturity of the man and the patience of the woman. I'm not excusing men but this mentality has one and only one outcome, DESTRUCTION of the marriage. The white folks who brought/facilitated this warped mentality have already run down their own societies. They raise feminine men, high rates of divorce, and many more men shying away from marrying altogether. Their women hoe around in their twenties and are left with regrets in their forties, with many taking solace in their cats, dogs and other pets. Their society cannot sustain its own population and their politicians are facilitating immigration at insane levels. Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of others would definitely taste the same cycle of failure. A divorced woman is a money spinning venture (you can research more into their spending habits and the effect of divorce on the black communities in Baltimore, Chicago, etc.) and the children suffer the most.

What more? You divorce your husband for 'cheating' and end up as a side piece to another man in a relationship, most times married. The joke remains on the woman! Those who praise a woman for leaving a loving man whose only downside is cheating (no diseases, no violence and takes great care of his wife and children) are the same people who would quickly fill up her space. These women wont tell you but the truth is that it is only after about four to five relationships after their marriage, that they realize the enormity of the bad decisions that they've made but it's too late. They would then keep posting pictures online, seeking validation from random people to make it seem as though they're happy. If you disagree, it's fine but Jeff Bezos's ex-wife divorced him, remarried one everyday guy (a music or french teacher or so) and guess what? She divorced him again after 2 years. Is she married again now? Oh, you don't need to be married to be happy? Lol.. keep deceiving yourselves. The joke is on you!

This thread is purely travel-related, not professional endeavors. However, the bold part is a problematic approach that causes many people to self-sabotage. Don't look for shortcuts and don't focus on quick gains. Focus on long-term skills and long-term outcomes.

I would recommend you take advantage of the numerous free resources online. If you want to go into the often lucrative field of programming, you can start with freecodecamp.org. It's free, and you'll be issued certificates. You can learn enough to land a Junior Developer job at a small startup.

If you want to go into Data Analysis, you can start with Google's official Data Analytics Certification on Coursera.org
It can take you several months to complete, if you're not very focused. If you go all in, you can do it in 2 months. Coursera is $39.99/month. So $80 for 2 months. You'll be issued a Data Analyst certificate. If you actually learn the skill, and not just breeze through to pass (like many students do), you can apply to Junior Data Analyst job positions.

These things pay a decent enough wage to start out in Tech. There is also cybersecurity and other areas to look into. All the best.

This is the best life advancement thread I've ever seen in NL. May God continue to uplift you and grant all your heart desires Ramalot. I have troubling questions and would most appreciate your advice. Currently have about 10years of Control and Audit experience in the banking sector and I've been so bothered about the direction I should take if my relocation plans materialize. I wouldn't want all my years of experience to be a waste and I'm considering switching to data analysis and cybersecurity. Would certifications like CISA, CRISC or CISSP be worth it? Would it empower me to startup a thriving and viable business much later? Or how best can I go about my switch? Pardon my many questions please. I'll appreciate your kind feedback. Thank you very much.

I know many will come in defense of this man.

But the simple thing is, Muslims wear their hijab everywhere why should they off it because they want to go to school.

Thank you Sir. That is why you have the option of either staying at home or go to Islamic faith based schools. Why should I bend my regulations in my own intellectual property because I want to educate and upgrade your intellect?

His argument is baseless. Will Sango worshipper wear their traditional a market any day anytime? Or will a Christian lady in choir wear the rope outside of the church?

I struggle to see meaning in this. All Christian denominations as well as other religions have several apparels and practices. You cannot claim absolute rights in one breath and then in another breath, deny someone else the freedom to also adorn his apparels when and how he deems best. Life doesn't work that way!

If you want to wear the above(eeku and rope)to school, you're welcome. You'll get tired.

My tiredness and not yours. I wholly support this and encourage other forms of civil non-violent means of airing disapproval of policies that only end up dividing the people while the elite, even in the north do not actually care in reality as evidenced by dress styles of their kids during weddings. Giving such judgement at a time when the nation is reeling from the pains of terror and even when the blood of Christians slaughtered are still being mourned says a lot about our priorities as a nation.

By the way, this is lagos not Abia. This is Nigeria!

I seriously doubt that the government of the day would want to kill Ekweremadu though... My honest opinion

Politics / Re: Obasanjo Is The Most Visible Member Of The Nigerian Mafia – Dele Momodu by wagzyl: 11:55pm On Nov 03, 2018
This truly is where our problems lie as a nation. We don't read. Imagine people insulting Dele without properly trying to understand and reflect deeply on salient facts he exposed that were hitherto known only to elites and very close observers of the Nigeria's socio-political landscape. Those insulting him are merely doing the wishes of the mafia without knowing it.

Truth is Nigeria is governed by this deadly mafia with tentacles in all spheres (be it in the private sector, church, mosque, civil service etc) of the country, who see the country as a small company of their own. If you know, you know... Open your eyes people!!!

I only hope Buhari wins and retire the Mafia for good. I know it's a tall dream because the Mafia will fight him to a standstill not for the benefit of poor ordinary Nigerians (forget the nonsense they say that they are on a rescue mission) but for themselves alone. Atiku or anyone will face the same treatment from the Mafia once they feel insecure or threatened or annoyed over refusal to grant their crazy demands.

The honest truth (whichever side of the divide you are on, be it PDP, APC or even if you are on the fence) is that Nigeria will only get better if and only if this Mafia is destroyed and retired for good.

Aboki99:
Before any ignoramuses insult Islam, let them look these Biblical verses up: Genesis 24:65 and 1 Corriantians 11:6. This is so that they may know Hijab is also Biblical but most xtians lady decide to wilfully violate the Bible's injunction!

I really wonder how some of you people think and more shamefully those who like your comments out of sheer ignorance and sentiments. The first Bible verse you quoted simply stated that Rebecca covered herself with a veil upon asking a servant about Isaac, after which Isaac took her in and married her. Are women not covered with veils till this day whenever there are traditional/church/mosque weddings? How then does this incident become a biblical injunction?

The second Bible verse speaks against men praying with their heads covered and women praying with their heads uncovered. Bros, the Jews have long hair till this day. Historically, Jewish men especially in the city of Corinth attend synagogues and temples with their stylish hats while their women flaunt their long hairs. Men admired women with long hairs while women admired men with stylish hats and this was a major distraction when people assembled in God's house. St. Paul specifically wrote to this Church at Corinth (he wrote to the Churches at Thessalonica, Ephesus and five others too) each containing its own specific message addressing characteristic issues. It admonishes men to remove their hats during prayers while women should cover their heads with a veil. How again is this a biblical injunction directing the use of Hijab? Catholics have been using the veil for seven hundred years before the advent of Islam and no one has forced anything on anyone or made a fuss about it.

So I ask you, are the nurses wedding or praying as indicated in the Bible verses you quoted and how are they injunctions? Reply me with intelligently without insults, let's have a discussion.

Car Talk / Re: What Are The Pros And Cons Of Infiniti FX? by wagzyl: 7:58am On Dec 14, 2017
Firstly get a very very good mechanic to assess the condition of the car as well as the tyres. If it's okay, please go for it. The consequences however are that it's slightly expensive to maintain when compared to other cars especially the tyres and gear oil. Replacement of the four tyres may gulp about 200k while replacement of gear oil may cost roughly 40k but these replacements are not done every year. Tyres may be once in 4/5 years if you are a careful driver while the gear oil is just once in two years. The servicing of engine oil isn't such a biggie, with 7/8k, you should get that done except if you decide to use total synthetic oil. I use a brand of Forte oil (which is very thick - close to synthetic and I religiously sticked to it).

Overall, it's a fantastic car with an appealing appearance. Very rugged, great speed and power, unique and elegant. If you have a good source of income, I'll advise you go for it. People complain about fuel but for me, it's not that important. A Toyota will use let's say 5k fuel for a journey while the FX would require 5,800 fuel for the same distance. For the other qualities of the car that one would enjoy (speed, elegance, uniqueness, etc), is N800 a biggie? I have been using it for over a year and I have absolutely no regrets.
