During the plenary session on Monday, the House overrode the governor's objections and implemented a major amendment to the Rivers State Local Government Law, granting them the authority to extend the tenures of the LGA chairmen. Previously, in March, Governor Fubara had refused to give his consent to the Local Government (Amendment) bill, despite it being passed and forwarded to him by the lawmakers.

However, during Monday's session, the lawmakers arrived at the assembly complex early in the morning, and the topic of discussion was the amendment to the Rivers State Local Government Law.

The bill was presented by the Majority Leader Major Jack, leading to extensive debates among the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. Ultimately, the lawmakers argued in favor of vetoing the governor, and with a two-thirds majority vote, the House agreed to override the governor's objections and passed the bill into law.

This marks the sixth time that the House of Assembly has defied the governor and enacted laws since the commencement of the political battle in the state.

The Anambra Police Command has declared one Inspector Audu Omadefu wanted for murder.

In a notice by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the public were urged to report information about the Inspector to the nearest police station or call designated telephone numbers provided.

The notice reads:
Anambra State Police Command hereby declare AP No. 362178, Inspector Audu Omadefu WANTED for MURDER.

"The Command urges any member of the public who sees the fugitive or has information on his whereabout to report to the nearest Police Station or call the Command Control Room number *07039194332* or the PPRO on *08039334002*

If an instrumentalist or drummer or singer is a full-time staff of the church; and employee of the church; such a person must be paid. It is just like working in a bank. The church is his or her office, so such a person must be paid.

It is wrong to ask for payment when you are a member of a church and still get your source of livelihood elsewhere. You cannot be working in the bank, a company etc, and still tell your pastor to pay you because you are a drummer, instrumentalist, etc. Does it mean you cannot help God's house without being paid?
