Politics › Re: VAT: What States Generated And What They Received In Q1, 2025 by Walai(m): 9:45am On Jun 18, 2025
Calm down, Kogi have not gotten a governor yet I know that very well but the truth remains that the indirect tax and VAT we pay in Kogi on goods and services are recorded for Lagos state where the companies have their headquarters.

kedeojo:
Go and sit down. You people lack visionary leaders. Kogi should have been a tourism delight. You people can't even take advantage of closeness to the nation capital. My LGA share border with kogi, so you can't tell me about the state. All the civilian governors since creation are visionless. Imagine Donald duke was to be kogi governor.

Are you aware if I buy something as simple as MTN recharge card here in Kogi the VAT is recorded at their head office in Lagos ?

EasternActivist:
Completely false.

This shows you don't know how vat revenue works

As a Middle Beltan, I still haven't forgiven my fathers for joining the Fulani led North to fight the Igbo's instead of remaining neutral. That costly mistake is haunting us now.

I think it's Buhari that cancelled that arrangement because of obvious reasons. Before now our special forces in both police, army and DSS were trained in Israel most especially in intelligence gathering and reconnaissance. Now our security forces has been infiltrated and ineffective.

MrMcJay:
Just for the records.
When Abacha was Head of State, his personal bodyguards were trained in Israel.

Sgt. Rogers and others in Abacha strike force were trained in Israel.

Politics › Re: Obi’s Gradual Floating Of Naira Policy Will Not Work - Rotus (Video) by Walai(m): 7:41am On Jun 12, 2025
Obi has been saying it since. During 2023 election, he talked about coffee farming , production and processing factory in Taraba which has a suitable climate for it. Google the amount Kenya and other countries makes from coffee export.
Modern dairy farming alone generates billions for Holland, North has all the resources both human and material to replicate such.
He keeps mentioning China, Bangladesh,Taiwan etc and Nigerians are mocking him out of ignorance, but they forget that there is what is called comparative Economics, you study other countries economy and see how you can replicate something even better using what you have.
Obi have said all is needed to be said.
All you need is a leadership with the drive to invest in these that's all.

emkz:
I know what Nigeria can manufacture. Apart from textiles, we can manufacture ready-to-wear clothing like adire in the southwest. Bags too, shoes. Our people in Aba and Nnewi can fabricate anything. We can revamp our steel mills and produce steel and rods which can be exported. We can manufacture perfumes, furniture and soaps. We can also set up several agro-processing factories for example, production and export of cashew nuts, fruit juices, etc.

My final paragraph in the post you referenced was to charge Obi of he even knew what he was talking about. I needed specifics from him.

Who complained? I am 100% Obidient but I never complained. There's nothing wrong grooming your children for politics as a politician. George Bush did it, Donald Trump and other world class politicians.

Why did you spoil this beautiful well thought out comment with the last paragraph?
I'm so shocked and disappointed that you are asking what Nigeria should manufacture.
Reviving the textile mills around Kaduna and Kano economic corridor alone will save Nigeria billions of dollars we spend importing textiles.
Are you aware Adams Oshiomole was a textile mill worker?

emkz:
Obi is economically limited. He said he'd do it in an organized manner by ramping up production of agriculture, manufacturing and everything.

Actually, the first thing is to tackle insecurity and modernize agricultural approaches. There was a time food went to waste in Benue due to lack of storage facilities. Also, smooth road network and rail are needed to move food from production belts to consumption areas. For now, cargo airports for agro-produce ought to be the in-thing.

On the issue of manufacturing, let Obi explain what he expects Nigeria to manufacture. He can't be throwing words around like a school boy. He needs to show maturity in his thinking.

Thought you said Peter Obi won't win one local government back in 2023? The new mantra now is he won't win same number of votes in 2027
Just tell your agbado druggie lord to conduct free and fair election and leave Nigerians to decide.

hotseat:
When the Obi tsunami swept across the country, especially amongst the young voters/supporters, it had a touch of nationality devoid of ethnicity or geographical bias.

Sooner than later, it metamorphosed into an "Igbo thing" thereby alienating non-Igbos in the quest to wrest power from the centre.

It became an "us versus them" affair.

Therein lies the very big mistake!

If PO gets to contest again by 2027, One strongly doubt if he would be able to get the number of votes he had in the 2023 presidential election.

Obidients: change your mindset!

Dey fit rob you in front of military check point make army dey look you if they are on stand down orders. Na the CO's you suppose dey blame. Some CO self no wan loose boys sake of the high grade military weapons the bandits carry. All in all, the Nigerian army is heavily compromised and infiltrated.

Dogalmighty17:
I've said this several times. The Fulani are doing this with the full backing of the army. There are two Nigerian army military check points right before naka town. And yet these attacks go on unchallenged. All the soldiers there do is collect money from drivers.

If the indigenes arm themselves, the same army will cease those weapons from them. Meanwhile, the Fulani are allowed to operate unchallenged.

South East has been leading in education and business per capita in Nigeria no doubt about that.
South West leads in media and the corporate/banking sector while the North leads in Agriculture and politics. If only we will accept this facts and harness our strengths.
Fix the Igbo man in the Education and Economy sector, fix the Yoruba man in the media and corporate communications sector and fix the Hausa/Fulani man in the Security/Agricultural sector and watch Nigeria transform over night.

It's so unfortunate that Nigerians have turned wolves. No more regard for humanity. From the comments up there, it's so sad that because of politics and tribalism, people have lost the little humanity remaining in them, the only thing that separates us from cows and goats
