set up mobile hotspot on another phone...connect your BB to it and start the update

The summary of my response to you is that the problem is not with your phone but from the pressure on the network.

The best thing you can hope for is that you're in a location with good coverage

siegfried99: @walcolm, I have been able to resolve that issue.. by inserting another network sim on the phone... since then everything back to normal

for the last year 18months, BB10 has enabled blackberry users get real value for the money they pay for data in ways the old BBs can only fantasize about...blowing through 3gb of data in a few days is not impossible

BB10 devices load pages with heavy graphics and flash content , run through facebook pictures and videos like a champ , make VOIP calls and video calls without batting an eyelid ...makes light of youtube videos and stream audio & radio stations even when you're sleeping

all that awesomeness can take a lot of toll on any network..airtel caved in a long time ago and glo is beginning to feel the pressure. just keep praying for them

The same OS I used to load my own fone seems not to be working on this crazy fone.

After loading the .exe the fone is refusing to come up. And when I connect it with bb link, it keeps telling me 'device setup incomplete'

you might need to update to a 10.2 if 10.3 is not installing on a 10.1....how come you're still on 10.1 OS?

its not a problem...just setup a mobile hotspot on another smartphone or connect to a wifi network

G definitely means GPRS....those who have been around long enough will still remember when the GSM networks started adding packet data to their network and implemented the GPRS/WAP service.

its the second slowest form of data speed...just slightly better than WAP data

You touch and hold the link to the file you want to download, some icons will pop out from the right side of the screen. One of them allows you to save the file

there's a file manager app on the phone...you can use it to move things around as you wish

ikbtn: Alright den, thanks for d response, I kinda disagree wit u about Android OS not being able to install apps on memory card anymore, I have an android as well running a 4.2.2 jelly bean and many of my games and apps are installed on d memory card.

as far as i know, extra data (heavy graphics) that would eat up the internal memory are saved to the sd card to reduce occurrence of out-of-memory issues...that way you can install a higher number of large apps and games without running out of internal memory

in the past, games can be installed to run entirely from the SD card but that is no longer the case

I read every word you wrote and sincerely I didn't think your statement was disrespectful, eljaye probably took it personal. We are respectable people here and try as much as possible to be civil. Eljaye if you've been following this thread like you said, then you'd know we don't stand for such and we reprimand anyone who tries to insult people here. We are BB10 lovers, we are not in quote professionals, but we learn from our experiences and try to pass it on here. If no one answered your questions, then we probably missed it, all you had to do was quote yourself again. This is the only thread I spend much time on, but I still miss some post. From your reply to walcom's earlier statement, it did sound like you were beginning to throw tantrums..... no offence meant.

I'd really like for us to put this behind and forget it ever came up.

one of the grounding virtue of this thread is that people who come here will be treated and also be required to treat everyone on the thread with respect..everyone here can bear witness to how i have aggressively pursued that agenda against every troll that has tried to turn our thread into an average nairaland thread where anonymity is used as excuse for misbehaviour...a good number of folks here have also joined me over time in maintaining decorum and keeping the thread as helpful, welcoming and warm as possible

you can't run apps from the memory card even android OS doesnt allow apps to run from the media card anymore since Jelly bean OS

you can keep a copy of the apk file on a media card for future reinstalls but you cant run the app from there

beside the text box for typing URL, there's a back arrow...touch it and hold and a list of previous pages you have view will show up...tap the page you want to view

looks like Glo is having network issues...patience is the solution.

someone mentioned they changed the apn to gloflat or glosecure then changed back to the default apn and it started working out better again

Welcome to BB10....Just go to BlackBerry World from your phone and download apps that catch your fancy

Social Media apps, Instant messaging apps, games etc

if there are any specific apps you liked from your old phone, look for the BB10 equivalent

just place your finger on the text you want to copy, come icons (copy, paste, select all etc) will pop up and two blue blobs also show up allowing you to drag over the text you want to highlight

you might need to unlock the device first. the most cost effective bis currently is glo complete month package....1k gets you 3gb of bis data to blow through in 30days

ojochidem: I subscribed for the Glo BlackBerry Absolute Plan. It worked for like 10mins and stopped. Glo CC said it's the wrong plan am using that I should have subscribed for their BB10 plans.

well, you have gone to report yourself nah OYO.

since you're a newbie, i guess this is your first BIS sub on glo. you will need to wait for sometime for a first time glo bis sub to kick in on a BB10 device. what you used for the few mins was the free MB due to your last recharge.

if its a new device, return it to the store immediately and get a replacement

mekstaniac: I was expecting something bigger. Something almost 2gb in size

if at the time you started download, the download size says 2gb and the file you have downloaded is only 500mb, that means something happened to the download process that caused it to abort.

if the file size you have is smaller than what it should have been then you wont be able to use it
