mxxpunkxx1: Actually, its a combination of both your uploads and your downloads ( Sent and received)Did you check the question that was asked and I responded to? You should take time to understand stuff before you jump all over the place |
Set up mobile hotspot on another phone and connect your q10 to do the update |
shadelek: Pls help me make this decision of mine oo. I wish to get this bb q5 coz of the good reviews frm d users but at d same time, I luv playing games on my mobile as well and I am nt sure whether this Q5 is good for gamers. Should I go for this q5 or go for android phone? ThanksThe fact that you're even considering a Q5 means you're not a hardcore gamer. You just want a device that can run your games that you have been playing on other platforms All the BlackBerry 10 devices handle games very well but like someone has mentioned a larger screen makes games more enjoyable so you should consider the z10/z3 or z30 depending on your budget. If there's any particular game you can't find on the BlackBerry World, just install the android version directly on your BlackBerry 10 device and you should be fine |

Curve? Upgrade to a BlackBerry 10 device and that should solve the speed problem |

Pls how do I go about it i.e save d song. Pls help me o. Thank u all.Go to page 5 of this thread to learn how to download stuff |
If those photos are on your microSD card then you can use file recovery software to get them back If they were on the internal storage and you have Dropbox, box.net, Microsoft one drive setup to back up your pictures then you can get them back from those cloud storage services otherwise they're gone for good |
tziz:Miracast and DLNA means you connect your TV and BlackBerry to the same wireless network and you can share data from your phone to your TV. No adapter or wires required If your TV is old school and cannot connect to a wifi network but can connect via network cable to a router then you're still in luck anything less than that then you need a new TV Your Z3 was born ready for wireless streaming |
BlackBerry passport will officially be available in Nigeria before the end of the year!!!! |
eightsin: How can I update my z10 using my phone networks. It keeps saying the size is off the downloading limit that I should use wifi. But d size us just a little over 100. Please help.from Blackberry World, swipe down from the top and go to settings... |
Chuksworld: Good morning my Oga's here. In my Q5 BlackBerry hub, I do see something like PIN Message but I haven't received any pin message oh. Please someone should explain that to mepin messaging on BB is the grandfather of the world renowned BBM that we all now know and love...with PIN messaging, you can send a message to another BB user's PIN without having to add them to your BBM PIN messaging is only between BB devices that is why in my signature, i tell people who want to contact me directly to send me a pin message...rather than BBM request |
text bbcmonth or comonth to 777..make sure you have 1k on the phone. if this is your first BIS subscription on glo, give it time for the BIS to kick in you dont need to set apn on glo |
it might just be a network glitch....keep the money for renewal on your line so that the plan can be renewed automatically once you run out of data |
mckemsoc: Please guys, am trying to top up my Glo BBCMONTH but it's showing medo you have an active data plan? if you do, find out how to terminate that plan so you can free your line for another type of plan |
mxxpunkxx1: I wrote out "end of support" for those who would misconstrue your statement to think as of 6mths ago, the Z10 became dead!does that mean you think the folks here are dumb and they wont know the difference between end of production and end of support? and why would anyone think BlackBerry is going to stop supporting z10 when BBs running on legacy BBOS are still being actively supported? |
@punk, you have major issues that you need to deal with on your own and you're not going to turn this thread to another useless nairaland thread where people are unable to derive value because of the limitless crap being posted just wondering out loud...why would a company manufacture a phone they had to write off $1bn worth of inventory of that phone at the end of last business year? where did 'end of support' show up in anything i have posted? |
harrysterol: one tin am yet to understand, do u mean some of those hardware issues could not be resolved in a newer z10? Like is all the z10 in the market all produced at thesame time? Are the no newer z10 to address some of those impending issues?there are no new Z10 being produced...BlackBerry stopped the production of Z10 more than 6months ago |
DealMogul: You have simply decided on a 'budget' device as opposed to a 'premium' one. I noticed you didn't highlight the hardware differences: casing, design and materials, audio placement and quality...if you read some of my earlier submission on this z10/z3 comparison, i have always placed my main emphasis for choosing Z3 over Z10 on the fact that the Z10 is suffering from the pioneer's disadvantage...BlackBerry changed their development course and tried something new...i have not implied that the Z3 has better specs than the z10 because it does not...but the newer hardware, application of lesson learnt from previous mistakes all come into the build of the Z3 no other BB10 suffers from battery issues as the Z10. Z10 still has the highest screen resolution of all the BB10 devices until yesterday when the passport was released. the lower resolution on the Z3 does not make a significant impact on the everyday user. all the BB10 devices are made with top quality material and they all feel great in the hand...you only have to hold the Z30 or Z3 once to understand what i mean the fact that the Z3 has all the mistakes made in Z10 corrected when it was made means that just basing the choice on specs alone will mislead the average BB user who just wants a device that works and gives them no issues i used the Z10 and loved it. i was prepared to handle all the challenges that it brought and i understood that those are normal teething problems associated with a new platform and new device.. most people buying blackberry today are not in that mind space and will panic and get worried when the Z10 throws up its peculiar challenges at them and i want to avoid that because the better the experience people get from using a BB10 device the better they will feel about their choice of the Platform over android and iOS so my grouse with @punk is that he's hung up on specs and trying to shove that mindset down the throat of the thread and i cannot stand for that...i want the average user who comes to this thread because they want a great mobile experience to find the right guidance here by tapping from actual use case experiences of others. the hardware specs are a given and that information is freely available but the actual performance depends on how people use their devices and the result can vary even when people are using the exact same device spec |
mxxpunkxx1: Stop throwing tantrums . . it's a faceless forum for crying out loudto you, it might seem to be a faceless forum. to me and to a large number of the people who frequent this thread and are as heavily invested and interested in keeping this thread on the level we have maintained going on two years, it is NOT a faceless forum!!! which is why we do all we can to keep conversations here; civil and respectful even when we disagree. like i said in a previous clarification post, people here are from all sorts of places and background. nobody knows it all or has a monopoly of anything. if you're from a place where making comments like these ... mxxpunkxx1: Common sense shoulda told you to turn off your data service during they day.implying someone lacks common sense mxxpunkxx1: You don't have to lie on a public forum to justify yourself. . . .. . . . .and u r here whining . . .like someone stole your candy !calling someone a liar and a whiner is acceptable and considered endearment gestures does not mean everyone else should condone them or consider them acceptable. on this thread, we make a conscious effort to keep all exchanges as cordial, civil and respectful as possible. there are occasional slips here and there but then we are all human. if you choose to not put in the effort to moderate your posts, then you have chosen to not be a part of this thread FYI: i don't throw tantrums...if i need to place a well targeted kick up someone's rear for insulting anyone on this thread, i go ahead and do it |
siegfried99: Where is walcolm?i have already started making arrangements ![]() |
mxxpunkxx1: Dude, you just shot yaself in the leg with your head-to-head analysis. And I will say you lack a lot of unsavoury things that I don't want printed on this thread If you're incapable of articulating intelligently without resorting to insults, you should leave this thread |
BlackBerry Passport: The Design Story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXH5UDFMHfE |
mxxpunkxx1: But I already did compare the Z3 to the Z10focusing specifically on the Z10/Z3...as of today, i will take the Z3 over Z10 for the reasons i have already itemized in previous posts...there's nothing i can do on the Z10 that i can't do on the Z3...newer more efficient hardware make up for the drop in spec at least for the older Dual Core 1.5GHz processor vs newer more efficient Dual Core 1.2GHz processor - I'll take the 1.2GHZ 2GB RAM vs 1.5GB RAM - Not a big issue...as the BB10 OS becomes more efficient, the impact reduces 16GB device storage vs 8GB device storage - MicroSD solves that problem No Miracast vs Miracast - I'll take Miracast No FM radio vs FM radio - I'll take FM radio HDMI out vs No HDMI out - Miracast solves the problem NFC vs No NFC - i seldom use NFC currently but now that apple has jumped in there would be more opportunities to use NFC on all platforms |
mxxpunkxx1: You're failing! A 2012 edition of the macbook pro; murders even the 2014 version of any Acer laptop . . So age is of no importance here, given then fact that some phones manufactured in 2012 have better specs and even better scores than some 2014 phones. With that being said, I'd rather have better camera and better RAM and a crispier display; than better GPU or CPU . .when you compare apples with oranges, you're bound to go wrong if you're really a software analyst, then you won't compare a 2012 macbook to 2014 acer laptop...you would be comparing apple products with apple products to buttress your point because we are talking BB manufactured devices in the Z10/Z3 comparison |
BluePearls: The Z3 is like a beautiful girl with bad attitude.. although she can be tamedi didnt notice any bad attitude in the short period i dated the Z3...i think the Z3 is more of a beautiful girl with a good attitude despite the drummed down spec compared to the other BB10 devices |
Kash007: The 229 ppi on a 5" compared to a 329 ppi on 3.1" warranted this line of questioning. That said, I will go with your layman answer.good choice ![]() |
Kash007: Here, I was referring to its vibrancy and sharpness. Do contents look pixelated?guy, we are talking blackberry here o not tecno and other chinese brands...have you seen any bb with pixelated graphics before? how would you expect a device using a quadcore graphics processor to give you pixelated graphics? lay man's answer to your question...NO CONTENTS ARE NOT PIXELATED |
mxxpunkxx1: Specs don't lie brov , except in adulterated versions !!!the problem with relying on specs only is that you will miss the bigger picture all the specs you have highlighted are correct but you failed to factor in the bigger screen size, bigger battery, newer chipset (CPU & GPU) in the Z3. you also need to recognize that the Z10 was manufactured almost two years ago while the Z3 is less than 6months old |
i will definitely recommend it over the Q5...Q5 has a great battery and its a really good device but the screen and battery are no where near what you get on the Z3 |
Kash007: How is the Z3 screen display? Is it nearly as crisp as the z10?depends on how you define crisp...the resolution is more than good enough for a 5' display |
lordmayor4: See what I mean?remove your media card from the phone and copy out your music/video/pictures/docs to a computer...verify that the files are not corrupt by trying them from a pc.... once you're sure all your files are safely on a pc and not corrupt, reformat the card and put a few files on it. put it back in the phone and see if the phone is able to handle them properly |
frisby: Anyone used both z10 n z3? Which is better pls? Forget spec sheet now, I mean real life usage? Which offers more convenience and better user experience?i have used all the Z series...if you cannot afford the Z30, do the Z3 |
