ojochidem: @Walcolm, my question is, will I still have access to full email and streaming service as I have on my always max?
the answer to both questions is yes!!!! BB10 devices do not limit you in any way...GLO Complete BIS also doesnt limit you in any way...whatever you download gets charged to your data...if you burn your 3GB of data in two days, all you have to do is subscribe again and you're good to go

mekstaniac: Guys I downloaded 10.3 for Q10. After extracting the zip file, I'm getting a file of abt 537mb is dat normal?
Were you expecting something bigger or smaller? Why don't you install and see if it works

ojochidem: Hello Guys, I need your candid advice. I am currently using Glo Always max on my Q5 and other devices. Am considering subscribing to Glo BIS Absolute Plan. I make use of about 4 Third Party emails.
I don't see the question in your post
PhonesRe: Blackberry 10 Devices Home: Z10, Q10 Etc by walcolm(op): 7:12am On Sep 13, 2014
Machini: Hello ppl. Just got a Q5. Annoying thing is one can't resume downloads on d native browser. Have searched for opera and uc browser on BlackBerry world but it says 'not available for this device'. Pls I need help on other good browsers I can use to download large files. Thanks.
This post would have read better if you had asked if the BlackBerry 10 browser could resume downloads rather than making a statement and going off on your search for other 'good' browsers

BlackBerry 10 browser has outperformed any other mobile browser out there and resumes download with absolutely no problem

Good luck with your search though

BluePearls: Did you know, rather than pound on the backspace key to delete words, you can simply swipe from right to left on your keyboard, to delete words faster. Only works on soon to be released Passport & all full touch devices. it's been present since 10.2 OS.
you're right on the first statement but you're wrong on everything else in your post

SWIPING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT when you want to delete has always been a feature of BB10

if you SWIPE with ONE finger, you delete ONE word
if you SWIPE with TWO fingers, you delete TWO WORDS
More than three fingers and you can delete a whole sentence

softtouch2: This BB Assistant is very accurate and understands any question asked, only what is needed is to make her response more faster.
speed of the response is a function of your network

scarr: that's how MTN bb10 plan rolls. Even after u exhaust ur data ull still be able to use all features of BBM
actually that's how all BB10 data plan on all networks roll....they did it to compensate those who buy their expensive BB10 data plan...for as long as you're within your validity period, your BBM doesn't stop working even if you don't have data

BluePearls: Guys here's a link to download Nokia appstore
It works very well with BB10 devices.

Did you know you can share apps via bluetooth and receive at the same time? BB10 phones are the first phones I know that can achieve that feat (correct me if I'm wrong) grin
describe a bit more what you mean by sharing app via bluetooth....my understanding of the concept is that when you share an app via Bluetooth, BB World opens for the receiver to download their own copy of the app....NOT that you transfer your copy of the app the way you would transfer a picture or video clip

confirm?

Anomnity: Please how do you successfully install java apps like opera mini.jar,ucbrowser.jar etc in your Blackberry 10 phones.I have a lot of java apps I value much and I can't install them on my Blackberry Q5.

I checked the Q5 specs and it supports Java MIDP 2.1 as against MIDP 2.0 which my apps are based. But I expected that MIDP 2.0 apps should also instal in MIDP 2.1 devices. Please kindly assist if you are conversant with these stuffs. Thanks in advance.
BlackBerry 10 allows you to install android apks not jar files...this new BlackBerry doesn't play little leagues anymore

Look for the BlackBerry 10 or android equivalent of your java apps and install them

dandollar1: I want to use a new blackberry ID for my new phone, but will like to change to the blackberry ID I have been using in my oS7 device later on.
Will I be able to switch ID after a security wipe? Or I might not be able to change?
Each BlackBerry ID is unique and so long as you know your ID and password, you can always attach your BlackBerry to the ID

sholad11: Same as mine it has no option for 4G alone & I just upgraded my OS to 10.2.1.3014
What do you need the 4G alone option for...4G Is a relatively new technology that networks are still deploying. not sure you can find any service providers anywhere in the world with 100% 4G coverage so having 4G/3G/2G allows your phone to move seamlessly across service deployment in your provider's coverage area

Akell: I got one a week ago. It has the 4G option. STA100-2
Would have sent a screen shot, but don't know how to go about that. I'm on OS 10.2.1.2102
To take a screen shot just press the volume +/- at the same time

softtouch2: 4G is showing on 10.3.0.1154 under Mobile Network setting, but i don't think 4G service is available to display it.
Cos I have never see any 4G signal
The 4G you see simply means your phone can work on a 4G enabled network. If your network has not deployed 4G you won't see beyond the capacity of your network

DealMogul: BBM has always had geo-location. I think he means to ask about the new Glympse-integration feature in this update where one can share your location with another...something like 4sq
Glympse has been around for more than 6months on all the platforms so I doubt if that's what they're referring to

Looks like some people are only just noticing that bbm has geolocation

XketchDesigns: If the official 10.3 OS is going to be released this month, then what is the point in downloading 1.3gb worth if beta OS and when the official one comes out still download the same amount of data again?? Seems pointless and a waste to me, better just to wait.

Besides apart from ascetics and little interface changes, I don't see the much difference and what the fuzz is about on the 10.3.
yes you're correct 10.3 will be officially released this month but its going to be pre-installed on the new devices BlackBerry will release this month and it is not going to be available for existing BB10 devices....later in the year (maybe next month?), 10.3.1 will be released for all devices

if you install the leaked version, when the official 10.3.1 is released, you MIGHT not need to download the same large file again, it will mostly be an incremental upgrade

OmoNwa: I heard the new BBM upgrade now has geolocation feature. Abeg how can one access ds feature and control?
Bbm has always had geolocation...even from bbos days...

Why are some people making a big deal out of it... saw a thread talking about geolocation on bbm and was just wondering why geolocation was a major talking point
