Kudos to Prof Zulum, I just recollect the current Zamfara governor that was governing his state for almost 1 year or over from Abuja cos of bandits. The bandits put the fear of devil in the mind of the governor and he ran out of his state like donkey. The bandits killed and kidnapped people of the various communities in the state for long and still happening, they were also mining raw gold and taking it out of Zamfara to Dubai etc....it's was so sophisticatedly done even still on going till now....Kudos to Zulum....an exceptional governor... |

One OLODO just said Samuel Ajayi Crowther was not a Yoruba Man. Real OLODO ........ rch Samuel Ajayi Crowther Language Download PDF Watch Edit Samuel Ajayi Crowther (c. 1809–31 December 1891), was a Yoruba linguist and the first African Anglican bishop in Nigeria. Born in Osoogun (in what is in Lanlate, Oyo State, Nigeria), he and his family were captured by Fulani slave raiders when he was about twelve years old. The Most Reverend Samuel Ajayi Crowther D.D. The liberated peoples were resettled in Sierra Leone. In Sierra Leone, Ajayi adopted an English name of Samuel Crowther, and began his education in English. He adopted Christianity and also identified with Sierra Leone's then ascendant Krio ethnic group. He studied languages and was ordained as a minister in England, where he later received a doctoral degree from Oxford University. He prepared a Yoruba grammar and translation of the Anglican Book of Common Prayer into Yoruba, also working on a Yoruba version of the Bible, as well as other language projects. Biography Edit A grandson of King Abiodun,[2] through his mother, Afala, Ajayi was around 12 years old when he and his family were captured, along with his entire village, by Fulani slave raiders in March of 1821 and sold to Portuguese slave traders. His mother, Afala (who was later baptized with the name Hannah), toddler brother, and other family members were among the captives. His father, Ayemi, was most likely killed in the raid of his village or shortly afterwards. The British had outlawed the Atlantic slave trade in the early 19th century and used their navy to patrol the coast of Africa. Before the slave ship left port for the Americas (where Spain and Portugal still permitted the International slave in their colonies, the British empire and the United States still allowed slavery but had banned the trans-Atlantic importantion of slaves), it was boarded by crew from a British Royal Navy ship under the command of Captain Henry Leeke. They freed the captives, and took Ajayi and his family to Freetown, Sierra Leone, where they were resettled by local authorities.[3] While in Sierra Leone, Crowther was cared for by the Anglican Church Missionary Society (CMS) and was taught English. He converted to Christianity. On 11 December 1825 he was baptized. He named himself after Samuel Crowther, vicar of Christ Church, Newgate, London, and one of the pioneers of the CMS.[1] Ajayi was baptized by John Raban. In Niger Territory, 1888 While in Freetown, Crowther became interested in languages. In 1826 he was taken to England to attend the school of St Mary's Church in Islington, which had established a connection with free Africans in the 18th century. He returned to Freetown in 1827. He was the first student admitted to the newly opened Fourah Bay College,[4] an Anglican missionary school. Because of his interest in language, he studied Latin and Greek of the classical curriculum, but also Temne of West Africa. After completing his studies, Crowther began teaching at the school.[citation needed] Marriage and family Mission Merits Death, burial, exhumation, and reburial Notes References Further reading External links Last edited 5 days ago by Lowkeysam RELATED ARTICLES James Johnson (minister) prominent clergyman and member of Nigeria's Legislative Council Anglican Province of Lagos Dandeson Crowther Archdeacon of the Niger Wikipedia Content is available under CC BY-SA 3.0 unless otherwise noted. You are very right. This ain't revolution but an awake, a reminder that we deserve a better living. However, I know that the convener of Revolution now had initially throughout and planned towards revolution but no revolution can happen without the full solidarity and support of the large populace which hasn't always been with Nigerians. Nigerians love life and always endure sufferings. Could have been Revolution but a premature revolution cos no enough backbone to hold on and frustrate the bad government to step down or come to their senses.. quote author=Davefed post=92492007]Revolution is not peaceful protest there's a lot of differences. This act is not Revolution, so putting the term Revolution shows they don't know what they want but political engineered action. Revolution call for violence, killing and destruction and forcefully change of govt and the Revolutionarie are willing to die for the course. I wonder how you want revolution want the govt to treat you right. the moment you call for Revolution no government no matter how democratical can sit down and do nothing even United State govt that is known as the home of democracy can never tolerate any form of Revolution. Nigerians are not ready to sacrifice which is bed of Revolution. Till the day we are willing to die that's when Revolution can be actualize. Dalu nu.[/quote] |

You probably feel she's a burden on you. My candid advise. I noted as you said that she's been very helpful in your laundry work especially when you ain't available. You feed and transport her to and fro...you also pay her monthly salary for now. Again, she's is your girlfriend whom I feel you love cos of the closeness you have accorded her. My brother, forget the facts that are parents are alive and not performing their responsibility, that's common nowadays. You never mentioned that she's a cheat or has a queer attitude other than the dependency. My suggestion my brother, call her and discuss with her which I know she would appreciate very well. Stop the salary for now to be able to buy her another phone....tell her you will keep her salary for her till big enough to buy her another phone while you pay her trans and feeding as usual. If a month salary is enough to buy her a phone, good and if not two months wouldn't be bad....between us and to be sincerely, downloaded medical books are much cheaper and very current than hardcopies...she's really a good lady to do that .....don't feel stress up my brother, you are a good man and I think you have a good lady by your side, just guide her, tame her and make her an enigma. She's has the head to read books unlike some stupid slayers and baby mamas....forget everyother bad advises and stick with your lady in this unfortunate period of her life....this is the time to make her yours and plan her life for her very well since seems she sees you as her mother, father, lover and dependent.... Do this and you will be good. Don't loose your woman for anything.....take care... |

Some tribal bigots here like one Helius or Hell Fire Boy..... Humane a little, have some sense of humanity in your bigotry and stupid life for once. We know there is more to the death of Arotile than what we are getting presently.... Be also informed that Yorubas are spread all over the geopolitical areas of Nigeria. They were unfortunately cut out to all the geopolitical areas during the unfavourable division at the time the military coupists were ruling. The Six Yoruba states aren't the only area inhabited by Yorubas. The noninclusive Yoruba states are Kwara, Kogi, .....some Yoruba communities are also cut off such as Yorubas in Delta State, Edo State.... Yorubas have branches in the north, East and South unlike other ethnic groups.... Justice must be done in the killing of Arotile.....no shoddy burial please.... |

To get the authenticity of these stupid rants by JACKSON UDE. All you need to do is to check his Facebook page and you will find a dirty ugly hustler that was licking the anus of Goodluck Jonathan some years ago. He's not even somebody we should reckon with, he's just a an hustler struggling to make a living in US with his young wife and daughter. He needs people to give him attention badly and doesn't care how it comes.....hitting charges on him doesn't even make sense cos it's like beating a dead horse....please disregard this idiots my nairalanders. However, I advise VPs family too to slow down in showcasing affluent cos it will definitely be misconstrued even though we know VP was a wealthy man before attaining that VP role and not hungry dogs like so many other Nigeria leaders....am not a fan of VP or Nigeria leaders but I search the truth and say it out loud....Nigeria leaders are thieves but some of hustler and jobless guy like Jackson Ode will fight tooth and nail to find shits to eat coming from the anus of any willing politicians... |
