I show only my Driver's licenece,Insurance, Vehicle license and proof of ownership (though ploce publication said it's not required) and of cousre the tinted permit. On two or three occasions when I was asked for some other papers, I presented their Publication to them.

Better you get the permit to avoid delay and unneccessary embarrassment. Though permit for tinted is supposed to be free but you can trust our police.

Mine is factory tinted too. Since I knew it is supposed to be freee after applying i thought coughing out 35K/40k (as I ma warri based) is too much. I approached a police guy at Ibadan when I visited my folks and I did it for N10K.

I have driven several times (since april when I did it) from Ibadan-warri and to lagos. Police have checked my permit and no wahala.

I believe doing any police stuff is cheaper in civil service state. I apologise to all Ibadan people. You guys are the pacesetters.

I used to have '99 model of the maxima (maxima Qx 24v) later migrated to the '01 model which I sold late last year.

Very rugged car but maintenance na wahala as our mechanics doen't know the technic behind it.

There was time one of my fans stopped and there was overheating. Just to change gasket was hell. After the change car started smoking. Had to replace engine at N130,000k. I know two people that suffered same problem becos we met at the same mech. workshop.

The car is ok right from the sound system to AC which is Ice cold but maintenance is the problem. I was madly in love with this car too but had to sell when it goes to workshop triple the time my other cars do.

I am not used to VW but I am good in maintenance of any car as I have used V6 engines(2001 Nissan maximaQX 3.0) before so I think I can cope. If I uderstand you well you are recommending 2.0 instead of the 1.8?

Battery of course has been changed. Does toyota make battery? I am not sure ur new SUV battery will last forever too

Even though it is recommended for timing belt to be changed after some time I haven't changed mine. Believe it or not.
Water pump has not ben chaged either
Fan belt has been changed once.
original alternator is still there.
Kickstarter still intact

I don't intend to argue here but will stand firm on what I say.

Bought a toyota carina E too in 2003 from a collegue travelling out of the country. Mileage then was 150,000

mileage now 287,256. still have the original engine. car still travelling to and from Ife and Warri every two weeks as my wife is running a PHD course at Ife.

This car has never failed to start once. I mean slot in the key and start he car, it will answer one time. Efficient and faithful car.

Of course brake pads and front Shocks have been changed but other things remain intact. It carries a 3S engine.

I drive 2002 honda CRV. I have not even checked the Manufacturer suggetted fuel I should use but I guess it should be unleaded. My tank is 58litres and engine is 2.4litre.
