Maybe I'm missing something but I have tried many times unsuccessfully to place time based orders through their mandate button and none has been successfully placed to the order screen during market time. Feature is disabled by MorganCapital |

yMcy56: Don't really know.......but can only wish them all the best. Maybe they could have spoken with the Registrar to know the way out of it sha.
My concern is that, TITAN plans to own 100% of UBN shares. They bought all the majority shareholders out, so why would a tashere minority holder wants to keep holding unto it? What if they end up forfeiting those shares? Did you consider such option as well?? Did you read thru the MTO offer document??
CC: Obagadaffi I did read the MTO offer document and the application form. I also visited CardinalStone registrar Office at Sabo last two weeks. Avoid assuming people are incompetent in financial matters and investments. |

yMcy56: Did you ask if they're re-listing on NASDAQ? Pls find out.....and if not, I'll advice you sell to Titan.. Or how do you plan to sell in future if they're not re-listing or even paying better dividends?
In fact, to me, my advice is fill the form and "Sell" to Titan. This kind of hope of holding on to it has its inherent risks. Overall decision is yours sir. Some people are stuck with their shares and unable to participate in the MTO (I don't want to go into details on a public forum). You know this right? |

A question for everyone on this thread. What's your opinion on companies soliciting investments from the public where most of the investment funds will be used to refinance debt? What is the upside for the retail investor who subscribes for this investment in this situation? |

yMcy56: You also have a point. One of the reasons I mentioned ZENITH and/or GTCO too. These ones may not be aggressive in growth but consistency in payment of Dividend is it for me, especially for the long term duration mentioned. They've been increasing the dividend payout overtime too......cos I did some checks on both not too long ago.
I recently assisted a close relative in downloading, filling and submitting Union Bank form for Mandatory Take-over and I could easily relate to the example you sited. The UBN shares were purchased at around N29/per share or thereabout..... Has been there for more than 20yrs, bought at different prices (with one IPO in 1995 or so....... * How many times did UBN pay Dividends within those years? Doubt if it's up to 5 times...... * Worst part, the buyer offered to buy the share over @ paltry N7 in 2022!!
So investing in some stocks for long term needs serious due dilligence and experts advice before you dabble into it. Long term is different from short term or Jijo-ing.
One good thing now though, is the digital era, whereby one can easily monitor and track his investments, compared to the old analogue period whereby all activities reside solely with the broker and brokerage firms. No more trading in "darkness", except for those who chose to......or are ignorant. Union Bank, transcorp and many other securities have a bad track record of returning money to their shareholders. In fact, they are shareholders unfriendly Never invest in a company that is not shareholder friendly. Signs include Doesn't pay dividends Heavy dilution every year |

Phlinx: Pls be careful how you handle your money. Putting money in the NSE and holding the mentality that you are investing is a big mistake. I am not saying you cannot get ROI make money on your 10m I am simply saying you should not, must not approach NSE thinking you are investing.
If you want to put your money in something and go away for ten years, maybe you can look to NASDAQ and buy shares of a viable technology company this is far better than the NSE. However, this too IS NOT AN INVESTMENT! What gibberish nonsense is this? |

ositadima1: Yeah, looks like it, but then d extra shares are going to dilute EPS, it is up to d market what it will do with dat piece of info.
Based on my math assuming constant EPS:
Original EPS = EPS After EPS = EPS/1.25
Change = [(EPS/1.25) - EPS]/EPS = -0.2
EPS drops by 20% Thanks |

emmasoft: If you already have a CHN from a broker and you wish to have the same CHN with another broker, indicate your CHN number while completing the account opening form for any of the new brokers you are engaging.
You cannot have the same cscs number with more than one broker. What is obtainable is, the same CHN but a different cscs number. Just like having different bank account numbers in different banks but the same BVN CHN is similar to BVN in the stock market. In addition, you can request for a CHN merger from your stockbroker if you have two or more existing cscs account with different CHN. They will give you the requirements and the amount you are to pay to cscs or your stockbroker bank account. |

emmasoft: You can use as many brokers as you wish. However, a good and recommended practice is to use a single CHN for all, it's better for you and the regulators if you have the same CHN for easy monitoring and management of your holdings.
All stockbroking firms have the same securities on their platform because they are all linked to a single and same platform (NGX) you may need to check on the navigation on a particular broker's platform. Kindly reply the right person-toluene2016 that asked the question |

ositadima1: If i am not mistaken that is d job of an investment bank. Stockbrokers link prospective stockholders and buyers/sellers to the stock market floor while providing ancilliary services around d activity.
Quoting d book "why stocks go up and down" -
"An investment banking firm has nothing to do with banking in the usual sense of checking accounts and personal loans. Rather, an investment bank is a firm that helps businesses raise money by selling new stock or bonds to either the public or as private placements to financial institutions." I overhead the staff of one of my stockbroker talking loudly about it with another client but i didn't want to say anything because it's eavesdropping. |
