This may be another shekau , his Hausa is more refined than the usual kanuri intonation of shekau, I saw a very clam man instead of the usual shekau that seem to be high on drugs .

Translation of Shekau New video

After the initial Arabic recitation giving praises to Allah, Shekau started his message at 04:57 minutes in Hausa language.

" My message will be brief and precise, I happy sending you this goodwill message, although I don't know what to say or tell you because am a bit confused as to the content and context of this message. But I will give glory to Almighty Allah. My brethrens, thank you all for your struggle and sacrifices, am optimistic you will all reap your reward in the hereafter.

I have received your numerous greetings and goodwill messages from even our members in our former caliphate called Durul Salam. Surely Allah will guide us to the right path, because right now, only Allah knows our fate and will reward us for our endeavours.

This is my message of goodwill to you all my brethrens, and also for you to see my face, other messages on the side I will send to you. Because as things stand out, only Allah knows our fate, as for me my struggle is done and finish.

May Allah see us thru
May Allah intercede in all our endeavours
May Allah protect us from the intricacies of the Devil

Foreign Affairs / 90% Of Russian Airstrikes In Syria Have Not Targeted ISIS by watts75: 9:49pm On Mar 23, 2016
Russia said it started its bombing campaign against ISIS in early October, but it turned out that ISIS was not Russia's primary target. The vast majority of Russian airstrikesabout 80% have hit other rebel groups like the FSA and those who are supported by the West and those who have fought against ISIS.

Even after Russia admitted that the Metrojet airliner
which crashed in Egypt was brought down by ISI, in response Russia launched cruise missiles into FSA held territory in Syria and not in Raqqa which is the spiritual HQ of ISI. The only group fighting ISIS that Russia have not targeted is the YPK and PKK. On the other hand, the YPK are perhaps ISIS worst nightmare, and guess who is targeting them? TURKEY.

So the only two groups fighting ISIS are

FSA targeted by Russian
YPK targeted by Turkey

Then who is targeting ISIS? surely not the West, because I can't still understand how only 1 month of Air strikes brought down Saddam Hussein government during the Gulf War and 2yrs of America plus NATO air strikes have done nothing on ISIS.

Mohammed Usman is my name, from Jigawa State. I have been an active member of Nairaland since 2007, formally using MC Usman as my ID, later 13 Volts. In all instances I forgot my password after going off line for a while.

My favorite Hausa dish is Dan Wake, The most positive thing I love about the Igbos is their zeal to for education. I initially believe the Yorubas are the most educated tribe in Nigeria, but I later came to find out that the Igbos are far more educated than the Yorubas.

On the other hand, I love the Yorubas more than any ethnic group, Infact if I have a second chance of coming back as a Nigerian, I did choose the Yoruba as my ethnic group before Hausa. The Yorubas are far the most advanced, civilized and sophisticated ethnic group in Nigeria, their tolerant nature and ability to cohibit peacefully amongst themselves despite having an almost equal number of Christians and Muslims is one trait that makes them unique.

The problem of the north is our lack of Western education, we are perhaps the most hated ethnic group in Nigeria because of what some few misguided ones amongst do.

THE BOZENA 5 MINE/I.E.D SWEEPER MIGHT BE THE MUCH SAID HIGH TECH MINE EQUIPMENT RECENTLY PURCHASED BY THE NA......

MAIDUGURI—The Nigerian Army said yesterday that it had deployed its newly-acquired hi-tech mine clearing equipment in the ongoing military operation against Boko Haram in the North East. This came as Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Nigerian Airforce Pilots Treated to a Feast !!

War is a stressfull business, not only for troops on the ground but for airmen as well. Without precision guided munitions pilots often times have to strike targets up close, this brings with it the risk of being hit by anti aicraft fire, it takes raw nerves to carry out such missions.

To boost morale base commanders and workers treat pilots to a special treat-paid for by the base commanders after each strike mission.

As everyone attention was shifted to Ese Oruru, no one noticed February came and gone without a single Boko Haram suicide bombing or attack on villages. I think this is the first time in as many years a whole calendar month will come and go with the Boko Haram killing.

Similarly, throughout February, it has been one recorded success to another by the Nigerian military.

Politics / Kano State Press Release On Ese Abduction by watts75: 9:51pm On Mar 01, 2016
PRESS RELEASE:-

Kano State Government has noted with concern the news of the alleged abduction, forced marriage and conversion to Islam of one Ese Oruru, 14, of Opolo, Yenegoa, Bayelsa State, in August last year by one Yunusa , who is said to be an indigene of Kano State.
More worrying and disturbing is the inappropriate handling of the issue by the authorities concerned, including the police and the Department of State Services, particularly following the directive and request by His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, that the girl be taken back to Yenegoa and handed over to her parents immediately, since that fateful August when the matter was brought to his attention.
In view of the gravity of the allegation, the need to protect the rights of minors on matters of faith and marriage as well as promote unity and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians particularly in the face of incorrect, misleading and grossly skewed misrepresentation of the issue and the comments it generated in the mainstream and social media, the Government of Kano State, for the purpose of setting the record straight, declares that:

The issue was handled with dispatch competently, courageously and with all sense of concern by His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, since August last year when the case was brought to his attention by ordering that the girl, Ese Oruru, who has never ever been kept under his custody in the Palace, be taken back to her parents in Yenegoa in liaison with the office of the AIG Zone One, Nigeria Police Force. He however expressed deep concern, during a recent press briefing, that his directive was not handled accordingly and therefore ordered that an investigation immediately commence on why the directive was not complied with by the office of the AIG.
The issue was never at any point in time brought to the attention of the State Government by any authority, group or person involved in any capacity in the issue, but only knew of it in the media;

The State Government condemned in its entirety the actions of the alleged abductor as it is against the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and teachings of Islam which abhor abduction, forced marriage even with the consent of parents of a girl be her a minor or adult, and forced conversion to Islam as the Quran categorically states that ‘there is no compulsion in religion’.
Security and other relevant agencies should expedite action to bring the suspect(s) to book and be dealt with according to the law;

Condemned any statement by any person, group or organization linking Kano State Government with the alleged abduction, forced marriage and conversion to Islam of the girl. Such unfounded, untrue, misguided and mischievous allegations being circulated in the mainstream and social media platforms are only meant to discredit and tarnish the good image of Kano State Government, its people and the personality of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The Government has no prior knowledge of the issue before it becomes public; it has no connection whatsoever with the suspected culprit; it has never condone such actions and will never do so now or in the future. The actions of the suspected culprit are private action of an individual which he carries personal responsibility even before the law. It is therefore unfortunate and unjustifiable to attempt to link an unlawful action of only one person to the Government and over 15million people of the state. The person is solely responsible for his action and should take responsibility for it.

The State Government has a very cordial relationship with the indigenous people and Governments of Bayelsa and Delta States and will continue to do whatever possible to promote that. Kano indigenes living in these states and other states across the country are enjoined, as always, to live peacefully with their host communities and respect their ways of life and the Constitution of our great County.

Family / Abducted Bayelsa Ese: I'm 17 Yrs, I'm Here To Be A Muslim, Don't Want To Go Back by watts75: 8:30pm On Feb 29, 2016
A teenager, who was allegedly kidnapped from Bayelsa State to Kano, Ese Oruru, said on Monday she was not interested in reuniting with her family, denying reports that she was abducted from her home in Bayelsa State.
In an exclusive audio recording obtained by PREMIUM TIMES on Monday, the girl also said she eloped with her lover to Kano in order to convert to Islam.
“My name is Aisha Chuwas. I am 17-year-old. I came here to be a Muslim and I will stay here,” she said in the audio.
The recording appeared a conversation between Miss Oruru and a police interrogator in Kano.
A human rights lawyer, Huwaila Mohammed, who was given access to the girl at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Kano, said upon interrogation, she understood the girl was never forced to convert to Islam.
“I was there to protect her rights,” Ms. Mohammed said. “When I approached her initially, she refused to talk to me. Later she opened up to me.
“She is very defiant. She told me she was born in February 1999. I personally wanted her to reunite with her family, but surprisingly she asked me to tell her mother that she will never return to Bayelsa.
“The police should ensure that she is protected and returned to her family. She is still not matured enough to take such a weighty decision without parental consent.”
Ms. Mohammed, who also spoke with Miss Oruru’s lover, Yunusa Yellow, said upon interrogation, she established that he is 18-year-old man “not anywhere above 20”.
“I was surprised when I saw a very small boy. He is just 18-year old. I was enraged thinking that it was an old man involved in the saga. From the way I see it, they eloped not because of religion but love,” she said.
In his reaction, the emir of Kano denied reports that he was holding Miss Oruru.
The emir said on Monday that since September last year, the emirate council handed her over to AIG Zone 1, Tambari Yabo, for onward transportation to her family in Bayelsa.
He said the district head of Kura brought the case to the palace when Mr. Yunusa presented Ms. Oruru to the district office, seeking approval to marry her.
The emir’s Chief of Staff, Munir Sanusi, further shed lights on the matter, saying the emir ordered that she be return to her family as she was too young to take such decision.
“The emir attached the girl with the palace emissary, Jakadan Mallam, and one of her relatives to go to the police headquarters,” Mr. Sanusi said.
“Since she alleged threats from members of his family, we involved the police to provide security.”
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, said he was on top of the situation as he had spoken to his Kano State counterpart, Abdullahi Ganduje, on the matter.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Francis Agbo, said Mr. Seriake had discussed the matter with Mr. Ganduje on several occasions to ensure a faster resolution of the crisis.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that Miss Oruru’s “kidnapper” has been arrested and is being detained at the Zone 1 Police Headquarters, Kano.
The spokesman for the zonal police office, Rabilu Ringim, could not be reached to comment for this story.
Mr. Ringim, an assistant superintendent of police, did not answer or return multiple calls and text message.
Audio recording of Miss Oruru to come shortly…

Even as Commander of Boko Haram or a regional Amir, you need protection from the unforeseen. We have heard stories of how fighters kill their own commanders due to one reason or the other. Three months ago, a widow killed 15 ISIS fighters in Northern Aleppo after ISIS allegedly recruited her husband as a suicide bomber.

With disagreement over how the war is been lost and fought you did expect local commanders to use Metal detectors as a form of protection against disgruntle fighters.
