I have seen cases like that here before. you do not need to panic about yours and your boy, they will all be approve. How old is your girl? lets see if she can travel alone, maybe that is what they wanna consider but I doubt sha.
Jimmychuks2018:
Thanks bro was just wondering why they would approve just my daughter's own. Whereas it was a single application.

Must you respond to everything? leave it alone for those that believe and wants it. grin
jnyuwa02:

Who is this one again? This forum is getting too overtly religious. Don’t forget to do the needed work and strategizing and God will do his part on revealing whether he wants you to get a visa or not. Shikenah!

Of course go ahead if you have all the requirement.
Mickychen:
I have a question please, as international students, can't we also do the express entry? I think with that, we should have better chances.

Thank you Jesus. congratulations to your family.
Jimmychuks2018:
My medical passed yesterday and eligibility started, my son's eligibility started reviewing yesterday. Then my daughter's original passport request came yesterday. Meanwhile it was a family application. It's well I thank God for everything.

I just want to make a little point from your application to help others and not to misled them. You said you didnt include SOP, but literally you did in Bold Statement below. Sometimes Statement of purpose is not suppose to be too lengthy as we use to write and also we have seen reasons why some applicants are encouraged to write and include one. I wish you goodluck bro.

Hello my people, due to the condition of my baby in Nigeria, I could not wait any longer for the processing time to elapse before I sent an Email to the MP representing my constituency to really know why is taking time for applications under SOWP to be reviewed and process. the below was the response I got concerning my wife application.

Hello xxxxxxxx

Thank you for contacting the office of the MP regarding your wife’s open work permit.

I have spoken with a liaison with IRCC.

Currently, the application is in progress, criminality has been completed, preliminary verifications have been completed, the medicals are good until May 2019, eligibility is still to be determined. The liaison said it is still too soon to be able to discern from the agent’s notes if all the concerns that occurred with the first application have been address to the agent’s satisfaction.

The liaison was unable to give a projected completion date for your wife’s file.

Omo @Bab5 this post is long oooooo grin Also I want to say that SOWP application will start receiving update very well from mid August because by then the pressure on study permit will have reduced because most schools in Canada resumes August/Sept. It will end in praise In Jesus Name.
Bab5:
As I have said in other answers, I am a retired visa officer (Canadian overseas immigration officer). I worked for CIC and its predecessors for many years.

Concerning “slow”, are you speaking of applications for visitor visas or applications to immigrate to Canada? Processing procedures and processing times are very different depending on what sort of visa you are applying for.

Visa applicants so often seem to imagine that CIC and its programming must be the most important activity conducted by the Government of Canada. It’s not even close. Historically immigration and visas have been much lower priorities than other Government of Canada activity, such as Employment Insurance, National Defence, international trade relations, income tax collection, implementing bilingualism legislation, regulating and ensur.

Hello Bro. Please be careful with that Agent, The University of Regina is never in Ontario. U of R is in Saskatchewan. And again do not limit yourself because of that CGPA, you can actually get admitted with that cgpa but with a strong statement of purpose, conviction and also maybe if you have some years of work experience in that field and they are all required in your program or dept. Also we have seen several people with PGD or PGC acquiring a study permit here. If you can take your time to read through the thread let say in the last two Part (12 and 13) you will find some information that can help. Also check schools like MUN seems their cgpa requirement is low. Operation you can do it yourself grin
Amahjosh:
Hello fam..I am new here and I need advice from the gurus in the house. I am a a graduate of Electronics Engineering I want intend doing my masters in Canada but seems my Cgpa which is 3.24 is not high for that so my agent advice I should apply for a certification course related to my field in University of Regina in ontario that after one year I can switch to masters fully. My question is should I take that route can I be given visa with a certification course will this route fly

My wife landed in Vancouver on July 05. At the POE, the immigration officer asked about her profession. That was it. The sad thing was that her luggages were held in Vancouver for a day before they were sent to Alberta. They opened all the food items and condiments.

Everyone here will testify very soon. Be patient and positive

Mr Man you do not address someone you do not know to think well ok? if you follow the questions and answers of the issue to be treated here you will notice my answer is for the person that said "you can't have two valid passports at the same time" and my response is that the previous passport will be cancelled without prejudice. If you claim to be smart and knows how to think you will understand my response and you wont reply me that way.
harde116:
It's sad when people are ignorant of something and they argue with all confidence. So if you have a US visa on a passport, and your passport expires and you provide a newly renewed passport. Your visa will be cancelled? And why do some people have 2 or 3 passports sometimes? Please think well first before you answer.

Thanks

Everything works together for our good. I can see that you are in a state of making a drastic decision. from my opinion dear, I will advice you defer your admission to the next academic year to give you room for more preparation. why did I say so? 1. God might be involve in this maybe is not yet your time, I was also in your shoe in 2016 and I was in a rush to apply so as to resume in sept 2016 but truth be told I was not ready financially and emotionally as at then, so I made a decision to defer to winter term in jan 2017 but no space till Sept 2017, so I had no choice I settled for that and applied for my Visa in January 31st, 2017 and got approved in March 8th imagine. I had to work and spend time with families and friend till August 28th before I left for Canada. so dear weigh your options okay if you are really ready and again can you meet the timeline for Sept 2018 resumption? please I will advice defer and get the New admission letter in your hand so you can apply anytime you are ready and wish before you know we are in 2019. My advice anyways.
jazzyjay:
Good Afternoon Gurus in the house,

Please am in a deep shit right now, i requested for my admission to be deferred till January, but from their end i was made to understand that there is no January 2019 intake till September 2019, i later sent them another mail requesting for the cancellation of the deferement was made to understand that my space has been given to someone and presently the school is on waitlist so i will have only two options left, either join the waitlist or defer till september 2019. i responded to them that they should put me on waitlist. Now my challenge is this, should i still go ahead with the tuition fee and visa process with my initial acceptance letter or i should wait till when they confirm the space for me. i really dont know what to next.

Am in a state of confusion right now because i was planning on paying for the tuition fee by month ending and putting in my visa application the same time in other to resume from September 2018.

Please i need your input here.

Thank you and God bless

Ogbeni I will advice you to do it in Nigeria before you travel. because it also depends on where you will be in Canada. the cost of going to Ottawa is not that cheap too. if you have contact in Nigeria do it before you go. my advice.

The bolded is not valid, my application was May 15th after the stated May 9th and updates has been made on it and by faith the visa is approved self grin If you really want to know whats happening to your wife application call them at 8:30am on the dot Ottawa time anything after 8:40-45 is automated machine and I do not believe those machines
kife:

I do wish the MP in Ontario will even answer somebody.
There is nothing much one can do but wait and wait.

I placed a call to cic today with respect to my wife's application and the automated system stated clearly that applications recieved after May 9th are not yet being processed.

Meaning its pointless looking for update if you applied after May 9th.

I just know one thing sha...none of my children will be Nigerian by birth.. cheesy

Its well.

Oh no, your wife's situation is indeed an urgent one. I can only but imagine how she's coping with baby and the wound. Please let her find the MP for her area within Regina, it does depend on the place she lives. Here's the website: https://regina.foundlocally.com/Local/Gov-FederalMPs.htm. Just pick the person representing her area and call or schedule a meeting. That's where I got the one I'm in touch with.

It's well.

That MP is not nice. 10days is not fair. they have the power to contact CIC immediately and know whats happening. Oga oooo
Bab5:
Evening guys

Only God knows what actually they are checking.....14weeks counting and is only background processing, no update since 3rd of April.....I sent various email and CSE this week, all I got is your "application is still processing, always check your CIC account for update ".

Hubby also checked in at his MP office, he was asked to come back 10working days for update.

Am here waiting patiently

All I know is that it will end in praise.

Travel / Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by wealth360: 10:43pm On Jul 12, 2018
Dont worry Bro. since the MP office is involved they have no choice than approval. as bolded below in their message, I can now confirm what someone in Ottawa told me that most application will have been treated but they will just leave it there to be update whenever they wish or probably towards the end of the application processing time or beyond. I knew these guys are just fake in their work ethics or policy. they stay long to respond to application so people will think they are working hard....I laff. well let keep the finger crossed. It will all end in praise for us all.
StudentsNG:

It's just saddening attempting to connect some of these dots, it just makes no single sense. I have been in touch with an MP in my region regarding this and the office has been helpful checking on the progress. CIC confirmed to them on May 18th that my wife's criminality and background checks were completed and successful, yet the online status remained processing since then till date. I contacted the office again last week and below is their reply after they spoke with CIC yet again.

"Good Morning,

As discussed your wife's application has made some progress but remains incomplete. They've checked your wife's criminality and background, and more recently verified your study permit and work permit, and your UofR enrollment. I asked if anything was required or could be done to expedite the process so that you can be reunited with your wife and see your daughter, but the response was that you need only continue to wait and you should hear back soon. I do hope that is correct. They suggested waiting until the end of the month before enquiring again, but as I said if you have no news I don't mind checking again and pushing in a couple weeks for you. You daughter's application is of course waiting for a decision on your wife's application, and then should be completed without any delay.

Best Regards"

I'm wondering. They kept the application after those verification. What for? Till today their status is still showing background check ongoing. It's depressing to forcefully separate one from his family for no just cause. Fingers crossed.
