GCMS (Global Case Management System) is Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC's) system used to process applications for citizenship and immigration, tourist visas, student visas and visas under any other program. ... The GCMS notes are issued under the Access to Information and Privacy Act (ATIP). (Google) grin

So it is better for wifey to go with your older children incase they are required to do it. But it was on the CIC website I saw the age group of 14-79years are needed to give biometric.
Ajayi4:

Thank you @wealth360. I am grateful. A friend of mine whose wife came to Canana with a son of ten year old said the son was asked to do biometrics before they collected his passport. Another colleague whose wife submitted passport about four months ago was asked to pay biometrics money for all of the children less than 13. I keep wondering o

I am not so sure, but I think biometric depends on the age too. maybe you should try and check CIC website to know the age group for Biometric. If we received your application before July 31
You need to give your biometrics if you’re between 14 and 79 years old, even if you gave them to us in the past in support of an application for a visitor visa, study or work permit.Goodluck
Ajayi4:
Hello my people, I want to ask if children are doing biometrics now. I learnt that before passport can be submitted for children, they will ask them to undergo biometrics or pay the money. My wife is going to submit passports on Wednesday and I don't know if she will have to go with the children. Somebody pls help.

My advice is that you should try and confirm from VFS if your passport has been sent to the high commission office in VI, if NO then get it back, If YES, please try and send CIC an email requesting for their passport data page. I wonder why you did upfront and didnt do for your children. Please try and do it. at children practice Ikoyi, children pay same fee as adult. N28,050.

jnyuwa02:

Before you come here and start attacking people who are honestly trying their best to help others, learn to do your research well. A simple google search reveals sighting of processing time in the last two years in their 20+ weeks in Ghana and Nigeria. Memory might not serve me accurately from last fall, but to the fullest of my accurate recollection, I remember seeing processing time last August and September on CIC website for Nigeria at least 20 weeks.

Many waited for long agreed, but be sincere on CIC website did you see anything like 22 weeks for study permit processing time? A VO decision on an application can take more than the official processing time on their website. you no specify which one bro that is what am saying. grin
jnyuwa02:

Put a stop to what? Take a chill pill, I do remember processing time last year at it apex been 22 weeks. Many waited an average of 5 months last year fall to hear of a decision is a fact! Many were backlogged and couldn’t make it in the fall. Reform was needed and it came this year!
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by wealth360: 6:37pm On Jul 24, 2018
Bros kindly put a stop to this "at this time last year it was 22 weeks" Study permit has never been 22weeks not even in the 2 past consecutive years.
At this period last year precisely in June 09, 2017, a moniker called Yomalicious asked a question about her application and how long will it take her to get a response? @mcobex responded to her and quoted the processing time as at then to be 14 weeks. Only in SOWP application you will see 22-24 weeks processing time as at last year for Nigerians. Just correcting
jnyuwa02:

You call 10 weeks ungodly? Last fall at this time it was 22 weeks. That must be the zenith of ungodliness in your dictionary. At any length, to apply in Ghana or South Africa you must have residency, student status or citizenship there. Otherwise you would be rejected based on status in country of application, meaning you would have spent enormously to travel there, only to be returned to square one. If you have the stated status in those countries, as said, you still have to appear physically to apply there. Best wishes.

Ps: I will advice you apply in Nigeria. Even those with legal residency applying abroad are subjected to very lengthy processing time because of their unique status in those countries. They have to verify stuffs. I had a guy from Denmark call me up two days ago who is resident there, complaining he has been subjected to much more longer processing time than ordinarily Danish citizens applying in that country.

That is not wise enough. Please contact the hospital where you did your upfront medical to check in with them if your medical result was sent to CIC because you got a medical request again. they might want to send it to CIC directly again instead of bombarding those addresses with email

This could also help others too. Whenever you are ask to put 10years work experience, It actually calculated like this. E.g @Joe10 has 4years work experience + NYSC (1year)+ BSc degree (4 or 5years), when you sum everything up you will discover you have covered the 10 years work experience and again the work experience is trying to know what exactly you have been doing for the past 10 years be it schooling, working, volunteering e.t.c. So @Joe10 what did you put in addition to your 4years work experience?
joe10:
Good day pals... Please before submitting my application documents at the VFS office. The attendant that verified my documents said i must record 10 years work history even though i told him that i only have 4 years work experience as evidenced on my submitted offer letter. i had to edit and reprint my application form. Hope this won't be an issue when the VO finds out that my actual work experience is 4yrs but stated 10yrs on my application form. Has anyone experienced similar case cos i am worried about this?

kpizzle:

It is looking like we are turning "the exceptions" to norm here. If something is true for 90-95% of the time then it is better to look at it not the 5%. We are dwelling on the 5% quite a lot. Like we all have agreed, there is some basic requirement that does not require any extra explanation and it works most of the time not because a "bullet-proofed" SOP is added to the application.

The VOs can't be perfect and we all know that. There can be slips here and there but overall they definitely try to be consistent. I have gone through the required document (imm5483e) for student permit and SOP/LOE is not part of it and a VO can refuse to consider it or read it.

from On-line search, Lawyers don't advise anyone to take CIC to court because they know it is a long and turbulent process. CIC also have their legal team and if you read all the agreement we have been signing when we apply then you will know they are fortifying themselves too.

Being the "creame of the crop" includes one's ability to be law abiding. They are also concern that some sicko can wake up go to a mall and start shooting or some dude can just get to canada and start producing babies knowing the welfare will take care of them. I mean just as our schools say both in academics and character.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by wealth360: 1:43am On Jul 23, 2018
You have really studied the thread very well. Nice observation with your third eyes grin. I believe you have pass a message to someone. Thanks
kpizzle:
Thanks @COPR and@jnyuwa02 and every other gurus in the house. Your views on the issue on SOP have prompted me to share my thoughts openly. I have been following this topic since March/April and I have seen many approval and refusal (including mine) and this has shape my view about the whole process.

There is this general believe that we cannot second guess the VO and they take their decisions based on impulse. I am not sure about this assumption, the VOs are professionals and they cannot be playing "Russia roulette" or throwing dices to take their decisions. As someone with several years of working experience in a professional environment, there will sure be standard operational procedure or guideline they follow when taking their decisions.

Students that finished with first class and are given full or partial scholarship are almost 90% or more to granted visa. This is no brainer because the VO wants to filter out the talents from other countries and support Canada to get the cream de la cream of the brains around the world. I have seen such people unnecessarily panicking on this forum and giving themselves unwarranted high blood pressure.

Also, people with “good” sponsor in term of cash only need to show proper ties to the sponsor via their relationship. The VO clearly needs to be comfortable that when one get into their country they will not become nuisance and start hustling on the street of Canada. They need to be sure someone will not get struck and desperate in their country. Instead it is more like a FDI (foreign direct investment) into their country.

This issue of family ties is the most confessing for me and this is my own thinking about it. The VO definitely knows that if someone is married with or without children, the person will want to bring their spouse and children to Canada too and it is could serve as a means of relocating. Landed properties belonging to the applicant can be sold at any time and cannot be a stumbling block to relocate. For me, I think home ties are favorable if ones family/spouse or the applicant has a company to return to or some establishment has guaranteed a job offer or the Dad or Mom has properties willed or transfers to the applicant.

As for me, part of the reason I was refused was based on poor academic record which was weird. Although I had a 2’1 but I was able to get admission into a top school, University of Waterloo. My argument was that “wetin concern VO with academic qualification, no be the school suppose check that one” but hey, we need to understand the Mordi of operadi of the VOs. They see themselves as a gate to Canada and they have to make sure they get the best into their country. They logical analyses all scenarios to decide on the visa via their “checklist”. They have seen all sort of people from those that get to Canada and don’t even attend school to those that could not cope with the rigor of academic and also those that decided to ship all their families into Canada immediately. They are just trying to protect their country from being “invaded” by someone who was able to “con” their schools to get admission.

I want to conclude with this note that we cannot continue with the narrative that we don’t know how the VO takes their decision. From all the shared approval and refusal we can have a better idea of what is going on. For those of my brothers and sisters who are in my shoes, maybe you are self-sponsored or has a weak sponsor and maybe you don’t have a first class with no offer of scholarship and maybe one is going for PGD, please don’t just give up. Keep fighting on, pour you heart into those SOP/LOE and pray that the God lord will Favour you.

Hello Phil, I am not so clear about your post but from my understanding, you already had your CAQ, and a masters admission in Concordia University? and because there is no winter term you are planning to get a PGD admission that will enable you to resume in winter term? if am right then, I guess you are taking a wrong step.
First, try and apply for your visa towards this fall term and take note that everyone's application is unique and different approaches are used in accessing individual's application so dont look at the 10weeks processing time and get discouraged. if all your documents are ready please go ahead and apply. if you know you are not that ready then its better to wait than trying to find another PGD admission for winter term. please correct me if am wrong. Cheers
Philomena15:
Please can someone help me

I just got my CAQ and I am so skeptical about applying for visa. I have an admission at Concordia university for this sept and there's no winter semester for that program. Is it too late to apply for visa owing to the fact that the processing time is now 10weeks?

Also I have checked for universities and colleges for PGD in biochemistry or anything related but I can't seem to find any. I can't really go for masters cos I graduated with HND. Please anyone that has info on anything related to biochemistry PGD should pls help, let me reapply for winter semester. I have searched and searched. What about an advanced diploma what are my chances? I'm also checking my age, I'm 27

Thanks
