Cruztvblog: The Department of State Services told the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Tuesday that suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, will flee the country if granted bail.
The Attorney General of the Federation also supported the argument of the DSS, describing Emefiele as a “flight risk.”
The former head of the apex bank is challenging his detention by the DSS and denying him seeing his family members and lawyers.
Recall reports that Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Tinubu and subsequently detained by the DSS on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
At the resumption of hearing on Tuesday, both DSS and OAGF stated these in separate counter-affidavits filed in a fundamental rights enforcement suit by the suspended CBN chief.
In its own affidavit, the OAGF dismissed the speculation that Emefiele was being held for terrorist-related crimes. It also said he was not being victimised for his involvement in politics and the botched naira redesign policy.
The OAGF said: “Issues of terrorism financing and fraudulent activities are not part of the grounds for the arrest and detention of the applicant.
“The respondents have not violated the applicant’s right to live in any way, his life is not in danger. The respondents did not subject the applicant to any judicial adjudication to warrant the allegation of denial of a fair hearing.
“With the remand order issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, the said violation of the applicant’s right to freedom of movement does not arise.
The respondents did not subject the applicant to any torture, the details of which have not been provided.”

Dan was truly a household name in the region who took pride in handling every process with FRSC, VIO or MVAA faster than anyone else. Similar to Chiamaka’s service, Dan ensured to cover all the legitimate requirements from the driving school certificate to settlement for officers.
However, the price Dan offered was a bit lower: ₦23,000 for 3 years and ₦26,000 for 5 years. Accordingly, the time for an original license to be issued would be longer – 26 working days.
Besides Chiamaka and Dan, there are so many other agents out there available for a quick application process. 99% of them would assure you don’t need to attend a driving school or even present at FRSC offices. You will automatically pass the VIO test if you go through their services and most importantly, your driver’s license is delivered before due: 26 working days or even shorter.

Justiceori2019: Police arrested three persons on Tuesday 20th June, 2023 in Ondo State over the disappearance of a newborn baby’s placenta at a health centre.
According to the police, the suspects included a nurse, a health assistant and a security officer. But the real identities of the suspects had not been revealed.
The suspects were said to be state government workers, who work at the Emure Ile Comprehensive Health Centre in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the concerned family member of the victim raised the alarm after the hospital workers failed to hand over the placenta to them after the delivery of the baby five days ago.
The 23-year-old father of the baby, Mr Tunde Ijanusi, explained that they were worried about the failure of the health workers to hand over the placenta of their newborn baby to them.
He said, “The baby girl was born on June 15, 2023, at the comprehensive health centre in Emure Ile, and since then the health workers that took the delivery have not given us the placenta. We are very worried about this.”
The worried father said necessary action must be taken to ensure that justice is served on the suspects.
The paternal grandmother of the baby, Mrs Funmilayo Ijanusi, stated that the hospital workers claimed that a dog had entered the facility, carting away the placenta.
She added that the hospital personnel had also been persuading the family to let go of the matter.
The state Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said an investigation was ongoing on the matter.
