Of course to every rule, there is an exception but the fact remains that a personal bank statement is NOT a mandatory document for a business visitor. While I also concede that in certain cases. e.g where the applicant's company is a largely unknown company, it is better to add other documents to show the applicant's personal economic and financial circumstances, this can still be done WITHOUT a personal bank statement IF the company is paying for the trip. You can show personal financial and economic circumstances with covering letter from company, pay slips, tax clearance, share certificates, land title documents etc.
U r perfectly 'spot on' on d bolded.

But it is pertinent to advice visa applicant that there are certain visa requirements not stated in Immigration rules or used in most developed or non-corrupt countries but are largely used as yardstick to try and determine genuine visitors in some countries, most especially Nigeria.

It is a general belief among d ECO's that an average successful Nigerian should have a personal account running "averagely ok" with or without his status (employer or employee). cos they believe most of the documents submitted by applicants can be "arranged"

Visa applicants in Nigeria has 'bombard' the Visa Section with more than enough fake documents to warrant d embassy go extra mile in documents' required for visa issuance here in Nigeria compare to other countries.

IMO

I think we need to clarify the issue here. The determining factor is the category of visa you are applying for. The fact is If you are applying for a BUSINESS VISITOR Visa, YOU DO NOT need your personal bank statements. All that you require would come from your company. However, if you are applying for ANY OTHER Visa, YOU DO NEED your personal bank statements EVEN IF your company is sponsoring your trip.
Do not generalize the bolded.
A personal bank statement depicts the applicant's "personal" economic and financial circumstances/status which will go a long way to convince the ECO (with substantial evidence of investments or social attachment to the country) that the applicant will/might return back to his country after his trip. in other words, a personal bank statement is needed for "most" of visa categories IMO.

My 2cent:

1. Ur wife might be trying 2 tell U something here (though dats totally a wrong way 2 do dat). But are U romantic? Gone are d days dat husband ask wify: oya lets do it, i want it now, etc. After 6 years of marriage U should know ur wife's 'key-starter'

2. I hate it whenever I hear stuufs like, my wife is not giving me 'stuff' at home, then I need to find alternative outside. Motive for infidelity should not be attached to circumstances. If U want to taste those young apples outside, nobody can advice or stop U. its ur decision.

3. U should know by now dat communication is the solution to 90percent of marital problems.

4. And if ur predicament remains dsame, pls consult ur Creator.
