Science/TechnologyRe: Python Swallows Two Goats In Lagos (Photos) by Weedcrusher:
Pythons! pythons!! pythons!!! How many times did I call you? For your best interest, you guys should find your way out of Nigeria. Do whatever it takes, wriggle your way to other neighbouring countries or location where there is a white person. It is obvious people in that country are on a mission to kill you all grin.

On a more serious note, Python being killed has made frontpage of Nairaland for 4 consecutive days shocked. These are just pythons killed in the presence of a nairalanders, how much more those killed shy of a nairalander camera.

These snakes are non venomous that contribute to existence of our ecosystem. Please stop killing them mercilessly

For those saying the snake is greedy for swallowing two goats, won't you finish two plates of rice when you're super hungry? undecided

Annie Idibia in towel, ready to swim with her daughter's grin cheesy grin......if I were the mod, my replied to the topic would have been and so? Very soon we will start seeing topics like:

Tonto Dike holding spoon, ready to eat her breakfast or

CelebritiesRe: Basketmouth's Security Guard Arrested For Fleeing During Robbery Attack by Weedcrusher:
Interrogated or Arrested. If interrogated, that's the normal procedure. Even bright and other occupants of the house should be interrogated for investigation purpose. But if he's arrested based on running away from the crime scene, then I must say the Nigerian police is probably one of the most incompetent police authority I know. The guy should be praised instead for not trying to be Macho and face bullets.

Now to Bright, the other when he was robbed, I thought I saw where he was celebrating and drinking with friends. Though it's a good thing to thank God for life, but we should try do things right some times instead for social media.

Now the police asked why he never reported the crime on time, and all he could come up with is the flimsy excuse of not wanting a shoot out. But he felt safe drinking with friends and sharing it on social media that morning than reporting the crime to police.

As funny as this is, it shows reality of hardship in the country.

The goat is not to be blamed, it wants to eat for survival just like the man.

Mikollon1:
As expected, no one incorporated male rapè victims of female perpetrators into the march.

They all assume males can't be sexually or physically had by a female. What's worse is that males seem to be spearheading this very March. These guys come across as individuals with no self esteem so much so that they have to bend over backwards for a female to be relevant.

For those that are slow, I am not of the opinion that the March is wrong. The process is just sexist if it doesn't account for 100% of the problem as against the 50% it currently covers.

100% of the problem = exposing that males can be victims of sexual and physical violence and the hands of females and vice versa.

I know some misandrists will feel only few men are victims of female violence therefore, there's no need to March for them.
Well, my question to them is, should the male (the victim) have any recourse to the law?

Remember how people hated Dino for insulting a woman that insulted him?

Remember how people called Freeze a woman beater because he exposed his wife as a husband beater?

Think!

Men are people too.
Hmmm

I am sincerely tired of these tribal rantings all the time here on Nairaland.

The mods should do something about it ASAP!
Thanks........I'm equally tired of the idiocy display by a significant number of people on this forum

I'm glad you have spoken AGAINST this madness that have consumed many here...
Ok, your tribe is "greater" what next?
Does it guarantee free food for your tribesmen and you?
Does it give scholarship?

Dumb people already.
It's the mentality here on nairaland. And economic situation in the country is not helping too. If people could divert the energy they use in showing how superior their tribe or religion into questioning and making political leaders accountable for their mandates, the country will become better

You nailed bros. Sometimes am just baffled with quality of comments I see her, so shallow and myopic. You will hardly get constructive and objective inputs from so-called contributors. I think the moderator has a great role to play here in order to sanitize this forum. The level of ethnic bigotry on display is alarming.
Nairaland used to be a very informative forum. I remembered when I first joined in 2008 with my first moniker, I used to be on the forum for hours getting knowledge on almost everything. These days most topics that make front page are irrelevant celebrity stories, unnecessary politicians stories or killing of wild animals. Though there are still some reasonable topics that make front page, but they are like 1 in 20 topics

CelebritiesRe: Jidenna Starts Scholarship Scheme In ESUT To Honour Late Dad by Weedcrusher:
The problem I see with Nigerians or should I say Nairalanders for precision, is that most of you have a mentality of it's either our people is better or others are worse. It's either you are with us or totally against us.

And truth be told, I have observed this amongst the Yoruba and Igbo tribes, but that doesn't exclude other tribes in the country. People express illusion of grandeur when there is something good being talked about their tribe, and immediately transition into a defensive demon when something not so good is being said about their tribe.

We get it the Yoruba and Igbo people of Nairaland, your tribe is the best. Can we now move on to something productive and unifying for the interest of building our great nation?

Now to the Topic at hand, It is a great gesture from this young man and his sister to come back to their root and start a scholarship scheme in honour of their late father. This action should be encourage and should be an inspiration for other Nigerians in diaspora to come back home and do something productive

Instead of you that Yoruba boy coming on this thread and see no good in what the guy has done because he is from Igboland, just bury your face in shame for being so myopic. And instead of you that you Igbo boy bragging about how great your tribe because of what your brother has done, just shut your mouth and use your brain in thinking of how you can help your society when you become successful

QED: Let there be peace among us all. Instead of engaging in tribal war and hate, let's unite and move this country in the right direction

Nah...that would be Germany bro.
You dont pay tuition, you work and earn cool bucks(probably more than those in Canada €>$, ability to work full time...)

The only 'little' challenge is the language.
Then the big challenge is job after studies.

But if you actually just want to "study" and return, Germnay toh badt.
The scope of discussion here is where to study, work full time without language barrier, stay and become citizen eventually after graduating. Mind you, I have friends studying in Germany that will do anything to enter Canada

You are allowed to work as a student, and you don't have to pay a dime. However, you are only limited to work for only 20 hours in a week when school is in session and full hours during break

claremont:
It's not the only country. It can be done in the UK, and many students have transitioned to British citizens in 5 years.

I support the view of the OP based on the current immigration climate in the UK. I would join the OP to urge prospective international students to consider migrating to countries with flexible immigration policies. The UK has got one of the best tertiary education systems in the world, but the downside of the UK is that it has a draconian immigration structure, even more so with the 'Brexit' decision. If the intention of the international student is to get a good education and go back to his/her country, then by all means, come to the UK; but if the intention is to stay behind after studies, it's increasingly difficult (not impossible) to do that in the UK.

There are only 3 main routes of staying behind for an international student in the UK; these are the Tier 1/2 visa route, the marriage route, or the British Army route. These routes are not easy to get, and the system has got safeguards (pitfalls) that you must go through to get to the end point i.e. British passport.
It sounds funny when the point you raised contradict your explanation. You first said it can be done in UK, then you went ahead to explain that the stringent immigration makes it impossible for international students to become citizen. Lol

This is not about bragging, but the most immigration friendly country to international student as at today is Canada. Apart from the cold (that one can get used to with time) and international tuition (that's even lower than that of UK and US), Canada is such a lovely country for international students
TravelRe: Before Applying Or Coming To The Uk For Studies: Beware Of This by Weedcrusher:
Come to Canada. No long thing

I came to Canada in 2010, finished my masters in 2012, got job in my field in 2013, apply for my permanent in 2014, got it in 2015, awaiting my citizenship by 2019.

The only country you can transition from being a student to becoming a full citizen in less than 10 years.

Peaceful, hospitable and friendly people.........

CrimeRe: Indonesia Rejects International Pleas To Halt Executions Of Nigerian by Weedcrusher:
It is quite obvious that countries like Indonesia and Malaysia are strict on their drug related offenses. I will advise my fellow Nigerians to desist from this act because your life worth than the risk. But if you're hell bent on drug smuggling which I strongly object, do so in countries that value life more, and where the maximum jail term you can get is 25 years
