Politics / Policeman Who Shot Bamidele At Ekiti APC Rally Dismissed - Police by weIMPORT: 7:06am On Jun 05, 2018
The Police have dismissed the trigger-happy mobile policeman who shot former House of Representatives member Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele and five other party faithful last Friday.

The culprit opened fire at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat during the welcome rally held for the governorship flag bearer, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Bamidele and five other injured party members were hospitalised. But, the former federal lawmaker has been relocated to Lagos for post-surgery treatment.

The officer was battered by angry party members who smashed his head, inflicted injuries on him and dispossessed him of his service rifle.

Ekiti State Commissioner of Police Mr. Bello Ahmed, disclosed that the mobile policeman has been dismissed from service to pave the way for his trial in court as soon as he is discharged from the hospital.

The police boss who spoke on a live programme on Channels Television said that the politician who brought the policeman to Ekiti State from his Lagos base has been detained and he is being grilled by interrogators.

Ahmed said the politician will also be arraigned in court as soon as the Police conclude their investigation into the shooting incident.

He said: “The policeman involved is dismissed already and even though he’s nursing some injury.

“At the appropriate time, he will face the law of course. Nigerians will be briefed on the outcome of our actions.”

Ahmed also spoke on the readiness of the command to regulate the activities of political parties to prevent violence and other acts that could lead to breakdown of law and order.

Nigerian comedian Basketmouth in a session with a South African based psychic medium was told that the baby his wife miscarried was supposed to be a boy and this got the ace comic actor emotional.

He was actually reportedly in touch with the psychic to connect with his late mum, and the psychic revealed way more than the comedian bargained for.

The psychic asked him how many children he has and Basketmouth said he has three kids, but two with his wife. The psychic further asked how many male kids he has and he said 1.

But she told him she was connecting to two boys. She asked if his wife had a miscarriage and Basketmouth’s throat tightened with emotion and he went silent. At this point, it becomes obvious that the psychic was right about a miscarriage.

“I just need you to know, that was a boy,” she tells an emotional Basketmouth.

She proceeds to ask if he experiences pain in his shoulder or neck and he admitted to having shoulder pains. The psychic then told him that.

“The son’s never left your side. Do you sometimes get shoulder pain or neck pain?” she asks and when Basketmouth replies in the affirmative, she says, “That’s the son, but now your guardian protecting you.”

Celebrities / My Post Wasn’t Directed At Lola Rae, Tekno - Noble Igwe by weIMPORT: 6:44am On Jun 03, 2018
Noble Igwe, who came under fire after he made a cryptic post on social media that was believed to be targeted at Tekno and Lola Rae, has however come out to deny ever directing the post at the couple.

Noble Igwe had written:

“He made you stay away from your music to have a baby but he stayed back to push his hustle. #life”

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Noble said:

“I don’t shade, I tweet my thoughts in full but these days, I think people claim things. My tweet wasn’t directed at them and if it were, I would have mentioned their names. For example, if I write that, ‘New bloggers are all in this game for the negative stories,’ or ‘Wish some DJs will agree that the music album business is not for them,’ or ‘Some fake clothes out here but will complain about piracy,’ people would definitely read meanings to it and believe that it is directed at specific persons but it isn’t.

People always let their minds dictate what they are thinking. That’s what twitter does; it makes people align their thoughts to things happening around them.”

Speaking on his recent tweets which commended the EFCC for the arrest of some alleged Internet fraudsters, Igwe said:

“I don’t only speak out about ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys, I also speak about fraudulent people in government. Fraud is not ‘yahoo-yahoo’ only; fraud is pastors taking money from congregations and using same to build personal projects.

Fraud is also a government official taking money from the government and buying wheel barrows for people in his local government. Fraud is taking pictures of items you don’t own just to show off on social media, making people steal to compete with you.

I think we are failing as a society. It is sad that people with voices are not speaking out and that may be because we have accepted that the government has let us down and people are basically using every means to cater to their families.”

The blogger also stated that he had been getting threats for some of his positions. He said,

“I have gotten a lot of threats on social media. However, I’d always say what I feel about how we can get society working again.”

Reacting to insinuations that he reacts to issues that don’t even concern him, Igwe retorted,

“What is my business? I am a blogger and that is my work. I guess people that know my fine clothes think I am all about looking nice. I stand for a lot of things.”

Celebrities / I Didn’t Engage In Fraud To Buy My House And Car - Dice Ailes by weIMPORT: 6:18am On Jun 03, 2018
Nigerian singer Damilola Alesh, aka Dice Ailes, who is signed to Chocolate Music, has insisted that it was the money he made from music that got him a house in Lagos and a new Mercedes Benz.

When it was reported during the week that the singer had acquired a house and new car, it generated mixed reactions. It was alleged that he must have gotten money from other illegal means as it was too early in his career for him to buy such things.

Dice Ailes got his major breakthrough after releasing his hit song, Otedola, last year.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Dice Ailes said:

“As illegal as it may seem, it’s simply hard work and God that gave me the house and a new car. My prayers have always been for God to bless me in ways that would confuse and shock people. It’s evident that God is real and prayers work. I do just music and God has blessed me.

“Since I came to the limelight, I never looked back. I have learnt that anything is achievable if you put your mind to it and there is no excuse for failure.”

Speaking on how his parents reacted to news of his latest achievement, Dice Ailes stated that they were not surprised as they had been following his progress in the music industry.

He said:

“My parents know my struggles as opposed to the fans on social media. They see the process; in fact, they are a part of it. All I do is try to make them proud. I’m thankful to God for all my achievements thus far. Life is generally hard and success isn’t an easy road. But I’ve been able to attain some of the goals I set for myself, which include improving the quality of my life and the people around me. I’m grateful for this.”

Celebrities / Adenike Oyetunde: Stop Using My Images For Disability Campaigns by weIMPORT: 6:05pm On Jan 25, 2018
Info FM OAP Adenike Oyetunde has issued a warning to people who use her image for disability campaigns without seeking her consent.

The OAP who used the opportunity to remind Nigerians that she is a lawyer and was called to bar ten years ago, said she will sue anyone who ventures into using her image without giving her any prior notification.

According to Adenike Oyetunde, the fact that whatever project people are embarking on has something to do with disability doesn’t mean they should use her picture without prior notice.

Adenike Oyetunde is a cancer survivor and she is definitely waxing strong by the day. She went further to say that the fact she smiles doesn’t mean she is a fool and urged Nigerians to learn about intellectual and property rights.

The OAP made this known to the public in an Instagram post;

"Story time!!! I got to work this beautiful Tuesday morning, sometime in December 2017, excited (at least on that day). Then, Nelly, my co-anchor casually mentioned that she wanted to show me something. She then hands me a Bronchure on a campaign and I simply looked through the pages.

Well, until I saw this image -that @olanrewaju_v and @kasamyrrh own rights to. Photographer and make up artist-, in one corner, somewhere on the middle page. (Oh, I forgot to mention that earlier that day, around 7am, I got a call from someone, inviting me to an event, and I clearly stated I couldn't make it, as it was short notice.) I was first confused, then angry and I knew I needed to FIGHT it. I'll skip a lot of the things that happened.

Eventually got @bimbolafak of @fakeyechambers in on what as happening and the letter to them came.
I wasn't ready to sue anyone, or demand money; I needed them to know I knew what was right.

I got an apology yesterday and that was all I needed, at least, on this matter.

Lessons:
1) Don't EVER use my image on your project, without first getting approval; don't. It's a new year!!! Be warned... 2) The fact that whatever it is, might even have to do with disability, gives you NO right to even do it. I don't jump on EVERY project

3) Be honest with people. Imagine, I found out the 7am call, was from a member of the team. How ludicrous. And they kept passing the buck. Be RESPONSIBLE.

4) Whoever convenes, heads, organises events or projects, MUST, take full responsibility

5) STOP using peoples names, logos, images; this year, you will PAY. Stop using my own

6) It's one project at a time. We'll get to you all, gradually. Order must come, one day at a time.

7) That I smile, doesn't mean, I'm a FOOL

cool Don't forget I was called to bar almost ten years ago, well, like eight years now; or is it nine...whatever, you get the point.

9) Learn about Intellectual Property rights... Be smart, don't shut your projects/campaigns down by YOURSELF. Learn to do things the RIGHT way.

10) I let an apology this time, the next one, I'll sue your behind and you'll pay for it."
