A college professor who was famous for his racist and sexist tweets was found dead in North Carolina home, less than two weeks before his planned retirement.

University of North Carolina Wilmington professor Mike Adams' death was discovered after a friend who hadn't seen or heard from him "in a couple of days" called the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday and asked that deputies check on him, sheriff's Lt. Jerry Brewer told NBC News.

Brewer declined to elaborate on a potential cause of death, but said there was no immediate evidence of foul play. Adams, 55, lived alone.

"It is with sadness that we share the news that the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation involving Dr. Mike Adams, professor of criminology," the university said in a statement on Thursday. "Please keep his friends and loved ones in your thoughts."

Adams, who taught sociology and criminology, was a lightning rod due to his racist and sexist tweets and other commentary, including about Muslims, gays and efforts to fight the coronavirus.

His long history of comments about women, minorities and others led the university on June 5 to call out his "hateful," "distasteful" and "vile" language. That was followed weeks later, on June 29, by an announcement that Adams had decided to retire Aug. 1.

Among the professor's recent statements was his comparing the efforts of North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper to curb coronavirus to that of a slave master, tweeting on May 29:

"This evening I ate pizza and drank beer with six guys at a six seat table top. I almost felt like a free man who was not living in the slave state of North Carolina. Massa Cooper, let my people go!"

Earlier this year, Adams mocked women's studies as "non essential" and labeled civil rights protesters "thugs."

Back in 2016, Adams used an ultraconservative opinion site to target a student at his school with an article titled “A Queer Muslim Jihad.”

Nigerian singer, Joel Amadi has taken to social media to report that suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Kaduna have shot his father dead.

The singer also in his post called out governor Nasir El-Rufai and accused of him of not doing enough to curb terrorism in Kaduna State.

An old video of the APC governorship candidate in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu blasting Adams Oshiomhole in 2016 has emerged.

The 2016 candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Edo governorship election, vowed to probe the administration of incumbent Governor Adams Oshiomhole if he was elected at the time.

In the video, Ize-Iyamu could be heard urging Oshiomhole to investigate the eight years he (Ize-Iyamu) spent in office as Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government.

Speaking during the campaign which at the time held in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state, Ize-Iyamu said:

 “I call on Adams Oshiomhole to probe my time in government and look at everything that I did.

“Let him do it because by the grace of God, when I am governor, I will probe him. I will probe him; every kobo that has come to Edo State must be accounted for. That is his fear; that is why he can no longer sleep.”

A restaurant in the United States of America has lashed out at stubborn customers in a notice which reads: God will block your blessings, after customers repeatedly block their toilet.

The notice was seen in Finger Licking Restaurant on Bissonet Street in Houston, Texas. It warned customers against blocking their toilet and placed a curse on anyone who does so.

"God will block your blessings if you keep blocking the toilet with excess tissue," the notice reads.

It adds:

"Use minimal amount of tissue and throw excesses in the trash can provided. Use the trash can provided for sanitary pad. baby diaper, and wipes and hand towel."

A shocked customer who saw the sign said the notice is "so inappropriate" and added that it's even more shocking that such was seen in the United States of America.

Adedamola “Adeherself” Adewale, has regained her freedom, after she met her bail conditions.

The social media influencer has been remanded in EFCC’s custody since July 7th, 2020.

Adeherself, was arraigned in court by the EFCC on a one-count charge of possession of fraudulent documents, following intelligence received by the EFCC on the activities of some young men allegedly involved in internet fraud in the Lekki axis of Lagos.

It can be recalled that on Wednesday, July 15, Justice Sherifat Solebo granted Adeherself a bail to the tune of N500,000.

Justice Sherifat Solebo also ordered that Adewale must provide two sureties with reliable means of income which would be verified by the court.

Solebo adjourned the case until Aug. 5 for substantive hearing.

Last night, her mom briefly went live on Instagram with her to thank fans for their support during her arrest before she quickly deleted the post.

She later shared a photo of her daughter on her page and wrote:

“To God be the glory, God thanks you for everything, you know the end from beginning and all glory adoration and honour be to your holy name.”
