Afro beat singer Seun Kuti has said that he will no longer buy expensive clothes for his children as they quickly outgrow them and at the end of the day, the clothes turn out to be a waste of money.

He decided to rant after his daughter can no longer fit into an expensive dress he recently bought for her and according to him, judging the cost of the dress, it is supposed to grow alongside the girl

The singer then went ahead to mention that the expensive clothing and brands Africans go for is more or less comparable to modern day slavery.

A Nigerian lady identified as Maka has taken to twitter to narrate on how the bus she was traveling in was attacked by Fulani Herdsmen along the Benin-Ore Expressway.

According to her, she was on her way to Lagos from Owerri and just some few mile after Ore, the attackers appeared from the forest and stood in the middle of the road to attack on-coming vehicles.

It took the swift action taken by their driver who decided not to stop, but rather accelerated and took the attackers by surprise as they scampered for safety.

My mum and I left for Owerri as early as we could since we were to head back to Lagos the following day. We woke up early, got to the park, I wrote down our names in the manifest (with fake numbers just to "stick it to the man" I guess. Lol). Anyway, the beginning of the journey was pretty much the usual; a "preacher" got in to "spread the word" and was able to get the passengers to give him money just before he got down not too far from the park.

Despite the fact that I halfheartedly listened to what he said, I still said my very silent "Amens" because I had the fear of the Lord and I wasn't about to tempt Him before an 8 hour long journey to Lagos.

As soon as the "preacher's" session was over, I put my earpiece on, ready for the journey. Not too long after, I heard faint singing through the music buzzing in my ears. At this point, I was irritated at the interruptions I was faced with. Apparently, a passenger had started her own round of inside-the-bus church service. Again, I reluctantly joined them in prayers just to be safe with the Big Guy. Again, I put my earpiece in when that was over. The journey continued smoothly.

We got to the ever popular Ore at about 12noon which was pretty decent considering we left Imo at 8:30am. The driver announced that we would be spending 30minutes, people objected to this, saying that it was such a long time to spend just waiting around doing nothing. Anyway, we all got down to stretch and go for a pee.

My mum and I noticed an elderly man whom she pointed out must have had a severe stroke due to the way one side of his face sagged and how it took him forever to walk. We talked about how sad it made us feel to see him in such pain. We also took a minute to gush over a baby one of the passengers was carrying. She had the fullest, "curliest" and darkest head of hair with the most serious facial expression ever to be worn on a baby which in a weird way, made her look extra cute.

My mum and I also decided to buy some bananas and groundnuts to fill ourselves with while waiting for the driver to show up. He finally did and boy, were we happy! Little did we know what lay ahead of us a couple hours away...

As usual, I put my earpiece back in and decided to play a game of Solitaire (its probably the only game I know how to play). Only this time, I was interrupted by what I sensed was chaos. I looked up from my phone just in time to see my bus hit a silver jeep right in front of us and in the blink of an eye, it swerved in the other direction (apparently, it had seen attackers in front and was trying to escape them, but he braked so suddenly that we hit him with full force and the impact sent him flying. Then again, who hits the brakes when things like this happen?

You accelerate the F outta there and clear anyone in your path - but I digress) As this was happening, a group of men holding machetes and guns raced towards us, trying to take advantage of the fact that we had had an accident.

At this point, I threw myself over my mum who was seated in front as best as I could to protect her (not sure what good that would have done if things had gone sideways now that I think about it). My mum was already screaming "blood of Jesus, blood of Jesus!", a phrase that was chorused in unison by other passengers.

One of the attackers came straight for my mum but his machete barely missed her window because the bus driver really stepped on his accelerator with all the strength he could muster with me beside him shouting "don't stop! Keep moving!" as loudly and calmy as I could. I felt he needed to feel like he wasn't in this alone.

Just ahead of us were 2 other attackers waiting for us in the middle of the road. Again, I kept repeating to the driver that he dared not stop or slow down. Thankfully, he didn't. At this point, I should hail this driver. He really held it down for everyone in the bus.

The attackers waiting ahead realized that our bus showed no signs of slowing down, so they ran off but not without trying to swing their weapons as closely at us as they could. At this point, the bus was crying for help. Remember we had an accident earlier. The bus was smoking but we kept moving till we were sure it was safe enough to stop.

We finally parked at a village and got down to say our prayers, catch our breaths and check the damage done to the bus. As usual, the villagers gathered around us. When we told them what happened, they echoed one another, giving our attackers a name, Fulani Herdsmen. My brain blew up!!!! Maka and her mum were just attacked by Fulani Herdsmen? Whaaaaaaaaa?!!!

I started to really panic (like I wasn't scared before) and my only priority at that point was to get my mum and myself out of that village because I felt the attackers would come back. I decided to leave the small group that had formed around the bus to hitchhike. I held up my long maxi dress, adjusted my pink silk scarf to look decent enough for the task I was about to take on. I had never hitchhiked in my life (I only see these things in American movies).

Anyways with my thumb out, I beckoned to cars to stop for me. A lot of them drove past without even looking at me. After what seemed like 20mins, a taxi stopped but sadly, he wasn't going my way. I kept flagging down cars until finally, a black and white Camry stopped. I was so surprised that I didn't even move until I was so sure he stopped for me.

As soon as it clicked that it was for me, I ran all the way to his car, out of breath, I told them what happened. Yes. Them. Two men I didn't know were offering to take me to Lagos for free and I was about to take it. I just kept pleading the blood of Jesus under my breath as I ran back to my mum to tell her the news.

A woman has fallen to her death while trying to escape from a scorpion in Alaja community, Megida, in the Ayobo area of Lagos State.

The 40-year-old petty trader, Ablavi Hunkpati, fell into an abandoned well and died, PUNCH Metro reports.

Our correspondent learnt that after failed attempts by residents, relatives and sympathisers to rescue her, officials of the Lagos State Fire Service were called to the scene.

Her remains were subsequently recovered and handed over to the police by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.

The Togolese woman, her husband and their four children were said to have lived in the house for over 20 years.

A resident, who did not identify himself, said the incident happened on Saturday around 2pm.

He said:

“The woman has been living in the house for over than 20 years. As of the time she packed in, that well had been abandoned. Usually, people sit and relax on the planks used to cover the well. She was trying to run from a scorpion. She rested on the planks, which gave way. That was how she fell into the well and died.”

The abandoned well was at the entrance into the victim’s room and parlour apartment.

The house had also been cordoned off by security operatives.

A relative of Hunkpati, who identified himself only as David, showed our correspondent a bottle of soft drink he bought for her before the incident.

He said:

“She kept the drink on a drum and wanted to rid the planks on the well of insects because children usually play around there. She had finished cleaning the place when she fell.”

David explained that the victim had sighted a scorpion, and panicked when she fell into the well.

“She screamed and we rushed to see how to help her, but it was too late. She had died before anyone could do anything because the well is over 100 feet deep. We called the fire service, but when they came, it was too late,” he added.

It was learnt that the victim’s husband and children had gone to Togo to break the news to other family members.

The Public Affairs Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mrs Bola Ajao, who spoke for the acting Director, Rasak Musibau, said firefighters arrived as soon they received a distress call about the incident.

She said:

“We received the distress call around 2.59pm and the Abesan Fire Station, being the closest to the area, responded. The officials arrived at the scene around 3.06pm. By the time they got there, it was discovered that some of the victim’s relatives had lowered themselves into the well with ropes. They, however, could not bring her out. The fire service men recovered the woman’s corpse.

“We have been telling residents that no matter how little an emergency may appear, they should always get in touch with emergency workers. The person who tried to bring the deceased’s woman out was not trained in safety techniques and it is possible that it was in the process of dragging her with ropes that the situation aggravated.”

Kidnapper sleeps off in victim’s house after taking tramadol.

A suspected kidnapper, who took some dosage of tramadol before his planned operation, has slept off while in the house of the victim.

The Ondo State Police Command said the incident took place in Owo town , Ondo State, on Sunday, adding that as of Monday, the suspect was still sleeping due to the effect of the drug.

Parading the unconscious suspect at the command headquarters in Akure, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, explained that the suspect and his gang members had invaded a pharmacy in Owo to kidnap the owner.

Joseph said the three-man gang stormed the store with a gun, but the victim raised the alarm and escaped through the back door.

The PPRO said:

“The suspect and his gangs had stormed the house of the victim to kidnap him, but they fled after he raised an alarm. After failing to abduct their target, the hoodlums fled, but one of them stumbled because he was not active again due to the effect of the tramadol he had taken.

“The suspect has been sleeping for more than 24 hours after his arrest while a 400mg tablet of tramadol was found in his pocket. “

The police spokesman said the suspect would be charged to court after regaining consciousness.

An Edo Pastor of the Christ Chosen Church of God, Ngbeken Elvis,32, has been arrested by the police in State over the death of a married mother of four, who was his lover.

The Nation reports that the deceased died while carrying out an abortion for the pregnancy she had for Pastor Elvis whom she had been secretly dating for over six months.

The deceased whose husband is based abroad, resided in a house he built for her and their children in Egor community in the state.

She started seeing the pastor early this year and after many sexual encounters, she became pregnant. In order to save face and cover their shame, the couple resorted to terminating the pregnancy.

However, the abortion did not go as planned as she suffered serious complications. She was being rushed to another hospital for treatment when she gave up.

When interrogated, the clergyman who got married in 2016, denied knowing she was pregnant and had gone for an abortion.

He said his late lover used to give him N2000 which he used in running errands for her.

“I was just posted to Okhokhugbo branch when I got suspended because of my marriage. I know this Mama Sarah when she was ill. I prayed for her and she promised to reward me.

We started dating but the children were not aware. When one of her daughters wanted to raise suspicion after some neighbours questioned my continued visit to their house, she threatened to throw her out of the house.

She asked me to move into their house three months ago before I could get an apartment and I was staying there. I am an orphan. I didn’t plan to get into this mess. She didn’t tell me she was pregnant.

I was not aware she went to procure abortion. I am really ashamed. I prayed God to forgive me. I am now remorsed. She used to give me N1000 or N2000 to run errands for her.”

A Nigerian drug suspect arrested in Thailand, ensured that he did not present his arrest on a platter of gold when he led the Police in a wild chase after he got busted on Sunday.


Koh Samui policemen and soldiers had to chase down Chinedu Victor Okeke, who jumped out of a window of his rented house, climbed over the fence and dashed into a temple where he was finally pinned down.

Tourist and Immigration police together with some soldiers headed to a rented house in Bophut, after the Koh Samui district chief suspected the foreign tenant was selling drugs on the tourist island.

But 45-year-old Okeke wasn’t going to surrender without a chase. He quickly climbed out of the window, climbed over the fence it and ran into Wat Laem Suwannaram temple.

But the police and soldiers in hot pursuit caught him there and brought him back to the house.

A search found that the suspect had hidden 4 bags of powder cocaine, weighing 2.5 grams, behind an electrical switch. Within a box containing imported alcohol was hidden 12 bags holding 11.3 grams of cocaine cubes and 27 tubes of the same drug weighing 271.6 grams.

The suspect confessed that the cocaine was his and that he’d bought it from a Nigerian friend. He said he sold the drugs to both Thai and foreign tourists for 1,000-18,000 baht at various entertainment venues on the island.

A grieving father who thought his newborn dead baby who had been earlier buried actually died of natural cause, was shocked to find out his girlfriend had faked the pregnancy after he saw a doll buried inside his dead baby’s coffin.

Melvin Mendoza discovered the newborn baby he was grieving for had never even existed after he and his friends dug up the tiny white coffin and found a doll in it, instead of a human baby. His partner, Rosa Castellanos Diaz, had reportedly spent nine months pretending to be pregnant with twins.

It is reported that her actions were a bizarre attempt to keep her “wayward” partner by her side, although this has not been confirmed.

Last Friday morning, Rosa left her village home and took a bus to the Honduras’ capital Tegucigalpa, claiming she was heading for the city’s Escuela Hospital to give birth to her baby.

That night, she reportedly called Melvin, a member of the Honduran Armed Forces, to tell him the sad news that child had died while being delivered.

The grief-stricken father and his relatives put on a wake and awaited the arrival of his partner and the “dead child”.

Rosa reportedly arrived at noon the next day, carrying the coffin. However, she told loved ones they could not see the “baby” as the hospital had sealed the box and prohibited her from opening it.

The funeral took place at her local graveyard in El Coyolar, Honduras. Family and friends took turns to carry the “deceased twin’s” coffin before bidding an emotional farewell to them.

Rosa also told everyone that she had left the other twin being cared for in the hospital. But the next day, Melvin’s pals reportedly began to doubt Rosa’s story.

They expressed fears that Rosa had invented the story to convince Melvin not to leave her, so they decided to return to the graveyard to dig up the coffin with him. When they did, they found a plastic doll dressed up as a baby inside.

Shocking footage, shared on Twitter by shows the doll lying inside the open coffin by the side of the exhumed grave.

One, Ismael Mejia, told Honduras’ El Heraldo newspaper:

“The whole thing didn’t seem right. So in the night we went to the cemetery to dig it up. When we pulled out the box, to our surprise what we found inside was a doll, dressed up as if it were a child.

“We took the coffin to the police so they could see that we didn’t take the child out of the box and replace it with a doll.”

After discovering the alleged trick, Melvin reportedly decided not to press charges against Rosa.

Afro singer Femi Kuti and his sister Yeni have both called out one of their band members who absconded before a show in the United States of America.

The man identified as Aghedo Andrew was slated to perform with the band and every trace of him could not be located just at the point when he was utmost needed in the band.

Femi took to Twitter to narrate how bitter he was about the incident, but took time to praise other band members who held it down and ensured the show went smoothly.

The music producer with the intent to motivate his followers opened up that the first four nights he spent in Lagos was under the popular Ijora Bridge in the City.

He had come to Lagos in the year 1995 to continue his music hustle and he even had to work as a conductor to survive in the city that is termed City of The Hustlers.

The Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has been served impeachment notice by eight lawmakers of the state House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmakers who sat in the state’s Assembly complex on Monday, 30th July, 2018 gained access to the state assembly complex while the police barricaded further access to the house, Ortom’s aide has confirmed, Vanguard reports

According to Ortom’s spokesman, Tahav Agerzua, the lawmakers took over the Assembly complex to sit and pass the impeachment notice while the police blocked further access. Meanwhile, a detachment of heavily armed policemen have currently shutdown the Benue State House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, youths from Benue state have, in the early hours of Monday, as at 5:am, trooped en masse to block the Benue Assembly complex over what they claimed was plots by some politicians loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC, led Federal government to impeach Governor Samuel Ortom who has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Reports not yet very clear claim the security personnel are currently in a clash with the Benue youths over the alleged invasion of State’s Assembly complex as well as the planned plot to impeach the Governor.

Reports also claim the police team is firing tear gas to disperse the youths. Recall that Governor Ortom had given reasons as to why he dumped the APC to include that his people, the Benue state youths, had forced him to leave the party of cease to be their governor.

A man identified as Emeka has taken to his twitter timeline to narrate his bitter experience in the hands of fake SARS officers, whom he claimed wanted to extort him of N500,000.

According to the report given by the man on the social media platform, the men threatened to kill him and also rape his girlfriend if they didn't provide the ransom, because it already looked like a kidnapping incident.

Though, when he was queried by one of his followers on twitter if they were either fake or drunk SARS officers, he couldn't give a coherent answer. He simply stated that they were drunk and eventually took N40,000 from them before they zoomed off in their car.

He wrote:

Japanese company uses young ladies’ armpits as advertising space

A Japanese advertising company has come up with a unique way to get its clients’ products to the attention of the target audience, by placing advertisements on young ladies' armpits

The Wakino Ad Company, which recently began operations, has released photos on its website showing how this ad strategy could be used by recruitment portals, acting schools, detective agencies and more, reported Japanese website SoraNews24.

The ads come in various sizes and are in colour, with “armpit rentals” starting from about 10,000 yen (S$120) an hour.

Already, Wakino has snagged its first client in Japanese beauty treatment and dermatology chain.

Interestingly, the Wakino Ad Company itself is a sort of advertising, as it is owned by Liberta, a beauty products company that specializes in armpit beautifying products.

Interestingly, Wakino isn’t the first company to use live women as advertising billboards. Back in 2013, Absolute Territory PR made headlines for advertising on young women’s thighs.

Girls interested in having their thighs registered with Absolute Territory must be at least 18 years old, and also have a social media account connected to at least 20 other people. After choosing a sticker ad, they have to wear it for at least eight hours a day, or more, for a set period of time, in order to meet the conditions of the contract and receive payment.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has mentioned that he will only give his supports to any Nigerian who will turn the country’s fortune around for good.

He said this on Thursday when he received a former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

Turaki, who is a presidential aspirant, came with a 10-man delegation that included a former governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna.

Obasanjo reiterated that he would not rest until the fortunes of Nigeria are “turned around for good.”

He identified the dearth of “qualitative leadership” as one of the major challenges confronting Nigeria, adding that men of goodwill must not keep quiet in the face of misrule.

He then called for concerted efforts from the political class towards providing the country with better leadership.

He said:

“Let me say that what is happening here today or what you’re making to happen with your delegation particularly gladdens my heart.

“You are firming up and stabilising our democracy. Democracy is not a destination but a journey and there is no nation that can claim to have reached the final destination.

“It is good for us as a nation and our democracy. We have said a lot of things that we have identified about what we need to put right as a country. What do we lack? Why are we not where we should be?

“We are so divided today the way we have not been before. People are deprived socially and economically. But you know, I have never lost hope.

While speaking with journalists after the meeting, Turaki said he came to pay respect to the former president and also to intimate him with his presidential ambition in 2019.

He said the indivisibility of the country remained non-negotiable.

He also accused the All Progressives Congress-led administration of “incompetence” due to its “inability to resolve some of Nigeria’s many challenges.”

He said:

“The meeting has been a very fruitful one. We have discussed openly, honestly and frankly about the current situation in this country and like always, Baba was of tremendous guidance to us.

“Baba has spoken in his vintage way of speaking passionately about the situation in Nigeria.

“We believe that our indivisibility as one and united nation is given and it is non-negotiable. We feel that our unity is also non-negotiable.”

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has scolded his party members on their planned defection to the PDP and he said that there is no man of honor who will want to go back to his vomit.

Oshiomole's comment comes amidst rumors of Saraki, Dino Melaye, Aminu Tambuwal and many other APC chieftains, planning to defect to the opposition party.

The party National Chairman said this when he spokes with state house correpsondents after having a meeting in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Oshiomole also said he is in no way losing sleep over threats made by members of the Reformed-APC to leave the party.

“No, I am not losing sleep. I am sleeping very well. I still maintain that I don’t see any man of honour who with his eyes open left the PDP on the account of their gross mismanagement, abuse of the treasury and all of the crimes that the PDP committed; I don’t see them, whatever their irritations, that can be justifications, to return to that house. All we need to do is to play back their own tape about what the PDP represents and why they left. I still hold the view that you cannot vomit in the morning and convert it to lunch in the afternoon, if you have honour. That position still remains the same.

A pair of twins have been jailed after repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl over a period of months.

Steven and Stanley Muchemwa, aged 31, were given 14 and 15 year sentences respectively yesterday at Bolton Crown Court after a judge branded the abuse "particularly shocking".

The offences occurred at the twins' home in Dunsop Drive, Bolton, where both men raped her, usually in their bedroom and sometimes when other children were also sleeping in the same room.

During the course of the trial the girl's mother told Judge Graeme Smith that her world had "come crashing down around her" when she heard what had been happening.

The girl’s mother said she was “completely shocked” after her daughter revealed the ordeal to the head teacher at her school and “devastated” that she had trusted the men to take care of her.

She went on to say that there had been a “massive change” in the girl’s personality since the incidents, saying she had become “clingy” and was not sleeping well due to bad dreams.

The court heard that Steven first started touching the girl early in 2016 when she was just 10 years old, while the pair would go on to rape her in the school summer holidays after she had turned 11.

Giving evidence during the trial, the girl said that, when Steven first raped her, his brother Stanley had walked into the room while it was happening but had taken no action to stop it.

Both men had initially pleaded not guilty to the charges, although Steven would go on to change his plea to guilty before the trial began.

Prosecuting, Kathryn Johnson, said:

“Stanley had seen what his brother was doing. It was following that that Stanley started to rape her.”

Adding:

“He would tell her he was teaching her what to do for when she had a boyfriend.”

Ms Johnson went on to say that Stanley had told the girl she would get into trouble if she told anyone about what had been happening.

She told her head teacher in October 2016, in what Judge Smith described as a “brave decision”.

Ms Johnson recounted what the teacher found, saying the girl was in an “extremely distressed state” when she began to explain her experiences.

She added:

“Initially she wouldn’t explain why she was so upset. She told the headteacher she had been abused.

“Police and social services attended and spoke to her and her mother was contacted.”

Following a trial earlier this year, Stanley was found guilty of one count of sexual assault of a child under 13 and four counts of rape of a child under 13.

His brother Steven was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and seven counts of rape, both of a girl under 13.

He was also found guilty of one count of assault on a female, and a further count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Chief coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Salisu Yusuf has been caught on camera taking N360, 000 from fake football agents who wanted him to select two players for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

As the chief coach of the Super Eagles, Yusuf is in charge of the Super Eagles home-based side and an assistant to Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles.

He was in charge of the Super Eagles Team B to the 2017 WAFU and 2018 CHAN where they lost in both finals.

In an investigation led by Ghanaian journalists Anas Aremeyaw, reporters posing as football agents for some players approached Yusuf in September 2017 for a conversation about players’ selection.

During the conversation, they handed the Nigerian coach N360, 000 ($1000) and alluded to more cash incentives if he selects their players for CHAN 2018 which held in Morocco.

The clip has been made public by BBC African Eye.

“So if anything goes through and these players are able to get their contracts, you will get 15% of that contract,” one of the reporters posing as an agent told Yusuf to which he replied; “they will be in CHAN.”

The two players were eventually selected for CHAN 2018 although the investigation stated that there is no suggestion that the money given to Yusuf influenced the selection.

Although he told the reporters that team selection is based solely on performances, Yusuf, a top Nigerian coach will be facing the wrath of FIFA, CAF and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

A 38-year-old mother of three has been killed by her jealous lover in Benin-City, Edo State capital, after he allegedly found male condoms in the deceased’s handbag.

The victim, Gladys Okoh, a divorcee, was said to have been stabbed with a kitchen knife thrice in her stomach in her aged mother’s room by the killer lover, identified as Osaremwinda Omobude Idumwonyi, 46.

The incident occurred at No 13, Ehiyoboy Street, Off Aifuwa Street, Off Upper Sokponba Road, Benin-City, a few hours after the victim left her lover’s residence where she passed the night.

It was learnt that the victim and the killer lover’s residences were nearby buildings and that the suspect left his residence to commit the act.

He was alleged to have walked past the aged mother of the deceased who was sitting by the door to launch the attack and the old woman’s efforts to rescue her daughter, who screamed in pains during the attack, failed.

Meanwhile, the suspect is now in police net, cooling his heels at the Cell of the Edo State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Benin City.

Police sources disclosed that the suspect told the police that her deceased lover picked a kitchen knife to stab him when an argument ensued and that he (suspect) overpowered and killed her while defending himself.

It was learnt that the knife the suspect used in committing the crime was recovered from his kitchen by police investigators when he was arrested and a taken home for a search.

Spokesman for the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwanfor who confirmed the incident, said investigating was on.

A 20 year old female cultist who was arrested by the police in Lagos has made a shocking confession on how she used to kill members of rival cult groups and any other person for a fee of ₦10,000.

The 20-year old Mariam Abiola told reporters at a parade in Lagos on Monday, how she killed four persons wearing Hijab, Vanguard reports

While parading the suspect along with other members of her gang, the Lagos State police boss, Imohimi Edgal said the suspects belonged to the Eiye confraternity.

Narrating how she joined the cult group, Abiola, who claimed to be a secondary school drop-out, said:

“I ran away from my house in Lafenwa Abeokuta to Lagos, to look for work. I met one Mr. Sodiq when I got to Lagos. Mr. Sodiq took me to his house at Ilasamaja area of Lagos. He was the one that introduced me to the Eiye cult.”

“He took me to a herbalist, who gave me a black substance to eat. He told me that their work was about killing people. He gave me a gun and taught me how to shot. I learnt how to shoot by shooting on the wall. I shot on the wall three times before I learnt how to shoot. Brother Sodiq gave three of us guns and pictures of persons to kill. He trained three of us. Two boys and myself.”

Narrating how they killed their targets, Abiola said:

“I have killed four persons. Each time I want to go for the killing, I usually wear a white gown and a white veil (Hijab). Brother Sodiq usually showed us the target’s house. We go to the house at night. The two boys will scale the fence and open the gate for me. We go straight to the apartment and shoot at the target at close range.

None of our targets survived. I killed one guy at Fadeyi area of Lagos. Another one at Hassan area, one at Ajeh area. Each time we killed someone, brother Sodiq would pay me ₦10,000 but he would pay the others ₦20,000 each. I don’t feel bad after killing anyone because I see it as a job I am being paid for ”

Speaking on the arrest, Lagos State commissioner of police, CP Imohimi Edgal said:

“Parents should do more by monitoring their children. It is worrisome that her confession are startling, chronicling the number of killings. Apart from being an assassin, she was also an armourer for her gang.”

A dog owner in Genova, Italy, yesterday, took passengers by surprise on a bus, when he secured a seat for his dog on a spot where another passenger was supposed to sit.

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday raised alarm over aerial surveillance of the Government House, Ado-Ekiti by a police helicopter.

According to the governor, the police chopper has constituted danger to his personal safety, his family, workers and visitors to the Government House.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor described the development as “brazen show of naked force and abuse of power by the Federal Government.”

According to him, he sees no reason for the aerial surveillance of his official residence and office since the state governorship election is over.

He also accused the nation’s security forces of allowing themselves to be used to intimidate political opponents despite being funded with tax payers’ money. His statement in part reads

“They continue to fly helicopters over the Government House and Governor’s Office in a way that compromises the safety and well-being of residents and workers. The helicopter flies so low that it runs the risk of crashing into high-rise buildings and masts within the premises. The noise pollution this causes is enough irritation.

This brazen show of naked force and abuse of power is as ungodly as it is undemocratic. If the security forces belong to all Nigerians and not to President Muhammadu Buhari and APC, it should not be biased in this blatant manner. It is unprofessional of the security forces to allow themselves be this debased, running APC errands when they are funded with resources that belong to all of us.

They are obligated by the Constitution to be apolitical and not willing tools in the hands of the powers-that-be Once again, I say I will not be intimidated. I will stand on my feet until every injustice is upturned and the freedom and liberties of our people are restored. The thief runneth when no one pursueth. The Kogi State government has condemned the burning of four of Senator Dino Melaye's constituency projects in Lokoja, the state capital by some hoodlums.

Recall that yesterday, two of the secondary schools renovated by Dino Melaye to celebrate his 3rd year in the National Assembly, were vandalized and burnt on Tuesday night. Dino was meant to commission the projects yesterday Wednesday July 18th.

Reacting to the incident, the Director General, Media and Publicity to the state governor, Kingsley Fanwo who spoke on behalf of government during an assessment tour of the burnt facility, said the state government has directed security operatives to fish out the arsonists.

"Irrespective of who is doing the project, the fund is from the government. So whether it is the executive or legislative, such projects should rather be applauded and not destroyed", he said.

The state commissioner for Education, Mrs. Rosemary Osikoya who was amongst the government officials who visited the sites said government will not fold it's arms until the perpetrators were fished out.

"Exams are ongoing and these building is being used since January 2018. We expect that people will respect the sanctity of education. This act is masterminded and not accidental. The building were burnt including the chairs.

If not for some serving Corps members around who tried to put out the flame, it would have been worse than this. We appeal to everybody to collaborate with us in education and not use it as a melting point for political sabotage. This is a dastard act; the state's interest should be paramount rather than the individual political ego", she said.

Dino Melaye is yet to release an official statement reacting to the development. Dino has been on a running battle with the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

Two men who were reportedly twins have died in a motorcycle accident on their way back from their widowed mother's residence in Sango Otta, Ogun State.

The 31-year old twins were returning to their houses in Ijoko, a neighbouring community, when motorcycle they were on crashed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside.

The twins and the motorcycle rider, Wahab Lamidi, died on the spot.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the twins checked on their widowed mother after attending a family function in the area.

After spending some hours with their parent, they left for home around 9pm on the motorcycle which ran into the truck at Vulcanizer Bus-Stop.

The elder brother of the twins, Afeez Animashaun, said the incident happened on Sunday.

He said:

“They both came for the introduction of one of our family members and they went to visit our mother afterwards.

“They both left at the same time because they lived not too far from each other. They left around 9pm only for us to get a call an hour later that they were involved in an accident.

“We were told that while they were on their way, the motorcycle ran into a faulty stationary truck that failed to use the C-Caution sign. They and the rider died immediately.”

He explained that Taiwo’s wife and the deceased’s mother had been distraught since the incident happened, adding that the twins were very fond of each other.

The truck driver, Bisi Oluniyi, who was said to have been transporting cassava peels to a piggery in Oke-Aro, was subsequently arrested for not using a caution sign that could have averted the accident.

When the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, was contacted about the incident, he said he would find out about it and get back to our correspondent.

Drake and Uber driver in hot fight, calls Police on the singer

An Uber driver was none too pleased when Drake and his driver opened their doors onto his car. He consequently went ballistic on the duo and even went ahead to call the cops on them

The last two weeks have been incredible for Drake. Not only did he break records with the first week sales of his Scorpion album, his second-week numbers weren't too shabby either.

While we're sure a minor incident like last night's is an afterthought for one of the most popular celebrities in the world, he still got an earful and it was enough for him to turn around and see what on earth was going on.

While arriving at Delilah's in Los Angeles last night, Drake's driver may have opened his car door a little too abruptly as he accidentally dinged an Uber that was next to him.

Things like this happen and it's not worth it to sweat the small stuff. The Uber driver felt differently though as he must have recently got his whip painted, screaming out profanities at the driver and Drake as the Canadian sensation made his way into the hotspot.

"Fucking idiot" can be heard pretty clearly, causing Drake to stop in his tracks and see what all the commotion was about. As they are ever so reliable with capturing celebrities as they enter and exit L.A. clubs, TMZ caught everything on tape, even getting a "Bleep you paparazzi" for their efforts.

The driver went so far as to actually call the police to investigate but since dinging a car is not technically a crime, no reports were officially made.

Legendary Nigerian boxer, Jerry Okorodudu says he is dying of hunger over the non-payment of his 10 months’ salary by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Okorodudu, Nigeria’s boxer in the 1994 Los Angeles Olympic Games, U.S., says he is owed the salary arrears by the sports ministry without any explanation as he told the told News Agency of Nigeria that the situation had deprived him of providing for his family, adding that he had “resorted to begging in order to eat and feed his family’’.

It will be recalled that the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games bronze medallist had in 2016 gone cap in hands begging the same ministry to pay him 14 months’ salary arrears. The matter was later resolved and he got his salary arrears then.

“I have travelled to Abuja severally and also written letters to the ministry but nothing is forthcoming, all they do is to keep referring me to different people in the ministry. I am dying of hunger and can no longer cater for my family because my salary has not been paid in the last 10 months.

I have represented this country during my active years and should not be treated this way, this is bad. A similar thing happened in 2016 where I petitioned the ministry and the court ordered them to pay me the 14 months salaries they owed me as at then,'’ he said.

The former boxer, who also won two gold medals at the African Championship in 1982, lamented the treatment from the sports ministry in spite of his contributions and sacrifices for the country.

“My pensionable job in the ministry was changed to a contract; the Nigeria Boxing Federation has also sidelined me by removing me from every competition. I represented this country well as an athlete and a coach, but it is a pity that this is happening to me and other former sportsmen and women in the country,’’ he said.

The Tinder Murder

Back in May, a young man was abducted and murdered by his Tinder date along with two of her accomplices in India.

Now, in a new interview with Deepika Bhardwaj, an activist and documentary filmmaker, Priya Seth, 27, the main accused has revealed the chilling details of the abduction and murder of 27-year-old Dushyant Sharma.

According to her, she needed money but the victim faked being a rich person so she killed him. Priya who was unremorseful in the interview said she and her accomplices, Dikshant and Lakshya smothered him with a pillow, cut his throat before stuffing his body in a suitcase and dumping his body along the Jaipur-Delhi highway.

“He (Dushyant) told me he was very rich and I was living in with Dikshant (the other accused in the case) and he had a debt of 21 lakhs. He was looking for someone to get that money from. So, we made this plan together that we will kidnap someone, ask for a ransom and then kill that person,” said Priya.

It was also learned that the victim's father transferred some money into their account, but Priya and her gang later went ahead and killed him.

When she was asked why she killed Dushyant even when his father transferred some money into their account, Priya says in a jiffy: “We killed him even before we got the money.”

Revealing chilling details how they carried out the murder, she said:

“First Dikshant strangled him. He survived. Then, Lakshya (another accused in the case) smothered him with a pillow. He became unconscious but still didn’t die. Dikshant then asked me to get a knife and slit his throat. He died,” said Priya without a single sign of remorse on her face.

However, the other two accomplices contradicted her claim and said that she stabbed the deceased first.

Priya Seth also revealed in the interview that she was into an escort service, through which she used to defraud people. She claimed that she duped more than 1000 men using the tactic for 6-7 years.
