Most of the people talking about JFK, Heathrow, Oliver Tambo etc are people who havent been to these airports before. 2006 - Oliver Tambo airport was as bad as the remodelled airport - it was refurbished before the World Cup and what's the talk about it. There's no way you wont do business with Govt, if u are talking of Nigeria. Govt is the biggest spender in this economy, and I dont really see how you can do without advancing to do business with the Govt. Just give introduction, definition, objectives and the expectation of what my proposed project will achieve. At the end, I will get their interests, worked on their psyche....... and i wld request their invitation to come and do need analysis FREE. I tell you, in most cases I av been called...usually I win some, and I loose some. Thats how it works sometimes.

You can't compare all those you mentioned to google maps in accuracy especially as it pertains to the streets around the world!

The problem with Nigerians is the kind of maps we have here is still rudimentary at best, but in other part of the world, their lives depend on it, after phone calls, sms and social media, the next most used app is MAPS!
And that's why there is a huge outcry when Apple removed google maps from ios6!

Off course I read all. Navteq, Tele Atlas, etc supply maps to the same google. As per Nigeria maps, you obviously havent been following the trend. The same companies - Tele Atlas, Navteq, Google etc source Nigeria maps from my company 3D Technologies. We have mapped Nigeria and popped it on Garmin Navigation systems even well before Google entered the market. The entire maps on nokia phones for Nigeria came from our company, so, whats rudimentary about Nigeria maps?

Go online and see http://www.ceaser-web.com and many more.

Like I said, no big deal with google maps.

Crowd sourcing, which Google mostly rely on, is at best very in accurate for other countries, like Nigeria. The Google map maker is open to the public to input map features, but these are not published until some moderators approve the entries, and these moderators are non Nigerians and far away from Nigeria. Most times you make entries, the moderator write them off as wrong, so, how do you deal with that? Go to Google maps and see a few areas in Abuja alone and you will be amazed how in accurate the maps are.

We speak out of experience and there is no point throwing bad water when we talk from first hand experience.
