Politics / Re: Stop Criticising Us, PDP Warns Buhari by werepeLeri: 4:44pm On Sep 02, 2012
Aigbofa: What arrant nonsense. Buhari is the leader of a party trying to replace PDP. What should he do? Praise Jonathan and his party all day? And on what basis will he then go to the Nigerian people and say vote for me?

PDP appears to be a party of whiners. I think Buhari is even kind to this unbelievably inept government.

Yes Yes Yes - let him keep inciting violence and use it to tell the people to vote for him. Why doesnt he make such violent and inciteful statements in the south or any other part of the country. No wonder El Rufai labelled him as an un electable candidate.

I guess you want PDP to keep quiet without countering all the CPC warlord accusations and criticisms.
Nairaland / General / Re: 29 Killed In Potiskum-Kano Road Accident by werepeLeri: 8:09pm On Sep 01, 2012
juman:

The blame goes to the government.

No proper monitoring of the road users was the main cause of accident, there are always overloading and reckless driving because the road are good and the cities are far apart and there is little check and balance on the roads.

I remember speeding of over 140km/hr are always commonplace in the north. One day I travelled from Wukari to Jalingo, the driver speed was over 190km/hr.

how else should government monitor the road users? By appointing people to sit on the expressway while you moan and cry that cost of governance is too high?

Carmall: Road accident is now competing with boko haram...cos thanks to God and jtf boko haram has not been able to kill up to that in recent time.
Government should stand up to their responsibilities, make sure the roads are good, make some laws to checkmate reckless driving...the first responsibility of a government is to safaguard the life of it citizen.

Are there no such laws already? Or you mean Government should start driving for reckless drivers? Until government drum suck laws to people before people will use their senses and know the repercussions of reckless driving?

I wont be surprised if the two buses are those of 'PEACE' mass transit, their drivers drive so recklessly it will be so easy to make many rest in 'peace',you need to see for yourself..RIP to the dead and quick recovary to the injured.

Peace Mass Transit dont go to that part of Nigeria. Whats wrong with you?

Kano - Wudi - Dutse - Ja'maare - Azare - Potiskum - Maiduguri road is one of the roads being dualised by the government - it is a fairly good road, straight and prone to accidents due to over speeding on the part of drivers. If it is a bad road, why will they over speed?

You are perfectly right and what he ( el- Rufai) said about Jonathan's government will also come to pass. Nigerians, including the bigots and the haters, will recall his alerts in hind sight.

and what did he say? The man with double mouth who once said Buhari is not electable who is now touting the same Buhari as the best Presidential candidate for Nigeria.

LOL. Prove first that he is not. So because he lives in a "modest" four bedroom duplex means?

duni04: We shouldn't always be in a haste to compare what goes on in Nigeria with what goes on in other countries, and also the fact that we have crowded buses and trains in more developed countries doesn't mean its 'normal' or we should accept it as a norm. I'm sure these developed countries we're always very quick to compare ourselves with are already mapping out ways to make rush hour traffic more convenient and efficient while we're here accepting that its a norm. In a few years time, after these countries would have thought out and implemented ways of improving their transport system, we'll be here alone with our 'norm'. Lets also seek out ways of improving our transport system and making it convenient and inexpensive to commuters.

LOL. There is nothing anyone anywhere can do about rush hour traffic - take it .

I keep wondering why this obsession of comparing NairaLand and Facebook. Do they serve the same purpose? How many people outside Nigeria know about NairaLand? Facebook is a global phenomenon, is NairaLand such?

Where is the proof that 20% of Nigerians internet users are on NairaLand?

Sarauniya: Just call a spade a spade. El-rufai was the best thing to happen to abuja. Love him or hate him, he got the job done! Ever since he left, its been one idiot after the other. El rufai made abuja what it is and he had amazing vision. Its sad that honest men don't get far in Nigeria.

Yeah right - and became a billionaire in the process.

miky: i thought they said elrufai was bad and corrupted..

No he is not - mtcheeewwww . He spent billions buying those London taxis given out to people on hire purchase without adequate provision for maintainance. So, who do you blame for it? GEJ?

I however disagree with the street lights and roads signs issue. Most part of Abuja comes alive at night which actually brings out the beauty of the roads and the road signs are there, showing street names and directions to different parts of town.

Lately, I notice most Traffic lights on Ahmadu Bello Way have been revived and working fine - but then, you see erring drivers speeding past red lights like if they have nine lives like the cat.

Who do you blame for bringing in El rufai buses and taxis without proper provision for maintainance? I guess they will say its GEJ?

Claiming they never used generators in his house in enugu, enugu in which country if I may ask? @thelastpope I understand ur despair, some people can never see good, don't just argue with them, they will just bring you to their level and beat you with experience. has power improved in naija? Yes, can it be better? Yes, but it won't stop me from acknowledging that we are moving in the right direction. And pls you guys should spare us the gist that tokyo airport uses almost the same amount of power, should we not work towards a better power supply because of that? Should we give up because 5000mw is wat some cities alone consume?no.

Dont just bother with them.

Godman_n: Why don't we have smart people in this country?

Why can't you guys ask questions on why the power ministry has become interesting for GEJ?

Why have we failed to understand this man's personality?

Why didn't GEJ take over the Security Ministry or the Petroleum Ministry with all the troubles in those ministry?

GEJ is taking over the Power Ministry because he has seen some improvement on ground and wants to take the glory. From what I have inferred from this man's personality, he is an opportunist, a schemer of the highest order.

Let leave him to it and still judge him based on his performance.

I state without doubts that the achievement recorded on the ministry will continue for the near future, but will starts to go back to the former state in a years time. This Ministry will certainly expose GEJ for who he is.

His supporters who think we have personal hatred for him should please not this. Watch him with the Power Ministry. See how his incompetency will ruin all the good works by Nnaji. in the next one year.

I want to stake my in

LOL - all these rantings based on a story that has been denied by the Presidency. There is nothing like GEJ taking over the power ministry. Chei. Na wa for people with little brains sha.

I have never seen any one this blind. When I first wrote my post there was no Cynthia post on this forum; I guest you never "saw" that. So there are Psycho clinics in Yaba? Granted that, I, who live in Jos have no idea that we have any here how am I to know that there are any in Yaba? Then again, very few Lagosians bother to know where the Psycho wards are...unless perhaps they are regular visitors, just like you. So I guess, not only have you now revealed the one in Lagos to me, but I pretty sure you will soon send me the address where the one in Jos is!

Looks to me you are Cynthia's lover.

Inglorious bastard! So if my post is irrelevant how come you read it? You have no idea how this forum works. At the time I posted my comments there was no thread concerning the Cynthia's case on Naira Land and this was the closest criminal post to it, and I did not want to start a new thread. I didn't want to mention this fact before but seeing how blind you are, I have no choice. To top it all you wrote, and I quote: Don,t you still see, you blind fool, how can I go to Yaba if I live in Jos? Besides when i wrote my post the news had not yet broken that the criminals had been charged to court.
You have proven to be Myopic. Your attitude on this forum has shown, without any doubt, that your are either an incompetent Policeman or one of those who benefits by having contracts with the police. To defend the police without reservations, as you have done wholeheartedly on this forum, is perfectly unacceptable. The Police as I have said should have done better much earlier in this case.
You had better apologize to me and other forum members for your silly comments here.

You are indeed silly. Oh pardon me- u live in Jos? LOL.

The entire NairaLand is full of the cynthia case, if you are not a lazy crocodile, you would have searched and see and post in the right place.

I still maintain you go to Yaba, but this time, the Yaba psychiatric hospital where they look after people like you. LOL.

Nnaji said he had met with the president Tuesday afternoon, during which he (president) informed him (Nnaji) that he was using his company as a proxy to buy shares on behalf of the president in Afam power station through the privatisation process.
