Oops... That's really bad... ....am I the only one who thinks their Nation should cleanse themselves with SALT and WATER... ...then later try our NANO SILVER (pesticide) ![]() ... Quips aside... I hope they recover from this ...likewise Guinea and S. Leone |
This na strong matter ohhh... OP, you sure dey no be ...jokes aside... But... What if its an expensive prank?? - if it is, you are in good faith;; if it isn't, you are quite unlucky and you have my heartfelt condolences bro... Please turn off your social networks lest you write things you don't wanna write... It's painful!!! Take a hike, go feed yourself good food... She's NOT in your league. . .... Appreciate her for telling you the truth sha.... But advice her when you feel better. She seems to have a different mentality to life as compared with yours. You'll get over it... |

asalimpo:Oga, calm down..... I thought my memory had begun to deceive me.... But I doubt, the quoted are from Wikipedia (Link below) "In the first five years, Gates personally reviewed every line of code the company shipped, and often rewrote parts of it as he saw fit." ..... Within the first five years, the COMPANY's (not just Windows) code must have exponentially grown and covered so many complex domains... That's not all ohhh "Gates devised an algorithm for pancake sorting as a solution to one of a series of unsolved problems presented in a combinatorics.... Gates's solution held the record as the fastest version for over thirty years; its successor is faster by only one percent." Please help me further 'unconfuse' my point... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates |
there's no quantitative basis for this list... So its just opinion based... @all of you saying Bill Gates doesn't deserve to be on this, I think your opinions doesn't deserve to be considered meaningful... ...#the guy saying people don't use Windows OS as much outside the enterprise market should be flogged with Koboko! By the way, I have been primarily using Linux ..about 5 years. |
Anders Hejlsberg ... I think that man deserves to be on the list. He is the creator of C#, Delphi, Typescript and I think Turbo Pascal. And a Technical Fellow at Microsoft.: That's a title akin to an Emeritus in Academia. |
Are you sure its only women? I've met a few who wants at most 3. Anyway... I am looking forward to 5 children in my marriage:-).. |
Javanian:That's from a biased angle... . . See.. That's the more reason to love C++.. ... Some think its a low level, some, middle, others high... At least it models an abstract machine just enough to accommodate almost every program's needs.Scientific computing is multidisciplinary... And the CPUs aren't getting faster by clock rates... Rather, by Logical cores and multithreading capacity.... Hence, its now about parallelism... And believe me, not many algorithms and computationally intensive routines can be paralleled.... That's where the next breakthrough is, concurrency! So, whether C++ or FORTRAN, .... Concurrency counts. Ofcause the OS task scheduler and language support runtimes matter... C++ would suit large scientific applications without really sacrificing speed in my opinion..... |
Nice post.... FORTRAN's grammar allows more aggressive optimizations and vectorization than any other language I know of... For some domain, it boils down to optimizers.... . . . Python's scipy is what is universally preferred for Academic projects...... C++ is the apparent choice of computationally intensive apps like Maya, Cenima4D, Adobe AE, PS... etc.. Autodesk guys... etc.. |
Javanian: Fortran: Anyone who thinks FORTRAN is some ancient archaic language is speaking out of nothing but sheer ignorance. Lauded by many as the numero uno of Programming Languages in Scientific Computation combined with its amazing speed... Fixed ...... :-P |

I first crushed on her 11yrs ago when we meet in secondary school. Started loving her 6years ago while leaving secondary school. Finally summoned the courage to tell her 2weeks ago. And if she gives me a chance, I am ready to make a potential lifelong commitment!! We are separated by a distance of 500Km... She needs time to absorb that suprise, she hasnt said anything... If she tells me "NO", that would may set me back by some years!! If "YES", that would accelerate both of us. |
From this thread that made Frontpage on 5th August, 2014. . . https://www.nairaland.com/1842378/10-tough-questions-google-apple I want this programming section to answer one of the questions. (There shall be rewards for some answers... but everyone, beginners to veterans, should at least try it for the fun of it) How do you determine the collision of two moving spheres in 3D space? (meet at least any 2 of these requirements, ) 1. Produce the mathematical equation(s)/expression for a possible solution. 2. Produce an algorithmic implementation of your solution. preferably in Pseudocode 3. Implement the algorithm in any language of your choice. (also make a testable program). 4. Include a "Proof of Correctness" of your algorithm NOTE: Try and make your solution scalable (that is, conform to ANY 'best/industry practices' in Software Development) because I will surely improve to the question. |:ENJOY:| Regards, Timothy |
Are you sure you know exactly what you want to do? And are you sure you are ready to do it? Its called "Symbolic Differentiation" or Automatic Differentiation. Its complex and orders of magnitude much harder than it seems. Your biggest problems includes: * Input parsing * Data Structure and Abstraction * Chaining of Operation Graph(Forward and Rervese accumulation) * Output formatting In simple implementation, you basicall imbue your expressions into an Accumulation tree... (Chain rule or Function of a function) ....And you apply appropriate operation from depest node to root... First try making a calculator.... Learn parsing and solving expressions using stacks and then decision/operation trees... http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0377042700004222?np=y and http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_differentiation There are programming libraries that will to certain extent, cushion the pain of implementing an Automatic Differentiating program... Check out one of the CAS Software I use in my professional field... Maxima... It does a hell of symbolic calculus and lots of symbolic/precise maths.... http://maxima.sourceforge.net I hope you know some Numerical Methods...?? Numeric methods are better industrially suited on computers... due to insane vectorized speeds on cache lines.... Symbolic is more applicable to academia/technical writing... I dunno your experience level with Programming, Computing and Undergraduate Maths ....but I hope I made little sense?? |

Ajibel: After reading whiztim's post, i just thought of this- An app where u can check up ur symptoms of brewing illness and then get possible diagnosis/medication for it. Saves u d hassle of pharmaceutical or hospital visits. Pharmacies can even list the drugs they have and their purchase price and you can "order" for itMaybe sarcasm wouldn't work... Try a better idea... ![]() |
consideration for health... A trival App but UI/UX must be exceptional! Many people that purchase android phones daily, lack or may have forgotten some basic health science knowledge... +Such as Balanced diet +types of foods and their strengths in the body etc. Such app should provide offline medical and first aid knowledge... To how you should apply pressure to gunshot injuries, knife, etc when you hurt your finger nails, etc. And many more I could add I THINK I have a few project ideas for Android programmers that MAY help... |
Damnn!! See small oportunity to try my luck ohh! Unfortunately, I was made to understand that the MTN NextApps store is for Android. Which requires Java Apps! *heads back to learning Arabic ![]() Fruitlessly checked the internet for positive encouragement to Android's NDK... But negetive... And I can't throw huge money into xamarin. i wish they considered Microsoft Windows Phone.... Well, what more can I say...? |

Very funny! |
Nice idea.... It can definitely work! Infact, I was just thinking of the future of Computer Contests... That is Artificial intelligence... Where we write programs that compete with each other... (Its in existence but not so popular) Infact starting with a simple Tick-Tac-Toe game" BACK-TO-THREAD Technically, with enough motivation, I am in! Though, I think I prefer the method of submitting the source code to server for Automatic Compilation, running and judging. For a start, my suggestion is this:: 1. make use of an Online Judge That provides customization of contests... The best I know of so far is by a Google staff Ahmed Aly http://ahmed-aly.com/ OR get a small VPS @ Linode.com... And we can write a full-fledged Contest automation tool in Python.... We design a basic contest portal that communes with the contest-server... And then registered and approved users to submit there::: (If someone pays for the VPS and manages it... With enough motivation, we @ Nairaland could HOPEFULLY, FREELY start developing such server software from scratch)... though, it would take SEVERAL months..... Cause WE HAVE a HELL of DIFFERENT JOBS, RESPONSIBILITIES and SPARE time. In my former PC, I wrote a VERY basic one in Python before... It passes your code to g++ for compilation, Just fires up your program "./a.out", Kicks off a Microsecond precision timer... Then spuriously feed inputs from a file to your console program via stdin.... And has another handle sapping off stdout to a list of string... When Your program returns an exit 0 status, it compares the the REQUIRED OUTPUT file to your outputs... and returns the execution time and The point of output mismatch. The First Option is our fastest catch to this!... Theres alot to worry with as usual... the first is pushing in funds... |
BTW. @amhatu I love your house model. Its pretty nice!! |
wow. Interesting! I never knew there was a Blender3D user here.... Good one @Amhatu. I have been hobbying around with Blender3D for a couple of years since the 2.4x series. though became more addicted to it after migration to Python 3x... And the revamped UI in 2.5x Though I am a down to earth Blender3D 'hobbyist'... I majorly use Blender3D for Modelling and Rigging Mechanical related Designs... even in one of my professional line...(Mechanical Engineering) I am 'heavilly' constrained by time... But I am also a programmer... And I recently started going through the Python API and some simple addons esp the dxf import addon... cause I want to ease the work of translating vertices and edges on 2D 3rd Angle projections from an AutoDesk .dxf file to 3D planes... I hope to start developing that Add-on gracefully by next year. #++++# BTW... You mentioned somewhere here that Cycles gives better rendering results for interior rendering.... Except if its my lighting and texturing skills... For me, Luxreder tends to be a bit more powerful in interior realism... I primarily use Cycles. And I have to say that Cycles is superb at virtually everything. And its so much enjoyable if you have any recent EXTREMELY powerful CUDA or OpenCL capable GPU. |
I think I know one or two in this regards... Theres A HELL of statistics involved |
