I remain anti APC since 2013 when that coven was formed but for most part of Buhari's 8ys of disastrous adminstration, opposition politics took a nose dive mainly due to IPOB well poisoning.

Instead of factual critiscm based on empirical evidence as the basis of opposition politics, IPOB louts turned the opposition to a joke with their hair brained conspiracy bullshit.

Now we are seeing same IPOB louts under the obidunce banner even doing far worse opposition politics if you want to call it opposition politics at that for their actions and utterances so far shoe that they prefer to burn down the country than have another candidate from the last election occupy Aso Rock.

They have called for treason by demanding a military coup . Insulted the judiciary and have been looking for any movement whatsoever to hijack and instigate anarchy and chaos.

This isn't opposition politics but full blown bad politics .

Let me Educate you, life expectancy in USA is about 78yrs and that of Nigeria is about 52yrs.

What this mean that a 75yrs old American is younger and stronger than 50yrs old Nigerian.

So never you compare Biden vs Tinubu

Politics / The Gruesome Murder Of Ezeagu/udi Constituents At Ugwu Di Nso, Enugu State by whoawa(m): 3:19am On Jul 13, 2023
THE GRUESOME MURDER OF OUR CONSTITUENTS AT UGWU DI NSO EKE AND THE NEED TO INVESTIGATE IT, WAS TODAY PRESENTED ON THE FLOOR OF THE NIGERIA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES BY RT HON SUNDAY CYRICUS UMEHA, MEMBER REPRESENTING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF EZEAGU/UDI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

In a representative capacity expected of a committed and goal-oriented Representative, the member representing Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, National Assembly Abuja, Rt. Hon (Barr) Sunday Cyriacus Umeha presented a motion on the floor of the green chambers titled the Need to Investigate the Gruesome Murder of Nigerians by Nigerian Soldiers in Enugu State.

Indeed the need to investigate this callous and wicked killing of indigenes of Enugu by bloodthirsty soldiers whose primary duty is the protection of lives and properties, cannot be overemphasized.

Let it be recalled that on 29th June 2023 around 7 pm, some local vigilantes licensed and operating under the Enugu State Neighborhood Security Guards while responding to a distress call of banditry and kidnapping, were shot dead at close range together with some passer-by, by soldiers of the Nigerian Army 82 Division Enugu at Ugwu Di Nso junction, Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The soldiers claimed that the victims were the actual kidnappers even when the vigilantes wore their traditional security uniforms and also showed their identification cards.

Aside from those that died instantly at the scene of the shooting and those that died later, a lot of vigilantes and some defenseless civilians are still lying critically ill at the hospitals as a result of these callous attacks and these casualty numbers would have been higher if not the intervention of the Nigerian police who also arrived at the scene of the shooting as a result of the same distress call and stopped the soldiers from further shootings.

It is quite disheartening and disturbing that notwithstanding the obvious knowledge of the existence of these local security outfits established primarily to complement the military and para-military and checkmate the activities of the bandits and kidnappers in the State, and also the constant interactions between these two security outfits for maximum cooperation, the Nigerian soldiers without any provocation decided to waste the lives of innocent Nigerians even when due and proper identifications took place.

That is why the Honourable member representing the good people of Ezeagu and Udi Federal Constituency visited the injured victims at the hospitals and the families of the deceased for support and consolation and this visit was well appreciated by Dr. Uba Anichebe, Chairman Eke Progressive Forum, and Chief Dr. Emeka Udeh, Executive Director Mobilization who expressed their appreciation for the assistance and intervention from Rt. Hon (Barr) Sunday Cyriacus Umeha

So in furtherance to this assistance and intervention and to prevent future reoccurrence, he deemed it expedient to bring the Motion as quickly as possible, and that Motion was duly taken today.

The House in its wisdom approved the motion and granted the prayers as requested by Hon Umeha.

This prompt intervention by way of a timely Motion gives a little picture of the worthy representation that the honorable member is lining up for his beloved Constituents.

Time will indeed unveil more packages ahead. So all hands should be on Deck to help him move Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency to higher levels.

Politics / Re: Abia State Was Not Created In 2015 by whoawa(m): 2:29pm On Jun 17, 2023
premiumnews12:
Dear Governor Alex Otti,

ABIA STATE WAS NOT CREATED IN 2015

Anyone who read the Press Release signed by officials of the Otti administration yesterday wherein they indiscriminately bandied financial records will think that Abia State was created in 2015 and that Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is the first Governor ever to preside over the affairs of the State.

The impression created by that release is that Ikpeazu left debts of over 191 Billion Naira!

That is not correct.

The figures they threw around yesterday represents the total debt stock of Abia State, some of which were inherited by the State when it was created in 1991.

When the East Central State was carved out of the Eastern region in the 1960s, the then new state inherited assets and liabilities, including loans.
Same thing happened when Imo State was carved out of the then East Central State, then down to the time Abia was created from Imo.

Again, some components of the loan stock represents loans and advances whose repayment periods fall outside the entirety of the maximum period Otti can spend as Governor.
There are loans inherited by the Ikpeazu administration whose repayment periods are way beyond the tenure of the Ikpeazu administration.
Part of what they described as Domestic Debts left by the Ikpeazu administration include the interventions made by the Federal Government during the period of recession. Things like bailout funds and those other funds given to every state and whose repayment won't even mature under Otti, assuming he spends 8 years as Governor.

It is therefore disingenuous for Governor Otti to create a false impression of the financials of the State.
If they wanted to be honest with the records, they could have segmented the financial records to show how much was the debt stock of the State in 2015 and how much it is today.
For instance, gratuities were paid last in Abia State in 2003. All retirees who left the public service from 2004 till date are owed gratuities. Was Ikpeazu Governor by 2004? Indeed, the only attempt made since 2004 to pay any form of gratuities was by the Ikpeazu administration in his first tenure.

Again, there is nothing magical about the loan stock of Abia State. Some of these figures multiply by exchange rate differentials. I will explain.
If a loan of Two Million Dollars was taken say in 2010 when the exchange rate was about 150 Naira to a dollar, and such loan will become due for repayment in 2023, in calculating the current value of the loan, it will now be calculated using the current exchange rate of over 700 Naira to the Dollar. Naturally, the amount due for repayment will not become so massive that those hearing it for the first time won't understand thr dynamics.
Once a loan is dollar denominated, exchange rate volatility will impact on it and this situation is beyond the control of a State Government. Otti, the banker knows these things.
Besides, there are states in this country whose total loan stocks are more than 100% higher than ours, and these includes the very very rich states.

Finally, Otti, as a banker and economist knows that loans are part of the workings of an economic system. No economy can run effectively without some form of financial support.
Otti himself will take loans. He said so himself. Indeed, he would have taken loans by now if not that the Debt Management Office of the Federal Government has a policy of not approving loans by State Government for the purpose of salary payment.

Meanwhile, the clock is ticking away and his own salary liabilities are piling up gradually.

Dear Governor Sir, propaganda doesn't pay salaries nor build roads.

Thank you Sir.

You should bury your Head in shame

Are you aware of the inter-African trade that Nigeria is supposed to champion yet we locked our borders against African nations yet import from Europe, Asia and America?

Now before you want to type nonsense or insult for cheap LIKES on your post, read carefully and think deeply about these points I would post.

Peter obi ambition will cause a lot of blood shed: in 2015 Jonathan said his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. He didn't just say that. He knew what played out and decided you know what, let him just accept to avoid another civil war. Jonathan knew it was tribe vs tribe not because his government was bad. Now to those that will disagree ask yourself why in 2019 after all the disaster buhari caused and all the crying by Nigerians he still retained power?

Anyway, believe it or not Peter obi becoming the president of Nigeria will cause a lot of blood shed. So y'all think if tinubu and atiku lose this election to Peter obi, they and their supporters especially those directly close to them eating "free money" given to them by their principals will just accept everything in good faith, go back and allow peace reign? If you think this is what will happen then your temperature needs to be checked. They will make the country ungovernable for him the same way they did to Jonathan and people lost their lives.......just because the then opposition party APC wanted PDP to be unpopular to FOOLISH Nigerians who didn't know better!

Releasing Nnamdi kanu: This particular one will be bad for Peter obi because whatever decision he takes there will be problems. If he releases Nnamdi kanu, yorubas and hausas will protest that he wants biafra and trust me he won't even go for second term.

Also, If he doesn't release Nnamdi kanu his fellow igbo people will say he didn't release "his brother" and that will cause problems for him, his family and generations to come.

Ruin igbo people chance in the future: Let me ask you, if you have ever wanted something and begged those who can allow you to do that thing for long, finally they now give you the chance and it goes very bad, do you think you will be given another chance? I doubt it. Since peter obi is not running for president in the ruling party or the main opposition party or even a party with structure. If he miraculously gets to be president like I said before they will make the country ungovernable for him and If the igbos in years to come say they want to be president again, yorubas and hausa will say when their brother Peter obi was president he messed up the country therefore no way.

In conclusion

I want to say that in a sane country looking at the top people that wants to be president, Peter obi looks like he can do the job better or at least stop the madness that is going on in that country but like I keep saying...

Nigeria is not destined to be great at least not in our life time. (I can hear some of you saying God forbid but the truth is saying that won't change anything)

How do you explain yoruba and hausa people who went to school to PhD level and even abroad sef telling you (because of hatred and tribalism) that tinubu and atiku will do a better job than Peter obi. Even the people here on Nairaland supporting those two ahead of Peter obi you think they don't know Peter obi is better? They do but hatred has eaten deep into them. Those are signs that the country is not getting better anytime soon.

Politics / Re: Why Party Structure Is Not Needed To Win Election In Nigeria by whoawa(m): 10:18am On Dec 30, 2022
2023 Election is saddle with so much responsibility to a level that having a structure or belonging to a political party is of no importance to gain a vote.

In politics we consider 3 type of voters
1) The Supporters: this type of people will vote for you against all odds

2) The opposition: Even if you are a God in a human form, dey will oppose ur candidature

3) The Undecided: this people apolitical, dey are easily influence with what dey hear and see about a candidate, The good thing about the Undecided is that dey are more in population that the other two combined. Once majority of them votes for you, then you have won the election.

2023 Election is very peculiar because the undecided have seen shegge within the last 7yrs and have heard alot about Peter Obi credibility and his rescue mission.

Today am not only a PDP member but a political officer holder.

But am not going to vote for PDP during this election bcoz our presidential candidate lack the temerity to rescue Nigeria as it's now.

Come February 25th , Obi has my Vote and that of majority of the Undecided.

Which part of the law, pls quote it

The electoral act empower a candidate to to decamp to other party once there is a crisis in the party. And this crises are easily created to enable such decamps to occur.
