Car TalkStallion To Start Volkswagen Vehicles Production In Nigeria by whoawa(op): 7:10pm On Dec 15, 2014
Stallion to start Volkswagen vehicles production in Nigeria

More than 20 years after the departure of Volkswagen from Nigeria due to inactivity, the German automaker is staging a return to the country.

This follows the signing of an agreement between Volkswagen Group and Stallion Group to establish a vehicle assembly plant in Nigeria next year.

The collapse of the joint venture between the German company and the Federal Government had led to the closure of their manufacturing facility in Lagos and the subsequent sale of government shares to the Stallion Group.

Stallion said in a statement on Sunday that its collaboration with the Volkswagen Group would result in the establishment of a local assembly for Volkswagen brands in Nigeria.

It said the development was the fallout of the new automotive policy introduced in by the Federal Government to encourage local production of vehicles.

It described the Volkswagen Group as one of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers and the largest automaker in Europe.

The Chairman of Stallion, Mr. Sunil Vaswani, was quoted as saying, “This is a proud moment for Stallion in partnering a world-leading global brand like Volkswagen.”

According to him, the Stallion is fully committed to achieving the objectives of establishing assembly operations in Nigeria, and expanding into other aspects of the automotive industry value chain.

Sunil reaffirmed his commitment to working with the Nigerian government to create jobs and attracting foreign investment as a means of growing the economy.

The statement also quoted the Executive Director of Sales, Middle East and Africa at Volkswagen, Dr. Jan Utermarck, as saying, “Volkswagen is on a constant global search for market and sales potential. Nigeria is the largest automotive market in the Sub-Saharan region; hence, we appreciate the fact that we have found a professional partner in Stallion to launch a local vehicle assembly in Lagos starting in 2015.”

Stallion said it would assemble the Jetta, Volkswagen CC, and Amarok models during the initial phase, followed by the Passat, Tiguan and other models in subsequent phases.

EducationRe: Why Do We Go To School? by whoawa(m): 1:47pm On Sep 30, 2014
As a young boy after my SSCE, I didn't know why people go to school until problem of getting admission hit me bad.

Both of my parents are senior staff at NNAMDI AZIKWE UNI, but dey couldn't secure admission for me due to one problem or another for 3yrs

To make the story short a friend advised me to apply for jamb poly, as God may have it i was offered admission to study COMPUTER ENGINEERING at federal polytechnic OKO.

A night to school resumption as I was parking my luggages my father came to me and gave me this pieces of advice

The aim of going to is ......
1) To achieve success in Education (u don't need to be the best in the class but try get a good grade)

2)To make good friends (good friends helps a lot after school in many ways both in getting information and contact)

3) That success is in the student not at institution (whether college of Education, poly or university u can be whatever u want to be)

Believe me the above 3 has helped me a lot, that is why I went to school
RomanceRe: 13 Advantages Of Virginity by whoawa(m): 9:18am On Sep 24, 2014
It all depends on the man sex experience ,For me I can never ever have any form of intimacy talk more of marriage with any VIRGIN, believe me marrying a virgin can only work for inexperience man whom only seeing her unclothedness trips him. For experience man u must have swag on the bed, know how to suck very well and many more style to hold him down.

A virgin always complain of pains here and there, they hardly initiate love making and when u do they start complaining,

And even when u have the one that enjoys it, her demand for sex will be too excessive, which weakens ur moral and the next thing there will start looking for it ex where,

At last if u want to marry a virgin make sure u are also a virgin, because action and reaction must be equal and opposite in direction

EducationFG Panel Recommends Removal Of HND, First Degree Disparity by whoawa(op): 9:05am On Jul 02, 2014
The Presidential Committee on NEEDS assessment of
Nigerian Public Polytechnics and Colleges of Education has
recommended the removal of dichotomy between Higher
National Diploma, HND, and the university first degrees.
The committee, in its report submitted to the Federal
Government in Abuja yesterday, also advised that the
curriculum of polytechnics should be regularly reviewed to
address changes in industry and the demand in society.
Director, Tertiary Education, Federal Ministry of Education,
and Chairperson of the committee, Mrs. Hindatu Abdullahi,
said part of the recommendations was that the National
Board for Technical Education, NBTE and National
Universities Commission, NUC, should develop standards for
the award of Bachelor of Technology, B.Tech, by the
nation’s polytechnics.
She added that the committee also recommended
autonomy for deserving colleges of education to degree-
awarding status, as well as increase enrolment of students
into their programmes.
“The National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE,
should ensure that all colleges of education running degree
programmes should have not less than 60 per cent Ph.D
holders of the total academic staff strength for each of the
degree courses; and provision of Centres for Educational
Technology, CET, with all the requisite facilities,” Mrs.
Abdullahi stated.
The report of the committee also revealed that in the
schools visited, “all categories of physical facilities are
grossly inadequate, while available ones are utiliaed beyond
installed capacity.
“Some vital learning resources are completely unavailable;
the enrolment policy of 60:40 ratio for Science and Arts-
based courses in Colleges of Education and 70:30 in favour
of Science/Technology and Arts/Social Sciences in
polytechnics are not implemented.
“In some institutions, the teacher-student ratio is low; most
of the institutions do not have on-campus hostels, while the
available ones are overcrowded, poorly lit and not
adequately ventilated, and in a state of disrepair; municipal
facilities are inadequate and in poor condition.
“Based on these findings, the following recommendations
cut across the polytechnics and colleges of education:
Completion of abandoned and on-going projects;
rehabilitation and upgrading of facilities, infrastructures that
are in the state of disrepair; provision and rehabilitation of
students through public-private partnership.
“Recruitment of qualified teachers and training/re-training of
personnel; provision and upgrading of internet connectivity,
tele-communication and information services; provision of
essential learning resources/materials; all polytechnics and
colleges should be linked to the National Power Grid and
provide alternative/support of power in libraries,
laboratories, workshops and studios; review of the laws
establishing these institutions; the following
recommendations are specific to polytechnics,” the report
stressed.
Abdullahi informed that the report would assist the
government in repositioning the institutions for effective and
efficient teaching, learning research and community
services, in line the federal government’s transformation
agenda and global best practices.
SportsCash Crisis Hits Super Eagles’ Supporters Club by whoawa(op): 10:15am On Jun 30, 2014
About 250 members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, NFSC, will miss watching the match between Nigeria and France in Brasilia today as they had to leave Brazil yesterday for Nigeria due to paucity of funds.

According to some aggrieved members, the return ticket for most members of the club was for June 29 and others for July 1, but the leadership did not notify the affected until Saturday, even as their flight was billed for 12:40am yesterday.

Only 100 members of the club left Sao Paulo yesterday for Brasilia, about 16 hours drive by road.

A member, who gave her name as Uju, said: “We have enough funds. Most of us paid N300, 000. I paid N300, 000 as money charged. I spent N80, 000 as visa fee, but I was left in Nigeria and had to spend another N350, 000 to get to Brazil.

“President Goodluck Jonathan gave the club N50m and our major sponsors – Globacom, Guinness and even Alhaji Aliko Dangote.”

Another member of the club, who gave his name simply as Oba, said: “I paid N300, 000, but since I got to Brazil I have been feeding myself.

“I have also spent my pocket money for all the trips on the road to Curitiba, Cuiaba, Porto Alegre and back to Sao Paolo. How can the leaders arrange that we are leaving after the group stage? Were they pessimistic about the Super Eagles’ performance?”

Another member, who also gave her name simply as Titilayo, said: “Even though they had made such arrangements, now that the Super Eagles are in the Round of 16, the leaders are supposed to reschedule our flights by extending it. When we get home, the President- General and the national chairman must explain to us what they did with our money.”

A member from the Lagos State chapter of the club, however, noted that the crisis had resulted from what he called internal crisis in the club.

He alleged that a faction of the club had hoarded funds donated by some multi-national organisations.

But the President-General of the club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, who admitted the crisis, said: “Some members have to go for some of us to still stay to support the Super Eagles.”

We are not interested in a second fiddle VP position and we have a way of dealing with traitors. You know absolutely noting about ND. Stick to your local government area my friend
Amaechi is nothing but a selfish politician, who thinks something cqn come out from nothing. A gud Governor can not put his state in a war against the presidency just for a selfish desire of being a VP. If he is man enough let him come out and vie for presidency then we will support him
