We still have a long way to go with sports development...so any medals won while nice, still does not mean all is well.

Apart from football, sports development in Nigeria is abysmal. Always has been. We have to raise talent, have to raise funding, have to raise expertise. We need more and more and more people playing a variety of sports.

Any medal won is even a shame on their part because those athletes braved the odds to do so. Even if the money meant for these things is brought out it would still go hidden in some certain individuals pocket. Even the football that we pride ourself in 75% is still being run stupidly. When last have the super eagles given us any joy? Everything just needs a total reboot.

Argentina had a deadly attack for a long time but when it comes to games of high pedigree especially the world cup you too know you have to have a balanced squad. Apart from say Mascherano I don't really think they had a top midfield like that. Can someone like otamendi or paredes slot into the Spanish side? Even the weaker Portugal side that won euro 2016 was firstly a defensively great side while ronaldo and Nani did the finishing upfront
