Politics / Robbers Attack Lagos Police Station, Sink Police Gunboat by wholexy009(m): 9:32am On Nov 16, 2015 |
Armed robbers on Sunday aatcked the Marine Police Post of the Lagos State Police Command in the Epe area of Lagos state. During the attack, the robbers exchanged gunfire with policemen while they attempted to steal the station’s gunboat and ammunitions. According to Punch, the robbers, who were about 20, came in a speedboat to the Marine beach at about 12.00am. Fortunately, policemen from the Epe division, the Rapid Response Squad and the Counter-Terrorism Unit, were mobilised to the scene to repel the attack. A police source said that the robbers, who escaped in their boat, riddled the station with bullets. The gunboat, which they attempted to steal, sank. He said: “It was at about 12am that the militants invaded the Marine Police Post, Epe. Their mission was to kill the policemen and dismantle the security structures around the place so that they could embark on a bank robbery maybe on Monday. “The gunfire lasted for several minutes, and the whole area was riddled with bullets. Eventually, they succeeded in sinking the gunboat. No policeman was killed but some might have been injured by the bullets.” It was learnt that the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, went to the station on Sunday and assessed the damage. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, who confirmed the attack, said the CP had directed that the area be electrified and the gunboat replaced. Offor added that the police had increased surveillance in the area and that everything was back to normal. He said: “The Epe Divisional Police Officer, the Rapid Response Squad and the CTU repelled the gunmen. The CP visited the place and ordered that the beach be electrified. “The area commander, the DPO and other officers have made efforts to recover the gunboat. We are still working on it and we have fortified the area. Banks have been asked to go on with their usual activities, and there is no cause for alarm. “No arrests have been made so far. Efforts are on to replace the gunboat.” Source www.lindaikejisblog.com/2015/.../robbers-attack-lagos-police-station.ht

Politics / Kenyan Based Nigerian Pastor Who Sucks Women's Breasts Bursted By A Radio Host by wholexy009(m): 12:12pm On Nov 05, 2015 |
Pastor Chijioke of Breasts and Honey New International Church, who allegedly heals women by sucking their breasts was caught in the hot seat last week when a female radio DJ called him using a fake name to ask for spiritual guidance. In the phone call, the DJ who works at Hero Radion, Nakuru, Kenya told the Pastor that her problem is that she can’t seem to get married. Every time she has a man, when things get serious between them, the men run away. This is the lady that interviewed him..her name is Kate Vobic The pastor then tells her that she has the spirit of rejection and he has to suck it out from her breasts in order to get deliverance. "The spirit lies in the breast of a lady... the more you suck the breast the more you get the fulfilling of the Lord." The man’s congregation only has women and they are told not to wear bras to make sucking their breasts much easier. The DJ then asked the pastor if he can tell her where in the bible it says that a pastor must suck a woman’s breasts to heal her. The pastor refuses to answer and says, "Don’t bring up the bible, you just come, we do this thing and then we finish." Later in the conversation, the DJ busts the pastor and tells him her real name and that he is live on air. The defensive pastor then got angry and denied his real name which he had given her before and says she should call him a man of God instead. When asked why he is deceiving people, he replied saying she is stupid and she just called because she has been hearing women saying that he sucks breasts nicely. Source: Daily Sun SA

Politics / Bvn Related Scam: Must Read by wholexy009(m): 11:47am On Nov 03, 2015 |
I came across the information below and decided to share, let us be informed and educate our folks, friends and family. Please read this carefully, it may save you a few hundred, or a few thousand, or may be a few million bucks. It’s a personal experience, a true event that happened this afternoon. I am Sunday Adewole, I just fell victim of fraudsters a few hours ago. I am an account holder with StanbicIBTC bank, I am trying to put fund together to pay for my daughter’s tuition fee in CU in which case the institution already resumed last week. Yesterday afternoon, I got a call from somebody purportedly from StanbicIBTC who said “Am I speaking with Dr. Adewole” (called out my other names) to which I answered in the affirmative. He said he called in respect of my BVN which I was observed not to have done, I replied that I already had it done with Skye bank and he said the bank will send me a link so that my account with Stanbic will be linked with the BVN. True to our conversation, I receive a message from StanbicIBTC in which an OTP was sent to my phone. A few minutes later, he called to ask if I got the SMS, I told him yes but I can’t do anything about it cos I was driving. He said no problem I should call out the numbers which I did and he thanked me for my cooperation in a customer service manner. I heard nothing since then till this afternoon at precisely 13:00 hrs when I received a SMS from StanbicIBTC informing me of a debit transaction which cleared my account to the lowest thousand, i.e. I was left with a paltry N685 (six hundred and eighty five naira). I called my account officer who confirmed to me that I have fallen victim of fraudsters and he checked up on my account and saw that the recipient acct is in First Bank. My puzzle is how did they get my account details? How were they able to generate an OTP to my phone. I am waiting to see what my bank would do on it. In the meantime, please be aware of what the 419 people can do. I’ll keep you posted on any new development.” http://www.onlineleaks247.com/index.php/2015/11/02/on-going-bvn-scam-even-the-most-cautious-person-will-fall-for-this-one/ |

Politics / Skye Bank Launches “skye Pearl” To Unleash Potentials In Women by wholexy009(m): 9:33am On Oct 29, 2015 |
Restating a commitment to expand the horizon of its customers, Skye Bank has launched “Skye Pearl” initiative to help its female customers unlock their potentials. The program which was unveiled at a dinner event on Friday, October 23 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island in Lagos, is a platform that offers series of activities meant to benefit sit-at-home mothers, professionals and women-owned SMEs, by offering them a chance to grow and expand their businesses through partnership, relationship, access to financial education, information, networking, mentoring and empowerment initiative. Speaking at the launch event, Managing Director/CEO, Skye Bank Plc, Mr. Timothy Oguntayo, said, “Skye Pearl Initiative is a well-thought-out offering conceived by women and birthed by women basically to cater for the needs of Nigerian women. For us, it is our way of ensuring that our customers and in this case, our women customers enjoy fullness of our business.” “The six pillars that drive Skye Pearl is what makes it stand out among other propositions: ‘The acronym C.I.N.E.M.A stands for C – Capacity Building; I – Information; N – Networking; E – Empowerment; M- Mentoring and A – Access To Finance’. This is aimed to project Pearl Woman as someone who is precious, informed, connected, evolving and a mentor,” Oguntayo said. In her speech as the guest speaker, Mrs. Abosede ’Debola Osibogun, FCIB, President/Chairman of Council, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) noted that “it is a great honour to be part of an initiative that celebrates women within and beyond Nigeria. It is indeed a laudable programme which recognizes all the elements that constitute component of a woman. Women are powerful, they are nation builders and for any nation or business to thrive there must be a space large enough to contain women and for me, that is what Skye Pearl initiative is bringing to the fore.” Also speaking further on the initiative, Executive Director, Skye Bank Plc, Ibiye Asime Ekong, stated that women are important to the economy. “Women are filled with potentials and valuable. This is expressed in the name of the programme. A pearl has value and it comes with inherent possibilities. Skye Bank sees this in women and is looking towards enhancing that possibility. Also, a look around the world and you discover that the bulk of financial decisions are being made to include women, because it has become obvious that, in most households, women control the spending, as they spend on clothes, food, school, medical expenses and household goods.” Based on a research conducted by the Skye Bank leading to the creation of the programme, it was discovered that many women have a desire to own their businesses but do not have access to finance. Another benefit being offered on the “Skye Pearl” programme is that it will assist women to access Skye Bank’s existing loan products at concessionary terms. Part of the activities that would be enjoyed on the “Skye Pearl” programme include an online platform, where members can participate in focused group sessions, and also discuss issues as it concerns women. There would also be online training on financial education, and access to mentors and role models. |

Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi has said the commission would apply the principles of prudence and affordability in the current upward review of electricity tariffs in the country. Amadi gave the clarification against the backdrop of reports that NERC would increase the tariffs by 40 per cent. The NERC chairman, who described the report as inaccurate, added that the review process was still ongoing. Amadi was quoted recently to have stated that between 40 per cent and five per cent increase would be approved for the distribution companies. But he told Thisday that NERC had not finished the review “so there is no way of knowing the percentage increase.” “It is all speculative; we will not know until the end of the review,” he added. On how the 40 per cent increase credited to him, was arrived at, Amadi stated that “we said that in the tariff proposals from the discos, some have 40 per cent; some 60 per cent; some 5 per cent and so on for different customer classes.” SOURCE: Thisday – Online |
