Genius000: This thread is starved of students experience in Canada.
Many get their visa and is goodbye.
At best, they post POE experience that's all.
We have little information on students experience in Canada.
The U.S. thread is way different. A lot still come back to help and share stories.
Don't tell my busy, It's a choice. No one is too busy. You're right, there is even a thread on NL about the experiences of Nigerian students in Canada and how they are surviving but the thread is dead to me because it takes a minimum of two weeks before you could get any reply This thread is solely meant for admission and study permit seekers..... I think we should add that to this new part in order to give room for peeps over there to share their experiences Thanks |

Osemigho: With this profile, I will advise you join the Express Entry group and be reading once in a while. With little have read on the group thread, I have come to realize that you can enter canny with this profile as PR and not wait till after masters study.
You neighbour can't be displaying small kolo and you will say he no concern you. You go run when hin bring cutlass come your side. Canny is touting her EE now, tap into it, except that is not your ultimate goal. World economy is connected. If canny neighbour act funny, it might impact her so bad that she will adjust her smile towards immigration. Bros, my ultimate goal is to get a PR.... I will join the thread asap... Thanks, you the best!!! |

Folaroyal: Nice one and many congrats! I am not certain that Concordia U will have any intake for your program until fall... It really depends on what you want though! 1. If you want to enter immediately... You only need to tell them at the PoE that your approval was delayed, hence you can't start until May or June but you need to process your deferral and conclude payments/enrollment.... They can't turn you back! But what will you be doing till fall?
2. If you choose to stay.... Process your deferral from Nigeria and resume at the next intake period. ... In any case, you will extend your permit as at when required inside Canada.... If you need to!
Bro... The main of the iss is that you have your TRV!!!... Pick your permit at the PoE when you desire.... Anytime within the 'Must enter by date' Best wishes. Thanks for the insight. Assuming I opt for the first option, is it possible for me to start working months before the start date of my programme. |

Austinpee4: Good then. You only need to defer your admission and travel to canada when the time comes. No need to extend your TRV in nigeria. You can do that when you get to canada if need be. Thanks bro |

Austinpee4: Congratulation! You should apply to defer your admission to the next start date.Your TRV will give you a duration and time frame for you to enter canada. Depending on your program length, it could be valid for the duration of your program or less. You only need to defer your admission. I believe your TRV will be lengthy enough to allow you enter canada for the next start date of your program.
CIC would definitely be aware that you can't resume for winter 2017 again. So they will issue a TRV that will cover next possible start date. Check the visa foil on your passport and you will find out the time frame you have to enter canada.
All the best to you and congrats again. My trv is valid for my program length, which is two years.... Thanks for the reply |

Osemigho: Ask program coordinator for best semester to resume. I think you don't need extension if your due entry date is close to the recommended semester. Anyways, I am a learner in the que you ask. Gurus will have better opinion. Thanks bro |

All praise and worship belongs to Allah (SWT) for the approval of my TRV, which of his favors will I deny? None.
Application Timeline:
Online route and upfront medical
Application and biometrics - Nov. 14 Medical passed - Dec 16 Passport request and passport submitted - Jan 31 Passport collected - Feb 7 correspondence letter - Feb 8
Programme: MEng Information Security, Concordia University Montreal
Please I have a question @folaroyal, michv, thesoj, osemigbo and all other gurus in the house, my proposed programme has already started since January 9, 2017 and I can't meet up with the winter admission again according to the school. How do I solve this issue? Should I apply to defer my admission and apply for study permit extension here in Nigeria? Please, what's the best way to tackle this issue? Thanks
Wish all TRV hopefuls success |

Eddysmart: First, I will love to find out if concordia university, Montreal, requires proof of English proficiency for Nigerians to study Info systems sec. If yes can I do that after the application deadline or after the admission? I got an offer into the same program for winter 2017, they required proof of English proficiency for Nigerians. Also, I submitted my test score after the application deadline. However, submitting your test score after the application deadline would definitely slow down your application because the offer for admission comes almost two months after submitting all the required documents. Thank you |

In fact, I am almost done with the application but I needed to talk to someone to confirm certain things before I pay the application fee. I sent them a mail but the reply I got was very shallow. Called them severally but no one picks up. Please I would really appreciate if I could contact you and ask you few questions. Thanks What do you wanna confirm? |

Tabio: Good evening guys. I have questions for people that applied online and people that were able to link their paper applications. 1) were you notified of a change in the status of your application when your application was being processed? (Did it change from open to something else ) 2) what did 'no additional documents are needed at this time' change to ? And no interview needed at this time ? 3) anyone apply after October or ending of October gwith upfront medicals and has gotten his/her TRV?
Well I've noticed on the thread that people that applied at the ending of October with the online route Are yet to receive their visas till now where as paper applications done in November have been giving testimonies.
Please feel free to correct me ! Thank you You're right.. People that applied at the end of October via online route are yet to receive their TRV. It means paper route is faster than online route. |
