As far as u have the assessment no matter the increment, what you have on the assessment is what you'll pay for ever
Let me explain better. I have a RX350 2018 that got to the port since mid 2023. The custom fee then was 6.8M which I have the Assesment Notice.
The custom clearing agent scammed me and japa after I paid him.
Okay now, he sent me the assessment notice which was generated since 2023 and I paid it to Gtbank myself today.
Now I forwarded it to the new clearing agent and he’s telling me I need to pay over 1M+ to an “unofficial account” cos the new money I should pay should have been about 12M but he’s helping me.
I just want to be sure about the law that guides the custom payment before I start fighting cos this thing is so frustrating this days mehn.
I might just trend it on twitter cos or just mail them.

I want to confirm something from you.

Inverter ACs work well if the installation is done well, service regularly and use the original gas. It's so cold in my room right now, I had to even increase the temperature to 22 degrees.

That's my current usage 506W and it includes
- 1.5HP LG inverter AC (L1 Power mode @ 22C)
- 565L Hisense fridge (double door)
- 90L Hisense fridge (small room fridge)
- Starlink (Dish + Router)
- 3 Deco X55 mesh routers
- 4 Security cameras & DVR

My brother, inverter ACs work well, just need to get the right technician to install and service it. I gave out my 1HP & 1.5HP inverter ACs a few years ago because "they weren't working well", till today the people I gave them to are enjoying it lol. The technician I had then wanted to kee me. I later had to spend money to buy the same ACs i gave out again. LMAO!

I will continue to advocate for inverter ACs infact LG inverter ACs to be specific because me I don't want to have an AC i won't want to turn on because I'm worried about my light bill. That and, I run this particular AC in my room 24/7 on my solar panels / batteries. Ire oh!
Why not just 1HP inverter AC instead of 1.5

You can use this link below to search for schools of public health, some offer different forms of fundings. You can also email the schools of your choice for more information regarding funding, etc.

https://www.healthcare-administration-degree.net/affordable-master-in-public-health-degree-programs-2/

More so, you can search through sophas.aspph.org
SOPHAS is a centralized application system for various schools of public health in US.
They advantage of applying through it is that you get to submit your documents like transcripts, LoRs, CV, standardized test scores only once and they will submit them the schools that you choose.
The drawback is that not every school of public health is registered there and also their application fee is relatively high (I think around 155$ for the first application you submit and around 55$ for each subsequent application, but the fees might have changed).

Thank you so much

You actually don’t need TOEFL or IELTS as a Nigerian applicant. Also most schools don’t require GRE since 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic
Check schools website for more info.

Did ur friend get funding? any percentage, I just need that for a better chance in visa application

Joyussilver:
Good day everyone! i hope this finds you well. I have a visa interview coming up on the 20th of May and i need all the help i can get in preparing towards its success. I am new here and i am kind of finding it difficult navigating this forum. I will just get straight to my question.

FOR CONTEXT -
I graduated from the national open university of Nigeria with a 3.52 CGPA - Bsc Environmental science and resource mgmt. in 2016 and i have been a private home tutor since then. Although i have tried other businesses over the years as well.

i initially intended to apply for Msc in public health, which i did and i got admitted into 2 universities in Sweden, but because i didn't get a scholarship offers, i declined the admission offers and started seeking for admissions in the US AND Canada, also with hopes of getting a scholarship.

Long story short, i came across a Twitter(X) thread about Universities in the US with tuition waivers and that's how I heard about OAKLAND STATE UNIVERSITY, MI.

I applied and got admission for MSC PUBLIC HEALTH, but while waiting for my I-20 to be sent to me, i was going through the university's undergrad courses and realized there is a NURSING COURSE called ACCELERATED SECOND DEGREE BSN, 15MONTHS duration and which am qualified to apply for, so long as i have a Bsc in a science related field already. So, i applied and also got admitted.

The university then contacted me asking me which course i would want to carry on with because i cannot be admitted to both the Graduate and Undergraduate school. i told them i want to go for the Accelerated Bsn course at the undergraduate school. I was supposed to resume this summer on 2nd of May but because of a late visa interview date i had to defer to the Fall semester.

Now to my question, during the interview, when asked what i have been doing since my first degree and also if asked why i am switching to Nursing, how do i go about that? Also, when asked about my career goals after the nursing school how do i go about that?

P.S - I am the lastborn of four siblings and my elder brother who works in an international oil company is my sponsor.

Thanks, in anticipation for your response.

Hi can you send me the link or put me through on how to apply?
I have a bsc in Public health, I want to go for mph program and I need to get some waivers to stand a chance.

Business / Re: How To Build A Successful Cold Room Business In Nigeria by willian10: 2:29am On Nov 21, 2023
ofinglobal:
In Nigeria, the demand for perishable foods is on the rise as the country’s population and economy continue to grow and develop. For entrepreneurs looking to tap into this market, building a cold room business can be a lucrative venture. Cold rooms are an essential component of any food and beverage business, providing a safe and efficient way to store and preserve perishable goods.
Now that I have your attention, I need you to know that there are a few key considerations to keep in mind before starting this business. In this article, we will explore the steps you need to take to set up a successful cold room business in Nigeria, including market research, business plan, financing, and installing a durable cold room facility.

Conduct Market Research
It is important to understand the demand for cold storage solutions in your area and what types of products are commonly stored in cold rooms. You should also research the competition because it will help you understand the market landscape and determine how you can differentiate your business. This could be offering a unique product or service, targeting a specific niche market, or positioning your business as a one-stop shop for cold storage needs.
Create a Business Plan

A business plan is essential because it will help guide decision-making, allocation of resources, and track progress. It is a well-written document that outlines your goals, target market, financial projections, etc. It will also be useful when seeking funding from investors or banks as it provides a clear and detailed overview of the business and its financial needs. It helps investors or lenders understand its potential and the risks and opportunities associated with investing in it.

Determine your Target Market

Cold storages are typically used to store perishable products such as meat, dairy, and produce. In addition to the products you intend to sell and the people who will buy them, consider which businesses in your area may be interested in using your cold room and how you can reach them. For example, a local grocery store or restaurant may be interested in using your cold room to store their perishable products.

Choose a suitable location

The location of your cold room business is important as it will affect the cost of rent and utilities, as well as the accessibility of the facility. Look for a location that is easily accessible to your target market and has a consistent supply of electricity and water.

Purchase Equipment and Materials

You will need to purchase or install cold room units, refrigeration equipment, and other necessary materials such as insulation and shelving. It is important to research different options and choose high-quality equipment that will be reliable and energy efficient. Invest in updated machinery that ensures long-term sustainability and better performance. Here are some things to look out for in your equipment: insulation, cooling rate, energy consumption, availability of parts and maintenance, etc. Still not sure how to go about this? Hit us up. Ofinglobl HVAC/R Company is your surest plug when it comes to quality cold room designs, installations and supply. We deliver nationwide, so proximity is not a problem.

Secure funding
Securing funding is often an important step for businesses, especially those that require significant investments in equipment, infrastructure, or other resources. Depending on the size of your cold room business, you may need to secure funding through loans or investments from banks, venture capital firms, or other sources. Be prepared to present your business plan and financial projections to potential investors or lenders.
Promote your business
Once your cold room business is up and running, it is important to let potential customers know about your services. You can promote your business through advertising, word of mouth, and networking with others in the industry.
Your marketing strategies and effective implementation of advertising and promotional campaigns will go a long way toward contributing to the progress of your business. Your marketing plan should target all the different market segments, such as traders, promoters, wholesalers, marketers, warehouse companies and retail markets, and supermarkets in urban and rural areas. At a later stage, you can consider partnerships with producers, exporters, distributors, e.t.c.
Factors that may Hinder the Success of a Cold Room Business
There are several factors you must look out for if you want your cold room business to be successful. These include:

Poor state of the roads
Poor infrastructure, particularly roads, can be a significant challenge for cold room businesses in Nigeria. Nigeria’s roads are often poorly maintained and congested, which can make it difficult to transport products that require consistently low temperatures. This can be particularly problematic for businesses that need to transport perishable products, such as meat, dairy, etc., as even short delays can result in spoilage and loss of product quality, which can reduce the efficiency of the business. To mitigate the impact of poor road infrastructure on a cold room business, it may be necessary to invest in specialised transportation equipment, such as refrigerated trucks, to ensure that products are kept at the correct temperature during transport. It may also be necessary to establish relationships with reliable transportation partners and have backup plans in place in case of delays or other issues.
Limited access to financing
Limited access to financing is a common challenge for businesses in Nigeria, including those in the cold room industry. Many struggle to secure loans or investments from banks or other financial institutions due to a lack of collateral, a weak credit history, or other factors. This can make it difficult to invest in the necessary equipment and infrastructure to operate a cold room business. To overcome this challenge, you may have to consider alternative sources of financing, such as grants, crowdfunding, or angel investors. It may also be necessary to invest in marketing and sales efforts to generate revenue and fund the business’s growth.
Competition
The cold room industry in Nigeria is highly competitive, with a large number of businesses vying for market share. This can make it difficult for new cold room businesses to establish themselves in the market and attract customers. To succeed in this competitive environment, it is important to differentiate yourself from the competition and offer a unique product or service that sets you apart. One way you can stand out is by offering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with customers. This could include providing additional value-added services such as consulting or training on cold storage best practices, or offering flexible and customised solutions to meet the specific needs of customers.
Government regulations
There are several government regulations that apply to businesses operating in Nigeria, including regulations related to food safety and handling. These regulations are in place to protect the health and safety of consumers and ensure that they are operating in a responsible and ethical manner. Non-compliance with these regulations can result in fines and other penalties, which can impact the success of the cold room business. For example, a cold room business that fails to meet food safety standards may face fines and damage to its reputation, which could lead to lost business and reduced profits. It is important to be familiar with the applicable laws and regulations and to implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance. This may include training employees on proper food handling practices, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining accurate records.

Wrapping up
If you’re looking to start a cold storage business for yourself, then I hope this article gives you the information that you need. However, in the end, being successful is all about your passion, how much risk you are willing to take, and how much hard work you are willing to put in.
