PoliticsThe Reasons Why Buhari Does Not Come Out To Speak To The Country by Winnerforever(op): 12:19pm On May 08, 2021
This is the truth and the bitter truth.

In every country in the world no matter how small in size, the leaders come out to speak and reassure their people anytime there is a crisis, especially during periods of plague, mass murder and civil unrest. Yet we have barely seen Buhari over the past few years when Nigeria has been on the verge of collapse. When he has appeared, it has been in pre-recorded videos and a trip to the UK where a British government medical team is on standby to patch him up and further sustain his frail life.

I want to give you a few credible suggestions why we never see Buhari speaking to the nation or taking tours to hot spots to assuage the wrath of the people and bring a semblance of calm and tranquillity.

1. Buhari had an agenda before he came to power, and he is determined to achieve it at all costs, even at the decimation of millions of lives. He might be in Aso Rock, but he still has the mindset of a cattle herder and his loyalty is to his clan in the whole of West and Central Africa. He knows that there is severe drought in the Sahara desert and that his Fulani kinsfolk may face severe hardship over the next few decades, so he intends to open up Nigeria for their taking, so that they can claim as much land as possible for their families and future generations. More diabolically of course, he believes in the conquest of the rest of Nigeria for Uthman Dan Fodio.

2. There is a power tussle in the military and government, there are many who are angry, upset, and fed-up with the status quo of daily embarrassment on the global state. They truly want Buhari out of power at any cost, so he keeps out of sight and stays within the confines of Aso Rock and protection of his inner circle who he can trust. He knows what happened to Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat of Egypt and is determined to prevent a repetition.

3. There is an extremist cabal in his inner circle who will do everything under heaven to prevent Buhari from leaving office as that would endanger of all of them, expose their ulterior motives and spell the end of their terrorist plans and ongoing actions across the nation. Besides, they cannot bare to think of losing their oil wells and gold mines. Money matters more to them than human life. They also cannot allow another Christian VP to become Vice President as this will set their deadly plans back by decades.

4. Buhari is a very sick man, he can only tolerate meetings that last a maximum of 30 minutes. After these meetings he has to be taken away and injected with a cocktail of drugs that keep him alive.

This is the GOSPEL TRUTH.

Thanks for reading.

Contrary to poplar fiction that no soldiers died in the fight with the UGM in Orlu ( not ESN ) , over 7 soldiers and 3 police men lost their lives ( RIP ) , but their colleagues took the bodies away as they normally do to hide the truth. It is quite unfortunate that the Nigeria army are always apt to either hide or stretch the truth. But we know them , and they can no longer deceive us.

An average of two army trucks were obliterated in the skirmish that happened on the eventful day , after the soldiers fled on foot.

Some United Kingdom-based universities have expressed their willingness to provide conditional admission for Nigerians seeking to further their university education in the country, despite the postponement of the conduct of this year’s terminal examination for Senior Secondary School Students in the country. An international educational consultant, Mr Tunde Salami, in an interview with Saturday Vanguard, urged the government at the federal and state levels to deplore more resources to the educational sector to avoid what he described as future manpower in the name of brain-drain.

He spoke while fielding question from reporters during a press conference to herald an Educational Fair slated for May 7 and 10 in Ibadan and Lagos respectively. According to Salami who is the Country Director, TCL Global Nigeria, the many UK based are on the lookout for Nigerian students because of their self-motivation, intelligence and commitment to education and as such are always willing to offer them admission. He said: “The Universities that we had a meeting with confirmed to us that because of the issues around WAEC and NECO results in this year, they are able to accept the Senior Secondary School Two (SSS2) results and Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) final results from the school.” “So, whatever result that the student has, it has to be on the letterhead of the school and they will use that to give admission to the student. They will use the SS2 and SS3 results to give conditional admission for the students to study in the UK.”

“Which means, if they believe that our system is porous, they will not be accepting this. This is a very good thing that we are saying that despite all the challenges, there is still hope for the Nigerian education because it was confirmed.” “Between now and next week, I am sure that more universities will be giving us this policy statement that SS2 and SS3 results of prospective students that want to study and seek admission in the UK will be using this within the UK universities.” Highlighting what prospective university admission seeker stands to gain, Salami said the firm he represents has an affiliation with over 75 universities in the UK that are always ready to offer qualified Nigerian students university admission without stress. He assures that such prospective students are offered service free of charge by his firm.

On adoption of a system of education between the UK and Nigeria advising the government on how to improve the sector in the country, Salami said: “The government needs to make maximum use of our resources if you go to the UK and see the available resources and you compare it with what we have in Nigeria, I think we just need effective use of our resources.” “If we can use our resources well, starting from the policy of when we are doing our appropriation bill, how much percentage of the budget is dedicated on education, instead most of the budget now is on security.” “If we can spend more money on our education system, that means the future of Nigeria will be better. The foundation for any meaningful growth and development is education.” “And I pray that our policymakers will be able to get this decision right, make effective use of the resources that is disposable for them because the resources are there.”

https://www.baptiststandard.com/wp-content/uploads/Open-Doors-Map-1024x576.jpg
The World Watch List is Open Doors’ annual ranking of the 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution.

NIGERIA (BP)—Boko Haram and affiliated Islamic terrorists are poised to form a caliphate in Sub-Saharan Africa, international religious liberty leaders said.

U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom member Johnnie Moore and Open Doors CEO David Curry both told Baptist Press conditions are ripe for Boko Haram and associated terrorists to form a caliphate—a monolithic government of strict Sharia law—in the region, with Nigeria proving one of the most dangerous countries there.

USCIRF Commissioner Moore said it’s very reasonable to assert that Islamic terrorists are on the verge of a caliphate in the region.

“I do not think it’s an exaggeration that a certain series of events could result in a portion of a country, or of a few countries in that part of Africa coming under the total control of Islamic terrorists instituting an ISIS-like caliphate,” Moore said.

“It is a realistic prospect. Do I think it would last long if it happens? I don’t know. I think probably not. It might force the world to wake up, in the way ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) did. But, I keep finding myself saying, ‘When is the world going to wake up to what’s happening?’”

Similar to pattern of ISIS attacks

Both Moore and Curry said the pattern of extremist attacks is alarmingly similar to the pattern of ISIS attacks of a few years ago.

“Without a concentrated effort to counter its spread,” Curry said in an Open Doors press release, “we can only expect the new Islamic State to become more dangerous.”

Open Doors Director of Advocacy Isaac Six said Boko Haram never abandoned its original intent of establishing a caliphate in the region.

“Their level of control and violence, and the outgrowth of that with other groups, is getting to the point that it looks like it’s going to be more of a reality than probably we would have thought in recent years, due to a number of factors,” Six said.

“As we mentioned in our release, 90 percent of the Christians we documented as being killed for their faith last year were in Sub-Saharan Africa, and 74 percent of those killings were in Nigeria alone. And this is all at the hands of Islamic extremist groups.”

Included in the region are Burkina Faso, Chad, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali and Mozambique, nations which have risen in rank on Open Doors’ World Watch List of the 50 worst countries for Christians. Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province and other terrorist groups are active there.

“So while the world’s kind of looking in a different direction, especially with COVID … these groups have gotten more violent,” Six said. “They’ve expanded a lot of their territory, and they’re looking closer to actually having a caliphate than I think we’ve seen in years.”

Boko Haram listed among entities of particular concern

Moore said the fact that USCIRF has named Boko Haram and a handful of other terrorist groups as entities of particular concern indicates that they already have some type of territorial control, a requirement for the commission’s EPC designation.

“But what’s happening here between Boko Haram and ISIS in West Africa, and other groups like them, we’re seeing a growing segment of that whole part of the continent, where you have these jihadist groups operating with impunity, or these governments not being able to control them,” Moore said. “I’m seeing the emergence of a similar pattern as what I saw in 2014 with ISIS in Iraq and Syria.”

In its 2021 Annual Report, USCIRF recommended U.S. policy changes to counter terrorism in the region. Moore points out the U.S. relationship with Nigeria, which has focused largely on economic and humanitarian concerns including food security.

“And yet, it doesn’t seem like we’ve had a comprehensive approach solving the internal insurgency in the country,” he said. “And unfortunately, what was isolated to the northeast of Nigeria, Boko Haram and other terrorists, we’re now seeing in the northwest of Nigeria. So, it has spread.

“And in the center part of the country, you have certain tribal groups, Fulani tribesmen, who I would say are inspired by the tactics of these terrorists and are now deploying the same tactics.”

Nigerian policy should be a major priority of the Biden Administration, Moore said.

“In my opinion, right now, the president of the United States sitting in the Oval Office, if he has to decide five global issues that are emergency situations that demand his immediate attention, this issue in Western Africa, centralized in Nigeria and Niger and others, is in those top five,” Moore said, “and it may be in the top three, because of what could happen if it isn’t solved.”

While Christians comprise about half of Nigeria’s population, Moore said Christians in the northeast and Middle Belt are particularly vulnerable.

“The Christian community has already been decimated. Countless churches have been burned down, countless people have been killed. Women raped, their children murdered. Pastors beheaded,” Moore said. “An already decimated community could be just totally eliminated, and it’s a huge community.”

Boko Haram has been active in Africa more than 10 years, with persecution watchdogs and other groups estimating Boko Haram has killed between 30,000 and 50,000 people and displaced millions more.

Terrorists of the Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP), on Thursday, launched an attack in Damboa, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria, leading to the dislodgement of the military super camp in the area.

Damboa is located in the southern part of Borno State, the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria, close to the dreaded Alagarno forest. The Local Government headquarters is about 87 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

According to a report by conflict reporting news site, Humangle, the attack on Thursday night, May 6, targeting troops of 25 Task Force Brigade deployed at Bulabulin involved insurgents’ invasion on gun trucks and motorcycles.

The publication added that despite the air component scrambled surveillance and combat aircraft, the base was overrun.

The recent attack is part of the series of attacks that have been launched on military super camps in Borno and Yobe in the last few months.

These attacks have also resulted in new displacements and disruption of humanitarian operations in some locations where aid assistance ought to be prioritized.

Borno State, for over a decade, has been battling the menace of the Boko Haram insurgency, a development that has led to hundreds of thousands of people being killed and millions displaced.

PoliticsHow Our Husbands Are Tormented By Nightmares— Wives Of Soldiers Fighting ISIS by Winnerforever(op): 8:34am On May 07, 2021
Wives of soldiers of the Nigerian Army fighting the Boko Haram insurgency war in the North-East have lamented that their husbands are haunted by nightmares, insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep) and other disorders whenever they are allowed to be back home.

The women, under the aegis of Defence and Police Officers Wives Association, stated in Abuja that these psychological changes call for a post-traumatic stress disorder treatment.

The DEPOWA President, Mrs Victoria Irabor, who led her members on courtesy call to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, at Army headquarters, said officers and soldiers usually return from conflict zones with physical injuries and suppressed emotional trauma.

Mrs Irabor said, as such, they had concluded plans to establish a state-of-the-art Post Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD) diagnostic centre, saying consultations with medical experts showed that those behavioural changes were triggered by trauma and could be known as PTSD.

“One of the major issues is the distinct behavioural traits of returning officers such as nightmares, anxiety, insomnia, and bursts of anger, among others. These were not synonymous with our husbands’ characters before deployment.

“Consequently, we intend to collaborate with the Chief of Army Staff to provide solutions by uniting our voices. It is our desire to have a reintegrated structure for our officers and husbands to ensure that they return to us in good health and total wellness.

“It is for this reason that I wish to propose the establishment of a PTSD evaluation and rehabilitation centre.

“It will evaluate, counsel and provide adequate support to officers, soldiers and by extension their wives prior to reintegration from conflict zones.

“We have a good number of medical facilities across military formations in the country, but they do not provide thorough diagnostic services to tackle some of these emerging challenges,” she said.

Responding, Attahiru commended DEPOWA for its foresight in addressing the physical and emotional needs of personnel and their families.

The army chief said the various programmes being executed across barracks were beneficial to all, assuring that all the services would support DEPOWA.

The issue of soldiers’ welfare and allowances has been controversial in recent times with some of the personnel also claiming they were not adequately remunerated.

In 2018, the then Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin (retd.), also had pointed out that the Armed Forces Act 2004 needed an urgent amendment, as it did not provide any entitlement for soldiers killed or injured during war.

He had said, “The Armed Forces Act, like any other human document, is not perfect. Several attempts have been made since 1993 to amend it. We have no issue with any amendment that will improve the welfare and rights of our citizens. While the military remains law abiding in its efforts, the terrorists, especially in the asymmetric warfare we are fighting, have nobody to account to.

“It is in this light that I consider amendments in the Armed Forces Act that will accord statutory entitlements to members of the armed forces that are killed or wounded during action as such provision are not available in the extant enactment.”
