Arsenal will sell France striker Alexandre Lacazette, 29, to Atletico Madrid for £30m as soon as Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 31, agrees a new deal.

Brighton have rejected a £22m bid from newly promoted Leeds for 22-year-old English centre-back Ben White, who spent last season on loan at Elland Road.

Liverpool are also interested in White, but Chelsea are prepared to outbid the Premier League champions and sell Germany centre-back Antonio Rudiger, 27, to raise funds.

Chelsea are also looking at Manchester City defender John Stones and hope to sign the 26-year-old England international for £20m.

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, with Tottenham and West Ham also interested in the 25-year-old Frenchman

Frank Lampard says Chelsea have the “opportunity to do something special” against Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Champions League last-16 second leg.

The Blues are bidding to overturn a 3-0 deficit at Allianz Arena.

Midfielders N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been deemed fit to play in Germany.

Asked if Chelsea can progress to the quarter-finals, Lampard said: “I believe we can, otherwise I shouldn’t be here.”

Manchester City midfielder Rodri says they are the "better team" but will "have to prove it" to knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League.

City take a 2-1 lead into the last-16 second-leg tie at Etihad Stadium on Friday.

"We are going to suffer in some moments, but we have the mentality to get through," said 24-year-old Spain international Rodri.

"We can win the Champions League, not only this match."

Rodri, who joined City for a club record £62m from Atletico Madrid last summer, has impressed in his first season.

City finished second in the Premier League, while Spanish champions Real Madrid are the Champions League's most successful side in history with 13 titles.

City manager Pep Guardiola said it is "very difficult to analyse" opposite number Zinedine Zidane's tactics.

"It's difficult to know when you think you've one of his plans covered, he will hit you with another," said Guardiola.

Manchester City have completed the signing of Valencia winger Ferran Torres for 23m euros (£20.87m).

He is City's first summer signing and replaces Germany forward Leroy Sane, who left on 3 July for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract.

Brentford play Fulham on Tuesday for the chance to return to the English top flight for the first time in 73 years - and earn about £160m in the process.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says his side “cannot cruise” into Saturday’s Heads Up FA Cup final against Arsenal.

The Blues have already qualified for next season’s Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League, but the Gunners must win at Wembley to qualify for the Europa League.

Lampard told BBC Football Focus: “I’ve heard how there’s more on this game for Arsenal, and that idea worries me.

“We must put ourselves under pressure. This is a huge game for Chelsea.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says winning Saturday's Heads Up FA Cup final to secure European football next season may persuade captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at the club.

Juventus have appointed legendary former midfielder Andrea Pirlo as their new Under-23 manager.

The 41-year-old, regarded as one of the finest players of his generation, has been out of the game since retiring as a player in 2017.

Pirlo won 116 caps for Italy, helping them to win the World Cup in 2006.

He won Serie A four times with Juventus after joining from AC Milan, with whom he spent most of his career and won two Champions League and two league titles.

Pirlo left Juventus in 2015, finishing his playing career in Major League Soccer at New York City FC.

Inter Milan want to sign Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez on a permanent deal.

The Chile striker, 31, has impressed during his loan spell in Italy and scored his third goal in eight games during Saturday’s 3-0 win at Genoa.

Sanchez was involved again on Tuesday night as Inter maintained their push to finish second in Serie A with a 2-0 win over Napoli.

Inter have not finished in Serie A’s top three since 2011.

The player’s United contract – thought to be around £400,000 a week – is beyond Inter’s reach but Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want to keep the former Barcelona forward for next season.

But if these players and fans must enjoy good results from Chelsea next season, we must sign atleast one experienced central back to pair with either Zouma, Rudiger or Chris.

Chelsea’s newest recruit Timo Werner says playing under manager Frank Lampard was the “main” attraction upon deciding to join the club.

The Germany striker, 24, started training with the Blues this week after completing a £54m switch from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.

“We talked a lot about the system, how he [Lampard] wants to play and sees me playing,” said Werner.

“He knows me now a little bit better and it fits very good between us.”

Werner was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool before signing for Chelsea, and the forward says it is “like a little dream” moving to the west London club.
