Lewis Hamilton says he is “completely overcome with rage” at events in the USA following George Floyd’s death.

It is the second time Hamilton has spoken out this week in the wake of protests breaking out across the US.

Floyd, an unarmed black man, died on 25 May after a white police officer, since charged with murder, knelt on his neck for several minutes.

“This past week has been so dark. I have failed to keep hold of my emotions,” Hamilton said.

“I have felt so much anger, sadness, and disbelief.”

Robert Lewandowski scored twice against Fortuna Dusseldorf to equal his most prolific season as Bayern Munich moved 10 points clear at the top.

The FA Cup quarter-finals have been rescheduled for the weekend of 27-28 June with the final set to take place on Saturday, 1 August.

FA chief executive Mark Bullingham said the dates are “dependent on all safety measures being met” with venues and kick-off times yet to be confirmed.

Premier League football is on its way back.

No ball has been kicked in the top flight since mid-March after the season was suspended indefinitely because of coronavirus but players are back in training and it emerged on Thursday that the season is set to resume on 17 June.

With social distancing rules in place, no fans in the stadiums, and the possibility of being able to make five substitutions, it will be a very different football to the one we enjoyed before the suspension, but it will at least allow the 2019-20 campaign to be completed.

Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz has announced his retirement from professional football.

Liverpool’s return to non-contact training “felt like the first day at school”, says manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Premier League leaders worked in small groups at their Melwood training ground on Wednesday for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown.
