Update.

They tired to open the car today manually (with a key) the key is turning but not unlocking the car.

This is now really making me feel sad - as the car was in perfect conditions but stories everyday cropping up now - I don’t even know a good locksmith in Enugu.

What do you guys think the issue is now and do you have any reliable locksmith that can check it out?

The problem is from the key but I'm afraid other steps they have taken to resolve the problem has complicated it.

They are insinuating that the problem aint from the key anyways.

Make sure the broken key fob is close to the key slot when you try to start the car.

Thank you - I have not had the time to do this but I will update you guys once the issue has been resolved.
Although it was checked and they suggested it is not the key because the security light on the dashboard recognises the key ( I am not in Nigeria atm )

Arrest that mechanic...He spoilt the key fob, and instead of apologizing and liasing with you to replace or fix it, he is slyly patching things and passing the buck..


That's how these useless mechanics behave until they meet a joyless customer..As far as they are concerned, once they have fixed or pretended to fix whatever car complaint is brought to them, they do not care what else they damage in the process of doing that fix


I repeat..arrest mechanic and make him pay for a replacement of that fob ...that way, going forward , he will be more careful with people's vehicles...

This is exactly why I insist on being present and even assisting when a mechanic is fixing my vehicle..and my eyes and ears are wide open at that point..I can't count the number of times I have had to pick forgotten bolts, nuts and tiny parts off the ground and insist they be put in their proper place, even when mechanic is telling me "e no mean"...and i will be like "E no mean kini ..abi ya daddy wants to die ni"

I won't allow someone's carelessness with my car kill me or put me at risk of danger...this is why I do not visit all these big car workshops where one can't be allowed to observe his vehicle being fixed, aside their outrageous prices of course ...

Even for something as little as a tyre patch, I will be present eyeballing everything that's going on ....make the weyrey vulcanizer no go pump 60psi put for my tyre

I have this 2012 Camry that cranks and will not start.

It has not being like this - problem started when I gave a mechanic the car to service and wash it.

The car key came back spoilt and disabled from the fob, it actually started when it was being taken to be refuelled after the incident but after it was refuelled it refused to start in the filling station.

The mechanic came the next day and started it saying that nothing was wrong with the car or the keys transponder that it was just a fuse that did cut in the fuse box, he took the car key and packaged it again but on receiving the key - the car did not start again by my friend that is in the company of the car.

NB= car doesn't have no security just a tracker.

Please what do you think might be the issue here abi someone is not being honest with me?
