Footballer Ricardo Ferreira handed 50-year ban after referee attack A Switzerland-based amateur footballer has been banned for 50 years after kicking a ball in the referee's face and spraying him with water. Portugal Futebol Clube defender Ricardo Ferreira has already served a 45-game ban for assaulting opposition players. "I had expected one or two years maximum. But 50 years? Football's my life," Ferreira, 28, said. The fourth-tier league's lawyer Robert Breiter said: "We do not want such a player in our league." Speaking to Swiss newspaper Blick (in German), Breiter continued: "Unfortunately we encounter such cases about once a year." Ferreira had been an unused substitute in his team's match against SC Worb in the Bern league when he attacked the referee after the final whistle. Ferreira will be free to return to footballing activity on 5 June 2064, by which time he will be 78. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29862380 |

The video released on Friday was Boko Haram's first statement after the government announced a ceasefire Boko Haram has denied claims by Nigeria's government that it has agreed to a ceasefire and will release more than 200 abducted schoolgirls. The group's leader, Abubakar Shekau, said the girls had converted to Islam and been married off since being taken. Nigeria's army announced a ceasefire with the militants on 17 October, saying the girls would soon be freed. But violence has continued since news of the alleged truce, including a fatal bomb blast on Friday. Boko Haram has been fighting an insurgency since 2009, with some 2,000 civilians reportedly killed this year. 'We will not negotiate' In a video released on Friday, Abubakar Shekau said: "We have not made ceasefire with anyone. We did not negotiate with anyone. It's a lie. "We will not negotiate. What is our business with negotiation? Allah said we should not." Shekau also claimed that the militants were holding a German national, thought to be a teacher, who was kidnapped by gunmen in July. There was no indication of when or where the group's latest video was shot. The BBC's Tomi Oladipo in Lagos says the video will come as a huge embarrassment for the Nigerian government after it said it had secured a ceasefire with Boko Haram. Newspapers with headlines on the Chibok girls and their possible release are displayed at a news stand in Abuja - 18 October 2014 News of the government supposedly sealing a truce with Boko Haram made the front pages The Islamist militants sparked global outrage in April by abducting 219 schoolgirls from the remote north-eastern town of Chibok, in Borno state. Their continued captivity has led to criticism of the Nigerian government's efforts to secure their release. Hopes were raised earlier this month when Nigeria's chief of defence staff, Alex Badeh, announced a truce with the group. "They've assured us they have the girls and they will release them," he said. "I am cautiously optimistic." But the Boko Haram leader said the girls were "in their marital homes" after being married off by the group. Last week, Human Rights Watch said in a report that Boko Haram was holding more than 500 women and young girls captive and that forced marriage was common in the group's camps. |

"The Obama regime sent 4,000 US soldiers to West Africa to fight #Ebola. Soldiers don’t have training or equipment with which to combat Ebola. Why expose 4,000 Americans to an epidemic?" I strongly advise everyone not to take vaccines from red cross or any other organizations, they are coming to spread the virus. Why send troops instead of doctors and nurses. The public continues to be reassured that Ebola is not a problem for the US, but CNN reports that President Obama has appointed an Ebola Czar. The Czar is not a medical person but an insider lawyer who served as chief of staff to Vice President Biden. Little wonder Ebola conspiracy theories are spreading faster than Ebola. And as far as any of us knows, the conspiracies could be true. University of Illinois law professor Francis Boyle, an expert of the perfidies of the US government, reminds us that Sierra Leone and Liberia, the countries most affected by the Ebola outbreak, are two West African countries that host US biological warfare laboratories. Professor Boyle asks how the disease, which is mainly associated with equatorial Congo, reached West Africa thousands of kilometers away. Washington’s response is itself peculiar. The Obama regime sent 4,000 US soldiers to West Africa to fight Ebola. Soldiers don’t have training or equipment with which to combat Ebola. Why expose 4,000 Americans to an epidemic? This seemingly pointless decision has raised suspicions that Washington is exposing troops to Ebola so that vaccines or treatments can be tested on the troops. Other commentators have noticed that West Africa is an area of Chinese investments. They wonder if Washington is using the cover of Ebola to occupy the countries or even set the disease loose in order to drive out the Chinese. The new US Africa Command was formed to counteract Chinese economic penetration in Africa. The incompetence of US public health authorities in responding to Ebola gives legs to these theories. Real conspiracies abound. Those who say “it’s just a conspiracy theory” need to look up the meaning of conspiracy. As one commentator observed, the CDC’s response to Ebola is too stupid for stupid. The CDC’s protocol is based on assumptions about Ebola that do not seem to be true for the current strain. A nurse, who treated the Ebola patient in Dallas who died, was given the green light to fly commercially even though she reported to CDC that she had symptoms. She exposed 132 passengers on the flight, and these passengers have since been in contact with thousands of other people. The Daily Mail has published photographs of an American with a clipboard and without protective suiting boarding the nurse on a private airplane on way to hospital quarantine. US public health authorities have imposed no quarantine on travel to the US from infected countries. US airlines continue to fly to and from the infected countries despite the risk of introducing new infections into the US. African countries are doing a much better job than the hegemonic superpower. They have closed borders, prevented air travel, and tracked down infected persons and those exposed to them. Instead of taking sensible precautions, the Obama regime appoints an Ebola Czar and sends 4,000 Americans into the areas where the disease rages. Little wonder that Americans have no confidence in their government. As the Republicans want to privatize and outsource everything, why not close down Washington and outsource our governance to a more competent country? http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/10/18/382659/us-uses-troops-to-test-ebola-vaccines/
